19:53In villages, in small towns, most of the country never hears about.
19:59Until the students decide and they say enough is enough.
20:03And now politics is finally catching up to it.
20:07You heard different political parties responding and now CJP as well has announced that it will launch a dedicated campaign
20:13for this generation, Gen Alpha.
20:16They are calling it, School Thiek Karo.
20:19Alongside it, the party has also floated something called a Sarpanch Challenge.
20:23Sort of aimed squarely at the same demand that students keep raising, fix the basics first.
20:30Now, given the sheer intensity of what we are seeing on the ground all around you in those visuals as
20:34well,
20:35we decided here on Five Live that we needed more than just a one-off story.

20:45Every protest, every demand, every state, tracked in one place.
21:03Let's start today's tracker with what's happening in Jharkand.
21:06Here, a teacher's transfer has triggered a student protest that has spread from the district headquarters all the way to
21:12Kandi.
21:13Students of the plus two high school near Kandi police station are opposing the transfer of the teacher, Malai Singh.
21:20The protest has now continued for three days and the tensions have escalated.
21:25Students blocked the roads, demanded that the transfer be stopped.
21:28And for a teacher's transfer in Jharkand to classroom struggling with too few teachers in Rajasthan, the story is continuing.
21:37Which brings me to Rajasthan. In Bundi there, students of the government senior secondary school in Dharun, along with the
21:45families,
21:46locked the school premises, yes, we've heard that story before, and took their protest onto the road.
21:51They blocked the nearby highway over there. It is SH-34 for around an hour. Their demand was straightforward.
22:01Appoint more teachers. Again, a movie that we've seen before.
22:05Students raised slogans against the education department saying shortage is directly affecting their studies.
22:11And then, what happened? Instant justice. Officials reached the spot, held talks with the protesting students and assured them that
22:19teaching staff would be increased.
22:21Following that assurance, the blockade was lifted and traffic movement resumed.
22:26But for some students, the fight is not just about teachers, it is about whether the education system is accessible
22:32to them at all.
22:34Which brings me to Dehradun.
22:36Hundreds of visually impaired students at the National Institute of the Visually Handicapped have now been on strike for five
22:44days.
22:46They are raising concerns over the cost of books, inadequate braille facilities and healthcare services as well.
22:53They are also demanding restoration of an undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship.
22:58But according to the protestors, the protesting students as we call them, has stayed suspended for nearly three years.
23:06Three years and no scholarship.
23:08Students are also, you know, questioning the institute's leadership, saying the Dehradun facility has gone without a permanent director for
23:16a prolonged period.
23:18Look at them, hand in hand, going around the school.
23:23They cannot see, but they want the system to look and take notice.
23:28And for accessibility as well, that's their main fight inside the classroom.
23:34And let's move on now from that.
23:37It's day five for students in Rajasthan.
23:41But what about schools in Madhya Pradesh?
23:44In Rajgad, hundreds of girls took to the roads with two demands.
23:49Remove a liquor shop located opposite their school and stall speed breakers outside it.
23:55Students from the PM Shree school and the girls school in the area staged road blockade for nearly two hours.
24:03They say the liquid shop and the liquor shop over there sits opposite the school and near a temple, while
24:11speeding vehicles outside pose an additional safety risk.
24:15Administrative officials reached the spot, assured the students that action would be taken on both demands within a month.

25:15leaving around 60 to 70 students struggling with their daily commute.
25:19The students approach the Indore collector with their concern and demand it that regular city service be restored.
25:26The collector has now ordered immediate arrangements and sent the students to school by a city bus.
25:34But the students want more than a temporary solution.
25:38They are demanding regular public transport on that route so that getting to school does not itself become a risk
25:45to their lives.

29:03CGP has now laid out a 30-day cycle for this and the first 15 days of citizens to audit
29:08and flag gaps.
29:10The next 15 to track whether repairs actually happen.
29:15The target for now is 100 schools in two months.
29:19A model, CGP says, it wants to scale to thousands of villages.
29:24The pitch is inspect, document, demand, track and the CGP is calling it non-partisan for now.
29:32Pushing MPs and MLAs to back it with results on ground rather than in political speeches.
