00:00A lot of winning going on this weekend.
00:02The Banks!
00:03They beat FC Cincinnati 4-0.
00:06They advance to the Eastern Conference Final on Saturday.
00:10They will host New York City FC, 6 o'clock.
00:14For the Banks!
00:15That's the conference championship.
00:19Nothing gets past you, dude.
00:21I mean, he did say it.
00:24Hmm?
00:25He did say it.
00:26I said it was the Eastern Conference Final.
00:27I literally said that.
00:30Minus one.
00:31We ain't got to wait a month.
00:38Yeah, Leroy's on.
00:39You know what it is?
00:40I can tell.
00:41Everybody's on.
00:42When is that week?
00:42When it's holiday?
00:43And the holidays is holiday time?
00:45Everybody's on shutdown mode.
00:47Everybody's on shutdown mode.
00:50Am I lying?
00:50You on shutdown mode right now.
00:52Let's be real.
00:52No, not really.
00:54That's for the championship.
00:56Thanks.
00:57Thanks, you idiot.
00:58Don't get the lash out of me.
01:01You didn't have the listing years on.
01:06Miami Hurricanes.
01:08They beat Virginia Tech 34-17.
01:11Carson Beck was awesome in this game.
01:13320 yards.
01:14Four touchdowns.
01:16Malachi Tony continuing to do baby Jesus type things.
01:1912 catches.
01:20146 yards.
01:21A touchdown for him.
01:23They will close out the regular season at Pitt at noon on Saturday.
01:30But really a game that was never in doubt.
01:32They put a little, the Vatek put a little window dressing on it.
01:35And then Kane's like, we'll take the window dressing away.
01:37I would say a lot of people don't realize how many people are hurt on that defense that they're just starting to come back.
01:47They've been getting off the faster starts.
01:50Maybe not scoring, but looking more aggressive.
01:52Not just, you know, trying to dominate and wear you down.
01:57They've been making an attempt to get ahead early and then play that style of football.
02:04So, yeah, but I don't know, man.
02:09I don't know.
02:11They, I just think when it gets down to it, you beat Pittsburgh after what they just did, then we can have a conversation.
02:28Because they look really good offensively.
02:32But until then, to complain about where you are now, doesn't matter.
02:39I mean, it doesn't matter if you're, you know, it doesn't matter just because they've already resigned.
02:44Like, they're doing the crime right in front of you.
02:46That's why.
02:46No, that's not.
02:47It's just, it's just, it's already, it's already been determined by these, these hacks in their stupid little, in their stupid little building.
02:55There's no football to be played.
02:56But when you sit back and complain about your situation and don't take care of your business, then you, you know, you can't, there's nothing you can say.
03:06And so, all I would say is, is that everybody saw what Pittsburgh did last week to Georgia Tech.
03:15But if you go out and beat them and are convincing with that victory, then you can have a complaint.
03:25But to have a complaint before you've handled your business is a moot point.
03:29And, and we, we, we, we had this conversation every year going into November, every year.
03:38And what ends up happening, they spit the bit last month of the season.
03:45So let's do it the other way.
03:48Take care of your business.
03:50You put yourself in this situation.
03:52Go out and handle your business and then complain when it's all done.
03:56Okay, but if they do, then you'll acknowledge that it's stupid that Notre Dame is in front of them.
04:01No.
04:03So then what's like, like, so, so.
04:05Because you don't have an argument until we get to that point.
04:08Okay.
04:09But I'm asking you to try and put on your, put on your hypothetical.
04:12Okay.
04:12I'm asking you.
04:13We're sitting here at four o'clock on Saturday.
04:15They just beat Pitt on the road.
04:17Yes.
04:18Mm-hmm.
04:19So then you'll be at the spot where they should be ahead of Notre Dame.
04:21No.
04:22Okay.
04:22Well, then what's the point?
04:24Why would you make a, why would you make a, why would you make a declaration of that?
04:28Because you've been complaining for two weeks.
04:29And Tobin, understand this.
04:33I don't make these rules up, but it has been true and try over the years of the college football playoff.
04:44If you lose early, you have a chance to build it up regardless of who you lose to.
04:49Listen, we can't go back three months and say, okay, well, we beat them.
04:57After you lost in between there, the two unranked teams.
05:01Okay.
05:01But like barely lost.
05:03No, it doesn't matter.
05:05Like, it's not like they got smoked by those unranked teams.
05:07They lost, they lost an overtime game and they lost by a field goal with their quarterback having the worst game of his season.
05:13That you were favored by 20 plus.
05:15Understood.
05:15It's good, but whatever, like they had a terrible, like nobody's had a stinker.
05:20But you don't think that matters?
05:22Um, I just think that this is, I think this is one of those things where it matters.
05:27I understand it, but the thing that's crazy to me and will never make sense to me is in sports, always and forever, head-to-head has mattered.
05:37It's mattered.
05:38Not three months ago.
05:40It does, dude.
05:40I'm sorry.
05:41I hate to tell you that, but it doesn't matter.
05:44Whenever the tiebreakers happen, they happen.
05:46Whenever the schedule makers make the game, your head-to-head always means the most.
05:50Like, even in the dumbass NBA tournament, which is stupid, the Heat have like a plus gazillion in the point differential.
05:59The thing that's going to matter on the tiebreakers at the end of it is going to be what?
06:03Here.
06:03Head-to-head.
06:04But, but that would, here, that would matter if you were talking about the conference.
06:11You understand what I'm saying?
06:13Oh, it's not everything.
06:14All the things that you're talking, all the things that you're talking about is with group play, conference play, a way, a way to separate them moving forward.
06:24It's just semantics.
06:25It's like, it's one of these things where.
06:26It's not semantics.
06:27It is.
06:28It is.
06:28Because they don't have a conference to play for, so you can't even go after.
06:31Should Florida State be ranked above Alabama?
06:34Their record's not the same, so no.
06:37Okay.
06:37So don't be silly.
06:38I mean, obviously the Kings are more important.
06:40They shouldn't be ranked.
06:40At no point in time.
06:41That's why, and it's like, it's like you're not having a conversation with a grown-up with you on this.
06:45No, but here, the road to get back to this point was greater for Miami because the drop you had when you lost to two unranked teams, you dropped more than Notre Dame did for whatever reason.
07:03But here's the thing is, I just asked you, you've been saying for the last two weeks that the Canes take care of their business.
07:09Well, they took care of their business this past week.
07:10They handled Virginia Tech with ease.
07:12Right.
07:12So now Pittsburgh just handles Georgia Tech.
07:15Correct.
07:16Which was having a great season.
07:18Yep.
07:18So if they beat Pitt on the road, eight and three, just got ranked, you're still telling me that Notre Dame deserves to be ahead of the Canes?
07:28I think they positioned themselves so they can make the move to put Miami up ahead.
07:35Do you see how close Miami and Notre Dame are?
07:36I'm asking you, Texas two-step.
07:38Just answer the question.
07:39No.
07:40Okay.
07:42Like, in your eyes, you don't think Miami's a better team than Notre Dame right now?
07:47At this point, no.
07:49I don't.
07:49But if they finish with the same record, which would be 10-2.
07:54Right.
07:55If Notre Dame beat Stanford Saturday night, Miami beats Pittsburgh Saturday night.
07:59Notre Dame's going to kill Stanford.
08:01All right, cool.
08:01Great.
08:02So do the Canes, by the way.
08:03They finish 10-2.
08:05Correct.
08:07You do think Miami should get into the college football playoff before Notre Dame?
08:11Yes.
08:12Because of the head.
08:13Yes.
08:13But that's if both teams finish with the same record.
08:16But if you notice the way it's gone.
08:19See, at no point in time did Notre Dame have to come back from 19th in the country.
08:25Yeah.
08:25Which is, by the way, people were mocking when they were 0-2 and still ranked.
08:32People thought it was unbelievably stupid.
08:34Yeah, they were ranked 23rd.
08:35They were like the only team 0-2 and still ranked in the top 20th.
08:38People thought that was already like, oh, here they go.
08:40Because they didn't want this situation because they get favorable treatment, which has been my entire point on this.
08:45When you start, when did they, where did they start?
08:479, 10?
08:49They started 6th.
08:51They started 6th in the country.
08:52Yeah.
08:52Which, by the way, is just.
08:53They dropped 18 spots.
08:55They're 6th.
08:56Says who?
08:57They dropped 18 spots.
08:59They dropped when they lost to Miami and then they dropped when they lost to Texas A&M.
09:04Right.
09:04But usually if you lose two times in the top 25, you're out of the top.
09:08And part of the reason why they didn't drop out of the top 25.
09:14Because they know the name.
09:14It was because it's two.
09:15Okay.
09:16It's because they know the name, dude.
09:17Like, just, just like, I don't know why this is such a crazy thing.
09:19And what's that happened to me, too?
09:20Because I'm Michigan.
09:22Because we were 0-2.
09:23Yeah.
09:23The Blue Bloods, they, listen, when they went to Blue Bloods, they're going to keep the Blue Bloods.
09:27Yeah, they'll finagle it however they want to.
09:29Blue Bloods, SEC.
09:30See, this argument, okay, that the basic fundamental thing that you guys are off on is this.
09:43You can't complain where you're ranked when you lose to two unranked teams.
09:49You can't.
09:50Fine.
09:51But I can complain if I have the same record as the team that I beat.
09:55Not, but, but see, see, you're looking at, and, and here's the thing.
10:00And instead of being disappointed in what your team did, you're looking outside of that and saying, well, we beat them.
10:08We should be higher than them.
10:09I don't want to say why you can't compartmentalize this.
10:11This is one thing that's crazy to me.
10:12It's one unranked team.
10:13It's, like, one, both things can be true.
10:16The Canes yacked it up, but also this is a stupid system.
10:20Like, the whole point of having, and it's been what it is for years.
10:23We were down to, and we were down to a four.
10:24And you're only complaining about it because of the situation your team is in.
10:28Yeah.
10:28Welcome to sports, dude.
10:29I'm going to complain about the things that have to involve my team.
10:32Congratulations.
10:32You really solved that one, Clouseau.
10:34Like, I mean, like, that's, like, of course, I'm going to be sitting here complaining about what's happening to the Canes.
10:40But also, it's crazy how Notre Dame just gets these insane passes.
10:45For what?
10:45What have they done?
10:47Beat, beat USC?
10:49That's, is that their feather in the cap?
10:51That in Pittsburgh.
10:52Like, come on.
10:54What are we doing here?
10:55Nah, here's the thing.
10:56If I beat you and we finish with the same record, that's the tiebreaker.
11:00I know there's no tiebreaker.
11:01In every sport, ever, ever.
11:03What I've been saying, Vlad, and what I've been saying for the last three weeks is that if you look at the standings,
11:12they're moving Notre Dame and Miami close enough that you can have that argument.
11:20But to have that argument when you're so far apart is ridiculous.
11:26But now that they're closer together, you can have that argument after next week.
11:30That's all I've been saying.
11:32All right.
11:32So here's where to go.
11:33Well, you just said it wasn't an argument, though.
11:35That was my first question to you was.
11:37It's not an argument when you lose to two unranked teams.
11:40Sorry.
11:41Okay.
11:41So you're going to sit here, your same argument, if the games beat Pitt, is still going to be two unranked teams,
11:48that's still going to be your argument and not head-to-head?
11:51Here's what I'm saying.
11:53I'm saying that while you guys are all complaining about where your team is ranked,
11:58if you have been paying attention to the rankings, they have moved Notre Dame and Miami closer together
12:07so that if that presents itself, we can now have an honest conversation.
12:13I'm not saying it's going to happen.
12:15But what I'm saying is because they're so close, it could very well happen.
12:20Yeah, but your main argument still is...
12:23Don't complain about your situation when you lose to two unranked teams.
12:27That's what I'm saying.
12:27That's it.
12:28Okay.
12:28Yes!
12:29But it doesn't matter who you beat.
12:31No!
12:32Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:34Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:34Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:35Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:36Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:37Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:38Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:39Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:40Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:41Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:42Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:43Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:44Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:45Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:46Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:47Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:48Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
12:49Not if you lose to two unranked teams!
