00:09If you have a scanned or a photographed document, you can actually convert them
00:14into searchable and editable text by using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.
00:19So, in order to do that, I'm going to open up a scanned document.
00:22So, since I have the file as a ZPZ format, I'm going to go into File,
00:26go to Create, and I'm going to say PDF from File.
00:30So, let me just select that.
00:31And over here, I have an image of a bill.
00:34So, I'm going to press Open.
00:35So, it loads up the bill over here on my screen as you can see.
00:39This is an image and right now, I cannot do any sort of editing over here.
00:43So, let us enhance this picture so that I can actually edit the text.
00:49So, in order to make this editable or searchable, I can go over here onto the left side
00:56and here, you have an option called Enhance Scans.
00:59You can also optionally go to Tools if you do not find this here or you have removed it previously.
01:04So, you can go over here.
01:05I usually like to keep this right over here.
01:08So, I'm just going to click on Enhance Scan right here.
01:12And once I click on that, you can see that I have an option to enhance this.
01:16I'm going to say Enhance Scan Document.
01:18So, I get similar options right here.
01:21You can recognize the text in this file or multiple files.
01:24So, I can go for multiple files as well.
01:26So, I'm just going to click in this file.
01:29And over here, you can see that I can select the page.
01:32Right now, I only have one.
01:34So, it does not matter.
01:35And in the language, you can see that I can choose from various dictionaries.
01:39I'm just going to select English US as my default.
01:42So, I can also go to Settings right here.
01:45And here, you can see that I can select the number of pages.
01:48I can select the language.
01:49And here, I can choose Output.
01:51So, I can output to Searchable Image to Searchable Image Exact and Editable Text and Image right here.
01:59So, let's see the difference between them.
02:01So, I'm going to keep mine at Searchable Image for this one.
02:04Press OK.
02:05And click on Recognize Text.
02:08Let's see what happens.
02:09It actually aligned everything out.
02:11The document looks exactly the same as you can see.
02:14So, it is still pixelated.
02:16But what you can do is you can actually select the text and you can set it as well.
02:20So, if I were to press Ctrl F and press Canon, press Enter, it actually highlights Canon.
02:26What the software is doing is that it aligned everything for me and then it actually added
02:33an invisible layer of text on the front of the PDF in front of the image.
02:38So, I can actually set and select the text just like that.
02:41This is wonderful and it maintains the original look of the image as well.
02:46Let us try again and see other option right here.
02:49So, I'm going to go to Home again.
02:51I'm going to create PDF from file.
02:54I'm going to select image again so that it actually creates another one.
02:57So, let us try the other option.
02:59I'm going to go to Enhanced Scan.
03:01Select the image.
03:02Let me just zoom out a bit.
03:04And I'm going to go into Enhanced Scan Document right here.
03:09Recognize Text in this file.
03:11And over here in the settings, I'm going to choose the second one right now.
03:15So, over here is Setable Image Text.
03:17So, Setable Image Exact will keep the orientation as it is, which is actually quite similar to this.
03:25And I'm going to click on Recognize Text.
03:28And you can see that the text has been recognized.
03:30So, if I were to zoom in.
03:32So, if I were to actually zoom in.
03:34So, you can see that everything is still pixelated and the orientation is maintained.
03:39And if you were to select it, it actually selects it like this.
03:42So, now, let us try the third option.
03:45File Create PDF From File.
03:47Let me click on this document right here.
03:50And the third option is to actually create something else.
03:53So, let me just go over to Enhanced Scans.
03:56And I'm going to go to Enhanced Scan Document.
04:00Recognize Text in this file.
04:02And in the setting, I'm going to go to the Editable Texts and Images.
04:06So, this actually makes it editable.
04:09And I can even reduce the quality that is downslip sampling into a lower DPI.
04:14So, if you don't need much quality, you can actually do that.
04:18But I'm going to leave it to 600 DPI itself.
04:21So, I'm going to go to OK.
04:23And it will convert the text.
04:24I'm going to click Recognize Text right here.
04:26And you can see that everything is seen.
04:29But over here, something else happened right here.
04:31So, if I were to zoom this in.
04:34You can see that it actually converted the text into its own font.
04:39So, you don't have a pixelation right here.
04:41It's rather a vector graphic.
04:43So, if you were to go over here and zoom in.
04:45You can see that everything is pixelated.
04:47I can still select it.
04:48But here, it actually converted the text right here.
04:51So, let's see the advantage of this.
04:53So, let me just zoom out.
04:55And over here, what I can do is I can edit this text right here.
04:58So, I can actually go over here.
05:00Right click.
05:01I can actually go to Edit Text.
05:03And if I want to change this thing.
05:05For example, 006 to 007.
05:07That actually allows me.
05:09And what this is actually doing is.
05:11It has created a font out of the letters.
05:15Which is already available in this document.
05:18Just like this.
05:19So, you can see that 007 is taken from this 7 right here.
05:22It's quite similar.
05:23It has created this one font.
05:25So, if I want to add in some text right there.
05:27I can just add it in.
05:30So, how cool is that?
05:31Keep your receipt.
05:32Keep your.
05:34Let me just type in another letter.
05:37And there you go.
05:37So, F is nowhere to be found over here in the document.
05:40So, it cannot actually replicate that.
05:43It only replicates the one which is actually in the document.
05:46So, I'm going to say.
05:47Keep your.
05:49Bill.
05:49B is not there.
05:52Right.
05:52There you go.
05:53Receipt.
05:53So, you can see that.
05:55I can also edit this out.
05:57I can add it in.
05:59BLK.
06:00Just like that.
06:01And I can edit everything out.
06:03Just like that.
06:03And I can add in numbers right there.
06:05So, everything is editable.
06:07What happens when you edit it here though?
06:10So, let me just try.
06:11Right click.
06:11There's edit text.
06:13It actually converts everything back into this format right here.
06:17So, I can go over here and edit this out.
06:19So, if I were to edit this.
06:21You can see that everything gets converted into the editable text format.
06:25Just like here.
06:26I can go over here.
06:27Same thing over here as well.
06:28You want to change this out.
06:29You go to edit text.
06:30It actually converts the document again.
06:33And you can convert everything out.
06:34Just like that.
06:35So, that is how you can convert the MS file into editable and searchable text by using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
06:45So, I hope you guys learned something as always.
06:48And as always, please like, comment, share and subscribe.
