00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name.
03:14Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace,
03:24that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind, through Jesus Christ our
03:32Lord.
03:33Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
04:10Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
04:39as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
04:43world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:57Psalm 78
04:59Pay attention, my people, to my instruction.
05:03Listen to the words I speak.
05:06I will sing a song that imparts wisdom.
05:09I will make insightful observations about the past.
05:14What we have heard and learned,
05:16that which our ancestors have told us,
05:19we will not hide from their descendants.
05:22We will tell the next generation about the Lord's praiseworthy acts,
05:26about his strength,
05:28and the amazing things he has done.
05:31He has established a rule in Jacob.
05:33He has set up a law in Israel.
05:37He commanded our ancestors to make his deeds known to their descendants,
05:42so that the next generation,
05:44children yet to be born,
05:47might know about them.
05:49They will grow up and tell their descendants about them.
05:54Then they will place their confidence in God.
05:57They will not forget the works of God,
05:59and they will obey his commands.
06:02Then they will not be like their ancestors,
06:05who were a stubborn and rebellious generation,
06:08a generation that was not committed and faithful to God.
06:13The Ephraimites were armed with bows,
06:16but they retreated in a day of battle.
06:19They did not keep their covenant with God.
06:21They refused to obey his law.
06:24They forgot about what he had done,
06:27the amazing things he had shown.
06:31He did amazing things in the sight of their ancestors,
06:34in the land of Egypt,
06:35in the region of Zoan.
06:38He divided the sea and led them across it.
06:41He made the waters stand in a heap.
06:45He led them with a cloud by day
06:47and with the light of a fire all night long.
06:50He broke open rocks in the wilderness
06:53and gave them enough water to fill the depths of the sea.
06:57He caused streams to flow from the rock
07:01and made the waters flow like rivers.
07:05Yet they continued to sin against him
07:08and rebelled against the Most High in the desert.
07:12They willfully challenged God
07:14by asking for food to satisfy their appetite.
07:18They insulted, saying,
07:21Is God really able to give us food in the wilderness?
07:26Yes, he struck a rock and water flowed out,
07:30streams gushed forth.
07:32But can he also give us food?
07:35Will he provide meat for his people?
07:39When the Lord heard this, he was furious.
07:41A fire broke out against Jacob
07:44and his anger flared against Israel
07:46because they did not have faith in God
07:48and did not trust his ability to deliver them.
07:52He gave a command to the clouds above
07:55and opened the doors in the sky.
07:57He rained down manna for them to eat.
08:00He gave them the grain of heaven.
08:03Man ate the food of the mighty ones.
08:06He sent them more than enough to eat.
08:09He brought the east wind through the sky
08:12and by his strength led forth the south wind.
08:15He rained down meat on them like dust,
08:18birds as numerous as the sand on all the seashores.
08:23He caused them to fall right in the middle of their camp,
08:26all around their homes.
08:29They ate until they were beyond full.
08:32He gave them what they desired.
08:35They were not yet filled up,
08:37their food still in their mouths
08:39when the anger of God flared up against them.
08:42He killed some of the strongest of them.
08:45He brought the young men of Israel to their knees.
08:49Despite all this,
08:50they continued to sin
08:52and did not trust him to do amazing things.
08:56So he caused them to die unsatisfied
08:58and filled with terror.
09:01When he struck them down,
09:03they sought his favor.
09:04They turned back and longed for God.
09:08They remembered that God was their protector
09:10and that God Most High was their deliverer.
09:14But they deceived him with their words
09:17and lied to him.
09:19They were not really committed to him
09:21and they were unfaithful to his covenant.
09:25Yet he is compassionate.
09:27He forgives sin and does not destroy.
09:31He often holds back his anger
09:33and does not stir up his fury.
09:36He remembered that they were made of flesh
09:39and were like a wind that blows past
09:41and does not return.
09:43How often they rebelled against him
09:46in the wilderness
09:46and insulted him in the wastelands.
09:51They again challenged God
09:53and offended the Holy One of Israel.
09:55They did not remember what he had done,
09:58how he had delivered them from the enemy
10:00when he performed his awesome deeds in Egypt
10:03and his acts of judgment in the region of Zoan.
10:07He turned their rivers into blood
10:09and they could not drink from their streams.
10:13He sent swarms of biting insects against them
10:16as well as frogs that overran their land.
10:20He gave their crops to the grasshopper,
10:23the fruit of their labor to the locust.
10:27He destroyed their vines with hail
10:29and their sycamore fig trees
10:31with driving rain.
10:34He ran downhill upon their cattle
10:36and hurled lightning bolts down
10:38on their livestock.
10:41His raging anger lashed out against them.
10:45He sent fury, rage and trouble
10:47as messengers who bring disaster.
10:51He sent his anger in full force.
10:54He did not spare them from death.
10:56He handed their lives over to destruction.
11:00He struck down all the firstborn in Egypt,
11:04the firstfruits of their reproductive power
11:06in the tents of Ham.
11:08And yet he brought out his people like sheep.
11:12He led them through the wilderness like a flock.
11:15He guided them safely along
11:18and they were not afraid.
11:19But the sea covered their enemies.
11:22He brought them to the border of his holy land,
11:26to the mightiest land which his right hand acquired.
11:31He drove the nations out from before them.
11:34He assigned them their tribal allotments
11:36and allowed the tribes of Israel to settle down.
11:40Yet they challenged and defied God Most High
11:44and did not obey his commands.
11:47They were unfaithful and acted as treacherously
11:50as their ancestors.
11:52They were as unreliable as a malfunctioning bow.
11:57They made him angry with their pagan shrines
12:00and made him jealous with their idols.
12:04God heard and was angry.
12:06He completely rejected Israel.
12:09He abandoned the sanctuary at Shiloh,
12:12the tent where he lived amongst men.
12:15He allowed the symbol of his strong presence
12:18to be captured.
12:20He gave the symbol of his splendor
12:22into the hand of the enemy.
12:25He delivered his people over to the sword
12:27and was angry with his chosen nation.
12:31Fire consumed their young men
12:34and their virgins remained unmarried.
12:37Their priests fell by the sword
12:39but their widows did not weep.
12:42But then the Lord awoke from his sleep.
12:45He was like a warrior in a drunken rage.
12:49He drove his enemies back.
12:51He made them a permanent target for insults.
12:54He rejected the tent of Joseph.
12:57He did not choose the tribe of Ephraim.
13:00He chose the tribe of Judah and Mount Zion,
13:03which he loves.
13:05He made his sanctuary as enduring
13:07as the heavens above,
13:09as secure as the earth,
13:10which he established permanently.
13:14He chose David his servant
13:16and took him from the sheepfolds.
13:18He took him away from following the mother sheep
13:21and made him the shepherd of Jacob his people
13:24and of Israel his chosen nation.
13:28David cared for them with pure motives.
13:31He led them with skill.
13:35Glory be to the Father and to the Son
13:37and to the Holy Spirit,
13:39as it was in the beginning,
13:40is now and ever shall be,
13:43world without end.
13:45Amen.
13:52The Prophet Daniel, Chapter 4
13:56Nebuchadnezzar the King,
13:58to all the people,
13:59nations and languages
14:01who dwell on the earth,
14:03may peace be multiplied to you.
14:07It has seemed good to me
14:09to show the signs and wonders
14:10that the Most High God
14:11has worked toward me.
14:14How great are his signs!
14:16How mighty are his wonders!
14:19His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
14:22His dominion is from generation to generation.
14:30I, Nebuchadnezzar,
14:31was at rest in my house,
14:33flourishing in my palace,
14:35and I saw a dream
14:37which made me afraid,
14:39and the thoughts on my bed
14:40and the visions of my head
14:42troubled me.
14:44Therefore I made a decree
14:45to bring in all the wise men
14:47of Babylon before me,
14:48that they might make known to me
14:51the interpretation of the dream.
14:55Then the magicians,
14:56the enchanters,
14:57the Chaldeans,
14:58and the soothsayers
14:59came in,
15:00and I told the dream
15:02before them,
15:03but they could not make known to me
15:05its interpretation.
15:08But at the last,
15:09Daniel came in before me,
15:10whose name was Belteshazzar,
15:13according to the name of my God,
15:15and in whom is the spirit
15:16of the holy gods.
15:19I told the dream
15:20before him,
15:21saying,
15:21Belteshazzar,
15:22master of the magicians,
15:25because I know
15:26that the spirit
15:26of the holy god
15:27is in you,
15:28and no secret troubles you.
15:31Tell me the visions
15:32of my dream
15:33that I have seen,
15:34and its interpretation.
15:37Thus were the visions
15:38of my head
15:39that I saw on my bed.
15:43A tree in the middle
15:44of the earth,
15:45and its height
15:45was great.
15:46The tree grew
15:48and was strong,
15:49and its height
15:49reached to the sky,
15:51its sight
15:52to the end
15:53of all the earth.
15:55The leaves of it
15:56were beautiful,
15:57and it had much fruit,
15:59and in it
16:01was food for all.
16:03The animals
16:04of the field
16:05had shade under it,
16:06and the birds
16:07of the sky
16:08lived in its branches,
16:10and all flesh
16:11was fed from it.
16:14I saw in the visions
16:16of my head
16:16on my bed,
16:18and behold,
16:19a watcher
16:19and holy one
16:20came down
16:20from the sky.
16:22He cried aloud
16:23and said,
16:24Cut down the tree,
16:25cut off its branches,
16:27shake off its leaves
16:28and scatter its fruit.
16:30Let the animals
16:31get away from under it,
16:33and the fowls
16:34from its branches.
16:37Nevertheless,
16:38leave the stump
16:39of its roots
16:40in the earth,
16:41even with a band
16:42of iron and brass
16:43in the tender grass
16:44of the field.
16:46I'd let it be wet
16:47with the dew
16:48of the sky.
16:50Let his portion
16:51be with the animals
16:53in the grass
16:54of the earth.
16:55Let his heart
16:56be changed
16:57from man's.
16:58I'd let an animal's
16:59heart be given
17:00to him.
17:02Then let seven times
17:04pass over him.
17:06The sentence
17:07is by the decree
17:08of the watchers
17:09and the demand
17:10by the word
17:11of the holy ones,
17:13to the intent
17:14that the living
17:14may know
17:15that the Most High
17:16rules in the kingdom
17:17of men,
17:19and gives it
17:19to whomever he will,
17:22and sets it up
17:23over the lowest
17:24of men.
17:26This dream
17:27I, King Nebuchadnezzar,
17:29have seen,
17:30and you,
17:31Balthasar,
17:34declare
17:34the interpretation
17:36because all
17:37the wise men
17:38of my kingdom
17:39are not able
17:40to make known
17:41to me
17:41its interpretation.
17:43But you are able
17:44for the spirit
17:45of the holy gods
17:46is in you.
17:50This is the word
17:51of the Lord.
17:53Thanks be to God.
17:55Amen.
18:08Mary said,
18:10My soul
18:11exalts the Lord,
18:12and my spirit
18:14has begun
18:14to rejoice
18:15in God my Saviour,
18:17because he
18:18has looked
18:18upon the humble
18:20state of his servant.
18:23For from now on
18:24all generations
18:25will call me
18:26blessed,
18:27because he
18:28who is mighty
18:29has done great
18:30things for me,
18:31and holy
18:32is his name.
18:33From generation
18:35to generation
18:36he is merciful
18:37to those
18:38who fear him.
18:40He has demonstrated
18:41power
18:42with his arm.
18:44He has scattered
18:44those whose pride
18:46wells up
18:46from the sheer
18:47arrogance
18:48of their hearts.
18:49He has brought
18:51down the mighty
18:51from their thrones
18:52and has lifted up
18:54those of lowly
18:55position.
18:56He has filled
18:57the hungry
18:58with good things
18:59and has sent
19:00the rich
19:01away empty.
19:02He has helped
19:04his servant Israel,
19:05remembering his mercy
19:07as he promised
19:08to our ancestors,
19:10to Abraham
19:11and to his
19:13descendants
19:13for ever.
19:15Glory be
19:16to the Father
19:17and to the Son
19:18and to the Holy Spirit,
19:20as it was
19:21in the beginning,
19:22is now
19:23and ever shall be,
19:25world without end.
19:27Amen.
19:35The Gospel
19:36according to
19:36Saint Mark
19:37chapter 13
19:40As Jesus
19:41went out of the temple,
19:42one of his disciples
19:43said to him,
19:45Teacher,
19:46see what kind of stones
19:47and what kind of buildings.
19:50Jesus said to him,
19:52Do you see
19:52these great buildings?
19:54There will not be left
19:56here one stone
19:57or another
19:59which will not
20:00be thrown down.
20:03As he sat
20:03on the Mount
20:04of Olives
20:05opposite the temple,
20:06Peter, James
20:07and John
20:08and Andrew
20:09asked him
20:10privately,
20:11Tell us,
20:12when will these
20:13things be?
20:14What is the sign
20:16that these things
20:17are all about
20:17to be fulfilled?
20:20Jesus answering them
20:22began to tell them,
20:24Be careful
20:25that no one
20:25leads you astray,
20:27for many will come
20:28in my name,
20:29saying,
20:30I am he,
20:31and will lead
20:32many astray.
20:34When you hear of wars
20:36and rumours of wars,
20:37don't be troubled,
20:39for these things
20:40must happen,
20:41but the end
20:42is not yet.
20:44Nation will rise
20:45against nation
20:46and kingdom
20:47against kingdom.
20:48There will be
20:49earthquakes
20:50in various places,
20:51there will be
20:51famines
20:52and trouble.
20:54These are the
20:55beginning of
20:55birth pains,
20:57but watch yourselves,
20:59for they will
21:00deliver you up
21:01to councils.
21:02You will be
21:03beaten in synagogues,
21:04you will stand
21:05before rulers
21:06and kings
21:07for my sake,
21:09as a witness
21:09to them.
21:11The good news
21:12must first be preached
21:13to all nations.
21:15When they lead you
21:16away and deliver you
21:17up,
21:18don't be anxious
21:19beforehand,
21:20or premeditate
21:21what you will say,
21:23but say whatever
21:24is given to you
21:25at that time,
21:27for it will not be
21:28you who speak
21:29for the Holy Spirit.
21:32Brother will deliver
21:33up brother to death,
21:35and father his child.
21:37Children will rise
21:38up against parents
21:39and cause them
21:41to be put to death.
21:42You will be hated
21:44by all men
21:45for my name's sake,
21:46but he who endures
21:48to the end,
21:49the same
21:50will be saved.
21:52This is the word
21:54of the Lord.
21:55Thanks be to God.
22:08Now, according to your word,
22:10Sovereign Lord,
22:11permit your servant
22:13to depart in peace.
22:15For my eyes
22:16have seen your salvation
22:18that you have prepared
22:19in the presence
22:20of all peoples,
22:22a light for revelation
22:24to the Gentiles
22:25and for glory
22:27to your people Israel.
22:30Glory be to the Father
22:32and to the Son
22:33and to the Holy Spirit,
22:35as it was in the beginning,
22:37is now and ever shall be,
22:39world without end.
22:40Amen.
22:46I believe in God
22:48the Father Almighty,
22:50maker of heaven
22:51and earth,
22:52and in Jesus Christ,
22:53his only Son,
22:54our Lord,

22:57by the Holy Spirit,
22:59born of the Virgin Mary,
23:01suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
23:04was crucified,
23:06dead,
23:06and buried.
23:08He descended into hell.
23:09On the third day
23:11he rose again
23:12from the dead.
23:13He ascended into heaven
23:15and is sitting
23:17at the right hand
23:18of God the Father Almighty.
23:20From there he shall come
23:22to judge the living
23:23and the dead.
23:25I believe in the Holy Spirit,
23:27the Holy Catholic Church,
