00:00Another thing, Clint, that was a big thing from roster cuts
00:04and I knew he would be hit with today when he spoke to the media
00:07was about Tank Dale.
00:09At Tank Dale, they have decided, Clint, to put him on IR.
00:14And with that, we didn't know what that meant.
00:16We have not seen how long?
00:18This would have been about a week, maybe two weeks.
00:22It's been a couple weeks, right?
00:23Maybe a couple of weeks since it seemed like they just hit the emergency break
00:26on his practice routine.
00:30I think the last memory that I have is D'Amico talking about the fact that,
00:36oh, yep, he's on his own schedule
00:38and that's how they're handling the Tank situation.
00:42But we have not seen him.
00:44In a couple of weeks, he was practicing.
00:47He started gradually getting and doing more.
00:51We're doing individuals.
00:52Then he started doing some team stuff and running some routes.
00:56And then it just kind of cut off.
00:58And he didn't participate in either one of the joint practices.
01:00So you're right.
01:01It has been a couple of weeks of that situation.
01:04Here was Nick Casario as he spoke to the media,
01:08giving his thoughts and idea of how they're handling Tank Dale.
01:11Definitely making progress.
01:13Even when we started training camp,
01:15we didn't include him on the reserve list.
01:18He was in a different category than some other players.
01:20So I think every player would kind of look at their situation and say,
01:23what do we need to do to kind of get as good evaluation as possible?
01:25And to make a determination about where they are.
01:28So I would say he's close.
01:29He's not quite there,
01:31which is why he's in the category that he's in.
01:33I think we'll have a better idea here when a lot of these guys,
01:36after four weeks or four games, whatever it is.
01:39But I'd say he's definitely closer now than he was,
01:43let's say, in training camp.
01:44So there's a little bit more work that remains.
01:47But overall, he's in pretty good spirits.
01:49There's certain things that we just have to see.
01:50And some of this, too, is honestly for him mentally,
01:52just to make sure that he has enough confidence
01:55so he can go out there and perform the way that he's capable of
01:58and the way that kind of he knows how to.
02:01All right, 713-572-416, YouTube and Twitch.
02:04Tyler and Clint, I want to get your thoughts on this.
02:07Tyler, I'm going to go with you first.
02:08You heard yesterday where he was being moved.
02:14I know we heard Clint.
02:15Clint said, yeah, I don't love how much he's going to be able to impact
02:19the Texans this season.
02:23Tyler, does this make you feel a little bit more confident
02:27in Tankdale being able to impact hearing him say he was close?
02:30He said he was close.
02:31Yeah, it does a little something for me.
02:33I feel like Casario, one thing he is not,
02:37he'll get wordy on you and he'll BS you in that way.
02:40But I don't think he provides a lot of false hope for fans too often.
02:44I don't think he'd be saying that.
02:45But it does give me a little hope, makes me feel a lot better
02:49about taking Tankdale late in my fantasy draft.
02:51That's for sure.
02:52Does it?
02:53713-572-4610.
02:55Hearing that, hearing his assessment, does it make you feel better about –
03:00I can already see it in Clint's eyes.
03:02Does it make you feel better?
03:03I can't get beyond Tyler taking him in his fantasy draft.
03:05You are definitely going to lose.
03:07What is –
03:07Oh, it's like my second to last round.
03:10I didn't use a detrimental pick on him.
03:13Okay, just making sure you're going to be on stage somewhere in a dress
03:16because you lost your fantasy league.
03:18Nah, nah, that ain't me.
03:20Does it make you feel any different than you did yesterday hearing him?
03:23No, it doesn't.
03:24I mean, I feel pretty confident in my take.
03:29I think the bye week is going to be the big week for Tankdale
03:35in the 2026 season.
03:36Can he, you know –
03:37That's week eight.
03:37I know that's week eight, yes.
03:39Like this four-week IR, I think,
03:43and then you have a 21-day period or something like that.
03:46It opens up a 21-day period where you can decide
03:50whether you're going to bring guys back.
03:53Yeah, for me, man, I just –
03:55again, I just –
03:56and I think he may have even alluded to it later in the presser
04:01of kind of what, you know, what has to happen
04:04and the timing of it in order for him to get back
04:07and actually help this team.
04:09It's one thing to prove that you can play football again.
04:11It's another thing to do enough work and gain enough confidence
04:14to where you're, like, getting significant run in games.
04:20I'm not talking about just being a depth receiver
04:22and being thrown in there every now and then.
04:23I'm talking about being the Tankdale that we once saw.
04:27So, yeah, no, I'm going to stand firm, Ron, in my opinion.
04:30I think the bye week, there is an outside shot
04:33that if he can do enough by the bye week
04:36and show them that he can do it without having any kind of backslide
04:40and the injury not acting up, then I think there's a chance.
04:43If not, I think it's a season-ending.
04:46Tell him to set his sights on 27-28.
04:50Yeah, text line coming in.
04:53Tank's a playoff project, and I love it.
04:57Someone else text in.
04:58So, them saying he was almost ready last year was a big lie.
05:02I don't think the team ever said that.
05:05Maybe I'm wrong.
05:07There were some thoughts that he may be able to try to get back
05:11and he was doing some field, but I don't think they ever –
05:13the team – I don't think – I know Nick and D'Amico never came out
05:17and said, no, he's close to potentially joining the team.
05:19I may be wrong on that.
05:20But I don't remember that.
05:22I think it's interesting – go ahead.
05:24He's not – I mean, Ron, he's just not a – I mean, this ain't –
05:28this ain't Nico Collins.
05:31This ain't A.J. Brown.
05:33This – we're not – he's not a –
05:35What do you mean by that?
05:37He's not a – what can you get back in time to help the team kind of guy.
05:41I mean, he's just not.
05:43I mean, like that's reserved for dudes that, like, change the game
05:47and from an – like coverage dictating type guys or something of that nature.
05:54I mean, Tank's a really good wide receiver that when he's fully healthy,
05:58you know, the ability, the chemistry with his quarterback,
06:01they do a lot of really, really good things.
06:04I just don't believe Tank Dale is a, hey, man, hurry up and get back
06:08and come back early and come back before you're ready
06:10because you can – you impact the game in such a major way.
06:13And this isn't an offense that's going to operate like that.
06:17This isn't – this – I mean, to even view Tank Dale through that lens
06:20is a waste of time.
06:22Like, Tank Dale is a guy that – I mean, he needs a training camp, right?
06:26He needs to – he needs to produce and practice over and over again
06:32and get tackled and block and do all those things over and over again
06:37before he's just plugged in and plays for the Houston Texans.
06:41I just don't think he's one of those – those guys.
06:44I don't see that.
06:46See, I've learned over the last couple of years to really look
06:52and listen to the words they use.
06:55Right.
06:56Like, because someone texted and talked about it.
06:58He said he's close.
06:59I feel better.
07:00Said he's close.
07:01He's not quite there yet.
07:04He's closer than he was during training camp.
07:08What does that mean?
07:09Hell, yeah.
07:11I think he's – I bet he's closer than he was during training camp
07:14just by the days.
07:16But, like, again, I'm not saying that he won't return or not,
07:20but there was nothing in there that gave you a timeline, a date,
07:27or really even any clear understanding of where he is.
07:31I know, as you said, he was pressed on it.
07:33I know Landry.
07:34I think Landry pressed it on it a little bit more with, like, what is close?
07:38Is he close to playing?
07:39Is he close to playing a game?
07:41Is he close to practicing?
07:42It seemed like that answer wasn't really clear either,
07:46but sounded more closer to practice than it was play.
07:50And I'm with you, Tyler.
07:52I don't think there was a lot of false craziness around Mixon.
07:56I think there was a lot of vagueness around Mixon.
07:59I can remember looking it up.
08:01There was optimistic reports about Mixon early,
08:05but never anything that said he's going to play.
08:09They would move to, like, the gray area comments that they made.
08:13The gray area and the recovery timeline has some high uncertainty.
08:18That's – like, you just got to look at the –
08:20Christian Harris the year before that,
08:22I think you got to look at the words, like, closely.
08:28And then this thing where he just, like –
08:30and what he said about Tank, he's close, not quite there yet,
08:33closer than he was in training camp.
08:35Well, and I would argue he's not closer than he was in training camp.
08:38He was running routes.
08:39He's been pulled off the field.
08:41So, I mean, obviously I know from a timing perspective he's closer,
08:46but there was a day when Tank Dale was doing everything except for team drills.
08:51Right?
08:51Hell, there was a couple of days where, now I would argue it was an accelerated
08:55walk-through pace, but he was in there in 11-on-11 team drills
08:59with the likes of Aziz Al-Shair and Kalen Bullock and those guys.
09:04So, I mean, I would argue that he's not close.
09:06I mean, he's not closer than he was earlier in training camp.
09:09Earlier in training camp, he was doing something.
09:11For the last two weeks, you know,
09:13they've been dealing with some kind of backslide.
09:15So, yeah, I just don't – I'm not getting real excited.
09:20I never have.
09:21I've never allowed myself.
09:22It's hard because he's such a good player and fun to watch,
09:24and the chemistry is undeniable with him and C.J. Stroud,
09:28but it's just the reality of it is, man,
09:30we're a long ways away from Tank Dale being a part of this team
09:34in any impactful capacity, if you will.
09:40We're a long ways away from that.
09:42I was listening to Payne and Pendergast,
09:43and you should be listening tomorrow because I believe Nick Casario
09:46will join them tomorrow.
09:49Live?
09:50We'll join them live tomorrow.
09:52No commercial breaks in the middle?
09:53I hope not.
09:54I don't think so.
09:56They will let him go.
09:57They sold ad space?
09:59They'll let him go.
10:00They'll let him go.
10:01But I heard Sean earlier today saying,
10:04he thought it was kind of a fair thought of how close is Tank.
10:10I think Sean and Seth may kind of get a little bit more,
10:15try to get a little bit more clear understanding from Nick Casario tomorrow,
10:19so I would listen to Payne and Pendergast.
10:21He's usually on in the 7 o'clock hour.
10:24I would definitely listen tomorrow because it does feel like to me,
10:28like I want this question, Sean.
10:33Sean, Nick, do you have confidence that Tank is going to play
10:40for the Houston Texans this year?
10:46That one to me is the one that I would like to know.
10:52Based off what we learned coming into today, if you look at his words closely,
10:58he said some things that can kind of sound close to it,
11:02but then it was just like, well, hold on, close to what?
11:05Like how close?
11:06How close?
11:08So that's one I would love to hear and love to hear if he just has that confidence
11:16that they will have him on the field at some point this year,
11:19and I think that that may be telling.
11:21But listen to Seth, Sean, tomorrow they will meet with general manager Nick Casario
11:28live on Payne and Pendergast on the fan.
11:32Here also the big news.
11:34We talked about Brevin Jordan at the start of the show.
11:37Brevin Jordan and Dominic Robinson,
11:39they filling the void being on the 53-man roster,
11:43those two added in place of Brayden Smith and Sam Hagan.
11:46Here was Nick Casario today talking about tight end Brevin Jordan,
11:51who, by the way, am I right?
11:53He sent a goodbye to the fans letter or Instagram or post,
11:59a goodbye to the fans after he was cut.
12:03Oh, not like in the last 24 hours or whatever.
12:06Like back –
12:07No, I'm talking about when he was released.
12:09Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
12:10I think you're right.
12:11I vaguely remember that.
12:12And then you sent us that thing he also just posted recently on his Instagram.
12:18I'm not leaving.
12:19He's not leaving.
12:20But here was Nick Casario on bringing back Brevin Jordan.
12:25We'd release Brevin and Dom Robb,
12:28re-sign both of those guys in the corresponding moves.
12:31Brayden Smith's going to IR and Sam Hagan's going to IR.
12:33So those guys will be – that's four weeks or four games,
12:36however you look at it.
12:37So Brev, you know, he's back here.
12:40He's probably close to practicing.
12:41I'm not sure he's going to practice here this week.
12:44Probably more – looking likely more it's going to be next week.
12:48But he's had a good attitude.
12:50Good at having the building.
12:51So we'll kind of see what kind of progress he makes.
12:53I'll try my best to move past Dom Robb,
12:57and I'll allow that to derail the rest of this.
12:59But this tight end room, Clint, week to week is going to be one of the most
13:07interesting things to watch, to see who dresses, to see, you know,
13:12what roles they wrote.
13:13They got five dudes, Clint, that are guys that can most definitely play
13:19for almost any team in the – not almost.
13:21They can play for almost – play for any team in the NFL.
13:24This is different than the Harrison Bryants
13:26or whoever they've had to roll through here.
13:28All five of these dudes can play and have their own role
13:33that they're good at, Clint.
13:35That's going to be a fun watch to see what they do week in
13:39and week out with those five guys.
13:41Yeah, look, I mean, I doubt they're going to keep all five of them
13:43on active rosters, but I do think there is the overlap
13:47with the running back room, which when I say that, what I mean is
13:50there's no fullback on this roster.
13:52So the additional position that would typically be used for a fullback,
13:56could be one of the slots with the tight end.
14:01In other words, Cade Stover, Brevin Jordan, one of those two guys
14:04could be – could fill some H-back or some fullback-type roles.
14:08So from a roster-building perspective, you know, that's –
14:11you got to kind of overlap those two positions
14:13because there's quite a bit of overlap when it comes to personnel
14:16and formations and things like that.
14:18So, again, I don't think five is in the plans,
14:22but four being active makes a lot of sense if you're not going to have
14:26a fullback because they play that – all the roles,
14:30not that you're a big 21 personnel team.
14:32If you were, you would have a fullback,
14:33but you can damn sure jump into 21 personnel
14:35and just put Cade Stover at the fullback position
14:38and go with him as a fullback and then one tight end on the field.
14:42So,
