00:00Good afternoon. You'll need that umbrella at hand as there's going to be plenty of showers in the
00:05mix throughout this afternoon. We've got low pressure dominating. It's pushing its way
00:09eastwards across the country through today and gradually clearing out towards the North Sea as
00:14we go through this evening. Behind that, a ridge does start developing as we go into Bank Holiday
00:20Monday to help ease some of those showers. Then into Tuesday, frontal systems just approaching
00:25from the west, affecting the northern half of the UK. But through the rest of the afternoon,
00:31there are metoffish yellow thunderstorm warnings in force across much of the UK. So expect some
00:37heavy intense downpours, frequent lightning, rumbles of thunder and also some hail mixed in.
00:43The showers mostly focus across the west through the afternoon and becoming a bit banded. So some
00:48longer spells of rain, especially across southern Scotland and northern parts of England. Towards
00:54the far south and east, that's why we largely hold on to drier conditions and some sunny spells. But
00:59the odd shower can't be ruled out. Some strong winds as well developing, especially across the southwest
01:06and feeling cool underneath any of these intense downpours. Highs of up to 23 degrees in the best
01:12of the sunshine to the far south and east. Through this evening, the showers will continue to rattle
01:19their way through as the area of low pressure tracks its way eastwards. So some heavy downpours
01:24are still expected with some thunder and lightning, especially across the southeast later on into the
01:30evening. Behind that, the showers will start easing. There will be some clear spells turning slightly
01:35cooler, lows of around 13 to 14 degrees. Now, it's bank holiday for much of us across the country. The
01:43area of low
01:43pressure clears its way through and then bright skies across the far east of the country. Further towards
01:50the west, some showers will start bubbling up and tracking their way eastwards. Again, the odd heavy
01:55one. But behind that, with that ridge building, that will help ease those showers. So actually,
02:01a fine and largely dry afternoon to come on Monday across the west of the country. Across Northern Ireland,
02:07that's where the cloud will increase and we'll see some patchy outbreaks of light rain. It's going to be
02:13feeling a touch fresher out there. Highs of up to 17 to 21 or 22 degrees. Through Monday evening,
02:21the showers persisting across eastern parts of England, gradually fading away as the night progresses.
02:27Across Northern Ireland and again across Scotland, that's where we're going to see some cloud
02:31and some patchy outbreaks of rain, but generally a slightly fresher start to Tuesday. So make
