00:00Hey, listen, I'll go around the horn.
00:04Face power text line 713-572-416, YouTube and Twitch.
00:08I'll start with you, Tyler.
00:09You don't have to say real or fake.
00:11But them drafting Ariante Ursary and having the success
00:17in finding their left tackle last year,
00:19is that something that is now making you feel better
00:24about them drafting offensive linemen in this draft?
00:28Is that making you feel more comfortable?
00:31We understand the blunders they've had,
00:33but we've got to give them credit when they get it.
00:35And Ursary was a really big piece.
00:37Yeah, maybe a little bit better.
00:40Maybe it makes me feel a little degree better
00:43about finding an offensive lineman via the draft.
00:46But like you kind of hinted at there, the overall big picture,
00:49as long as Casario's been GM here in Houston,
00:51I mean, this has been the position of problem.
00:54The position group of problem has been the O-line.
00:56I mean, start to finish right now for Nick Casario.
00:58And you're not always going to find an alignment as big
01:01as this freaking dude Ursary is.
01:03I mean, he is a monster.
01:04So not that that's all that makes him good at what he does.
01:07But it might make me feel a little better.
01:10But confident?
01:11Nah.
01:11I'm trying to get there.
01:13I'm trying to say, all right, baby, this was a new start.
01:19I am still skeptical on what they're going to do in the draft if they're going to.
01:24Because I do think somebody's going to fill a void that comes out of the draft.
01:29I think early on in there's – and we're seeing everybody mock them,
01:33you know, a lot of offensive linemen, especially now that Titus is gone.
01:37And so I'm trying to make myself – and I know there are fans who love to lean
01:41towards the Ursary thing and maybe the others.
01:43I am trying.
01:44I feel a little bit better because I should give them a credit, a little bit of credit.
01:47Cole Popovich in his first year was able to get the most out of him.
01:51Is it making you feel better about them in terms of drafting offensive linemen?
01:57They had success last year?
01:58No.
02:00Absolutely not.
02:01I mean, look, you miss on Cam Robinson.
02:04You miss on Blake Fisher.
02:06You miss on Juiced Ruggs.
02:08You miss on Kenya Green.
02:14Look, it's – I mean, the best offensive line draft pick they've had outside of
02:20Ursary was what, the left guard center that they got right now?
02:24Patterson.
02:25Notre Dame kid?
02:26Patterson.
02:27Garrett Patterson.
02:28I mean, you know, yeah, that's who I'm talking about.
02:30But, yeah, no, I mean, there's no – you look at how they use Titus Howard
02:34and one might say, well, you know, you had to because you were in a tough spot.
02:38Well, you were in a tough spot because of the way they addressed the offensive line.
02:42Like, you – they didn't give themselves any choice.
02:44You look at how they handled the left guard position with the Juiced Ruggs,
02:48Lake and Tomlinson rotation.
02:49I mean, literally, I cannot believe how many, like, sound football minds sit aside
02:55and go and just kind of brush under the rug, oh, it's no big deal.
02:58But, no, that was, like, unbelievably strange to do that.
03:05And especially when you land in a place that is Titus Howard, it's neither of the guys.
03:12You had an answer all along.
03:14So, yeah, I don't know, man.
03:16I don't feel good about their ability to – as I told you yesterday –
03:19I didn't say good.
03:20You feel better?
03:21No, no, I don't feel better either.
03:23No, I don't feel better.
03:23I don't – I mean, you got – the minute you say Ariante Urshry, which is a great pick.
03:28Maybe they're on a roll now.
03:29Well, maybe they are, but they better be on a big-time roll.
03:32They got an eight-four.
03:33I mean, you know what I mean?
03:34That's part of this equation, too, is not just, hey, man, you need to go out there and get a
03:38guy.
03:39Like, if they – like, I felt like right now you signed Trent Brown.
03:42I feel like if you just needed another tackle
03:44and they were going to use a premium draft pick to get a tackle
03:47and he was the future plan at right tackle to take over
03:50and maybe even split time with a guy like Trent Brown and learn from him.
03:54And, you know, I hear him talking about this Proctor kid from Alabama
03:57and super athletic and, you know, 6'7", 250 pounds, 350 pounds.
04:03You know, if that were all that we were talking about here, cool, take a swing at it.
04:07But you got two guards and a tackle
04:09and you can use an upgrade at center in a major, major way.
04:13So, no, I don't have a whole hell of a lot of –
04:15I don't have a confident – much confidence in the ability or the desire.
04:22I just – I think there's – I think Nick Casario is steering the ship offensively.
04:29Yeah.
04:30And I think by nature they are a do more with less approach.
04:35I think by nature they value guys like Jake Andrews
04:42who know the offense and can communicate.
04:43And he may have been cut three or four times,
04:45but, you know, we can – he got good technique, good mechanics,
04:50and, you know, we can win with it.
04:52He'll be all right, you know.
04:53I think that is the direction that they tend to lean.
04:58I think it's the case of Jake Andrews.
05:00I think it's the case with Trent Brown coming back, which I'm fine with.
05:03I like Trent Brown coming back.
05:05But I just – I don't think – we sit right here and talk about, like,
05:10going after big-time free agents.
05:12I just don't – I don't think that they –
05:14You don't have a lot of confidence in it.
05:15Mm-mm.
05:16Texan line coming through.
05:16Ursary is not solid yet, but was only his first year,
05:21and he only had an overall 64 score.
05:24That's not good.
05:24He needs to get better.
05:26Yeah, I disagree.
05:27I think you – first off, you start rolling.
05:31Kenyon Green, that first year we saw him play.
05:34You didn't think he could play.
05:35They had to manufacture an injury to make him miss the whole year
05:39to get his body to right.
05:41All right, I don't care what they say.
05:44And Juice Grugs, the first year you were like, oh, hell.
05:47Blake Fisher, you're like, oh, I don't know.
05:49Like, this cat came in and held down a left tackle spot movement up and down,
05:55not just, you know, from game to game, from quarter to quarter next to him.
06:00They were doing the musical chairs next to the rookie left tackle.
06:03So, no, I think Ursary is clearly – I'm not saying he's great
06:08or he's about to be, you know, the next best tackle in the game,
06:12but you clearly say that's a solid player.
06:16Operative word being solid.
06:17Yeah, I'm not going to sit here and tell he's a pro bowler.
06:19I'm not going to tell you he hung the moon.
06:20I think he's a solid player, and I hope more importantly, intangibly,
06:26he can take over the damn meeting room and be that alpha.
06:28And I hope that's what he's made of and who he is.
06:31But, yeah, I think a solid left tackle or a solid –
06:34they're talking about him being able to move left or right.
06:36I guess they've seen something that will allow them to move left or right.
06:40I think he's solid, to say the least.
06:42I accidentally ringed the bell.
06:43Oh, I thought that was, hey, get the hell out of here.
06:45My bad.
06:46What'd you say?
06:47It's over here.
06:48It's enough over there.
06:49You felt bad for telling me to shut up, so you use a bell now.
06:52Well, that's not the case at all, for sure.
06:54Well, I know.
06:55That's fair.
06:56Just keep it interesting.
06:57Different tactics.
06:59It's just home run, Doug.
07:00It's just a really good time.
07:03Happy 1,000.
07:03I'll mention it again.
07:04One damn time.
07:05One damn time.
07:05One damn time.
07:06I'll be right back.
