00:02I felt terrible for FAMU.
00:05So I've had, I think I've maybe had this conversation before.
00:12And let me start by saying I understand why these programs do this, right?
00:22But I would say to FAMU and Bethune and, you know,
00:26some of these smaller schools that go against the top 20 in college football.
00:33I think when you send your kids out there
00:36and you know exactly what's going to happen, right,
00:40you need to put a little money in their pocket.
00:45Because they're not getting the NIL.
00:47That's why they're at your school.
00:49And the fact that nobody says anything about this, right,
00:55when Miami, who had all NFL players, were playing terrible
01:00and they said this is a disgrace to football.
01:02They should be fined for putting these kids, somebody going to get hurt.
01:06You don't say that about college.
01:08I felt when Motore hit their quarterback, like the third snap of the game,
01:14I was like, oh, no.

01:16You just could tell, like, oh, this is no bueno.
01:19This is going to be a complete annihilation.
01:22Obviously, they were going to kill them.
01:23But it was just like they didn't even look –
01:26they would have had a tougher challenge just, like, playing themselves.
01:29If it was just taking on all their true freshman backups,
01:32it would have been a tougher challenge.
01:34But, again, I don't – like, I understand why they do it.
01:38I remember Long Beach State, when I was in college,
01:45we had to send them their money first.
01:47Otherwise, there was going to be no game because they wouldn't have
01:50an athletic department.
01:52And so I understand why these schools do it.
01:56But all these presidents and all these athletic directors,
02:03they ain't risking nothing sending them kids out there.
02:05So why shouldn't they – like, hey, buddy, this is for real.
02:12We know you're going to go out there and get your butt whooped, right?
02:17And we know we're putting you in a bad situation.
02:21Here's a couple of grand from the money we got, right?
02:25So that, you know, you understand that we do know what's happening here.
02:32Like, I can't believe that there's not more outrage about this
02:41than there is about other things going on in sports.

04:18And so you accomplished a lot of things.
04:23But there's not nobody that could have told me any different.
04:27That after last week and the way they ran the football, that that was going to be a point of

04:38And, I mean, they got everything they would want to out of that game.

05:01Darian Mensah has incompleted four passes, and two of them have been, like, bombs down the sideline that could have

05:08And it's, yeah, he's been a video game so far.

05:14I mean, Malachi and Tony, that catch that.

05:18That guy literally was trying to tackle him in the air.

05:21And he just comes up with the football.
05:23And you're just like, holy crap.
05:26That's, you know what, and kudos to him, but that's what separates you.

05:35Playing against Bethune and catching, or Stanford, and catching a lot of, you know, passes, doesn't separate you from the
05:45other upper echelon receivers in the NCAA.
05:49But what does is, when that ball's thrown up and you have no business catching it, and you go up
05:55and catch the football, when you separate yourself as a wide receiver from other wide receivers who are running wide
06:04open down the field.
06:05So, that's what separates you.
06:07So, I enjoy watching it.
06:10But, I think that we are watching a kid that is a complete wide receiver.

06:19A guy that blocks, that fights, that makes tough catches, runs after the catch, right, and has speed.
06:26So, good luck with that.

07:06I would say it's between him and Dunnigan that they are both that have impressed me
07:10at the beginning of the season so far.

07:14I think it's cool because, like, to have them respond without really knowing how much
07:20you're going to play them.
07:21Because I can understand, like, last week, with the inability to run, that maybe a whole
07:27bunch of guys weren't going to get opportunities, right?
07:31This week, a lot more guys got opportunities to run the football, and you're starting to
07:35see the depth they have there, right?
07:39And so, it's cool to watch.
07:42I think we're all ready for the opponent level to creep up a little bit.

07:52So, we can see, okay, like, even last year, you went to the championship game, but you
07:57had that lull.
07:59How is that?
08:01And I think every time I go through a game or that the Canes play, I go, I'm seeing
08:09differences from last year.
08:12One, every game last year, they started sluggish, pretty much, right?
08:19And then kind of picked it up.
08:22This year's been different.
08:24They've been very physical, quickly, early, not a whole bunch of mistakes, taking care of
08:31business.
08:32And so, I want to see, as the talent that they play increases, if they can still stay
08:39on that same path.

08:41It's going to be fun seeing it continue to grow.
08:46It basically felt like they got in everything they needed to yesterday.
08:52But I think, look, we recall that you and I got into it over the Bethune-Cookman back in
08:58the day when they won and put up 60 on them.
08:59This was, like, different.
09:00It just felt like they legitimately were, it was Monstars versus whoever.
09:09And I know that FAMU had backups, backups in.
09:11They were playing true freshman by the end of it.
09:13Their coach was so pissed at Mario Cristobal by the end of it.
09:16I don't know.
09:16I think it's just because he's coaching.
09:19You know, you coached two games in four days and you just had no shot.
09:24But, I mean, there was one point, they were talking about that on the broadcast, when Mallory
09:27had the touchdown.
09:28They're like, well, do you stop throwing it?
09:30And it's like, all right, here's the handoff.
09:32Boom.
09:32He goes 60 yards.
09:33What are you supposed to do?

09:36I think one of the bigger differences from last year to this year, right?
09:45At no point in time, like, last year, even though they scored 60, it was kind of sloppy, right?
09:53Like, I know you scored 60 and it looks like, you know what I mean.
09:56Like, what we saw yesterday was so much different than the 60 they put up on Bethune.
10:05So different, even though they both were blowouts.
10:09And so from that standpoint, I get that the game was very lopsided and they could do whatever
10:16they want.
10:17But to me, the team looks better based on how they handled their business in all these moments.
10:28Like, still didn't have any sloppy mistakes.
10:31Still didn't have no, you know, my bad, my bad, no big deal, right?
10:36Everybody was fighting for the ball.
10:38Everybody was chasing the court.
10:40Everybody was going up and making tough catches.
10:43Like, it was business at hand.
10:45The only thing that was worrisome was Pringle twisting an ankle and Lightfoot getting hit in the nuts.

10:54Because I was, like, texting.
10:55I was texting with Stun Steve yesterday.
10:57I was like, is he hurt or did he just get hit in the nuts?
10:59Because he looked like there was that one crazy one where, like, three Hurricanes tackled the one guy.
11:04And then I'm like, oh, please just everybody get up.
11:07Like, that's all I just kept thinking.
11:08Like, I don't want any stupid injuries.
11:11But thankfully, it looked like it was just, you know, a hit in his Lightfoots.
11:15So, you know, if he needs help, you chew.
