00:34today but that was like the last one and but it felt like it was super long mainly because it

00:39the hottest one of of training camp so far not not to you know complain to you guys out there

00:46um it was it just was it was long but uh you know productive and uh you know I think
00:53that this team's
00:54ready to to get home I'm always curious about this last game I've this last game right after
00:59training camp you don't always see the team play its best and I've seen them you know flat performance
01:06before uh even in Arizona so I kind of wonder what you're going to get tomorrow Schottenheimer like
01:13two or three times in the presser yesterday had to stress camp's not over and I was getting the
01:19feeling that he was having to you know guide some people emotionally like we're going to be back
01:23soon like we're going to be back home but we still have to go to Arizona first so that kind
01:28of reminded
01:28me of that as you said that um he also went through his list of surprises so far in camp
01:35who jumped out
01:37or who exceeded expectations who jumped out to you uh amongst that list if anybody well I mean I I
01:45think
01:45for me you know when I look at who who this team you know who has played really well and
01:51kind of
01:52exceeded expectations it it starts there's always a couple but it starts with Camden Brown just because
01:58of of how he you know how he's been able to perform with this receiver group these receivers you know
02:05we're going to come up with a list here on our on our website on the top players of training
02:10camp you
02:10know voted on by the people that's been out here and it's you know it starts with the receivers
02:15receivers have been great but Camden Brown's a guy that's been able to work his way into the reps
02:19and taking the stuff from a good offseason to a really good training camp and then taking him to
02:25the game so uh yeah that's that's been the main guy for me that's that's come out and really done
02:31well
02:31but uh you know your offensive linemen too the in the in the middle the the the BBs and Tyler
02:37Smith and
02:38Tyler Booker those those guys right there you expect them to be really good but I think that they have
02:43taken it to another level Nick shoddy I raised an eyebrow or took note he really highlighted
02:51Mingo's camp and he talked about MVS in terms of you know special teams did either of those comments
03:00make you hesitate and automatically putting Camden Brown above them well you know I think that
03:08there's there's there's some politics going on at this point um you know with with who's doing well
03:14and and also trying to see how this roster is going to get shake out like I'm not talking about
03:20them
03:21specifically but I will I will tell you that that there are some guys on this team I think the
03:26roster
03:27is good enough where there there are some guys that are probably gonna gonna get traded to other
03:32teams I'm not saying necessarily those two I just mean you've got some veteran guys you've got some
03:38some spots too many players for the spots that are here and I think you're gonna see some some guys
03:44getting traded so I think there's gonna be a lot of players kind of getting talked up I just don't
03:49see when I'm going back to receiver I don't see where where the fit would be for for veteran guys

03:56that that that are that are going to be maybe playing special teams I mean um uh Camden Brown's
04:04on the team I mean I don't I don't know how you can say that he's not I don't know

04:08to figure out if those other two guys have a spot then they're going to keep seven then because he's
04:13on the team he you just can't bring a guy like that onto your roster and him do so many
04:18things and
04:19then and then try to think you're going to get him on a practice squad or stuff like that so

04:24team I don't see a spot for MVS I just don't see where where that makes sense Mingo is to

04:30battling right now and and maybe there's a shot but I don't think there's a shot for both of those

05:09play those two touchdowns were not good passes they weren't plays that are just always the quarterback
05:14put it right in his hand he had to go fight for it he had to go make the play

05:19here he was battling two two receivers two defenders wasn't even a great pass by Sam Howell
05:25he he fought made the play the other one was just one-handed snag in the back of the end

05:30he's got good speed he's got he's it's just a level of of awareness at at that position that he's

05:40taking it to another level I mean I I love the fact that he's done it out of camp he
05:46went to the game
05:47he did it at the game he came back this week and had another really good week of practice
05:52so it it's just it seems like every single time there's a moment um he's you know he's he's kind
06:00of excelled so I just when you're you name some other receivers right that that have done it they've
06:06they've done well and and they've you know either made the team or made the practice squad stuff like
06:11that but you know I think when you're looking at a guy 6-2 2-0-9 runs a 4
06:15-5-9 you know he's he's just
06:18got all the tools and so he's done it enough where he's he's gonna make the team um is he
06:25a guy that's
06:26inactive every week or does he play special teams and that's gonna be up to him Nick Eatman with us

06:36for to come out of this one and specifically we know about these roster battles that we've talked
06:41about do you think there's anybody that's competing for a starting spot or is there anything we haven't

06:53I I I think that there's starting spots that are sort of still up for grabs I don't know if

07:00between players that are on the roster you know I think that and specifically the one that comes to
07:05mine would be the offensive tackle position like I I think that Nate Thomas is is gonna battle some
07:13and and you know if if Terrence Steele isn't isn't the guy that that they're gonna you know start it
07:18right tackle um I I would imagine it's somebody that's not on the team um but you know I I

07:26see if Terrence Steele even plays or Nate Thomas I think Nate Thomas can play it play well and maybe

07:32into that mix um I'm but as far as starting positions go I don't really see that I don't
07:40see that there's a there's a real battle between spots I'm trying to go to I'm going through the
07:44depth chart in my head right now like looking around like what do you think is there is there
07:49a spot for you because I can't figure out I mean I I'm fascinated by what you're saying about the
07:54tackles right now because I was focusing on that just for a sec do you think they have like a

07:59level of concern there like like is that do you think that's right do you think it is a legitimate
08:03concern they have a tackle now I think that they do I I believe that I believe they have a

08:09there now um you know there the one thing that I think is different about this team and this is
08:16what I was I was thinking about this just yesterday like walking around getting ready to pack things
08:21up I was like can you hear it all the time what's different why does it feel different it just

08:26different and it does and the Cowboys have done a lot of things I think one reason that it feels
08:32different is that every spot on their roster their starting spot even before like well you can't have
08:38it all right you can't have everything you know some spots are just good they're just solid there
08:43there is what it is I think the Cowboys are trying to fix everything um and that's what they're even
08:50going to the outside to do that so if they feel like they need help you know pass rush then
08:55they're
08:55going to go and and make a move if linebacker was kind of thin well then they're going to go

09:00the winners there during the draft and so now if offensive tackle might be the position I'm not
09:06saying they're going to go get anyone right now but I think if they did I think if there is
09:11a move
09:12to make on the outside I think offensive tackle is one that they're a little concerned there I do
09:17believe that now do you go get a right tackle do you move Guyton to right I mean he's had
09:23a pretty
09:23good camp Tyler Guyton's had a really good camp at left tackle I don't think you do move him I

09:28you figure out what's going on a right tackle though and if it's Terence Field then he's got
09:32to play better but I don't think they want to have Jake Ferguson catching five yards of pop
09:38at tight end and and because he has to stay in help block and then he catches a short pass

09:44he's not doing much down the field I think they feel like they need a right tackle that they don't
09:48have to help surprise me the Vaughn Miller was in pads yesterday first snap getting a pressure
09:54passes batted down by Caleb Downs were you surprised that Vaughn was in pads anything else major jump
10:00out from practice or was the big story the $500,000 fine for the Saints fights um not really
10:07surprised by what I'm seeing with Vaughn Miller at this point I mean just because I think future
10:14Hall of Famers are on a different level you know and he he is he just he's like if he

10:19he's ready to go it's how much he was he was prepared but yeah it is a I say it

10:26it's different though it's different than other ones that we've seen we've seen guys they've signed

12:08different way so um you know I I think Jerry Jerry just wants them to not fight about that I

12:14not about the the narcs out there just don't don't sit there and throw helmets and all that I talked

12:21one of the trainers and he he was just saying I'm so I'm so relieved we didn't have any neck

12:26because when they they fight they grab the face mask and they tug it yank and twist and all that
12:32stuff helmets pop off he's like usually when that happens you're getting a lot of neck injuries
12:37and we're just fortunate that that didn't happen hard to remember an Oxnard season where Nick even
