00:00Hi I'm Kent Rochester and together with my wife Michelle, our two boys and our
00:05on-farm team we're farming at Many Peaks on the South Coast WA and I'm really
00:10chuffed to have been nominated for the Innovation Award. Our farm buys in
00:17yearlings and wieners and finishes year-round grass-fed beef to supply
00:22around 3,000 bodies to a couple of cool local markets. Over the last few years
00:28we've implemented some ag tech to help us with this. We use satellite pasture
00:33monitoring to measure our grass, Optua in paddock weighing to measure the animals
00:39daily gains and now Gallagher East Shepherd virtual fencing to help us
00:47allocate the cows the exact amount of grass they require, sometimes up to seven
00:52little slices each day to get this exactly right. We're grateful to have been
01:00given some help from the Coles Nurture Fund along the way to achieve our virtual
01:05fencing goals and now run over 1,200 animals and a pretty much farm-wide
01:11virtual fencing platform. I'm super excited to see where this ag tech and
01:18these things can take our industry over the next few years.
