Kevin Richardson, the Lion Whisperer, takes LION sisters Echo and Naiobi for an enrichment walk in the wilderness area and gives us a health update for Echo and Vayetse. Also, towards the end of the video, Kevin moves Rescued LION Brothers George and Yame to the camp next to the walking area.

00:29has hit us with vengeance and I'm actually glad that I'm going for a walk with Niobi and Echo because

00:39think it's going to get the blood flowing and I'd like to update you on the blood results of Echo
00:46and I will throw in Vietzi's results as well so that you're all up to speed with what's going
00:52down here Echo and Vietzi were sedated for bloods by Dr. Caldwell I was worried about the weight loss
01:02especially in Echo and Vietzi as well but especially in Echo not so much Niobi and
01:10I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything sinister going on and so yeah I'll be
01:18discussing that as we go walking with these two lovely old ladies oh hello my girlie oh let's go come

04:51today but that's okay and I will talk a little bit about why this kind of thing is very important
04:58um for these two lions um that goes hand in hand with the bloods that I'm going to just briefly

05:12but yeah from heart stopping moments to relief we can finally get on with our walk all right freedom

05:53yes time for a bit of exercise grandma hey oh
06:05shame you can still see the shave marks on her
06:12left hand leg where the drip was and also the
06:17shave marks on her neck where they take the blood from the jugular and uh you know that's going to
06:26take a little bit of time for the hair to grow back

06:35all right guys so uh where do i begin i so i noticed the weight loss in echo all right
06:45um
06:47when i consulted with george i think it's i think it's rapid i i've seen a you know the difference
06:55between niobe and echo in terms of muscle wastage has been has been pronounced so echo is looking uh skinny
07:12and a line of this age is not atypical for them to have some um issues with the kidneys and
07:20uh with
07:21cats we know that you know in older aged cats it can be uh protein loss through the kidneys
07:29and it it you know results in um the muscle atrophying so muscle atrophy and so
07:40i i wasn't happy with that and i you know always err on the side of caution so i i
07:46contacted dr
07:47caldwell the bloods went away for analysis and i got the report back last week um and
07:57yeah i was a bit concerned uh it was going to be some bad news but guys the news is
08:08good um echo's
08:10bloods came back actually phenomenally good and not just phenomenally good for a line of her age
08:18phenomenally good just generally her blood work came back like good perfect so nothing wrong with echo
08:29on that front and what we basically have put her weight loss or her muscle loss down to is just
08:38old age
08:39this is very important for these two old ladies to just go for a nice walk and get those muscles
08:45working
08:45again hey yeah walking's good
08:55this is what these walks do they incentivize them to go out and explore and smell new things and see
09:02new
09:02things and get excited about things look at her now how happy she is are you happy
09:13this cat she's such a funny girl she's like that naughty old granny i love it absolutely love it
09:19oh there goes the most serious girl yes more serious in nature hello my girl but we still love echo
09:28echo we do love echo the whole point of this as i've said before is exercise um getting the the
09:36limbs
09:37moving and the exercise doesn't just extend to the muscle groups but it extends to the brain as well
09:44so it keeps the brain stimulated and funny whenever we go walking uh these lions we always come across a
09:52monarch butterfly and i'm not even joking it's siam we've even got a shirt guys not this one one of
10:02my
10:03favorites the paw print shirt the paw on hand um the hoodie i love this hoodie even the color i
10:11love the
10:11the red wine color but go and check out the niobe merch it's a portrait of niobe very beautifully done
10:20and
10:21it's got the monarch butterfly that landed on her face and shortly after siam who was the male within
10:28this group he unfortunately passed away um and when he did we went on an enrichment walk and we came
10:37across this monarch butterfly and it would not leave us alone it literally followed us around and then
10:45landed on niobe's nose and i just thought to myself that is got to be siam siam is here and
10:52present and
10:53i'm not joking whenever we take these two for a walk we will come across a monarch butterfly it's crazy
11:00okay so while i'm waiting for the two old girls to catch up not far behind um i just want
11:08to take this
11:08opportunity guys to thank all of you who are part of my community um the lion whisperer community
11:18it starts with the community of subscribers and what we see is those subscribers come into the
11:26community some of them knew don't know really what this is all about and then they sit on the
11:32periphery periphery periphery and watch then we see others who are more regular subscribers and they
11:38start to comment we see regulars commenting on the content and starting to learn who who's who in the
11:46zoo and then we see people saying well they love what they're seeing and what we do and they want
11:55to get
11:55involved uh a little bit more and then they look at the memberships and the memberships um obviously is
12:03a financial contribution to help me um sustain and maintain uh things that we do here at the sanctuary but
12:10also uh the maintenance of the channel and the ability to continue to bring videos that's where the
12:16membership comes in it also allows me to travel outside of the the the sanctuary which is one what i've
12:23been wanting to do more and more and bring you guys beautiful wild content from all around the world not
12:30just africa that's where the memberships come in then there's also a paid subscription on facebook
12:37and those are also paid members of the channel okay um and and so a massive shout out to those
12:44people
12:44because without them obviously financially the channel wouldn't be as as successful as it is
12:51uh so a massive massive shout out to to uh members and paid subscribers on facebook and then guys
12:58finally uh there is a group of people who just want to take it the next level up and we
13:04have that uh
13:05pride leaders tier and the pride leaders i mean obviously you guys have been fantastic i mean i see
13:14uh the commentary all over the place and my team does try and aggregate um those comments from
13:21specifically pride leaders and members and paid subscribers but also commentary from general
13:27subscribers to the channel and then we try and as a community uh bring you the content that you want
13:33to see or answer the questions that you want answered and sometimes it's not always easy guys it's not
13:39always easy to produce the content that you all want to want to see and everyone has an idea and
13:45a view
13:45which is great um but in general and i can say this having uh formed this channel back in 2014
13:55in general
13:57most people are just so positive it's such a breath of fresh air in a a world where where by
14:06where whatever
14:07news kind of you turn on it's bloody doom and gloom and and uh you know it's just negativity
14:15and here online whispered tv i always get the commentary saying uh or talking about how uplifting
14:23this content is not just for um the animals okay uh that are experiencing it like eko and obi but
14:32for the people um watching the content a lot of people have commenting commented on how
14:39lion whispered tv has helped them through um really rough times so emotionally tough and rough times
14:49which i never ever you know when i never envisaged the channel doing that kind of thing when i started
14:56lion whispered tv it was really just to connect uh an audience with what we do with the content and
15:03so
15:04to hear that people watch my channel regularly and it's helped them through the loss of a loved one
15:12it's helped them through um fighting off a dread disease it's helped them through um emotional heart
15:20break um divorce oh man you name it we've had people write in and tell us all about that and
15:28and inspire
15:28people so guys massive thanks to all of you and i hope you continue to watch i really do and

20:17of the sanctuary um even though georgian yummy aren't that young anymore 12 years of age
20:25um actually getting on in age but anyway we still consider them young uh by the sanctuary standards

21:35I was a bit worried about Faietsi, to be honest.
21:37I thought some of the levels there looked a little bit high, but, you know, obviously
21:45you've got to know what you're looking at, and as Dr. Caldwell explained, the limits for
21:52domestic animals versus wild big cats, like lions, are different.
21:57So he enlightened me of those values, or to those values.
22:03So yeah, all in all, we're just looking at old age in both Faietsi and Echo, and I suppose
22:11Naobi too, at this point in time, nothing to be worried about.
22:15So very happy about that.
