How EASY is A.J. Brown making the offense for Drake Maye?? Over/Under 7.5 TDs? Curtis thinks A.J. Brown is going to make Drake Maye a lot of money
Transcript
00:00Let's begin, Curtis, with quarterback of your New England Patriots, Drake May.
00:04He spoke yesterday after practice.
00:05He was asked about how easy A.J. Brown makes his life.
00:10We can hear from Drake May.
00:12Yeah, I think he's a time receiver like that.
00:14You know, he carries that much weight, you know,
00:16and just find ways to get him in football.
00:18Like I said, he's always all the time.
00:20I try to get the ball into their hands because they make me look good.
00:22And that's, you know, the number one thing with A.J.
00:24He's made, you know, a lot of plays in his career,
00:27you know, taking the distance on, you know, crossing routes
00:29and making, you know, great catches on deep balls.
00:31And he's just, you know, he's another leader in the huddle, too.
00:34I think that's one of the biggest things with A.J.
00:36You know, he's got this, you know, demeanor and respect from the team
00:39that he just walked in with because of the player he's been.
00:41And I think he's taking that head on.
00:43And I really respect the way he goes about his work.
00:46Yeah, I can't say enough good things about this.
00:50It's going to be a great year.
00:51A.J. Brown is going to make Drake May an S-ton of money.
00:54Oh, A.J. Brown is going to make Drake May an MVP.
00:59Like, maybe not this year, but next year.
01:01I mean, he's whatever the Tom Curran better get started on that narrative
01:05before next summer, because it's going to be the Brinks truck.
01:08Brinks truck backing up for Drake May.
01:10If A.J. Brown has like 1,500 yards receiving, are you shocked?
01:14No.
01:15Yeah, I don't think so either.
01:16I think that like Josh McDaniels, his history to his credit,
01:19his history with legit number one receivers like Devontae Adams.
01:22He just funnels the ball to those guys.
01:24And he has no problem doing it.
01:26I just, I think A.J. Brown is going to get,
01:28it's another reason why I'm totally fine with them kind of like dealing
01:31Kayshaun Booty, because I just, I don't think there's any room for guys
01:34like that here.
01:35I think A.J. Brown is going to get so many targets.
01:37And then the targets that don't go to A.J. Brown are going to go to
01:40Romeo Dobbs.
01:41And then you're going to sprinkle some into like Hunter Henry,
01:44Matt Collins, and maybe Pop Douglas.
01:45But like those two guys are going to get so many targets this year from
01:50Drake, Matt.
01:50What's the over, what's the biggest number of touchdown catches for A.J.
01:54Brown?
01:54Oh, I want to say it's eight and a half, but let me double check.
01:57Oh, pound the over.
01:58Eight and a half.
01:59If he's healthy, he's double digit.
02:01Considering what he's going to do in the red zone.
02:04Like I am, I would, I don't know where I can find that money or, I mean,
02:08find that, that, that line.
02:11So Hunter Henry's four and a half.
02:13I'm scrolling down, looking for A.J. Brown.
02:15I apologize.
02:15That's all right.
02:16We can, we can let me know in a minute.
02:17We can do the next.
02:18Okay.
02:18Yeah.
02:19Well, let's hear one more thing from Drake, man.
02:21They did struggle a little bit in the red zone.
02:23He wanted to talk about the red zone performance.
02:25Here is a Drake may.
02:27Can't just be, you know, one play here, one play there.
02:29You got to string some, you know, plays together in a row.
02:30And I felt like, you know, we did that more yesterday than we did today.
02:33So just getting back.
02:34I know it was tough down there in the red zone.
02:35You know, a lot of bodies in a short amount of space, but, you know,
02:37I feel like we could have, you know, done more in the red zone.
02:39And I think that's something for us to, you know, learn.
02:41It's one of our focuses this year to be better in the red zone.
02:43So we got some work to do.
02:44Yeah.
02:45I mean, the, the Eagles played better yesterday.
02:50I know that.
02:51Unquestionably, I think they played better.
02:52Yeah.
02:52And, and I know there was a couple of interceptions from Drake.
02:55One, I saw theorize that was a tipped ball where A.J. Brown could have caught it.
03:00It was in A.J. Brown's hands.
03:02Kind of got like punched slash ripped out.
03:04And the other was on Drake may.
03:05So you kind of knew that was going to be the case after the first practice that usually happens.
03:10These things even out, because I'm sure the Eagles got chewed out by Chad GPT after that one.
03:15And then that's really the last competitive moment of the preseason, right?
03:19Like, because you're going to see Drake maybe for a series this weekend.
03:22A series or two.
03:24And then you're going to see nothing against the Browns.
03:26No joint practice.
03:27You're just going to have Christian Gonzalez talk between Saturday and the opener.
03:31Yeah.
03:31That third preseason game is just going to be all about the guys on the bubble.
03:34That's it.
03:34Yeah.
03:35And Andy Boreat, the kicker.
03:38Andy's going to have to prove it.
03:39Yeah.
03:39Are you surprised they haven't brought in another kicker to kind of at least like challenge him,
03:42push him a little bit?
03:43They did tighten the goalposts, which I thought was an interesting move.
03:45Did you see that?
03:46Yeah.
03:46Where they like brought him in closer?
03:47He was playing the skinny posts.
03:48Yeah.
03:48I would be surprised if he's not your kicker.
03:50I think the vitriol and the open frustration from Vrabel was all intended to just get a reaction
03:57out of him.
03:57Yeah.
03:58And Courtney pointed out earlier to, or like when it happened that he had struggled to
04:02begin last season a little bit as well.
04:04So I wouldn't be shocked that they arrived with him.
04:05And then, and then he was money.
04:07Exactly.
04:07He was really good for the majority of the year.
04:09By the way, Curtis, that number on AJ Brown, only seven and a half.
04:13Okay.
