00:20Here's your look at the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse McFarlane Collector's Edition Gold
00:25Label Collection Green Lantern Kilowog.
00:34A brilliant genetist on his home world, Bolivax, Vic Kilowog is proud to serve as Green Lantern
00:40of Sector 674.
00:41Following the destruction of his planet during the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, Kilowog
00:46found purpose training new Green Lantern recruits, teaching essential tools to survive the most
00:51dangerous job in the universe.
00:53Kilowog was up for the task that he didn't need himself a rainer.
00:56Sold originally in a two-pack, along with Green Lantern member Kyle Rayner, since then
01:01though McFarlane Toys has split the duo up, releasing not just the Kilowog on his own, but also
01:06infused with Fear.
01:07He's getting a Yellow Lantern release as well.
01:10Honestly though, I can't see myself really getting the Yellow Lantern Kilowog.
01:14I'm perfectly content just to have the green version of him along with the rest of my Green
01:17Lantern core.
01:18And speaking also of Kyle Rayner, Kyle Rayner is also getting a standalone release.
01:23But I do think though, he's going to get a slightly different retooled head.
01:26Kilowog, as far as I know, is getting the exact same.
01:29This is the same figure that got released in that two-pack.
01:32For how tall though the figure is going to stand, Kilowog is quite tall.
01:35He's actually clocking almost nine inches in height, working out to be a figure that's a
01:40little over 22 centimeters tall.
01:42Sampling some figures from different sectors.
01:44Here's what the figure looks like with Green Lantern Hal Jordan.
01:47Now, I could have also brought in the Silver Age Classic Hal, as that's my favorite character
01:52or my favorite version of the character.
01:53But I just feel though, that considering I'm also bringing in all these other figures that
01:57are using the same body, I did want to kind of stick with this one, even though really
02:00to be fair, it's not my favorite Jordan.
02:03In the meantime, while I was yammering on away though, here's also what the figure looks
02:06like with Jon Stewart.
02:07Here's also what he looks like with Tomar Ray.
02:10And he's still a bit of a jerk, but here's also what he looks like with Guy Gardner.
02:14Along with Kilowog, you get a card.
02:16The card does actually have some pretty cool artwork featured on the front.
02:19It does also happen to have McFarlane Collector's Edition branded on the side.
02:23The back of the card doesn't give necessarily, well, it gives his real name, but the real
02:28name is part of the paragraph.
02:29It doesn't have it up here.
02:31Usually when it has real names, they tend to be on their own.
02:34But this time around though, Kilowog's name is actually within the paragraph.
02:38It's a shiny card too.
02:40I'm hoping that the camera's able to pick that all up.
02:42And actually right here, it does say Green Lantern and it does say Datafile.
02:47But just look how reflective that is.
02:49I mean, I'm asking a lot of this.
02:50I'm asking a lot of you guys to be able to make that out.
02:53It is quite a shiny card.
02:56Let's move that out of the way.
02:57The figure does also come in with a display stand.
02:59A tall order this lone peg is going to have to face, keeping just the weight of this larger
03:04figure on top of the display stand.
03:06And it does have, of course, the peg, it does also have the DC Classic logo branded here
03:11in silver.
03:12But I always appreciate the fact that the figures like this do come in with display stands,
03:16especially one like Kilowog.
03:17He's very top heavy.
03:19I'm going to talk more about that in a moment.
03:21The figure does also come included with his lantern.
03:24I don't know though, if the one that was with Kyle Rayner did actually come included with
03:29the lantern or if this is the first time we're getting this.

03:33Still though, I really like the look of this lantern.
03:36It's large.
03:38It's made, of course, translucent green plastic.
03:40Not that I'd be able to really wave my hand behind it, but it's a really nice looking lantern.
03:45The problem with though, the fact he gets the lantern and a pretty cool looking hammer,
03:50which is actually the same hammer that we got with that two pack.
03:54The problem with that though, is the figure only really has one gripping hand.
03:57It's this one right over here.
03:59The other hand is actually already closed and it's the one that has the ring on the end of it.
04:03Now they could have technically given him also a swappable hand so that he, yeah,
04:07could have had the lantern in one hand.
04:09Yeah, and could have had also the hammer in the other.
04:11But unfortunately though, the figure only gets one.
04:14So you have to be very selective as to which one.
04:16I guess while he's not necessarily needing a charge,
04:19he was working off of 1% like Hal Jordan was in the series.
04:23Then yeah, he probably will want to make sure he's got his battery nearby.
04:26In the meantime though, I'm sure he's just happy to smash through things with his energy projected hammer.
04:32Get a good look at that hammer, by the way.
04:34It does have the logo of the DC, of the Green Lantern Core in there as well.
04:38And it really, again, like it's a very intricate looking hammer.
04:41I don't know, like if I had the powers of projecting with a ring.
04:45I mean, would you go to that much of a detail?
04:48Or would you really just think to yourself,
04:50I just need something like a big club.
04:51Just a big caveman club and have that swung around.
04:55I don't know if I would go down so much to like the details of it.
04:59But I gotta say, like the hammer looks really cool.
05:01To get this into his hand, by the way,
05:04one thing I've noticed about the plastic at least,
05:06is it's soft enough that you don't really have to worry about heating it up right away in hot water.
05:10I say that though.
05:12Let's just pry the plastic away from the palm.
05:14Now, I did technically cheat.
05:16I guess I did really heat this up prior to hitting review.
05:19But since then, I've been talking.
05:21The plastic has had time to cool.
05:23Let's go ahead and get the hammer in his hand.
05:25I believe also the yellow lantern, Kilowog,
05:28is also going to come and include with the exact same hammer too.
05:30Just instead of green, it's going to be yellow instead.
05:34Looks good.
05:36It's only going to then cause even more chaos
05:38when it comes to getting the figure to stand upright.
05:40Like I said, he has large feet.
05:42But he's got a lot of weight up here.
05:45So you may want to make sure if you get this guy in any other pose
05:47than just standing in the A shape,
05:50then yeah, you may want to make use of the display stand.
05:52It's almost like the company needed to include a display stand.
05:54In fact, they did.
05:57Let's take the accessory out of his hand.
05:59Could he have included extra hands?
06:02Sure.
06:02I mean, yeah, in a perfect world,
06:03extra hands would have been going an extra mile.
06:05But he has at least, though, to his credits,
06:08the green lantern ring.
06:10Now, the ring doesn't look like
06:12it does actually have anything on the end of it.
06:14I feel like maybe, again, a missed opportunity.
06:16With something so large like this,
06:18could they not have done a better job of sculpting
06:20maybe like the lantern on the end of it?
06:22Or maybe, I don't know,
06:23Kilowog maybe doesn't have it on the end of it.
06:25I feel like it would probably be the other way around.
06:28Head sculpt, though, for Kilowog, fantastic.
06:32I kind of really was disappointed initially
06:34that I didn't get the Kilowog Kyle Reiner 2-pack,
06:37whether it was an Amazon exclusive.
06:39It was just a more expensive set to get
06:41because eventually, like, you know,
06:42if you get two figures in a box set,
06:44you're always going to be paying
06:45a little bit more extra dollar.
06:47It might have just been the case.
06:48I just didn't have the money at the time
06:50to shell out getting two of the green lanterns.
06:53But now getting finally a standalone release of this guy,
06:56the one thing I will say is
06:58while this looks to be using the exact same mold
07:00as that 2-pack,
07:01I do think that the Kyle is going to be
07:03a little bit different with a different mask.
07:06I don't know.
07:08That means, unfortunately,
07:09I'm going to probably have to try to track down
07:11a loose version of that Kyle Reiner
07:12because I did really like the one
07:13that was along with Kilowog,
07:15and I don't think the one
07:16that we're getting standalone
07:17is going to look like that one.
07:19At least, though,
07:20one thing can be said for this Kilowog,
07:22mold-wise,
07:23it does look like it's exactly the same
07:25than the other one.
07:26The one thing that's different, though,
07:27about the bodies
07:28is that they have now added
07:29a lot more of a shinier green paint to this.
07:32The original Kilowog,
07:33while looking to be using the same body,
07:36had more of a matte green.
07:37So as the example,
07:39I'm just going to bring back in
07:40Hal Jordan here.
07:41If you really like kind of more
07:42of the matte green color,
07:43that Kilowog probably would be
07:45a better release for you.
07:46This one, again,
07:47does get a lot more
07:48of the shinier green added in there.
07:50Of course,
07:51it's got the larger DC,
07:52I keep saying that,
07:53the larger Green Lantern logo there,
07:55which isn't actually,
07:57it's sculpted,
07:58where you can kind of feel
07:59like the outline is here,
08:01but the part of the lantern itself
08:03isn't sculpted.
08:04So it's just like a circular disc
08:06that they've molded to the body,
08:07which, again,
08:08I can't think that they're probably
08:09going to be using his body again,
08:10except for giving him
08:11a yellow lantern treatment.
08:13Nice sculpting overall,
08:14though,
08:15to the legs.
08:16It's not just that they've used
08:17a smooth plastic here.
08:18There's a lot of cool sculpting
08:20that goes into the leg itself.
08:21It's kind of got like this
08:23meshing sculpted in there.
08:25Of course,
08:25within the meshing gets broken up.
08:27There's some smoother patches there.
08:28But really,
08:29again,
08:29I like this metallic green.
08:32I mean,
08:32again,
08:33in a perfect world,
08:34yeah,
08:34maybe I would have probably
08:35preferred to have
08:36the matte green instead,
08:37just because,
08:37again,
08:38like just to compare them
08:39along with the other
08:39green lanterns,
08:40you kind of want to keep
08:41the colors consistent,
08:42even though the costumes
08:43may change just a little bit.
08:46For Kilowog's articulation,
08:47if you're familiar
08:48with the previous one,
08:49you'll probably be familiar
08:50with this one as well.
08:51His pig face,
08:53I don't know if you really
08:54want to be calling that
08:54to his face,
08:55is actually on a ball joint.
08:57Now,
08:57the way that the ball joint works
08:58is that it faces this way
09:01rather than straight up.
09:02So you'll notice,
09:04though,
09:04that when it comes to
09:04turning the figure's head,
09:05it turns on an angle,
09:07it doesn't turn
09:08just straight forward and back.
09:09The head can look up
09:10only just a little bit,
09:12it can also look down,
09:13down low,
09:13and you can also rock it
09:14back and forth as well.
09:16The top of the torso
09:17is going to be
09:18on a very good ball joint.
09:19I was thinking,
09:20though,
09:20with the size of his body,
09:21he probably wouldn't be able
09:22to move that much,
09:23but I was pleasantly surprised
09:25you can actually move it
09:26quite a bit.
09:27He does also have
09:28an abdomen ball joint
09:29there as well.
09:30Between those two,
09:32collectively,
09:32you can get quite a lot
09:33of motion going.
09:34The arms rotate
09:35all the way around,
09:35of course,
09:36with Kilowog,
09:37like every other DC
09:38multiverse figure,
09:39he has some decent
09:39levels of posability.
09:41Hindered a little bit
09:42by just the fact
09:42he's got these larger
09:43tree trunk arms,
09:44but it doesn't seem
09:45to limit really
09:46what you can do
09:47with them.
09:48He has a bicep swivel,
09:50does have a single hinge.
09:52Well,
09:52I shouldn't really say
09:52he has a single hinge
09:53because when you look
09:55at a hinge like this,
09:56it actually moves
09:57almost to the degree
09:58of what a double hinge
09:59would normally afford you.
10:01He just seems to only
10:02do it with one.
10:03He only needs to do it
10:04really with one.
10:05The hands rotate
10:06all the way around.
10:07Hingeing, of course,
10:08back and forth as well.
10:09The legs,
10:10if we just get the arms
10:11out of the way.
10:11Legs split out.
10:13I'm not stuttering,
10:15by the way.
10:15I mean, again,
10:16he has the ratcheted joints.
10:17I just kind of wanted
10:18to do that so you guys
10:19can hear the ratcheted joints
10:20work.
10:21Legs go forward
10:22and back.
10:23They are a little limited,
10:25unfortunately,
10:26just by how tight
10:27his trunks are.
10:29Man, oh man,
10:29I think he probably
10:30could have gone with
10:31maybe slightly larger trunks.
10:32But again,
10:33the legs are a little
10:34bit more limited.
10:34You can only go
10:35further forward that much
10:37and when it comes to back.
10:38Actually,
10:38he can move his leg back
10:39a lot better
10:40than he can move it forward.
10:41There's a swivel there
10:42at the top of the thigh.
10:44Double hinge on the knee.
10:46Double hinge on the knee.
10:47No articulation here
10:48to the boots.
10:49It's just more
10:50one continued sculpt
10:51to the rest of the calf.
10:52However,
10:53though,
10:53you can move the ankle
10:54up and down.
10:55Ratcheted joints there too.
10:56Rock back and forth.
10:57Doesn't seem like
10:58there's ratchets there.
10:59And the figure,
11:00despite having such large feet,
11:02Kilowog does actually
11:03have ankle articulation too.
11:06Now,
11:07if we were to say,
11:08look at the yellow lantern
11:09Kilowog,
11:10I'd essentially be kind of
11:11describing all the same things.
11:12The fact he does have
11:13a metallic paint finish,
11:15except again,
11:16instead of the green,
11:17we'd be swapping it out
11:18with the yellow.
11:20If you don't like,
11:21if you don't really
11:21as much like
11:22the look of the metallic colors,
11:24then yeah,
11:24you may have to then
11:25source out the two-pack
11:27that was with Kyle Rayner.
11:29Because again,
11:29like it's using the same body.
11:31The only thing
11:32that it was doing differently though,
11:33was that the green
11:34was more a matte finish.
11:36I mean,
11:37again,
11:37like I probably would have gone
11:38more the route
11:39of tracking down that two-pack.
11:41I guess now
11:41it probably would have been
11:42a little bit more expensive
11:43to get a set like that.
11:45But like,
11:45Kilowog would have had
11:46the same hammer accessory,
11:47so that really hasn't changed at all.
11:49I don't know if he actually
11:50came included also
11:51with the lantern accessory,
11:53but even if he didn't,
11:55you know,
11:55again,
11:56I like the fact
11:56that this figure
11:56does come included with it.
11:58Sort of pick your colors,
11:59pick your poison.
12:00If you like,
12:01again,
12:01like the matte green,
12:02maybe instead of getting this one,
12:04go with the one
12:04that comes with Rayner.
12:06If you like though,
12:07the metallic green,
12:08and again,
12:08I like that at least
12:09McFarlane didn't simply
12:10just release this guy,
12:12cut up the two-pack,
12:13and just release this guy separately.
12:15They gave him at least a reason
12:17that if you already had
12:18the two-pack already
12:19in your collection shelf,
12:20there's at least reasons
12:21why you'd want to get this mold.
12:23Again,
12:24that other yellow lantern Kilowog
12:26also seemed to be
12:27a convention exclusive,
12:29so which means
12:30translating that
12:31to off-seeing dollars
12:32will make that guy
12:33a little bit more expensive
12:34than your standard
12:35regular release.
12:36This guy will be
12:37a little bit more expensive
12:38than your traditional
12:39DC multiverse figures
12:40just for the fact
12:41that obviously
12:41a lot more plastic
12:42went into producing him.
12:43He seems,
12:44I think,
12:44also to benefit
12:45from the fact
12:46he has one additional
12:47accessory
12:47than the previous
12:48two-pack did.
12:49He has the hammer,
12:51which the other one did,
12:52but I believe,
12:52again,
12:53he comes included
12:53with the lantern,
12:54which,
12:55as far as I know,
12:56didn't have that
12:57with the other
12:57previous figure.
12:58Because of also
12:59Kyle Rayner,
13:00Rayner had a sort of
13:01a weird samurai vest,
13:03a sword,
13:04and kind of this
13:04flaming large broad sword,
13:06so he kind of
13:07also ate up the cost
13:08of what the price
13:09of that two-pack
13:10would have been.
13:10If you don't necessarily
13:11like the Rayner,
13:12he just only was
13:13really interested
13:14in getting the Kilowog,
13:15then,
13:15yeah,
13:15again,
13:16there's also more
13:16reasons to get
13:17this standalone
13:18release of him
13:19and just completely
13:20pass on Kyle
13:21when eventually
13:22he gets his own release.
13:24Again,
13:24I like the colors
13:25on this one.
13:26The matte green
13:27also would have worked
13:27really well for my shelf,
13:28but in the end,
13:29like,
13:30the metallic finish
13:31doesn't bother me too much.
13:32I'm just happy
13:33more than anything else
13:33that I finally have
13:34a Kilowog
13:35to be displayed
13:36with the rest
13:36of my lanterns.
13:38Now,
13:38again,
13:38I grabbed this
13:39on the Facebook Marketplace.
13:40It's not to say
13:41that you have to go
13:42through the Marketplace
13:42in order to get one
13:43for yourself.
13:44I just,
13:45it's slim pickings,
13:46slim pickings here
13:47in local retail stores.
13:49We have like next to nothing
13:50when it comes to
13:50brand new DC Multiverse figures,
13:52so a lot of times
13:53I'll either go to eBay
13:54or I'll go on
13:55the Facebook Marketplace.
13:56I benefited by the latter.
13:57I end up going
13:58on the Marketplace
13:59and I grabbed this
13:59from Popeye the Toy Man.
