03:17Tonight, we are breaking down all things WWE, Netflix, Raw, talking about what happened, what our reactions to it is,
03:24and really, where is WWE going from here with some of these angles?
03:28The night starts off where I kind of expected it to.
03:31The vision in the ring after the beatdown on Obafemi at Sunday night's main event.
03:36I expected them to open the show.
03:38They do, they're out there being braggadocious.
03:40When you hear them get interrupted by Akira Tozawa, I thought to myself, like, good God, are we really going
03:47to do this again?
03:49And then the fans kind of lost their mind because Otis comes back when they hit his music.
03:53Now, listen, I love Otis.
03:56I've always thought Otis could do a whole lot more than what they've done with him.
03:59I really thought they had some momentum back when he and Braun Strowman were going on during the pandemic era
04:04of things.
04:04But the luster is off the Otis bandwagon for me.
04:07I already know he's going to lose every single match.
04:10He didn't technically lose this match, but whatever.
04:13But he comes out.
04:14I would have been much more excited if this was Chad Gable and we waited a week for this.
04:20Because Chad Gable is going to face Dragon Lee in Mexico this coming week.
04:24After that match, what is Chad Gable doing?
04:26This would have been the perfect time for the two of them to come out and then have Chad Gable
04:31come out because there's history there.
04:32And for him to be involved in something with Braun or with Austin Theory or somebody like that, I would
04:38be heavily in favor of.
04:40And I think he could bring out some great stuff from those characters.
04:44However, we don't get that.
04:45We get an Otis match going against Austin Theory.
04:49And at the end of the match, when Otis looks like he's got Theory in trouble, here comes Bronson Reed.
04:53And the rest of the division, they attack him and it's, you know, five on two, thorough beatdown.
04:59In my opinion, very boring.
05:01It really, really was.
05:03Somebody else needed to get involved.
05:04And for somebody who, like, is so, you know, reported on being so well-liked in the background and storyline
05:10-wise so well-liked, there's never anybody coming out to help anybody anymore.
05:13I find it oddly strange.
05:14If you watch wrestling back in the 80s, even the early 90s, when good guys were really getting beat down,
05:19a whole host of good guys would come out to help them.
05:21You know what I mean?
05:22We don't see much of that anymore.
05:24The only time we see it is when Becky runs out to save Stephanie.
05:27And the reason she does that is because she wants a title shot.
05:29So it's not the same.
05:30It's not because you're a good guy.
05:32So we have this situation.
05:33And then eventually, Oba does come out.
05:35Now, they said earlier he wasn't medically cleared.
05:37He wouldn't be there.
05:37But he was there.
05:38He came out.
05:39He was laying waste to the vision until the numbers game catches up with him.
05:42And then he eats more tsunamis and more spears and all this.
05:46And the guy's just superhuman.
05:47And I love that.
05:48I think the match on Sunday night's main event when it was supposed to be like who was going to
05:53be the future of the company, we certainly didn't get an answer to that.
05:57And I think the answer really is they both are.
05:59But you're really building Oba as the unstoppable one.
06:02With Bron Breaker, great, he got the upper hand because of outside interference.
06:06But it makes him look weak in comparison, just my opinion.
06:09We did know that later on in the show, we were going to see Bron Breaker get an opportunity to
06:13qualify for Money in the Bank.
06:14We know that Maxine Dupree was also going to get that opportunity.
06:16We saw who was going to be in those matches.
06:18We'll get to those later.
06:19We get this outside of the ring segment.
06:21This really rubbed me the wrong way.
06:23Matt Matthews, who was a comedian influencer from Alabama where they were tonight.
06:28Tonight, he's having a conversation with Jackie Redman at ringside.
06:30The Miz and Kit Wilson, who are SmackDown people, come out and interrupt him complaining because it's his 20th anniversary
06:37in the business and this, that, and the other, taking his TV time.
06:39But it's not your TV time.
06:41Unless you're going to make an announcement that you somehow moved to Raw, he's not taking anything from you because
06:45you're a SmackDown superstar.
06:46It was really a nonsensical segment.
06:48And then they get in the ring.
06:50They drag Matt Matthews over the barricade, put him in the ring.
06:53He hits a Hurricanrana on Kit Wilson, which looked pretty solid.
06:57And then The Miz hits him with a skull-crushing finale and that's it.
07:00They play their music.
07:00They leave.
07:01I don't understand what the point of this segment was other than to get some mainstream news because yet another
07:06celebrity gets involved, gets beat up, whatever.
07:09Not a fan.
07:10Absolutely not a fan.
07:11And I don't know why The Miz was there unless you were going to trade him to Raw, which I
07:14don't really know why you would do that either.
07:16He still has nonsense going on over on SmackDown, Dan Housen and the like.
07:20So, I don't know.
07:21Didn't love that segment.
07:23We'll move on.
07:23Braun Breaker, Rey Mysterio and Ethan Page coming out for their Money in the Bank qualifying match.
07:29I actually love the match because Braun Breaker in this match to me did not seem like the unstoppable force
07:35that I think they keep trying to sell us on that he is.
07:37And I don't think he needs to be that.
07:39I don't think anybody in the company needs to be that because then no one can ever beat that person
07:43except for some like elitist megastar.
07:46And that really limits the field of what you could do for year on year on year when you don't
07:51have people at that level.
07:52So, looking at this, I thought this was a – when I saw this match, I thought this was pretty
07:56solid.
07:56Back and forth, everybody had moments to shine.
07:59Everybody hit some great stuff.
08:01I love the interactions with Braun Breaker and Ethan Page, especially the clothesline off the apron through the table.
08:08I thought this was really good.
08:09It showcased all three superstars.
08:11Rey's got a big match with Omos in Mexico City coming up.
08:13So, this is a great situation with him eating the spear and taking the loss to Braun Breaker, who qualifies
08:18because now he'll have an injury to sell when he's down in Mexico,
08:21which will give the excuse why Omos is probably going to beat him.
08:25The match, like I said, solid stuff.
08:27Then, we get the Sol Ruka, Maxine Dupree, Lyra Valkyria qualifier for the women's money in the bank.
08:34Looking at this match on paper, word came out earlier today that there was going to be a returning superstar
08:39tonight on Raw.
08:40It did not fail.
08:41The match itself was actually pretty good.
08:43I was kind of surprised because Maxine hasn't done a lot in the ring lately.
08:46She didn't seem to have a lot of ring rust.
08:47She hit some good stiff shots.
08:50But, of course, the big return was when Lyra Valkyria has the pin going on, here comes somebody pulling the
08:57referee, Jessica Carr, out of the ring, and it's the returning Bayley.
09:01So, anybody who thought she was going to AEW for all out, not happening.
09:05She's still with WWE.
09:06We knew that, but people kept twisting that gear anyways.
09:11And with her being featured as a return after that way they wrote her off, if she was leaving, I
09:15feel like they would have left her gone.
09:17But because she came back, I have a feeling like this means that she either has or will be re
09:22-signing with the company.
09:23I can't imagine they bring her back just to give her one little run and then say goodbye.
09:27I really just don't see that happening.
09:29This is somebody who probably has a future not only in the wrestling business in WWE, but then as a
09:33coach and player, you know, down in NXT, on the main roster, whatever.
09:37And I think she's so worldly talented.
09:39I think it would be perfect for her.
09:41She comes out, pulls the ref out of the ring, and then Lyra eats a soul snatcher from Sol Ruka
09:45who picks up the win, which you could have seen a mile away.
09:48I'm happy for Sol Ruka, getting a quality win, hitting a really nice soul snatcher.
09:53Love that we got Bayley back.
09:55Lyra's really doing a great job playing into this character.
09:58She gets laid out afterwards.
09:59Bayley's tearing her apart until she jumps over the barricade and runs away like a scolded dog.
10:03Very solid stuff.
10:05We get a video on the 946.
10:07Then we have the Usos and Jacob in the back talking trash about what they're going to do.
10:11And then Jacob settles them down and says, no, listen, we got to be patient with this.
10:15And he tells them, we're going to go back to the locker room.
10:17We're going to make, you know, make our decision on what the play is.
10:20And I thought this was okay for what it was.
10:23I didn't really need this segment because I think it was kind of like reiterating commonsensical stuff.
10:27I think it was just filler of time.
10:29Didn't love it.
10:30From there, we get Joe Hendry, J.D. McDonough, a match I didn't need to see.
10:35Look, let's be honest, Sunday night's main event when Joe Hendry takes a loss to Don Mysterio in the pre
10:40-show, that actually irritated the snot out of me.
10:43I mean, why are you burying Joe Hendry, a guy who is so over?
10:47He's not over at all.
10:48At the end of the match when he wins, because, again, with the match, solid match, McDonough looks like he's
10:53going to win.
10:53You hit Javon Evans' music, who comes out with a Funko Pop giant head of J.D. McDonough.
10:58He headbutts Don Mysterio a few times.
11:01It's a distraction that leads to Joe Hendry getting a win.
11:04All very predictable.
11:05Somewhat very repetitive for the last several months with this whole thing with Don Mysterio and the Judgment Day.
11:11They've really been burying them a lot.
11:14But when you see Joe Hendry waving to the crowd, wave your hands from side to side, some people are
11:19doing it.
11:19Some people couldn't care less because the luster is off of him as well.
11:23Please, WWE, if you hear anything that I ever say, which I'm sure you don't because you don't give a
11:28flying hoot about the fans to begin with,
11:31stop giving us main roster call-ups when you're not ready to actually use the main roster call-ups.
11:36It's kind of ludicrous that someone as popular as Joe Hendry is being jobbed out to Don Mysterio in the
11:41only wins he gets against people like J.D. McDonough.
11:43That's stupid.
11:44It doesn't make sense.
11:46This is a TNA world champion.
11:47This is a guy who has had such a magnetic appearance at WrestleMania.
11:53Everybody wanted to see him.
11:55You dropped the ball, WDB.
11:56You really dropped the ball.
11:57I don't know if this is Triple H, the rest of the creative team.
11:59But people obviously don't see the value in Joe Hendry that a lot of people did previously.
12:03And now, if they don't now, it's not for lack of Joe Hendry trying.
12:07It's not his skill.
12:08It's not his booking.
12:09It's the booking team's decision.
12:11They're the ones screwing this up.
12:13Absolutely hated that part of it.
12:14We get a backstage segment with The Vision and Paul Heyman.
12:17I thought it was interesting when Maxine kind of gets in his face asking about if he saw what happened.
12:22He totally ignores her, ignores Austin Theory.
12:26He ignores Logan Paul, goes straight to Bronson Reed, embraces him, basically tells him how proud he is of him.
12:32Then he goes to Braun Breaker, and he really gives him some attitude about the fact that,
12:37is Obafemi still breathing?
12:40And then he puts his hands on his face.
12:41He's frustrated and just storms off.
12:43This is a very interesting dynamic.
12:46And dare I say, all the Vision segments on this show are the highlight.
12:51They are amazing.
12:52It's starting to get some traction again.
12:55I don't like seeing Austin Theory look like such a jobbed-out punk when they claim they have so much
13:00faith in him,
13:00but this has been pretty, pretty solid.
13:03From there, Liv Morgan, Stephanie Viqueur, Women's Championship.
13:07There was a conversational segment backstage earlier where Becky offered to help her.
13:11She said she didn't need her help, whatever.
13:13Of course, during the match, when she gets the upper hand, it looks like she's going for the win.
13:17Here comes Roxanne Perez.
13:19Here comes Raquel.
13:20Well, Roxanne distracts the ref.
13:22You know, Raquel Rodriguez knocks Stephanie off the turnbuckle.
13:26There's some back and forth.
13:28Becky Lynch does come out and takes out Raquel Rodriguez.
13:30While that's happening, Roxanne Perez slides the championship belt into the ring to live.
13:35Apparently, nobody can see this.
13:36And then Becky comes running around and chases off Roxanne.
13:39Again, it doesn't change the fact that because of what's going on outside the ring, which, again, this doesn't make
13:45sense.
13:46Becky Lynch and Roxanne Perez are allowed to do whatever they want outside the ring.
13:51The referee's job is to pay attention to the match inside the ring.
13:55If they are not on the apron or in the ring, it does not matter what they are doing.
14:00So why was he looking at them?
14:01Well, I know why, because it's the way they booked it.
14:03It just doesn't make sense because it's stupid.
14:05It makes the referee look like he's incompetent.
14:07But your job is to watch your match, not two random people who have nothing to do with the match
14:12outside the ring.
14:13That being said, of course, after Becky chases Roxanne to the back, the referee's back is turned watching them.
14:20And Liv hits Stephanie Vecure with the championship belt and gets the win, retains her championship.
14:25She now has, what, three defenses since she won the thing way back at WrestleMania.
14:29I was so ready for her to lose this match.
14:32I'm ready for Stephanie Vecure and Becky Lynch.
14:35I really am.
14:36I think it's going to be a great feud.
14:36And the biggest thing that bothers me about this is they did nothing with the women's division for months because
14:43the word was they were waiting for Stephanie Vecure because all their plans were based around her.
14:46Now she comes back and it's worthless.
14:50Did you have all the plans were just to get Liv to win the rematch?
14:54Because that's what just happened.
14:55That's all we got.
14:56That's what we waited all those months for.
14:57That's why we had no defenses and no substance for Liv for all those months was so you could just
15:02beat Vecure in their first match when they finally get back in the ring.
15:05Now what happens?
15:06She moves on to Becky Lynch, I guess.
15:09Just doesn't make sense to me.
15:10It's a waste of television time if that's what you're going to do.
15:14That's a waste of that championship.
15:16The final segment of the night, we get the people from the 946, Royce Keys and his OTM buddies and
15:23actually get the Usos and Jacob to come into the ring.
15:26They're calling them out.
15:26But then they're on the Jumbotron and they've got the Usos car and they laid out all the security and
15:31they smashed the car.
15:32And here's what drives me nuts.
15:34If you're going to do a segment like this and you're going to try to have some big pyrotechnic experience,
15:38I'm fine with that.
15:40But then you've got to make it make sense.
15:41Here's what doesn't make sense.
15:43If you watch closely, I forget which one's on the roof.
15:46Lucian Price maybe?
15:47I don't know.
15:48He's on the roof of the car.
15:49They've cut a hole in the top of the car.
15:52He pours the supposed gasoline in the front passenger seat and then drops the jug in the front seat.
16:00Later on, Royce Keys pulls out a Zippo lighter and instead of throwing the lighter in the front seat where
16:06they poured everything,
16:08they throw it in the back seat where you didn't pour anything and it all goes up in flames.
16:12And as they're, you know, getting ready to roll credits, it's exploding out the windows repeatedly.
16:16This is stupid pyrotechnic, like, 101.
16:21If you're going to put the gas in the front, you blow up the front.
16:24If you wanted to put the gas in the back or blow up the back, put it in the back.
16:28Just make it make sense.
16:29This doesn't make sense.
16:30And you crap on what could have been a really great segment.
16:33I love the attitude of Royce Keys in the OTM.
16:35I love the 946.
16:37I think it's great.
16:37They need an injection of some brutality on the show, some old school era brutality.
16:42I'm okay with all that.
16:44But I do have to say this.
16:46I'm really getting stressed that we don't have a Seth Rollins on the show.
16:49I thought he could have come out during the Vision segment.
16:51Would have made a lot of sense with the history.
16:52We need him back on the show.
16:55Where's Roman Reigns?
16:56He should be there every week right now.
16:58He just should be.
16:58I don't know what WWE is doing.
16:59I get it.
17:00He's got limited dates.
17:01I don't care.
17:02Your world champion should be there more frequently.
17:04I've been complaining about that all the way back to when Brock Lesnar used to do that
17:06and when Roman Reigns was on his Reign of Terror.
17:08Like, your guy should be there.
17:10That's just my opinion.
17:11We didn't have him or Chad Gable.
17:13It's kind of ridiculous.
17:14From there, you've now got how many factions that are going to claim to run the show?
17:19Roman's claiming the same thing that Braun Breaker's claiming, which is the same thing 946 is claiming.
17:24I mean, how many of these are we going to have?
17:26And how many teams are you going to put into war games?
17:28And you've still got teams over on SmackDown.
17:30Like, what are we doing right now?
17:32I don't understand it.
17:34And I'm sure they've got a long-term plan.
17:35It's just that most of their long-term plans lately haven't meant squat to me.
17:38I don't know.
17:38Again, I do this every week.
17:40If I'm rating this show scale 1 to 5 stars, I'm giving this one a 3.
17:44Could have been a 4 easy.
17:45It's an average show.
17:47I could care less for a comedian from Alabama to be on the show to get beat up.
17:52I don't care about that.
17:53I don't need all the backstage nonsense.
17:55You know, I love all the Vision stuff.
17:58Love the return of Bayley.
17:59Hated the ending segment.
18:00The ending segment really soured me on a lot of what we saw tonight.
18:04So, I don't know.
