00:01Brothers, let me tell you something that happened to me. Here's what happened. A
00:05lady who is a widow came to me and started telling me about her life with
00:09her late husband. She suffered a lot you know and she asked me the following.
00:14Pastor, how is marriage going to work in heaven? Because if I have to stay married
00:19to that man pastor, for God's sake, I don't want to go to heaven at all. And
00:24then I started thinking about that question, right? Of course I answer here
00:27according to the Bible, not according to what I think. But then other questions
00:31came to my mind that I want to clarify. I'll cover all of them here for you.
00:35Today in this video you will be impressed to see how relevant the Bible, the Word
00:40of God is and how it has answers for everything we ask. They, in fact 2,000
00:47years ago, they asked Jesus this same question and Jesus gave an impressive
00:52surprising answer, which I will clarify here as well. Now, imagine
00:57another case here. Imagine that a woman met a man of God, a guy who truly walked in
01:02the ways of the Lord, a man who lived according to the Word and suddenly,
01:07unfortunately, he ended up getting sick and died. So then, this woman suffered a
01:13lot because she had lived happily with him for a long time, but the pain started to
01:17fade and she understood that everything was under God's control. And she decided to
01:23open her heart again, to someone. She met a new love, a man of God as well, a man from
01:28the church who sought the Lord, but he also passed away. And then, when this woman leaves
01:35this earth, imagine her arriving there and coming face to face with these two men.
01:40What do you think that meeting will be like? How will their relationship be? Will
01:45there be jealousy? Will there be that awkward atmosphere, you know? Will she stay
01:49married to the first or the second or neither of them? Yeah, there are so many
01:54questions. I'll explain it to you here in the simplest way possible, as clearly as I can,
01:59so you can live here today with this question answered. Amen? If you like content
02:05like this, if you like learning about the Bible in the simplest way possible and if
02:10you want to grow spiritually and receive the prayers I'll be saying here every
02:14day, then subscribe to my channel. Okay? So let's get started. Brothers, I know this
02:20is a question that has already crossed your mind, but you didn't have the courage to
02:24ask or there was no one to answer this question. That's right, I want to start by
02:28talking here about this question that some people had in the time of Jesus. Let me
02:33first explain to you who asked this question and you understand what they
02:37were getting at. At that time there was a very strong religious and political
02:41group called the Sadducees, remember that name, and they made up the leadership of
02:46Jerusalem. They were men who had a lot of wealth, a lot of material possessions, and
02:52they also had a lot of influence in society, but their way of thinking was this, they
02:56didn't believe that the dead would rise again, and they also didn't believe in
03:00angels or in the spiritual world. So since they thought that our life is
03:05limited only to this earth and that there is no life after death, the Sadducees set
03:11a trap to try to catch Jesus and show that he didn't have knowledge of the
03:15scriptures. So they went to the Bible, they took a passage from Deuteronomy chapter 25
03:22verses 6 to 10, which said that if a man died without children, his brother should
03:29marry the widow, simply to carry on the family line and to protect the family. And
03:33then they brought a question to Jesus, they said this. Imagine that seven brothers
03:40married the same woman, one after the other, and all died without living children, and
03:45finally that woman died, and they asked this. Jesus, in the resurrection, which of
03:52these seven men, whose wife would this woman be, since all of them were married to
03:57her? They thought they had cornered the Son of God, you know? Because if Jesus said
04:01she would be married to the first, then it would be unfair to the others, right? And
04:07if he said she would be married to the last man, then he would be taking away the
04:11rights of the first ones. And if he chose all the men, then Jesus would be
04:15condoning sin, because she would be married to seven men. So they thought
04:21Jesus would fall for this trick. But look at the answer he gave. I'll read it to you.
04:26Matthew chapter 22 verses 29 and 30. It is written like this. Jesus answered,
04:35Your mistake is that you don't know the scriptures or the power of God. For in the
04:40resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. They will be like
04:45angels in heaven. Look at this, brothers, how interesting this is. This answer from
04:50Jesus was very enlightening, and it put an end to that trap they set against him,
04:54because Jesus showed that they were wrong for two reasons. First, because they
05:00didn't really know the Bible, and second, because they were trying to limit God's
05:04power by using the logic of this life. In fact, brothers, I believe that many
05:10people have a wrong idea about heaven, because they imagine heaven as a
05:14continuation of our routine here on earth. Where the only thing that won't exist
05:19are diseases, there will be no more death or suffering. But brothers, I want to make
05:24one thing very clear. Heaven is not a copy of earth. Eternity operates by much
05:30higher spiritual laws. For example, what is marriage? It is a union that was blessed by
05:35God, but it was made only for this earthly life, and it has a set time to end, which is
05:41the moment when a person dies. Ok? And the Apostle Paul later explained this in the
05:48letter to the Romans, in a very simple way, so there will be no doubt in our hearts about
05:53how the bond of marriage simply ends at the end of our life. I am going to read it to
05:58you,
05:58pay close attention. Romans chapter 7 verses 2 to 3. He said this,
06:04When a woman gets married, the law binds her to her husband, as long as he is alive. If, however,
06:12he dies, she will be free from the law of marriage. Therefore, if she marries another man while her
06:17husband is still alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she will be free from
06:23that
06:24law and will not be an adulteress if she marries again. Look at these brothers. Here the Apostle Paul
06:31is saying that death separates a couple, that is, the bond you had with that person ends before God.
06:38But before I continue, I want to make a quick side note here, because I know that at this point
06:43a lot
06:43of people have doubts. I know the topic of this video isn't even to discuss in what situation a
06:49person can separate or get married, in what situations they can get married again. But I need
06:54to explain something, so no one misunderstands this verse. When the Apostle Paul says that the woman is
07:01bound to her husband as long as he lives, he is not trying to explain here all the situations that
07:06can happen within a marriage. He is just using marriage as an example to teach that death ends the
07:12bond. And the Bible itself deals with this subject in other passages. Jesus thought, for example,
07:18that in cases of sexual infidelity, of betrayal. In that case, the person can separate. And Paul also
07:25said that a person who is abandoned by their spouse is no longer bound to that marriage obligation. And
07:31there are even more serious cases, right? Like cases of physical violence and when a person is at risk of
07:37losing their life. So in that case, no one should think that God requires a person to stay at home,
07:43being abused and in danger. In fact, she should, she can and should report her husband. Or the husband can
07:52report the wife to the police, you know? It's a serious case where the person is at risk of losing
07:57their life. So we can't just take those two verses from Romans that Paul mentioned and use them to condemn
08:03everyone who has gone through a divorce or pre-built their life. Each situation needs to be analyzed,
08:10brothers, very carefully, in the light of the scriptures. And I'm not going to go deeper into
08:15this subject here today because it's not the focus of the video. What we need to understand here is that
08:21Paul is showing that death definitely ends the bond of that marriage. That's why when a person becomes
08:27a widow and then gets married again, she is not betraying that person. She is not being disloyal
08:34to the person who passed away, okay? But then comes the question that a lot of people have, right?
08:40Pastor, if marriage ends at death, does that mean I won't recognize my husband or my wife in heaven?
08:46Does that mean that the relationship we shared, whether good or bad, will simply be erased from our
08:52memory? Brothers, of course not. God is not a God of amnesia. God is a God of history, of restoration,
09:01and the Bible gives us very clear proof of this, that in eternity we will recognize each other. Amen?
09:07Think for example on the Mount of Transfiguration. The Bible says that when Jesus went up the mountain
09:12with Peter, James and John, who appeared there? Moses and Elijah talking with him. And it's worth
09:19remembering that Moses had died more than 1400 years earlier, and Elijah had been taken up to heaven
09:25many centuries before. And even so, the disciples recognized them, meaning that each one's identity
09:32was not destroyed in eternity. In fact, they were glorified, but they remained the same people,
09:38and they recognized each other. Another example is when David lost his little son that he had with
09:44Bathsheba, the child died, and he fasted. But when the child died, what did he do? He washed himself,
09:51he worshipped God, and he said an unforgettable phrase, I will go to him, but he will not return to
09:57me. What did David mean by these brothers? He wanted to show that he had absolute conviction,
10:03that one day he would meet his son again in eternity, and he would know exactly who he was.
10:08Brothers, this is wonderful, this has everything to do with the heart of our God. So know this,
10:15in heaven, you will recognize your father, your mother, your children, and yes, you will recognize
10:22the person you are married to here on earth. I am fully convinced, according to everything I have
10:27read in the Bible, that you will remember the struggles you overcame together, the prayers you
10:32prayed on your knees there in the living room, the moments of joy. In other words, your story will
10:38not be erased. But here brothers, is the secret that most people never understood. You will recognize
10:44that person, but the nature of your relationship will not be that of a husband and wife, because
10:50it will be infinitely better, superior. Amen? You will be like two brothers in faith. You were washed and
10:57redeemed by the blood of Jesus. You now have glorified bodies. You will be living in perfect communion.
11:04And another detail, in heaven there will be no room for jealousy, for resentment, for bad memories.
11:11Nothing that brings you suffering, because God's love will fill few our hearts. His glory will be upon
11:19us all the time and within us. So think about why marriage exists here on earth. God created
11:25matrimony for three main reasons, brothers. The first is companionship, right? Against loneliness.
11:31That person who used to feel so lonely, God gives them a gift. God can place someone in that person's
11:38path. In fact, when God made Eve for Adam, he did this after saying, it is not good for men
11:45to be alone.
11:46So that's the first reason, right? Why God created marriage. The second is procreation.
11:52It's so that the couple can continue the human race. And the other reason is so that the couple
11:57is morally protected. Brother, have you noticed that when a person is married, they have greater
12:04protection, because they help each other, they have a commitment to each other. And when they take
12:10it seriously, when they really want to obey the word of God, they are better able to resist temptations.
12:15Of course, single people can also walk with God. But in marriage, this helps a lot, right? So you
12:22have to understand that in heaven, there will be no more loneliness, because we will be completely
12:28immersed in the presence of God. There will also be no more children being born, because the full number
12:33of those who are saved will have been reached. And there will also be no more temptation, no more sin,
12:40because our bodies will be transformed into incorruptible bodies. The love we know here on earth,
12:47as beautiful as it may be, is still a limited love, many times, right? Often full of jealousy,
12:53often taken over by a sense of possession. How many couples out there are so attached,
12:58because they don't trust each other or simply put their dependence on the other? So I want you to know
13:04that in this case I told you about, where a woman had two husbands and both died. When they're in
13:10heaven,
13:11the first husband and the second husband, they won't look at each other with rivalry. In fact,
13:16they will embrace each other as brothers, because they've already been transformed by God. And the wife
13:21won't have to choose between one or the other either, because neither of them will belong to her,
13:27and she won't belong to either of them. Everyone will belong to Christ. Amen? And I don't know if you
13:33know,
13:33but the marriage we have here on earth is actually a shadow of something greater. It's as if marriage
13:40here represents the invisible marriage between Jesus and his church. And the Apostle Paul said there
13:46in Ephesians that the husband should love his wife as Christ loved the church. This will no longer be
13:52necessary, because now the groom, who is Jesus, he will be there before us, and his church will be his
13:59eternal bride. Amen? And pay attention brothers to a detail Jesus mentioned, we will be like the angels
14:06in heaven. So pay close attention, because Jesus did not say that we will become angels. Human beings
14:13brothers, do not turn into angels when they die. Angels are a class of beings created by God who have
14:19a different nature from ours. We will be glorified human beings. So what did Jesus mean when he said that
14:26we would be like the angels? Is that angels do not marry, they do not multiply, and they spend all
14:32their
14:32time, 24 hours a day, just worshipping, worshipping and serving God in perfect harmony. And there's
14:39another detail as well that few people talk about, but when the Bible talks about transformation, it is
14:44showing us that our glorified body will be similar to the resurrected body of Jesus. Remember when Jesus had
14:51already risen and he appeared to the disciples? That's right, he ate with them, he talked with them, he
14:58walked with them. Jesus had the marks of the nails right on his body. He didn't have the same physical
15:06limitations that we have here on earth. For example, Jesus went through the wall when he entered the
15:13building where the disciples were, you know? So our glorified body will be like that too. I imagine that we
15:21will teleport from one place to another, I imagine that heaven is nothing like what we think, it won't
15:26be something boring, it won't be something boring or tiring, where you just be there in a white robe,
15:34right with little wings and playing the harp all day long. It's nothing like that, you will work,
15:40you will do things in your daily life that will bring you a lot of satisfaction. Because this suffering
15:46we have nowadays with work, that came after sin. But when Adam lived in the garden, in the garden of
15:52Eden, it was very pleasant there. In fact the word garden of Eden means the garden of pleasures,
16:00so it will be something wonderful for sure and that's why if you are a widower, if you are a
16:05widow,
16:06if God put someone in your path, if you found a good person, a godly person, love them with all
16:12your heart.
16:14Be faithful in your marriage, okay? With a lot of joy, without any feeling of guilt. If you lost
16:20someone, you can honor the memory of the one who is gone, but live today as if it were your
16:26last day,
16:26as if Jesus were coming back today, amen? Give your best, live with God, walk with the Lord. Because
16:33maybe the most important question isn't who I'm going to be with in heaven, but the most urgent question
16:39is this, are we really going to make it to heaven? Brothers, salvation is not by our own merits,
16:46it's not because we are smart or have a good heart, it's none of that, we are all sinners.
16:53We all deserved condemnation, we were heading to hell, but Jesus took our place. He suffered the
17:00punishment that we deserved and today he is offering us forgiveness, grace and mercy. Don't keep
17:07wondering if your relative, your ex-husband, your ex-wife, if they went to heaven or not or what it
17:13will be like there. Don't cling to things God himself hasn't fully revealed, amen? But be concerned
17:20about your spiritual life today. If you died today, answer me or answer it to yourself. Are you absolutely
17:27sure where your soul will spend eternity? Because if your heart stops beating today, will you open your
17:34eyes before the glory of God? Or will you wake up in a place you wouldn't want to be, in
17:40darkness,
17:40in eternal separation from God? Brothers, don't leave the matter of salvation for tomorrow, because no
17:47one knows what will happen tomorrow. The time to repent is today. Give your heart to Jesus and say to
17:54him,
17:54Jesus, I receive you as my Lord and Savior. I repent of all my sins. Write my name in the
18:02book of life.
18:03Amen, brothers. May God do a beautiful work in your heart. I hope I have answered and cleared up the
18:10doubt you had. Follow me here on the channel. I'll leave another very interesting video here on the screen.
18:16I believe it will speak to your heart. God bless you. Sending you a big hug.
