00:00four-time champion of this series, came back, it's been a rough summer, way, way, way below
00:06his usual standards the last couple of races since returning from a neck injury, but much
00:11better in the first race earlier today, round third for the majority of it, ended up finishing
00:16fourth. Jason Thomas mentioned Hayden Deegan, who would love nothing more than to get his
00:21first 450 win here, regardless of how it affects the lawrences and points. Deegan won the last
00:28two, 250 championships, and is the hot rookie in 2026. It's all the line here, two races
00:36to go for the pro motocross championship, leading to the playoffs and the world title. The
00:40lawrences have to settle this pro motocross battle first, Jed on the one, Hunter on the
00:4696, 30 minutes and two laps away. Here it comes, refs are up, gates down.
01:01Jorge Prado, I thought he had it, but Hunter Lawrence is going to sneak inside, a couple
01:06of riders down in turn one, but it appears Hunter Lawrence in the lead. Hunter's like,
01:10stay away from me, Jorge, on here, but I mean, what can you say? Execute the start. Hunter
01:16Lawrence has been on point since he's raised since the start. This is his eighth hole shot
01:20so far this year, and probably the most important one, possibly. He goes on to hang on to this thing,
01:26but long ways to go, Jason. Because Jed Lawrence, another uncharacteristic bad start. Just like the
01:31first moto, he is in 10th. This is Hunter's opportunity to shine. Jed is mired back there,
01:39you see him, the blue gear on the red bike, number one, and he has a pack to deal with,
01:44including Deegan, who's right in front of him in blue. Yeah, hey, Deegan, you can tell Jed,
01:48I was watching him on the thing. He's kind of sitting up a little bit because he knows, like,
01:52man, I don't want to go down these opening laps. I've seen that script too much,
01:55but watch the gap that he's losing because of the way this track is. Hunter Lawrence is
02:00putting a gap on everyone. Came out mad at this race. Good stuff. Yeah, you don't always see the
02:07best stuff for the Lawrences immediately in the race, but Hunter is taking no chances with a sprint
02:12early to pull away from Prado, the Spaniard. Barsha third, Plessinger, Haram, and look at this lead
02:19already. Yeah, you're talking about somebody who feels comfortable, and for Hunter, the track's
02:25awesome right now. It's probably been the best it has been all day long, so it's very raceable.
02:30It's Eli, excuse me, Harap right there. Gets past. That's Barsha. A couple of the new entries in this
02:37series. Harap on the Triumph, the British brand, jumping into motocross for the first time
02:42in the 450s this year. Same with Ducati, the Italian brand. That's what Barsha is riding.
02:49Sprans both developing bikes at the same time, battling for third right now. Harap on the 31.
02:54Almost goes down. Yeah, just those lines got a little messed up right there, but now you're
02:58going to see that number one. He probably sees Hunter Lawrence getting away from this thing.
03:02In this crunch time now, Hunter beats you. He's taking that red plate, even if he finished second.
03:06So, I think Jet, he stayed up, but he's going to be a little bit more aggressive than possibly
03:11he was in that first race, because he knows he has to get going.
03:15I believe Jet Lawrence, though, was able to take the measure of Hayden Deegan back there,
03:20so that was a big pass. As Harap, the Danish rider, trying to hold off Barsha out of New
03:25York. And right behind them, you're going to have Hampshire, Plessinger, and then Jet Lawrence.
03:32And Lawrence trying to make a move on Plessinger. He's in the back of these shots.
03:40Yeah.
03:40He made the move.
03:41Yeah, good pass by Jet. He sees that 38 behind him. You want a little bit of somebody in between
03:45you and him. So, important pass. You know, again, but number one, he needs to get out
03:50front. And this next target would be RJ Hampshire. Hayden Deegan's trying to follow suit and get
03:56around Aaron Plessinger. The orange KTM right there. Blue, number 38. Hey, Deegan goes, looks
04:03like he had the inside line as he makes the pass on Aaron Plessinger.
04:07Oh, Deegan is just so aggressive. And he wants to beat Jet Lawrence in the worst way.
04:14Lawrence made the move on him one lap ago. Deegan going to try to stick with him as they fight
04:19their way forward together. And Deegan is closing. Yeah, this is the best opportunity. We saw
04:24Hayden at first moto go up with Hunter Lawrence. When Hunter got caught, those lappers, Hayden
04:29was able to close. So, he probably figures Jet's going to go to the front. I'm going to try
04:34to stick with him. And I got to do that while he's bunched up. Otherwise, number one might
04:38get away if I get caught between them.
04:40And then ahead of him, he got two of the most aggressive riders on the track. Barsha in
04:43red. And then the white Husqvarna of RJ Hampshire, 24. Now Deegan and Lawrence have caught them
04:50together. Jet got squeezed off on the top of that jump by Hampshire. Jet with the blue gear.
05:00Oh, and Barsha and Hampshire battling.
05:03I love how you hear Barsha's motor sign, which is all of a sudden getting really loud. He pulls
05:07in the clutch. He ain't letting off the gas. But, yeah, Jet's got to be careful here because
05:10you saw RJ go from the right to left over there trying to make a pass on Justin. Jet's got
05:15to
05:15be careful not to get caught out and get clipped in a racing incident.
05:27Oh, this is good stuff. Barsha, Hampshire, Lawrence, Deegan. Jet Lawrence is going to be on the outside
05:33of this next corner. Slices back inside of Hampshire. Side by side up the hill. Hampshire looks over and
05:41says, not going to happen. Yeah, he takes a look back. I mean, RJ really didn't have a shot. But
05:45all that does is put Jet possibly in the danger zone because you got Hayden Deegan right behind him. So
05:51anytime he gets caught up behind these two, brings that number 38 back in play. And there's no love
05:56loss between them two.
06:02Lawrence trying again against Hampshire, the veteran out of Florida. He'll fight you with everything he has.
06:08It's never been a question of the effort of the 24. They're making a lot of changes to that motorcycle.
06:14Week in, week out. Sometimes they hit it. Sometimes they don't. Shit almost ran into him. Yep. Going back to
06:20my point,
06:21you know, he gets, like, clipped by RJ. RJ's trying to pass Justin and easy could happen here. Another section.
06:29Now, if Jet gets alongside of RJ, I think he will let him go.
06:33RJ doesn't know anything but to just continue going down.
06:38And Jet had to absolutely charge down those hills, into the bumps, into the ruts. Just got the front wheel
06:45where he wanted it to make the pass, JT.
06:47Yeah, and that pass was so critical because what was happening, and James was talking about it,
06:50every time Jet tried to make a move, RJ was countering with his own move on Marsha.
06:55That creates a crisscrossing across the track. That leaves no room for Jet to go.
07:00And if he tries to pass, you see how quickly he makes a pass on Marsha, because he didn't have
07:04that dynamic of trying to pass two for one.
07:06So I think that was the biggest thing. If you get one, the second pass is going to happen really
07:10quickly.
07:11Up ahead, the bottom box is Prado, who has closed back to the leader, Hunter Lawrence.
07:17It was a three-second gap. Now it's 1.3.
07:20Not sure if it was a mistake by Hunter. Well, actually, it's Prado who just put in his best lap
07:27of the race.
07:28The 1.58 of Prado is the best of this moto.
07:33Yeah, we talked about the top two in this field. It's both Lawrence and the brothers, and then there was
07:38a battle for third.
07:39So, so far this moto, Jorge's getting the best of Hayden Deegan, got a better start.
07:45And after what we saw in that second moto last weekend, you've got to believe Jorge Prado has got a
07:50lot of confidence,
07:51feeling like, man, I can win one of these races. Found some speed, made some changes on the KTM.
07:57Go after this 96 and see what I can do.
08:00Yeah, we can go in upstate New York. Prado gave the Lawrence as all they can handle in both motos.
08:05Trying to replicate that here.
08:07The Spaniard, multi-time motocross Grand Prix champion, moving to the United States last year.
08:13It was a struggle season. Much, much better this year, but still without a win.
08:25I see this track deteriorate really quickly. All that rain. They had to do a lot of work.
08:30So it's not the roughest racetrack, considering the pass, but because it's soft, you're going to see these 450 powerful
08:36bikes
08:37really start digging up some of these corners, and these runs are going to get really deep.
08:42Jed Lawrence now has caught Mikkel Harup, who is in his best position ever right now, running in third on
08:49the Triumph.
08:51Jed's starting to close down, but Jed needs more than this.
08:55On a normal day, take the third, maybe the second, but he cannot get beat by Hunter again.
09:00He will lose the championship lead if so, but he is 11 seconds down on his brother,
09:05and several passes he would need to make before he can even challenge him.
09:10Yeah, these two got a really good pace, but shout-out to Yohar for, like, running really strong in this
09:16moto.
09:17Made some great passes, so he belongs up here.
09:19It's going to be a challenge to keep the number one Honda Bahana,
09:23because Jed's trying to go to the front, but still a solid ride by here.
09:27Yeah, and it's been really fun having him in the United States.
09:29He's scheduled to go back to Europe next year when Triumph starts racing that bike in Europe,
09:34but he spent the last two years living at the Triumph facility there in Georgia,
09:38developing the machine here in the U.S.
09:41And the Great Dane, as we call him, really friendly, fun guy to talk to.
09:47He's a veteran of the game, but right now he's got a deal with Jed Lawrence.
09:51He's got business to do up front.
09:53Yeah, you can see him lose that rear end, a front end right there.
09:57The track's getting rough. He's getting really hard there.
09:59Now, this is the section of the racetrack.
10:01As long as you just stay in the line and don't make a mistake,
10:04it's going to be hard for a rider to pass you, so Jed has to funnel in.
10:08Now, this might be an opportunity here.
10:10There's two lines, but again, he gets through this corner clean on the inside.
10:14He actually goes around the outside, which is going to put him back on the inside.
10:17There's not much Jed Lawrence can do.
10:21Nope, exactly.
10:22Nowhere for the number one to go.
10:24Sahara holds him off.
10:30And Haram wisely picks the inside down the hill.
10:34Yeah, you're going to see Jed follow him.
10:36Another opportunity to make some small mistake in that corner,
10:39but the best opportunity to make a pass would be here after you go over this hill.
10:43Both of these riders are probably going to funnel in the same line.
10:45If you've got a yellow flag, it looks like a rider down.
10:49Then he's not close enough, but this could be an opportunity to make a pass.
10:54You go across this hill, and then you're going to have pick a line either inside or outside.
10:58Jed Lawrence is going to go to the outside.
11:00See if he can slingshot around.
11:03Oh, he does.
11:04There you go.
11:05There was not much room there.
11:09That was risk versus reward.
11:10He chose to take the risk.
11:12Jed Lawrence now up to third, but he's lost more time to the leaders.
11:18Hunter Lawrence and Jorge Prado.
11:20He's got 13 seconds to make up if he wants to make a run for the moto win.
11:25We're going to take a break here on NBC.
11:27We'll continue with the action side by side.
11:44And for the fans with us on Peacock, you can still watch full screen.
11:49Keep an eye on this.
11:50Ken Shett Lawrence close it up and make it a three-rider fight for the lead.
15:02And just so he rides the motorcycle, always revving the bike.
15:05And then Deegan, the rookie, very similar in his style.
15:09And now they're slugging it out for fifth place.
15:12Yeah, I love this.
15:13But these two are friends.
15:15It'd be like your friend tripping you down the hallway.
15:17You look up and then he reaches his hands out and picks you up.
15:20That's how this relationship is.
15:22Justin ain't going to let anybody go past it, including Deegan and his friend.
15:26But as he knocks you down, he'll be like, man, you all right?
15:28There it is.
15:29Yeah, I think people were asking Barsha, you know, what happens if Deegan gets aggressive with you?
15:33Aren't you going to come back with fire?
15:34And he's like, you got to remember, I love that kind of racing.
15:37I'm down with it.
15:38I'm cool with it.
15:39And that's why we've seen him on the track battle, but it hasn't spilled off off the track.
15:45Yeah, to get aggressive with Justin Barsha, it'd be like setting ghost fireman, whatever, on fire.
15:52I mean, you're talking about this is exactly where he wants to go.
15:55Ghost rider, excuse me.
15:56Justin Barsha, the more you kind of get these battles, the more he kind of wakes up and love what
16:02I see.
16:03And these two are not.
16:04Hayden makes a small mistake.
16:05Well, Hayden barely able to keep it on the track there on the Yamaha.
16:09That's the Ducati rider getting back away during the break.
16:12Hampshire went off the track, and that allowed Deegan to get by him.
16:15But see Hampshire in that red gear starting to get back into this fight.
16:21Closing again on Deegan after Deegan made an error.
16:27Halfway through the moto, reminder to stock up on Monster Energy at 7-11.
16:33To Jason Thomas.
16:35I wanted to ask James if you see anything specific with his riding, because I've been watching really closely on
16:41Hayden.
16:41You know, the difference between the first moto and the second moto is pretty stark.
16:45I'm just trying to put my finger on what exactly he's not doing quite as well here in moto two,
16:50because the pace just isn't there that he had in moto one.
16:53Actually, I think he's riding exactly the same as he did in first moto.
16:56It looks the same to me.
16:57Even when we saw him close in on Hunter Lawrence, like he's very aggressive, and then he would make a
17:02couple of mistakes.
17:03I think the difference is a start.
17:04You know, he's stuck in the same spot, riding the same.
17:08But as we talked about all weekend long, this track is very hard to pass.
17:11So when you've got guys in front of you and a veteran like Justin Barsha, not surprising he's stuck there.
17:17So literally a start.
17:18What is the difference on this track?
17:20All the riders said they love to ride it, but it is hard to pass.
17:23What makes it so difficult here?
17:24Just because there's a lot of switchbacks on here, and also the way the track is, everything's kind of pushing
17:30away.
17:30So it's very off camera, which means the inside is higher than the outside.
17:34So everything wants to slide you down.
17:36And because the track turns on itself a lot, it makes it to a point and shoot.
17:41So guys on the inside, outside, they ride down the middle of the racetrack.
17:44It just makes it harder to pass for these guys.
17:46Fun racetrack, very, very difficult to pass.
17:49I've seen it here today.
17:50Deegan going to try it outside here.
17:52That's what you're saying.
17:53It's off camera.
17:53The inside is higher than the outside.
17:55Deegan can't make it work.
17:57It's a tight corner.
17:58We've seen contact through the years here.
18:01Not this time.
18:02Yeah, so in that particular section, Justin, all he has to do is get to the inside.
18:06And then now there's nothing Hayden to do.
18:08He's going to ride across the middle of the track.
18:09Hayden's going to have to funnel in.
18:11And in another section, he's going to go down.
18:13As long as Justin gets through this inside.
18:15Watch.
18:16He's going to put him in Hayden's line now.
18:19So now, yeah, now Hayden's going to go around the outside or try to funnel in.
18:23So that's what makes it difficult.
18:25So on this track, a guy almost have to make a mistake for you to get him.
18:28Or you have to kind of get him out of the way, push him.
18:31And the 51 is not the guy that you want to get that dizzy with.
18:35And then look at the front of the two motorcycles.
18:37Crystal clear on Marsha's bike.
18:40Deegan's bike is covered in mud.
18:41That's all the dirt being slung at him by Marsha.
18:44And that's hitting him in the face and the goggles, too.
18:47He's got to deal with that.
18:48Yeah.
18:49Another example of that, Hayden was running around the outside, but the inside funnels
18:52in.
18:53So all Justin has to do is get out of that corner and get in Hayden's line.
18:56And Hayden's doing a lot of work.
18:59Justin's just beating him to the punch.
19:00And now Hayden's got to go to work.
19:03But we saw Jet Lawrence get around RJ earlier in the race.
19:07This would have been a better opportunity for Hayden to do because now it opens up enough
19:10to where Justin can't block the whole track, but Hayden's not close enough to do anything
19:14with him.
19:15Look at Hampshire back in it.
19:17Made a mistake.
19:18Went off track.
19:19And as always, shrugs it off, regroups, and he wants to get back around Deegan.
19:27Will, what are you seeing in the mechanic signal area?
19:30Brent Duffy, Hayden Deegan's mechanic there, urging him.
19:33This time around to force it as he's put on there.
19:36So he just wants him to go for it and get the job done here on Justin Barsha.
19:41I don't know if those are wise words or not against Barsha.
19:44He's going to have to deal with Hampshire, though, too.
19:47Jet Lawrence has not been able to make up ground.
19:50In fact, about the same lap time, two minutes flat with the lead trio.
19:56Hunter Lawrence, Prado, Jet Lawrence.
19:58Battle down there.
19:59Checking in with your brother there, Malcolm Stewart, in 13th.
20:02Been a rough one for Garrett Marchbanks.
20:05He's the rider ahead of it.
20:06Marchbanks is ranked sixth in the championship.
20:09He's been a top five rider most of the year, but he crashed in Moto 1.
20:13It's been a struggle for Marchbanks this time.
20:16Yeah.
20:16Mr. Top Five had a rough first Moto.
20:19Running Top Five goes down, like you said.
20:21You know, but I'm thinking about Hayden's pit porting.
20:24I'm looking at him.
20:25He's like, why don't you force it?
20:27You get on this motorcycle and come out here and do that.
20:31Encouraging contact with Barsha.
20:33Are you crazy?
20:34Yeah, the mechanics know, like, because Hayden, he is faster than Justin.
20:38You can tell when a guy's going all over the track, outside, inside, and not really losing time.
20:43Barsha shows you a rider faster, but going back to the point, either make a mistake or you've got to
20:49move him out of the way.
20:51Oh, that's Beaton there.
20:52The rider out of Australia just made the move on your brother.
20:56Beaton won Australia's 450 motocross championship.
21:00Came to America here for the last couple of weeks.
21:02But the big difference is it's wintertime down there.
21:05So this heat and humidity, he admits, it's been a lot to adjust to.
21:09Beaton is going to get the Rocky Mountain ATV and see Privateer Profile Spotlight.
21:14He is a Yamaha-backed factory team in Australia.
21:17But they're doing it on their own here in America.
21:20Got a couple of bikes.
21:22And working out the Sprinter van, like they said.
21:25Talking to his mechanic this morning.
21:28And doing quite well, considering.
21:31And it's actually his older brother who I met yesterday.
21:34And there's a lot of training and coaching for the Australian and New Zealand riders
21:38that have come through the ranks and are now starting to make inroads here
21:43in the SMX World Championship in America.
21:46And Jed getting to do some damage himself.
21:48Gets around Malcolm.
21:52Going to take one more break here on NBC.
21:55You can keep watching the action side by side.
21:57Can Hunter Lawrence hold on for a key 1-1 finish?
22:001-1 finish.
22:48Barsha went down there under attack from Deegan.
22:51Deegan almost caught Hampshire.
22:53Sigh of relief at the 38.
22:54Didn't have the battle for it.
22:55Yeah, he's going to go back to the pits and be like,
22:57I was going to get him.
22:58I was going to get him.
23:00Lucky he went down.
23:02Keep watching the action here on Peacock.
23:04You're done.
23:38So it did make a little bit of time.
23:59So it did make a little bit of time.
24:24So it did make a little bit of time.
24:54Which on a huge downhill appeared to ruin his championship hopes.
24:59He has come back today.
25:01Won the first Moto earlier.
25:02Moto 2 has started to pull away from Jorge Prado.
25:05His brother Jet who's challenging him for the championship has been able to make up ground on them.
25:10And it says a lot about this guy.
25:12We've seen him bounce back several times.
25:14Here's the crash last week.
25:16And it has not set him wrong today.
25:18All right.
25:19You got to watch his last week.
25:20Second Moto.
25:21And at this point he just had Jorge Prado and Jet Lawrence ahead of him.
25:24And then everything, including Hunter Lawrence, comes crashing down very, very steep hills.
25:30You see him rolling down this hill.
25:32And just everything that was going through emotionally.
25:35Because he just went through this a few months prior.
25:38And cost him a Supercross championship.
25:40Really had both hands on that trophy.
25:42And he goes down and now bounce him back.
25:46Will?
25:48It's quite unbelievable to see what he's bounced back from, isn't it, James?
25:51And I got to ask him yesterday what the bounce back looked like.
25:55Because we talk about Hunter Lawrence and how calm he is and how collected he is.
25:59But what does it immediately look like?
26:02And he said initially he goes back to the truck and the emotions fly.
26:06So it's there.
26:08And I said, how long did that take before you calmed that down?
26:11He said, about ten minutes.
26:13He said, but then the sling this night's come.
26:16Then I'm going through the scenarios.
26:18Oh, would I have done anything any different?
26:20So it's not that he's able to shut off his emotions entirely.
26:24He's just incredibly capable of managing them.
26:28Putting what he needs to in a box.
26:30And then being able to set it aside and move forward.
26:33I don't know, James.
26:34I've never seen anything like it.
26:36It really is.
26:37It's an incredible mental skill that I think very few athletes have mastered.
26:42No, it is.
26:43And it's really, really impressive.
26:45And I think it's hard for people to really put that in context of just not only to come back.
26:50You know, you've got to worry about the injuries or whatever you're feeling from the crash.
26:53But emotionally, that's the biggest thing, to be able to get back up and continue to fight.
26:59I mean, essentially, it's like whatever you wanted in life, being so close to getting it and basically putting your
27:06fingers on it.
27:07And it all of a sudden tripping and falling.
27:09And then you lose it.
27:10And coming back and doing that almost twice in one year just shows you the dedication that this guy has
27:18to continue to do it.
27:19And I can't say enough.
27:21And that's why we're going to go down the next weekend.
27:23And it's just like this.
27:25It's a winner takeoff.
27:27Hunter Lawrence versus Jett Lawrence.
27:30Yeah, Jett not able to make up ground on Prado either.
27:33He might be stuck in third, so he will not be on the overall podium today.
27:36Hayden Deegan is fighting for it.
27:38He has caught Harrop.
27:40And this is the battle for fourth on the track.
27:42Harrop with that black and neon yellow motorcycle, the Triumph.
27:47And Deegan on the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing Machine.
27:51It's the 5'11 Triumph of Harrop.
27:53Can he hold him off?
27:54Deegan around the outside, jumps by.
27:56Yeah, I was going to say this might be a great opportunity for Hayden to get around
28:00because as much as he closed on McHale, you look back, that number 24 is still right there behind him.
28:07So, RJ, we know him.
28:09He is very strong.
28:10He's one of those guys that just never give up.
28:12Even when the check of black comes out, he's still racing back to the pits or whatever.
28:16So, Hayden Deegan makes his way up to four in place.
28:20Still a massive improvement for Harrop, who is struggling to be top ten even last week at Unadilla.
28:25For a while, he and his teammate, Jordan Smith, they had settled in.
28:27They weren't making big changes to this bike, this new bike, week in and week out.
28:31They've decided to take bigger swings at it, almost purposely trying to go too soft or too stiff in suspension
28:37at times just to see where the limits are.
28:40Clearly, they got it much better today.
28:42Yeah, I mean, he's been a rider at the casino with a lot of speed, but, yeah, crashes here and
28:47there.
28:47And obviously working on a newer team, newer bike, he's got to figure it out some way.
28:52And sometimes doing the small changes, most 90% of the time, you would do that.
28:56But as a new team, you need to figure out the direction.
28:58So, you might have these finishes where they're either really good, like today, or really bad because of taking a
29:05chance and trying to figure out tests while you're racing.
29:08And then Deegan's similar, not because the team or bike is new, but because he's new to the class.
29:12He tried something much different with his bike last week, admitted it wasn't good, and said, that's on me.
29:18That's the direction I chose to go.
29:19We're going to change it again for this weekend.
29:21He's out of it as far as the championship is concerned.
29:24And he's decided it's rookie year.
29:25It's time to try everything.
29:27Yeah, and it's a good thing.
29:28I was actually worried about, you know, how Hayden would come back just mentally because you go back to a
29:33couple years and last past year, all he's done is won.
29:36Yeah.
29:36You know, once he started winning, you're winning.
29:38And once you do that, it is hard to lose.
29:41I know I went through that in my career, and it took me a while mentally as we're watching Jorge
29:45Prado running second here, solid rod.
29:48Jett Lawrence is a little close.
29:49But, yeah, with Hayden, once he wasn't able to beat the Lawrence's, how would he race?
29:54You know, how would it affect him mentally?
29:55And I think he's only gotten better.
29:57And he understands that, look, I need to just test these things out, continue to get there, and it would
30:01make him a better router at the end.
30:04Yeah, Hayden said yesterday, he's like, at some point, I just stopped caring what everybody thinks.
30:08I'm just going to work.
30:09And what you get is what you get.
30:12Jett Lawrence has not given up on this late.
30:15Now, Prado has had some issues this year when they get in the lap traffic, and he's given up some
30:20big gaps.
30:21Not sure if that's the problem, or if Jett is just putting on one last push, but there's only two
30:29laps and about 30 seconds left in this race.
30:34But Jett is definitely hustling, and this would be massive, be two more championship points for Jett Lawrence if he
30:41can pass to 26.
30:45Right now, if it ended like this, Hunter Lawrence would have a three-point lead going into the finale next
30:50Saturday in Indiana.
30:53If Jett makes this move, his brother would only be up by one point.
30:57I'm going to go a little step farther.
30:59So, if Jett needs to make this move, because what's going to happen if he stays the way it is,
31:04let's say next weekend, him and Hunter Lawrence tie, right?
31:07They tie all points.
31:08Jett wins one moto.
31:09Hunter wins the other one.
31:10They tie all points.
31:11And let's say Jett wins overall.
31:12Jett will still lose the title because Hunter Lawrence has more race wins than him.
31:17So, he needs these points because he needs a gap.
31:20He can't tie with his brother.
31:21He needs to be ahead of him.
31:23So, this is a very important pass for Jett Lawrence as he's making a lot of time on Jorge.
31:28I'm sure Jett knows that as well.
31:32It's about a second faster than Prado last time around.
31:37Prado trying to step it back up.
31:39Two to go.
31:40This is the fight for second on the track.
31:43But it's really about points right now which are paid out in each individual one of these motos.
31:49Here's what's incredible.
31:50Look at that stat.
31:52Jett Lawrence has only finished off the overall podium top three twice in his 450 motocross career which started in
32:002023.
32:03He's currently not going to finish on the podium.
32:06And the only time that that happened, he crashed out of a race in Northern California a couple of years
32:12ago.
32:12And then last year, he took a one-lap penalty in the event.
32:15Those are the only two times that he has not finished in the top three.
32:20Today could be the third.
32:22Yeah, they're going to take it a step further.
32:23You look at Hunter Lawrence.
32:24The only time he's ever finished outside the top five since he's been in pro motocross in a 450 class
32:31was last weekend.
32:32So you talk about dominance and the consistency these brothers have over everyone else.
32:38I think that streak might be broken today because I believe if he makes this pass, it really wouldn't change
32:43anything besides the championship.
32:46Good thing with Jett, he has a pretty good cap, almost 30 seconds over Hayden Deegan, so he can actually
32:52take a little bit of risk knowing that if he loses front end and goes down, this pass might be
32:57worth taking that chance.
32:59He just got pelted with dirt from Prado, white flag.
33:04It's a few turns away now.
33:07Hunter Lawrence is going to do it.
33:08He's headed toward the 1-1 sweep.
33:10Jett jumps into the corner to try to make up ground.
33:15And Prado very proud, the Spaniard.
33:18And he took it on the chin.
33:20He was not happy with his results.
33:22He's a third, fourth place rider most of the summer, but he wanted to battle the Lawrence brothers for wins.
33:26It was a big step in the right direction last weekend at Unadilla in New York and trying to show
33:33that form again here.
33:35White flag coming out.
33:37One to go now.
33:39Yeah, at one point, the lap before, Jett was three seconds lap faster than Jorge.
33:43And I talked about this in the 250 class on how some of these riders race.
33:47When you know God's coming, that train is coming, you wait for him.
33:51And then when you get there, you pick up the pace.
33:53And so that last lap, Jorge and Jett basically ran the same lap time.
33:57And Jorge went four seconds faster than he did the previous lap.
34:00So that just shows me he knew the one was coming.
34:03He needed to wait for it and have some energy to fight him.
34:06And with half the lap left.
34:09It is all the line now.
34:11Jett to the inside.
34:13They're side by side.
34:15Jett's on the outside.
34:16Jorge on the inside.
34:18Tries to block him.
34:19And he does.
34:20That's actually a smart move by Jett because he knew that Jorge's line was going to funnel in into the
34:25same one.
34:26Another one.
34:27So get through this corner clean.
34:30Most likely the pass isn't going to happen right here.
34:32You just got to wait for that opportunity to open up.
34:35Oh, Prado blocked it again.
34:38And they got to deal with the lap traffic.
34:40Jett Knives come outside to inside.
34:42Battle down the hill.
34:44They make contact.
34:45Who's going to stay off the brakes?
34:47Jett Lawrence does.
34:48He's in the second of the last lap.
34:50Oh, what a pass by Jett Lawrence like there.
34:52He's like, I've seen this game before.
34:54I don't know who you think you're dealing with.
34:56You're dealing with defending champ out here.
34:58And who knows?
35:00Those two points might be the difference between winning this championship and losing it.
35:06It will now be a one-point lead for Hunter Lawrence going into the finale instead of three.
35:11Digging deep.
35:12Jett Lawrence.
35:13But what a ride by Hunter Lawrence.
35:16The heartbreak last week.
35:18And he came and he saw it.
35:19He conquered both Motos.
35:23Points maxing.
35:25He's going to score all 50 that were on the table today.
35:28Reclaim the red plate of the points leader going into the finale.
35:31It will be high stakes, high pressure between the brothers next Saturday.
35:36Hunter Lawrence sweeps.
35:37Buzz Creek.
35:38A huge win.
35:40When he needed it most.
35:42There's Jett in second.
35:44And Prado third.
35:47Championship ride by both of them.
35:51Jett Lawrence coming back.
35:53Hunter Lawrence coming back.
35:59Incredibly.
35:59In ten races this year.
36:01It's the sixth time they have swapped the points lead.
36:05You talk about the family dynamic.
36:07It was the first person to congratulate.
36:08Jett just lost his points lead.
36:11He is pumped for his brother.
36:12And I think now, because of what Hunter was able to do today, they're going to go racing next week.
36:18Mama, the kid's going to be at it tomorrow, next weekend.
36:21Can't wait.
36:22Can't wait.
36:22Hang in.enskouuis.
36:23Okay. Now, now,
