00:09what's up everybody this is jeff with two inch voices and i am here with yaya diamond
00:28what's up people's how you doing it is me yaya and i am the host and founder of dream chases
00:33radio
00:33as well as new to you you know they try to they try to bite on me and put and
00:38say that you know
00:39they're the first ones that do new to you i've been doing new youtube for years new to you is
00:43mine
00:43it's mine and that's why jeff is here today because it is maybe new to some people and not
00:50to others two inch voices jeff has been like my friend for many many years and for me to be
00:58able
00:58to have him on the show and to have him on the label and to push his music is an
01:04honor and a pleasure
01:06and i want to thank you guys so much for tuning in what's up jeff oh gosh it's such a
01:12pleasure to
01:13have you on the show but not only that to have your music to help you out with the music
01:17to get
01:17music out there you know i i propose so many different crazy things that people were like
01:23yeah right yaya yeah right but i did that i did that and jeff was like yeah yeah i know
01:29you're gonna do
01:30it yaya you're gonna do it so jeff tell me you got new music out i'm gonna go ahead and
01:35share it
01:35because it came out today i'm so so so excited it's everywhere it's everywhere so okay i we we got
01:44to talk about this tell me about the the uh the ep that you got out now um collection of
01:54uh new music
01:55music um some are songs that you may have heard some are songs that some people may not have heard
02:01but i took a different approach because the last single that i released called q a at the tail end
02:08of it was uh bass drums guitar and vocal so more in the way of a band and time around
02:15i wanted to take
02:16that approach as progression you know i didn't want to just make an acoustic ep um as fun as they
02:23are i
02:24wanted to incorporate my friends because i miss playing music with my friends and i just it's
02:29it's really what i love to do is just be inspired and create with my friends so um the songs
02:34themselves
02:35um uh blues blues um i mean it's as a as a musician and you study the blues or you
02:44appreciate the blues
02:45you know that sometimes maybe even the blues gets the blues because we sing so many songs about being sad
02:51happy heartbroken you know and you know then you have the night before which is a story from
03:00somebody's point of view about making sure that they come out okay in a potentially horrible situation
03:06and um you know i like to let the the the reader read but the stories tell themselves with it
03:12there's
03:12nothing there's nothing hidden there's no hidden memory or hidden story within it all right and then you
03:17have between two worlds and that just to me tell like it just takes you on a trip it just
03:24take that's
03:24it it just takes you on a trip and there you go look at that call upon the ancients is
03:28the most recent
03:29ep and i am super proud of it um i appreciate all the people that were involved um chris raphael
03:37on
03:37bass um jeff doll who was the original drummer from bumblefoot he played drums on it a friend of mine
03:44which you know i'll throw it out there you know i know some very cool people that do some very
03:48cool
03:48work and you know yourself included as you know you do amazing things and you've got some amazing
03:54friends but sometimes it's like you know you just share something with your friends and they're like
03:58i just dig what you're doing and i want to do it you know they don't even ask them you're
04:02like hey
04:03check this out and they're like can i play on that you're like absolutely you know let it rip and
04:08i'm
04:08just um i've been hard at work because the first single off of it is the blues blues um and
04:17uh
04:19it's it hits um i for me when i wrote it it didn't hit as hard as it did when
04:28i actually read the
04:29lyrics because the music came first and then the lyrics just kind of went into their places
04:35in my case that's what it does a lot of times i don't write lyrics first and then the music
04:40a lot of times it's the the music comes first and then the lyrics because it kind of helps to
04:45shape the emotion yeah you know yeah i love it i love it i'm super proud of it and thank
04:52you
04:52thank you so much um you breathing yeah breathe just breathe breathe because this is not it this is
05:03not the only thing that has happened in the last few days you know it's been such a pleasure to
05:08actually be uh instrumental to see you go for your dreams and your goals you know you were the um
05:18i
05:18guess the fill-in or the standby for rev and barry and the funk for a long time you did
05:23the the guitar
05:24parts and you're an amazing guitarist and then for you to go and go after your own dreams and do
05:30your
05:30own original music was great and you believed in my crazy antics i'm telling you that much
05:37well because yaya was like i'm gonna do it i'm gonna do it and you're like go ahead girl go
05:42ahead
05:42and everybody was like yeah right well you know because i it's i've always said it's like this you
05:49either go after your dreams you get a job at walmart yeah yeah not that's one or the other
05:55thing to have a walmart job but you know i mean you you as an artist you have to understand
06:01that
06:02sometimes you might not eat but that's what's going to make you drive even harder to get to
06:06where it is that you want to be and you know i think that there's there's value in that character
06:13yeah um and some people like well that's just a character flaw well if that's how you see things
06:20and you probably just live and never put somebody else's dream you know your dreams which is why
06:25they call you a dream chaser you have your podcast and your radio and your tv and your your music
06:32and
06:32your productions and everything that you do is you encourage people to follow their dreams because
06:37you did it and you saw how people kind of laughed at you for for having even a dream and
06:45i was there to
06:45see it so i i saw firsthand how people were like she's just you know she's she's got her head
06:51in
06:51the clouds well where are you where are you in your dreams if you're not following your dreams again
06:57you're living somebody else's lie yeah you're you're gonna go get a job go get a corporate job and quit
07:04just exactly yeah but that's not the only thing that um happened i had no idea that i was gonna
07:14be
07:14doing what i've done um and be able to actually facilitate some of the things that have happened
07:22in the in the recent past i would say and um from what you were saying as of recent um
07:31all of the
07:32amazing things that you've been working on um why don't you just say hi for a second let me see
07:38if i
07:38hear you hey it's me putting the spotify on go ahead i'm not gonna do that no so just um
07:46what
07:47you've done uh in our last conversation because you and i talk pretty regularly sometimes we go a
07:53month or so without but we always catch up and it's never a there's never a lapse in our in
07:59our
07:59relationship it's just we are just working we we don't yeah catch up we catch up you know like right
08:05now yeah the rest of the world gets to hear how we catch up you know what i mean so
08:12but no okay so i
08:13had no idea that i was gonna get five recommendations for being on the recording academy when i got that
08:20that i was a part of the 2026 recording academy for the grammys i was like oh my gosh and
08:25then they
08:25said you can put a vote you can do voting for you know um for your your your songs and
08:31put things
08:32up for consideration i said jeff because you're on the label you're on red hot reality which is
08:38which is the label that everybody laughed at me and said i couldn't get um on sony and and now
08:43it's
08:43on sony and and i got my label on sony so who has the last laugh well really nobody but
08:49it's a lot of
08:50work but it's still i did it right um and i want to thank so many people for helping me
08:56get that but i want to
08:58also you can't do it by yourself and that's that's the biggest thing that i've noticed is that a lot
09:03of people think they can do things alone and this is not an alone kind of journey at all
09:10you're right you're absolutely right it's not easy either no there's if there's anything i've learned
09:17um you know just in
09:24growing as a musician and a person it's not something you can do on your own you can read a
09:30million books but then it becomes application so everything that you learn along the way you have
09:36to apply it to your life at that point just because you read and you know how to what it
09:41was um
09:41um incorporate it in sort of a if that be the word you know and how to apply it there
09:48you go apply
09:48it to life in itself like whether it be music art thought process personal development um just
09:55being a human you know yeah you know it's it's yeah it's uh i i definitely yeah without without it
10:06i mean
10:07you don't have much you know and i think a lot of it is being a good person i think
10:13that that practicum
10:15helps um i mean in my case that i can say that you know yeah going to england a couple
10:24of tours now
10:25in england for a month long at a time you know from brighton all the way up to newcastle i've
10:30made
10:30great friends i mean oh my gosh i was so proud of you i it was it was bold and
10:36and you having the
10:37faith see what what really catalyst was when you you we had the conversation you said listen i want
10:43to give you an opportunity you said i'm not going to sign you i want to help you but i
10:49don't want to
10:50sign you and put you in a contract and i said okay well what do you think and then we
10:55had our
10:55conversation we did and we're still doing that and yeah what got me from being here in the states
11:03excuse me um from the states to england and um getting me you know um a lot of opportunities i
11:13mean
11:13it's having having uh you know honestly having your label and having so many backing us as they do
11:21you know helps you get a little bit farther than being like hey i'm just a local person
11:27where i just want to be local i want the world and i don't think that's asked for i don't
11:33and i think
11:34if if everybody has a little piece of the world to care a little bit more about it you know
11:38yeah
11:40that's that's way too deep for what's going on that's okay that's okay because you got you have
11:46the music going on you got everything going on so and now you're up for consideration for your ep all
11:52three songs for consideration for grammy now that is uh
12:02it's it's believable but it's just so far out there it's so far out there i'm i thank you so
12:08much
12:09um because i'm excited i i think that you know um it falls right at the right time uh i
12:17don't know
12:17when the grammys are coming into play but this there's a whole there's a whole sequence of order
12:22right now right i just played bill in sarasota there were people there um we we pretty much packed
12:29the inside room um and then i i actually headlined for my first time you know and people stayed which
12:38was wild i mean people i didn't even know were just sitting there and they're just locked in i
12:44was like all right well here we go let's take this ride together and then um i got a contact
12:51i got in
12:52contact i want an opportunity to go up to dc to play at the springboard festival and i i wasn't
13:00it's
13:01so on and so forth i wound up talking with the the the manager the the creator of the whole
13:06event
13:07uh great gentleman named barry and i said you know it's not responsible for me to go to to dc
13:13right
13:14now financially for anybody so i said what do you have in the south so i'm going to new orleans
13:20uh next weekend to go play and be part of the convention itself over in new orleans and then
13:27when i come back i'm here for a little while and then i'm going to play a festival over in
13:31ormond
13:32beach for songwriters it's all original music so it's like you know the record release the
13:38grammy consideration i'm going to new orleans to play one of my favorite cities in the world
13:44and then when i get back i'm gonna go play a festival over in ormond beach and i don't know
13:50what else man i'm just you know i i'm i'm living the dream and i couldn't be more grateful for
13:57the
13:58support that i get from yourself and the people that pay attention to you that through you come
14:03and hear me and then they're like hey i heard you through ya ya or you know all the different
14:08avenues it's like you know um heartwarming and um honest that's the part that i like is that it's
14:17honest it's it's not just a bunch of bs from someone talking it's like i i found you through this
14:23person and i'm really glad that i did wow you know it's amazing for me too to be able to
14:31actually
14:32do what i said i was going to do you know um when when you you know when i started
14:40dream chasers radio
14:40i was depressed i was going through a moment and and i i wasn't living the life i wanted to
14:45live and
14:46so i reached out and i said listen i gotta interview people and i heard about podcasting in 2006 and
14:51i said
14:51okay we're gonna do this thing and i called my friend and i said you're gonna be on my show
14:55he
14:55was like what are you doing now ya ya what are you doing now and everybody that knows me knows
15:01if i
15:01say i'm gonna go after something just give me a little bit i'm actually working it i'm actually
15:05working it in the long run i'm not trying to get something right away i'm trying to work through it
15:10learn it make sure i have it build the foundation make sure it can stick you know what i mean
15:17and then
15:17go for it um but he was like what are you doing i said you're gonna be the first person
15:22on my show i swear
15:24and from that day on i found that i love lifting other people up it's okay to be to lift
15:33myself up
15:34and to go after my dreams but i think everyone has a soapbox that needs to be set up for
15:41them and someone
15:42needs to go let's go come on get on your soapbox let's go let's go get on the soap get
15:47get up there
15:47let's go come on let's talk about it because ain't nobody gonna know no one's gonna know unless you say
15:54something you know and so i just i love providing the soapbox and i love pushing people on it
16:04and that's just me and if someone took this away from me i would find another way to do it
16:11i would i would find another way to do it i did though i mean it's you're limitless you
16:19are starving for it you're not hungry for it you starve for it and that's the difference we've
16:24talked about that before the death yeah i mean being hungry and starving it's be hungry but you're
16:30gonna you know you're gonna get fed when you're starving that means you've been hungry for so long
16:33that whatever is happening you're you're either doing you're doing your best to make it happen and you
16:38see you're willing to be hungry you're willing to starve yourself out to get to where you need to be
16:43exactly it that's what you did for years and i saw you do it so it was pretty pretty grand
16:49i mean we
16:50tried we tried what in 20 like during the covet era um i had a a bass player for a
16:59little while and we
17:00were talking about doing a podcast and you're like you know let's let's set up a time and then things
17:05kind
17:05of got crazy because we got a bunch of storms that came through yeah and everything just kind of went
17:11to a hush but it was never forgotten it was because you even said at you you're like things are
17:16just
17:16crazy and then you wound up going down to south south florida and seeing hurricanes and walking dogs
17:22and parking lots and twisters i remember we were on the news because of that that we that we recorded
17:31i was like go get in the car get in the car yeah you better get the car because there
17:36are
17:38we were right there man it's crazy it was crazy it was crazy i've really been enjoying um yeah i
17:45mean
17:45i'm gonna blow you up a little bit here i've really been enjoying watching your stuff on tiktok all the
17:50inner doing with people on there like they're they're they're really good like i don't even
17:55know the artist but it's given me an opportunity to get to know these folks you know what i mean
18:00like
18:00just it's outside of my bubble because i don't do a lot on social media i post but i don't
18:06really
18:06do a lot like i'm not yeah i don't doom scroll i read books and i write music i mean
18:11i got a brand
18:11i have a brand new but she's brand new to me she's 101 year old piano beautiful that's all i've
18:18been
18:19doing i've just been playing and learning relearning and playing guitar working on new music but um
18:25you know when i do go on tiktok or some i mean you've been real hot on tiktok i'll say
18:30that like
18:31that's the one thing where i do believe there's something about it where you have
18:37great interviews the amenity to do interviews for a longer sequence than you do on like instagram or
18:45facebook or something like that because again it seems like there's more time you know i've
18:51enjoyed that and and being able to be part of your world you know sort of on the on the
18:56sidelines
18:57watching what you're doing so you know it's been fun you know you're talking with these folks and
19:03they're talking about what they're doing and how they got to where and i know my steps and that i
19:07want
19:07to get to the next level so there's just stuff that i know i don't know so and i'm not
19:12shy to say i don't
19:13know uh it's it's not embarrassing to me it's just honest i mean if you're not yeah everything
19:18then you might as well go into a different room and be the stupidest person there i'd rather be that
19:23guy me too i want to learn something i'd rather be the one with the with the pen and pad
19:29in my hand
19:30going yeah that's me as i'm shutting up because yeah something brilliant and here it is this is me
19:39in a room full of smart people yeah i'm i'm good for that yeah it's uh it's been nice i'm
19:46not lying
19:48no i you know i believe that's just a good character to have is to you know a friend of
19:54mine told me we're on a train i was in new york city and uh he says the older guy
20:00but not old
20:01but older like spiritually and soulfully he says you learn more by being quiet than you do saying
20:08anything and i was like and i was at a point in my life where i was a little still
20:12reckless
20:13and i learned from that moment i just said just gonna listen you know um you know when i'm talking
20:19with my friends we're talking you know but and when i'm in a room full of people i nine times
20:24out
20:24of ten i'm the most awkward person there because all i'm doing is listening and people are like
20:28don't you have anything to say i was like talk to me no nope i don't do you right you
20:35guys
20:36go ahead i'll listen i mean like it's it's you know it's like i was talking with um a few
20:44friends
20:44in new orleans my cousin's there and i was i said to him because we're we're going to be working
20:48on
20:49some stuff here shortly um some new music um and uh he just did a film score for a film
20:57that i can
20:57actually something it's this swedish movie and um if i'm just gonna plug him real quick because
21:07he's brilliant i mean he did the score in itself is his name is phono um he just it's this
21:15crazy
21:15story on the back side if anybody ever wants to know it just dm me and i'll i'll share it
21:19yeah
21:20yeah i'll tell you about it but so he got hit up by this movie company he's on he's with
21:25arista so he
21:27won an opportunity to do this remix for trent reznor and it put him on the map and he won
21:33yeah so he did
21:35all these tours to europe and all these things so um he did this score just recently and he's um
21:42composes and probably doesn't perform so much anymore but does did a composition as phono so
21:47if anybody's listening and they want to hear a proper like euro orchestral like some glitchy type
21:55of nasty beats check out just type in phono on um on the spotify or apple music or whatever streaming
22:03service that you use and and uh you'll find it there and uh is that p-h-p-h-o
22:11-n-o or is it f-o-n-o
22:13p-h-o-n-o phone okay yep and uh it's beautiful i'll send it to you okay send it
22:20over to you because i
22:20want you to hear it and what he he produced all the music around the vocals and then he mixed
22:27the vocals
22:27into it chopped him up and just made i mean i was i listened to it i was like did
22:32you really do this
22:32and i i did the research and it says his name all over it clear as day arista was like
22:37brilliant well
22:38done yeah and as you know are not a very easy people to um make happy musically because you
22:47got bands like abba and you've got all these sweetest death metal bands and prog bands and and
22:51like technical like beautifully well written and sculpted music and that's what this is so i was
22:57blown away when i heard it i was like jill this is amazing wow wow people yeah whatever you send
23:06me
23:07we'll put in the description box so people can find it as well but we'll also put two inch voices
23:11there
23:14yeah i am i'm i'm excited i'm excited because
23:19i'm i'm getting electronic drum kit a friend of mine is going to bestow me with one um because
23:26i'm too i'm too crazy about mixing so i can already have the samples and then just play because i
23:34can
23:34play but all the new music is going to have bass and drums and vocals and maybe some keyboards but
23:41i do things musically a little bit different so anyway but yeah there's the new record i love it
23:47i love it and i'm excited to have a band on stage like that's that's really what i want to
23:54do is have
23:55a bass player and a drummer um playing on stage and having having a moment and i know that having
24:03a band will get me farther than being acoustic solo and it's just it's just what it is like if
24:08you're
24:08playing newport folk festival which i would love to do it'd be great to have a band but i would
24:13love
24:13to do it solo just so i can take in all of that um or whatever i mean if i
24:19have a full band that's
24:20cool but however i just you know i play the world there you go too much voices is moving up
24:27i hope you
24:27get at least a nomination this year you're on consideration so start um you know hashtagging for
24:35your consideration and uh and and you know go to those facebook groups and for your consideration
24:42groups and put your music up there you just never know who's listening you never know who's gonna see
24:47you and this is the opportunity to do that you know and uh every every time you get the opportunity
24:54you know say something about it and that's the way it is you know get on your soapbox and start
24:59talking
25:01about this yaya just gave me the the the step up if you want honest music if you want to
25:09cry a
25:09little bit laugh a little bit and hear some stories then listen to two inch voices um all i can
25:15say is
25:15that it's honest in any way that's ever listened to it has said the same thing they say it's honest
25:19music it's just me my guitar and then the words come the music comes where it comes from and my
25:26beautiful
25:26wonderful friends that love and support me that are willing to make the records and the ones that
25:31are willing to put them out and to support them so um you know if you if you know anybody
25:38in the
25:38grammy world folks tell them if you don't go ahead and go out and pick up the records um give
25:45consideration
25:46repost my stuff follow me on social medias you know it's two inch voices spelled out um i'm the only
25:54band project in the world called that and i know that because i put my guitar i have a custom
25:59guitar
26:00that was built for me and i put that up on stage for 3 000 people and no one was
26:04able to find another
26:05spelling of the band so come support an original musician and thank you for your support i appreciate
26:12it and it helps put myself and yaya gives us a platform to share our music our love and passion
26:17with other people and hopefully we inspire other people and yourself to do
