00:00Trade. The Patriots are sending wide receiver Kayshaun Booty to the Texans for safety.
00:05Jalen Reed and a draft pick when we get the rest of the informational.
00:10Is it a seventh? Did we get that? Seventh?
00:12All right, according to John Lopez, and I'm guessing he's pulled that from somebody.
00:16It's a seventh-round draft pick.
00:18So Jalen Reed and a seventh-round draft pick.
00:21So we've lost to Jalen.
00:24Do you want to be clear? It's a 28th seventh-round pick.
00:26The 28th seventh-round draft pick will have all of that for you.
00:31But they've made the mood and brought in another wide receiver.
00:36Obviously, the injury to Jaden Higgins is something that really pushed this along.
00:41They've now added, since he's been injured, Sterling Shepard, a veteran receiver.
00:45Zay Jones, a veteran receiver.
00:47And now they have made a trade.
00:49And Clint, it is not that hard.
00:52I mean, you look at this, Tyler.
00:55Tyler, this is a team that has Super Bowl aspirations.
00:58I know I mess up that bull on the ring thing all the time, but you know what the hell
01:02I'm talking about.
01:03You got it right there.
01:04Did I get it?
01:05Oh, yeah.
01:05They're trying to get past this divisional round to the AFC Championship game for the first time.
01:11Clint, I don't care how conservative you want to be.
01:15I don't care how much you want to run the football.
01:17You ain't getting there, Clint, with Nico Collins and a bunch of low spades.
01:24And some of them ain't low spades, baby.
01:26This is what the depth chart reads.
01:29Nico Collins, then Xavier Hutchinson, then Jalen Knoll, who just got back to practice today.
01:36Then Justin Watson, Louis Bond, and then Zay Jones and Sterling Shepard with Jarrett Wayne lurking.
01:45That's not a team that's trying to get to an AFC Championship game in a Super Bowl wide receiving court.
01:54It's not, and they had to go make a serious move, and I'm glad that you expressed it.
02:00We're not going to go overshoot.
02:02My excitement is not that I think that Kayshaun Booty is about to be like Tee Higgins, like the best
02:09number two receiver in the game, and this offense is about to go crazy.
02:13My excitement is the Houston Texans know who they are and are trying to go for it and give themselves
02:19the absolute best chance to reach their goals,
02:23and they've made a move to do so.
02:26And, Clint, he is a starting NFL wide receiver.
02:30You only had one.
02:33He is a starting NFL wide receiver.
02:36Jalen Knoll may be.
02:37I'm going to tell you right now, folks, Xavier Hutchinson is not a starting wide receiver on a team that
02:42is trying to win a championship.
02:43Just not.
02:44And I think he is a valuable member of this team with everything he does.
02:48But, Clint, this is big time.
02:51They, as you said, have gotten themselves better on this offense and, I think, give themselves a chance to be
02:57the offense that they want to be.
02:59Yeah, man.
02:59Look, tip the cap to Nick Casario and D'Amico Rhines for getting it done, not only for the reasons
03:04you mentioned, but also, I mean, that's when you look at the AFC right now,
03:07that's one of the top contenders that knew you had a need and just said, hey, yeah, we'll make a
03:13move for a depth safety and a seventh-round pick in 2028 for you to get better right now.
03:19Because I don't care what you think about Keyshawn Butte, obviously, they're willing to let him go, so they don't
03:24think too highly of him.
03:25But at the end of the day, your opponent, one of your biggest AFC foes, had a desperate need that
03:31everybody in the world was aware of, and you just helped them feel it.
03:34So tip the cap to D'Amico Rhines and Nick Casario for making it happen and making it happen with
03:40the dang Patriots, who you faced last year in the playoffs.
03:46So that piece there, too, man, look, I love the move.
03:50I love it for C.J. Stroud as well.
03:52I think Keyshawn Butte has a – I said it earlier, there's something about when you – Tankdale has this,
04:00right?
04:00You don't have to throw a perfect ball to Tankdale, all right?
04:02And Tankdale's going to go make some plays for you.
04:05Butte is one of those kind of guys that if the ball's not perfect, he has the ability to go
04:09make the play.
04:10He somehow is a 15-plus yard per catch wide receiver for the previous two years and ain't running away
04:17from nobody.
04:18Can he run? Sure.
04:19But he's not known to get in there and all of a sudden he's a Will Fuller-type guy,
04:22but he's averaging 15-plus yards a catch.
04:25So, look, I think this is a good get for the Texans.
04:29I think it's a great get for the Texans along with Jalen Noel coming back Saturday,
04:35along with the Sterling Shepard and Zay Jones pickup.
04:39When you look at this wide receiver crew right now, right now you have the ability to say,
04:46whoever comes out and takes the bull by the horns, right, which I would imagine is Keyshawn Butte
04:53because of the other piece of this that's super, super valuable is he's a plug-and-play wide receiver.
04:58He knows the offense, knows the terminology.
05:00This is a play tomorrow type of guy if need be, right?
05:05He will be on the field running the offense against Buffalo.
05:10Week one, he will be on the field running the offense.
05:12Absolutely.
05:13I don't know how he wouldn't.
05:15Absolutely.
05:15So, that piece is valuable.
05:18But, you know, you get – you've got – right now you've got a receiving core
05:22that you're going to have two dudes that are on the practice squad or inactive,
05:27one inactive, that if something goes wrong, boom, you plug him in the next week
05:31and you're not out here like they are right now scrambling to make moves
05:34or scrambling to pick up somebody that's on the streets.
05:37You've got options right now, and a lot of them, several of them are veteran options,
05:42which you've got to sprinkle a little bit of that in there beyond just Nico Collins.
05:45So, yeah, man, good day for the Texans.
05:47Man, I love the moves that they were able to make both today as well as late last week.
05:52Again, if you are just joining us, the Texans – I mean, they took us out.
05:56Well, we thought we had breaking news with Dana Brown,
05:58and we will get to you, Dana, in a bit.
06:02We're going to have to pour one out for Dana.
06:04We're going to have to – boys to men is going to make an appearance
06:07here a little bit later on with Dana Brown.
06:09But if you're just joining us, the Texans have made a trade.
06:14They have traded for wide receiver Kayshawn Booty from the Patriots.
06:19They're sending Jalen Reed, their young safety, and a seventh-round draft pick
06:24in the 2028 draft is what we've found out in terms of what sources are telling reporters.
06:31And just to kind of give an understanding, Clint, because to me, again,
06:35I'm not going crazy on what I think he's about to be.
06:41I think he is going to be very similar to what Higgins was probably going to be.
06:48I think he is in the ballpark of Higgins.
06:51Now, Higgins seemed to be really impressing them in the jump he made,
06:56so maybe there's maybe a difference there.
06:58But this is a guy, last year, Clint, by the way, 5'11", 203, so a big guy.
07:04But he plays bigger, taller than his size because he's a leaper, a jumper,
07:10and as you said, he has the ability to make tough catches.
07:14But 5'11", 203 yards.
07:16Last year in 14 games with the Patriots, he caught 43 balls, 589 –
07:22or, I'm sorry, last year he caught 33 balls, 551 yards in 14 games
07:27and six touchdowns, averaged 16.7 yards per catch.
07:32As comparison, Jaden Higgins caught 41 balls, 525 yards for six touchdowns.
07:38So they had a similar-like season.
07:42Jaden played three more games than he did, but they had a similar-like season.
07:45And I think a lot of you haven't forgotten the catch he made over Derek Stingley
07:51in the playoff game, which is an example of his ability to make tough catches.
07:56But I think that is just the big point is I think they can now run
08:00whatever type of offense they wanted to run.
08:03Clint, I don't know if you could do that right off the bat with a Jarrett Wayne
08:07and think you could depend on that, or with Xavier Hutchison.
08:09This team needed to have Hutchison be their fourth receiver.
08:13Yeah, I agree with that.
08:15They needed, I mean, for it to be, and this isn't a slight towards, I guess it is,
08:20a slight towards Hutch, but it's not intentional.
08:22But I'm just saying for this team to be an offensive team that is trying to get
08:28where they're trying to get to, like, he was number two today, this morning.
08:33Like, they need Bouti and they need Knoll to step up
08:38and those guys be the three receivers out there, I mean, the two receivers out there with Niko.
08:43Yeah, look, I mean, Hutch needs to be a rotational piece,
08:46and he needs to be an emergency insurance policy if somebody goes down at you.
08:51There's huge value, particularly in this offense, for damn sure in this organization,
08:55for the guy that you know can play every position.
08:57He can block.
08:58He can run routes.
08:59He's going to be where he's supposed to be, yada, yada, yada, the do-your-job thing.
09:02He embodies that to the fullest, no doubt about it, right?
09:05But the reality of it is he needs to be four.
09:09You need some specialty dudes.
09:11You need, like, again, Bouti's a guy that's a field stretcher in his own right
09:16that can make play with, make catches comfortably with guys on his back.
09:21Jalen Knoll's a little bit shifty.
09:22He's going to be the guy that's going to bring that little twitch in and out
09:25and some explosion.
09:26And so, you know, that skill set.
09:28You've already obviously got Nico.
09:30Your tight ends are going to consume a big percentage of the targets
09:36and the catches anyway.
09:37So when you look at this thing, Ron, you hit the nail on the head.
09:42You need 40 to 50 catches max.
09:46You need 600 to 700 yards max.
09:49And you need 600 to 700 touchdowns max.
09:53If you get anywhere close to any of those numbers but with a number two receiver,
09:56given that you are going to run the football and that you are going to be a –
10:00you've got some tight ends that you really like
10:02and you've got an offensive play caller that's a tight end guru.
10:05I mean, there's only so many balls to go around.
10:07What you need that number two wide receiver to be is, again, I mean –
10:12and when I say max, I mean if he's asked to carry this kind of load, right?
10:16You need a guy that can give you six to eight touchdowns.
10:21You need a guy that can give you 600-ish yards.
10:23You need a guy that can give you 40 to 50 catches if he's asked to, right?
10:28That's what we're talking about here.
10:31And we'll see.
10:32We'll see whether he's that guy or does Jalen Noel end up picking up some of that load
10:37and how it all unfolds.
10:38713-572-416, YouTube and Twitch.
10:42How do you feel about this move?
10:44They have added a receiver, a legit starting wide receiver,
10:48making the trade with the Patriots.
