01:05to go back to the drawing board we're gonna be answering that question i hope throughout the
01:09course of this review if we don't answer that question by the end of this review i consider
01:12myself quite a lousy reviewer i would also be a lousy reviewer not to tell you as well how tall
01:17the
01:17figure's gonna stand for that i'm gonna grab my trusty tape measure that did select me though as
01:21the rightful bearer of measurements no no no you don't need to call me the rightful bearer of
01:26measurements i think that's kind of a dorky title anyways for how tall though john stewart's gonna
01:31stand you're looking at the figure being about six and a quarter inches in height in fact the figure
01:36also clocks in around 16 centimeters tall if i am looking at this correctly it does seem like john
01:42stewart's using a similar style of body as batman fully though understanding i know batman's got
01:48some lines on his thighs he's got some lines on his torso but he does seem though like john stewart's

01:53lot more fuller in the torso than barry allen's flash i mean really when you look at flash and then
01:58we
01:58just turn john stewart i don't know does seem like he's a little fuller in the pectoral area than poor
02:04barry allen let's also bring of course in wave to superman that shares this wave with stewart
02:09speaking of also john stewart let's bring in a couple of offerings from mcfarland toys if i just
02:14get this one to stand there was this release here as well and there's also the mosaic suit as well

02:19you prefer that look of him instead if you like the look of john with some armor well the figure
02:22does
02:23come included with a sprue the sprue does have various different constructed armor that you can
02:27actually have attached with the figure looks like he's got himself a pair of blasters a much larger
02:32blaster some armor pieces here and a gauntlet now i have gone in this fully just trusting that i have
02:39enough knowledge of how to put these things together that i had confidence not to cut the
02:43sprue first and get everything assembled onto the figure now this could so totally backfire we're
02:48going to go ahead and remove each of the individual accessories for that i've also got myself my little
02:53clippers here now you could just rip these off but i find it you want to make things a little
02:59neater after all because you don't want leftover pieces of plastic sticking on the edge
03:02so we'll just cut that carefully off there's one side now this does look like it attaches to
03:07this side this piece this half of the blaster doesn't also have a handle so you know that the
03:13two halves have to make a hole
03:18now right now you're thinking yourself this guy can't possibly be expecting us to sit through and
03:22watch him cut every one of these individual pieces off yeah that's actually kind of i was hoping
03:27what you would be doing i'm just it's not going to take very long carefully carefully carefully
03:32cutting this one off maybe let's just rip off the rest of these because again i know
03:37you have places to go people you need to see you got to go pick up the eggs
03:41that reminds me actually i have very little eggs in the fridge right now
03:44this one's giving me a problem so i'm gonna have to go back to using the clippers
03:48clip that off if anybody happens to have a name by the way for
03:52i call them at one time clippy i don't know if that would be a really good name for these
03:56pair
03:57of clippers so wait right now a second man that that is a good name that's a much better name

04:01i could have come up with clippy let's do what clippy does best let's just i won't carefully we
04:08don't actually cut that off cut that cut this this could also be looked at as asmr i don't know
04:15though if i be end up doing this for the other dc core figures and again we've got a couple

04:20that they'll don't go don't go somewhere right now it's getting on their jacket
04:25again i probably could have just done this earlier prior to hitting record we're going to do it one
04:29last time we'll take off the extra bit of plastic save some trouble doing that and we'll cut off
04:34what's left of these pieces now with all that some assembly is going to be required we don't really
04:39need anybody need this piece of sprue no you sprue no we'll throw that off to the side
04:44so these two halves are going to go together there's holes on one side there's pegs on the
04:50other so we'll attach the two together now you wouldn't really be able to have these separate
04:56because one side is going to have a handle the other side isn't just attach the two together
05:01hope that they stay together this side doesn't really look at this that's not staying together as
05:09well as it should and let's get the other blaster put together these two halves again go to
05:14together this stays much better in place does this attach in place i guess that could really
05:20be a side blaster hey how about that and of course he also does have his gauntlet now the gauntlet
05:25is
05:25going to come together but it's going to go fitting over his arm that's i'm assuming that's what we're
05:30supposed to do yeah yeah and thumb would indicate that it's going to go on this side of the figure's
05:35body you could put it on this side but then you would just be wrong any one of your friends
05:39would
05:39then be pointing out to you how wrong you would be um as for how this attaches he does happen
05:45to
05:45have a hole on the back of his body so you could attach that there too you could attach that
05:50this
05:50way and again you could also we just finished doing this you could put that right there too if you
05:55want
05:55to double up his blasters now he sadly only has one gripping hand so with that only one means to
06:03actually be displayed now i guess really if you look at the way that the rings over here most of
06:07the
06:07constructs generally will be on the other hand anyways so i guess it's not necessarily wrong
06:11plus two you can take the gauntlet take the two halves make the hole attaches in place like that
06:19i'm also noticing here let's just turn the hand just a little bit i want to make sure these fit
06:23properly all around his forearm there i had to have it further back snap that in place it is a
06:29little
06:29loosey-goosey there is also a hole here on the side so i guess technically too you could take
06:34yourself the blaster and put that on the top my only one real issue with this though is it does
06:41seem like the gauntlet i don't know why the gauntlet has to sit so loose now had i spent the
06:46time let's
06:47just maybe say like 35 minutes of looking at this figure prior to hitting record i'd already be able
06:53to walk in walk through this with you guys be able to tell you guys yeah like the gauntlet which
06:59just
06:59to get the two halves away from one another maybe it goes maybe it does go up there let's try
07:04putting
07:05it further up and just see if that fixes the problem because i had a problem right now maybe
07:10that does maybe that does does it turn this way because really you have to line the oh maybe the
07:17hand
07:17goes that way that's what it was butterfingers me snap that better in place there we go now that
07:25fits better in place and of course you can also take yourself the blaster the blaster can go on the
07:30top you could also take this blaster we'll attach it here maybe maybe like that and you can also
07:37attach that onto the side we've just like tripled things up i would look at that and i would think
07:42that that's excessive does anybody really need to have that much going on on one arm i mean really
07:47this other arm is just completely left behind you can also take his armor let's move his arm out of
07:52the way the armor snaps over to the front and by making also use the peg that's on the back
07:57of the
07:57body those two halves come together and now you got yourself some armor on the front of his body
08:02you know i gotta say that's not that bad one thing though is missing with all the things that i've
08:07just
08:07finished doing to john stewart he doesn't have a lantern i feel like i don't know really what what
08:13would you get rid of in order to give this guy a lantern maybe just they could have included that
08:18as a
08:18separate piece as well i know that's all this extra plastic that goes into this figure and
08:22technically he already has more than an abundance of things anyways but i feel like not having a
08:27lantern green lantern should automatically come included with them anyways though that's what
08:31john stewart looks like fully armored up two blasters attached together the gauntlet and the armor i'm
08:36giving you guys explanation for everything you're currently already seeing for yourself anyways
08:42short of maybe missing yes the lantern i think he actually looks pretty good with everything that's on
08:47in his body currently we'll just take everything off not lose everything in the process we'll put
08:52that right over there also because the hole had to be occupied with the back of his armor piece
08:56there's now no place to store the extra larger blaster we'll take that all off put this back off to
09:04the side here we'll come back to that for the final looks of the figure and then we'll fully arm

09:07guy up for the head sculpt of john stewart i don't think it's all that bad it suffers sort of
09:12i feel
09:12the same problem as superman that's a whole lot of s's in the fact that the figures do have really
09:18long faces why the long face this seems to be a trend right now that mattel is doing with a
09:23lot of
09:23their i say a lot so far i've really only noticed it with two of the figures i didn't notice
09:28it really
09:28much as much with batman and certainly not as much with flash but wave two i noticed that a lot
09:33more
09:33the head sculpt is good for what it is i like the way that they've also given him a haircut
09:39just prior to
09:40getting this guy released the head sculpt again looks really good in this figure are you guys
09:43currently watching lanterns i'm three episodes in at the well at the time there's only three episodes
09:48that have been aired so far i gotta say i'm liking the show liking a lot i love hal jordan
09:53i feel like
09:54he's sort of taken a backseat to john stewart but overall i do think the show has really done well
09:57so far
09:59as for how tall or how well the figure's done here of course he does have his green lantern symbol
10:03there on the front of his chest i feel like maybe it's too high on his chest or maybe it's
10:09just the fact
10:09that the shoulder this this part of his shoulder the part that's all in green maybe that needed to be
10:15a little bit higher i guess it doesn't really bother me all that much one thing i gotta say that
10:20does bother
10:20me a lot is why they chose to paint his knees and the tops of his of his thighs tops
10:26of his thighs
10:27the tops of his calves he does have already natural selection of where the boots are going to end
10:32i mean he has a cut right here anyways that that would allow the boot to rotate all the way
10:36around
10:37i feel like if anything i could look at that and think that that would be a good stopping point
10:41don't go any further past this point and i feel like the rest of the suit should have really been
10:45black by going this far up i feel like this looks like a mistake like by accident they actually
10:51painted a lot more of the figure than they really needed to do most of the time again like for
10:55john
10:55stewart he tends to only really have green boots even if they go a little further up i don't feel
11:00like they needed to go right up to his knees plus two it does seem like they've likely molded this
11:05in
11:06green plastic and the parts above it they've painted in green so they don't really quite match
11:11that's just a bummer i don't like the fact that the knees and the top of the calf had to
11:15be painted
11:16just like by that that alone i think that could have just been left like this in black
11:20and just had the boot it's right there the cut tells you where you need to stop the paint
11:25one thing i also noticed though about john is that he's really loose he's loose in this knee
11:30he's not so bad in this knee so i hope that this isn't already signs that the mold's been used

11:35much speaking again of the mold i mean again like if you look at superman and you look at
11:39john stewart i mean they do have kind of again like the full full top torso so he's a little
11:44thicker
11:45than barry allen he doesn't have of course superman's lines there on the top of the torso nor does he
11:50have
11:50it here in his thighs so he's a little bit more smoother of a build smoother of a mold
11:55and i'm sure they could probably easily use this body for future figures
11:59by the way again showing you guys what the ring looks like if you can see that does look like
12:04they've actually sculpted something on the end of that ring it's not just a blob of paint
12:09so again like it looks good he's a good looking john stewart if anything could be said for this guy
12:14i just don't like that out of the packaging his one leg is already like this leg's starting to get
12:19there it's not there yet this leg unfortunately is already getting out of the packaging is already
12:24excessively loose and again i just don't feel like they didn't need to paint the knees they
12:28didn't need to paint this part the the top of the boots was more than enough green he didn't need

12:33have any more further green after that point speaking of points speaking of points of articulation
12:39the figure is going to have a head that rotates all the way around it is on a ball joint
12:44i do like
12:45though at least that they've actually painted this part to his neck so that i mean they could have
12:49easily just had this part of his neck from a suit go all the way up to the top of
12:53his head but by
12:55going in there and painting just that little bit of extra brown shows that they care and i appreciate
12:59that but again like the head does move up and down so if you want to have this guy i'm
13:03sure in flying
13:04poses you can also do that as well head does also rock back and forth there too shoulders rotate or
13:10at
13:11least the shoulders allow the arms to rotate all the way around you can hinge them out 90 degrees no
13:15problems there nothing in the bicep i mean that's territory we've already covered by now
13:20the arms do rotate back and forth there's a single hinge only in the elbow hands rotate all the way
13:25around those also hinge back and forth look at that look at that look at that
13:34waist swivels uh the legs do split they're on ball joints legs go forward and back three quarters
13:40of the way up the thigh there's a swivel cut that allows the leg to rotate all the way around
13:44a double hinge in the knee unfortunately again like this knee is loose and he does also have
13:48swivels where the boots are separately attached he does have no ankle articulation so don't force
13:54anything there's nothing there to be forced the figure does also have peggles on the bottoms of
13:58the figure's feet for the most part i like john i mean like yes i'm little miffed the fact that
14:04this
14:04guy is after all a green lantern and yet he doesn't include a green lantern as one of his i
14:08wouldn't
14:08necessarily say his constructs but with all the extra things that they actually throw at this figure
14:13like armor pieces it comes included again with two halves of a blaster so you get two blasters and
14:18they also attach to one another and that also attaches on the back of his body and he also
14:22comes included with the gauntlet you know i kind of look at all these things i think to myself like
14:27could they have sacrificed maybe one in favor of a lantern maybe this glove they could i don't know
14:32like the glove's kind of cool too that again you can also take yourself the blaster put it on the
14:36top
14:37that's high levels of excessive excessive uh accessory attaching but still though i like the
14:43fact that i mean as a kid kid would love being able to attach pieces like that onto john store
14:48i guess the only thing really as a as a takeaway of one thing that bothers me about the figure
14:53i have
14:53to say it's the paint i don't like that his knees had to be painted or anything below his knee
14:58i think again like the boots was more than enough to be in green by having that part painted makes

15:03like it was accidentally done it's not for that though i think overall aside from also having very
15:08long of a face why why the long face i think john stewart is well welcomed a new figure that
15:14we're
15:14getting from wave two i mean really again considering that the rest of this wave first half has been two
15:19new figures a superman john stewart the second half again is going to be another batman and technically
15:24is also going to be another batman still it's the jokerized version of him so again i feel like some
15:29of
15:29this wave has been already wasted by having too many cape crusaders thrown into the mix but again
15:34we got two good new figures out of it again superman and john stewart here that the john stewart's
15:39yearbook photo has most likely to be excessive get a good look at how much is going on here with
15:44john
15:45stewart armored on the front and back of his body he's got a gauntlet with a blaster attached to the
15:49top of it and he's also got a late larger laser cannon in the other hand still unfortunately though
15:55he's missing a lantern altogether he's not the only lantern from the core line that is also going
16:00to be missing a lantern packed and shipped already there's a three pack that includes you guessed
16:05another batman mr freeze of all things and hal jordan now hal jordan what's interesting about him is he
16:11does come in clue with a construct it does look like it's going to be an energy created chainsaw i
16:16have
16:16that set currently being shipped it should be arriving at my doorstep any day now and when we do
16:21eventually get around to looking at that i will be bringing back john stewart and you can see the
16:24differences between the two figures john and hal do seem like they are using the same bodies what's
16:29interesting though is hal jordan unlike the john stewart that i had problems with this
16:34hal doesn't actually have painted knees or painted tops of his calves he only just has the bottom parts
16:40of his boots so i sort of question why they chose not to do the same thing with john stewart
16:45and not
16:46just only have the molded plastic boots in green and not paint anything above it it just feels i look
16:52at
16:52that even if you made the knee joint black and that everything below it let's just say john stewart
16:58you want to make the valid argument john stewart's got longer boots than maybe hal he should have longer
17:03boots than going past the point of where that articulation point is okay let's just entertain that
17:09idea for a second i don't think you still could have stopped at the knee i don't think there was
17:13a
17:13reason to paint the kneecap as well the head sculpt looks good he's a little again long in the face
17:18but
17:18that seemed to be something that goes with this wave so far superman had it uh hal jordan john stewart
17:23i should say has it i don't think hal jordan has it it looks like he probably has himself a
17:27normal

17:38he's called green lantern and i think that figure really should have had it i also feel like it's a
17:43concerning issue that already waved to into this line and i already have loose legs on a figure i
17:48don't think that that should be the case getting this guy immediately out of his plastic prison yet
17:52john stewart has loose knees well i shouldn't say that not pluralized singular he has one loose knee
