00:01And Jason, the 250 division obviously it plays a massive role just getting over the obstacles but for the 450
00:06division it comes down to the efficiency and let's be honest, even the fastest riders were a little bit sloppy
00:12in their qualifying session and I know power was playing a role.
00:15Yeah and you've got to remember that these guys spend hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours at sea level.
00:20They know these bikes intimately as soon as you make a big difference in power. That changes the game completely.
00:27Justin Hill is in gate number two, Cooper Webb in gate number four. You've got Dean Wilson in gate seven.
00:33So a little bit of a spread right there between the three fastest riders in the SX1 division.
00:39This is race number one of the SX1 at round one in Calgary. Anderson and Webb the big hype coming
00:46in but it was Wilson, it was Hill and it was Craig who were the three fastest in qualifying.
00:50A five rider battle is about to begin. Who's going to grab the whole shot in the first race of
00:56the 2026 World Supercross Championship.
01:03SX1, race one, eight laps, ten points are on the board to be taken right now. Will it be Anderson
01:10the defending champ? Webb the three time American champ?
01:14Or maybe Dean Wilson your SuperPole winner? Maybe Justin Hill your fastest qualifier? The refs are up, the gates are
01:20going to drop in Calgary. Race one!
01:25And again we have two starts out in front. That shows you just how much this elevation is playing a
01:31factor.
01:32Vince starts one of the best, Vince Freese is one of the best starters in the world regardless of what
01:35motorcycle he's on.
01:36And he's just done it again here in SX1 race one.
01:39How about Mitchell Harrison? How about Jorge Zaragoza? One, two and three. Where are the players? Where are the heavy
01:47favorites in this championship?
01:48You see Anderson right there right behind Nichols. Tough start for Anderson. Cooper Webb not the best start either but
01:54he's in better position than his championship rivals.
01:56But it's Vince Freese, Mitchell Harrison, Jorge Zaragoza, Jordy Tixier. Wow, that's your top four to kick off SX1.
02:05That is a massive shake up here in the start of this race as we're picking up Anderson way back
02:10in the field. He's back there with clout.
02:12I saw Christian Craig. Who's going to get the first lap of this world championship in 2026? It might be
02:18Mitchell Harrison.
02:18Wow, Mitchell Harrison on the Bud Racing Kawasaki. Your defending champion Jason Anderson is down on the opening lap making
02:26a bad day worse.
02:29Oh, that's tough for the defending champ. And it's one of the oldest sayings in motorsport. You cannot win the
02:34championship on the first round but you can lose it.
02:36And that is terrible. Oh, they're having problems with that Suzuki. This is a tough go. Now for Jason, luckily,
02:42if there's any race of the night that this is going to happen, you want it to happen in this
02:47one.
02:47There's only ten points on the board and your rivals are buried behind two Starks and Mitchell Harrison who leads
02:54the way.
02:55Welcome to World Supercross. Welcome to the front.
02:58And it might not seem like a name that we have been focusing on at the top of this show.
03:02But make no mistake, every single rider on this track is one of the elite riders in the world. Mitchell
03:08Harrison, no acceptance.
03:10As Cooper Webb is making his way up through this pack, followed by D.
03:14Oh, big mistake by Wilson. Hill's going to get him. Wilson rolls the finish line jump. He's losing multiple spots.
03:20And this all started in dominoes from Cooper Webb's pass. Webb went up the inside to the Anstey line. 3
03:26-1 to the inside.
03:27And from that moment on, Wilson has been all over the place. And now he's got some ground to make
03:31up.
03:33Yeah, and he has not done with his battle with Justin Hill yet.
03:37Oh, Justin Hill!
03:39That's how he goes and gets in the middle of him. Hill's got a really good run up the inside
03:42here.
03:44Very respectful between those two.
03:46Hey, Mitchell Harrison, get some, man. You're out front leading the World Supercross.
03:50He has no idea what's behind him. You know why? Because he can't hear the next two bikes.
03:55But behind that is a Hill Webb. Now a Craig battle. Wilson was in there. All the heavy hitters. You
04:00got Anderson way in the back.
04:02This is not what we expected in the opening out of World Supercross.
04:05We are about to hit four laps halfway through this race. And you can throw a blanket over the top
04:10seven almost. Hill is trying to make his way now into third.
04:15And he's making the moves right now. The best rider on the track. Maybe not the fastest by time, but
04:20the best in moves has been Justin Hill.
04:22He went by Webb. He goes by Zaragoza. Now he's got a challenge in Vince Fries as Mitchell Harrison pulls
04:28away.
04:28Webb up the inside. Will he get the move into fourth? Just enough. He gets it.
04:32He is the king of shortening the track. And he is able to find traction on those insides where other
04:38guys aren't.
04:39Justin Hill. And he's marching in front.
04:43He's got his biggest challenge right now. And Vince Fries, one of the gnarliest defensive riders in the sport.
04:49Hill rips by him, swaps left and right. He don't care. 3-1 in the corner. And if you're Mitchell
04:54Harrison right now, you have no idea what's coming, son.
04:58Here comes Justin Hill. Get on that bike, Mitchell Harrison.
05:01Because Justin Hill is on fire in this opening race.
05:07With that being said, Mitchell Harrison looks great out front.
05:10He looks smooth. He looks clean. He looks uninterrupted.
05:13But here comes some interruption as Hill's made his way to second.
05:16Cooper Webb now in fourth. He got Craig in fifth. Wilson has recovered in sixth.
05:20I'm watching the leaderboard. Anderson still sitting in sixth. He was so far back pulling into the mechanics area.
05:26Now he's up to fifth. He gets one guy. But this is a tough break for your defending champ while
05:30the battle rages up front.
05:31And he needs to just think championship, championship, championship right now.
05:36Justin Hill, though, he has eyes on a first World Supercross win. We've been saying it all weekend.
05:41You called it even before you saw him turn a wheel. 3-1. He is all over the back of
05:47Mitchell Harrison right now.
05:48Looks like Webb has made his way around Vince. Freeze. Is he going to stick it as Justin Hill gets
05:53right up to the back tire?
05:54He goes to the right. Whips it off the finish line. Jump. Does he cut across and take it? He
05:58does.
06:00Outside line to Justin Hill. It is time to press send and run away with this thing. We have two
06:06laps to go. Now it's up to Cooper Webb.
06:09Can he get Mitchell Harrison and keep fighting for this overall?
06:13Hey, you said it. You can't win the championship at the opening round, but you can set the tone. You
06:17can make a statement.
06:18And Justin Hill's been doing that since the minute he got here. But this is some of his best laps
06:22of the night.
06:23He takes the lead. Now he's got the clear track and he can run.
06:26He is out of there like a long-tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs. This is what
06:31we were expecting from Justin Hill after seeing him run.
06:34Christian Craig is making his way around the outside of Vince Freeze.
06:37Here comes Webb. Here's Craig. Wilson up the inside on Freeze. So now Wilson, Craig, and Webb are in position
06:46to run down Mitchell Harrison.
06:48But if Mitchell can hold on, this will be one of the best moments of his Supercross career.
06:53I mean, he's got a three-time American Supercross champion, a 250 Supercross champ, a 250 Motocross champ behind him.
07:01And he's just feeling it. He's one of the boys.
07:03And if you know anybody that has ever seen Mitchell Harrison practice, you know that this guy has more speed.
07:09He just has not shown it in races on a 450 yet. This is a breakout ride. He's got two
07:15more chances to do this as the two Quad Lock Honda boys are going at it right now for fifth
07:20and sixth position.
07:22Hill leads. Harrison second. Webb is closing. Craig and Wilson have sat right behind Webb this entire race just following
07:30him through.
07:31Will someone make a move? They're all kind of in a spot right now. Here comes Dean Wilson up the
07:36inside. And how many do you want to get?
07:38Oh, he takes the lead or takes the spot right there from Christian Craig.
07:41That was aggressive, but you could tell that they're teammates and they are thinking team championship. That Quad Lock team
07:47has won every one of these and they do not want to give up that title.
07:51Mitchell Harrison, you've got company again, brother.
07:54One lap to go. Hill's opened it up. He's got a clean gap to second. Harrison holding on for dear
08:00life as Cooper Webb, one of the best Supercross racers in the world.
08:06Right on him. Who do you not want to have behind you on the last lap of the Supercross race,
08:10Mitchell Harrison?
08:11Cooper Webb is the one, but he's there, but he's been so good this entire race. Webb is so close
08:17now, he can hear him.
08:19Harrison protects his inside just enough. Webb's going to go up the inside, shorten up that corner.
08:23And if you love an underdog story, you are cheering for Mitchell Harrison, but Dean Wilson is absolutely outstanding.

08:3131 to the inside. Makes a pass, but does he? Harrison's got it. No, Webb crosses over. Watch out for

08:38Dean Wilson around the outside. It's Hill. It's Webb. And it's Wilson. One, two, three.
08:45How did Cooper Webb shut the door just then? There is no way that he should have not been able
08:50to get past right there.
08:52Incredible race craft for Cooper Webb. And if you're Mitchell Harrison, you lost his spots, but what a moment. What
08:58a ride.
08:58And he should take some confidence into the rest of the night and the season. You ran with the boys.
09:05That was an incredible race by Mitchell Harrison. But hey, what's overshadowed is this guy.
09:10Justin Hill ripped through everybody. What a race. What a final corner.
09:15It's wild that you can just see a guy walking around the pits and you can see the smile. You
09:21can see the bounce in the step.
09:23And with a guy like Justin Hill, you see that and you know that he is capable of winning. And
09:27he did just that.
09:28I'm so stoked that he has got his World Supercross career back on track.
09:32Yeah, he is feisty. He wants it. He showed it in that race. He was whipping and scrubbing and blitzing.
09:39Oh, Justin Hill. Hey, at his best though. Think back to the moments where he's been at his very best.
09:45This guy is electric. He is lethal. And he is a winner in World Supercross.
