00:00My name's Garth Short. My business is Hunter Precision Agriculture. We're a family-owned
00:05business based in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales and we believe we're some of the early
00:11pioneers of aerial application for drones in Australia. We've stumbled into drones through
00:19the drought and COVID back in the day. We were chicken farming at the time and the water,
00:26we ran out of water on the farm so the chickens went and then we had a commercial greenhouse
00:32for basil and the COVID come along and took care of that. I've always been interested in
00:38first or best technology so I didn't want to use, I wanted to reduce the amount of chemical I put
00:46on
00:46our own farm. I couldn't see the justification in using and spending the money on big spray rigs
00:53so I went down the rabbit hole of drones. I was one of the first commercial contractors
01:00to be involved with drones and me being me, I'd like to be the best that we possibly can.
01:08I worked with the Northern Territory Government to develop their aerial application regulations,
01:14Victoria and New South Wales. Also worked with National Parks of New South Wales on their regulations.
01:20So we're very active in being proactive to develop our industry. We've got now here the new drones
01:31that we've had built for us by a company called SBS Automation in New Zealand. Very high quality,
01:40they're an aircraft built to an aircraft standard which Casr was very happy for and the big thing with
01:48these is they're a fuel-injected two-stroke engine. So it's the first of its kind globally.
01:55I get to work in some of the most beautiful places in the world. You know, we work on the
02:00beaches,
02:01you know, whilst we're there we get to watch the whale migration going north and south.
02:08I think one of the highlights is getting myself to a position where I can actually change, have a gentle
02:20and
02:20a humble change of practice of farming. And I think with the equipment that we've developed now,
02:27we are actually going to have a positive change for the farmers.
02:32we're going to have to go through to our resource since they're working with them
