Political tensions have intensified in New Delhi following the five-day judicial remand of Cockroach Janata Party members Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka in Tihar Jail. The individuals were detained by Delhi Police after climbing barricades at Jantar Mantar to unfurl the national flag. In response, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke called for a demonstration at Connaught Place Central Park on 16 October. Leaders across the opposition INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, and Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, criticized the crackdown, while BJP spokesperson Dr. Ajay Alok defended police restrictions citing prohibited protest zones. Meanwhile, televised debates highlighted disputes among student groups, SFI, and Congress representatives regarding democratic rights and assembly restrictions. Indian Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib approached the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court challenging the de-notification of Jantar Mantar as a protest site. Concurrently, Rahul Gandhi joined the demonstration demanding justice for Ankita Bhandari near India Gate.

00:00The latest news coming in, the face-off has escalated over Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka's arrest while they continue
00:06to be in Teha jail in five days custody.
00:09CJP cheat Abhijit Dipke, who landed in Delhi at 4pm, has now announced and called for a stir on October
00:1716th.
00:18Abhijit Dipke says, join us on October 16th at Central Park in Connaught Place.
00:23Abhijit Dipke says, Das Ranka jailed for waiving the tricolour, waiving Tiranga is not a crime.
00:30So, another call for protest this time by CJP leader Abhijit Dipke, who says that 16th of October is the
00:41day where you come to CP to unfurl, Connaught Place, Central Delhi, to unfurl the Tiranga.
00:49This is a look.
00:59You can find that Saurabh and Ashutosh Ranka just went to jail jail.
01:34So, I'm going to request the people who love Tiranga.
01:44Hello everyone,
01:46as you know,
01:48Saurav and Ashu are just
01:50in jail jail.
01:52So,
01:53I request people,
01:54I request people
01:5716 October,
01:59you will come to Central Park
02:01Cannot Place,
02:02and we will tell you
02:06that the waving of the tiling is not a crime.
02:09And those who can't come from Delhi,
02:11they will leave the tiling in their cities
02:14and tell them
02:18that our tiling is our pride
02:20and that it is not a crime.
02:23It may happen,
02:23after that,
02:24I will also put it in jail.
02:25But I don't care,
02:27my tiling is my pride
02:28and I will be a crime.
02:30Alright, so the Cockroach Janta Party
02:32has given out the next clarion call
02:34for protest,
02:35and that is
02:37Abhiji Dipke asking all supporters
02:40of the CJP to protest
02:41and come towards
02:43Cannot Place, Central Park
02:45and unfurl the tricolour there.
02:48Abhiji Dipke says he might be arrested.
02:50He's also asked those
02:51who cannot make it to the national capital
02:53to unfurl the tricolour
02:55in whichever state that they are in.
02:57So, once again,
02:59a call for protest given out
03:01by the Cockroach Janta Party.
03:0310th October viewers
03:04was met by a heavy hand,
03:06a clampdown to crackdown
03:08by the Delhi Police
03:10and other paramilitary forces.
03:12What can we expect now?
03:13Because even now,
03:15every time,
03:16flash groups of protest
03:18that are taking place in CP
03:20are immediately detained.
03:22So, once again,
03:24this is poise for a face-off
03:26between protestors
03:27and the paramilitary forces,
03:29the Delhi Police
03:31in the national capital.
03:32I want to cut across immediately
03:34to my colleague,
03:35Anmol Bali,
03:35who's joining us.
03:36Anmol,
03:37of what we've seen today,
03:39the banhomi between
03:40the opposition and the CJP,
03:42where practically
03:43every political party
03:44in the opposition
03:45has criticised
03:48the arrest
03:50of Cockroach Janta Party members
03:52and pledged support
03:54to the CJP.
03:55on the 16th,
03:57what are you picking up
03:58from opposition parties?
04:00Will they be supporting
04:01this protest?
04:06Pooja,
04:07as you know,
04:08on the 10th,
04:09we have seen
04:10that thousands of protestors
04:12have gathered
04:13in the central Delhi
04:14where thousands of police persons
04:15and paramilitary forces
04:16were deployed
04:17and as they were trying
04:18to master the Jantar Mantar,
04:19they were detained.
04:20Today we have seen
04:21that again a call
04:21has been given
04:23by Abhijit Dipke,
04:24the founder of
04:25the Cockroach Janta Party
04:26on 16th October
04:27at 5pm
04:28to come to the Central Park
04:29for the Lahara Dottiranga movement
04:31and today we have also seen
04:32that after Saurav Das
04:34and Ashutosh Ranka
04:35were sent for
04:36five-day judicial custody,
04:38we have seen the support
04:39coming from Rahul Gandhi,
04:40MK Stalin,
04:41Mamata Banerjee,
04:42all of the opposition leaders,
04:44majority from the India Bloc leaders
04:46have tweeted in support
04:47of Abhijit Dipke
04:49and the Cockroach Janta Party
04:50and now their call
04:51for their protest
04:52at the Central Park
04:53could be seen
04:54as their strategy
04:55to make Knaut Plate
04:56which is near
04:57to the Jantar Mantar
04:58as another protest site
05:00because from the last
05:00three to four days
05:01we are seeing that
05:02various left organizations
05:03from ISA to ASI and SFI
05:05and from NSI,
05:05the Congress Party student wing,
05:07they are all trying
05:08to make Knaut Plate
05:09the Central Delhi
05:10a protest site
05:11and now this is
05:12another challenge
05:13for the Delhi police
05:13and paramilitary forces
05:15to stop the CJP
05:16for the Lahara Dottiranga movement
05:18on 16th October.
05:18What it seems like is
05:19there's another face-off
05:20that is now going,
05:21brewing already
05:21between CJP supporters
05:23as well as Delhi police
05:25and paramilitary forces.
05:26The clarion call for protest
05:27announced by the CJP
05:29is the 16th of October.
05:30The venue is Central Park
05:32could not place
05:33which has already become
05:34a flashpoint
05:35in terms of protests
05:37that are taking place.
05:38I want to cut across
05:38right now to TMC
05:40Lok Sabha MP Senior Leader
05:42Mahua Moitro
05:43who is joining us live.
05:44Ms. Moitro,
05:45thank you for taking the time out.
05:46Allow me to ask you
05:47a first quick question.
05:48Where does the TMC
05:50Mamata Banerjee faction
05:52stand on the protest call
05:54by Abhiji Dipke
05:55which is the 16th of this month?
05:57Will a political party
05:59like yours be joining in?
06:04As our leader Mamata Banerjee
06:06has already tweeted today,
06:08she said that
06:09we've always stood for democracy
06:10over the years
06:11and we continue to do that
06:13and what has happened today
06:14is a blot on democracy.
06:16Jantan Mantar is a public place.
06:19You cannot be criminally,
06:20you cannot be trespassing
06:21on a public place, A.
06:24B, criminal trespass
06:26has to have intent
06:26to do something criminal.
06:29In this case,
06:29all they did was unfurl
06:30the flag
06:31and the last time we saw
06:32that was a crime
06:33was under British colonial rule
06:34and also what we've seen here
06:37is they say
06:37it's breach of peace.
06:38How is unfurling a flag
06:39breach of peace?
06:41So we are with them 100%.
06:42Mamata Banerjee
06:43has tweeted her support
06:45and as have all the other
06:46India Alliance leaders.
06:48So we are with,
06:49behind them 100%.
06:51Ms. Moitro,
06:52you yourself did get roughed up
06:54the last time around you
06:55went out in protest.
06:58Will there be physical presence
07:01of opposition parties
07:02in this protest
07:03because till now
07:03we've seen a complete
07:05demarcation where
07:06at one end
07:07when the opposition protest,
07:09the India Alliance
07:10is separate
07:11and then there is the call
07:12of the CJP.
07:13Do we see the merging
07:14of parts right now?
07:16Because the language
07:17seems to suggest
07:18there is one common cause
07:19and every part
07:20should come together.
07:24It's definitely one common cause
07:26and everything has to come together.
07:28The, the,
07:28all of us are together
07:30as you've seen
07:30with the solidarity shown
07:31of the,
07:32of the Gen Z young protestors
07:34with us and us with them.
07:36So it's definitely one
07:37and that is
07:37to reclaim our democracy.
07:39There's no doubt about that.
07:41Now when the youngsters,
07:42when Gen Z,
07:43when the students are protesting,
07:45the senior leaders
07:47have taken a call
07:47that we don't want to go in
07:48and cramp their space.
07:50So we don't want to go in
07:51and cramp their space.
07:52And political parties,
07:53there are a lot of people
07:54in this country still
07:55who believe that
07:57they don't want to align
07:58with a particular political party.
08:00But at the same time
08:01for something like this,
08:02like vote chori,
08:03like reclaiming democracy,
08:05they still want to be out there.
08:06So we want to leave
08:07the space open
08:08that if there are people
08:09who want to be,
08:10you know,
08:11without political colour
08:12but to go in
08:13and reclaim democracy
08:14from the hands
08:15of these laups and goons,
08:16that they're free to do that.
08:17Which is why
08:18we have,
08:18we have been doing our,
08:20our protests on different days
08:22and leaving the CJP
08:23and the youngsters
08:24to do it on different days.
08:26So I don't know
08:26if they will converge later
08:27but as of now,
08:28this has been simply done
08:29to leave everyone their space.
08:31But we are all
08:32in the same fight together,
08:33fighting for the same goal.
08:35Ms. Moitra,
08:36you had the Home Minister yesterday
08:37after even senior cabinet ministers
08:40like Piyush Goel.
08:41the train of thought now
08:43is very clear.
08:44The messaging coming in
08:46from the government
08:46is an attempt
08:47on the opposition part
08:48like you,
08:50an attempt to spread anarchy,
08:52playing into foreign forces
08:54and also supporting
08:56what the Home Minister
08:56called Ghuspetias.
09:02Who is interested in the Home Minister?
09:04Is anyone interested
09:05in this Home Minister?
09:07Tell me honestly,
09:08is anyone interested,
09:09does anyone give a flying fig
09:11as to what Amit Shah says?
09:13He's been in hiding.
09:15If he's been Home Minister,
09:17this government has held
09:17the Home Portfolio
09:18for the past 12 years.
09:20If they're still giving us
09:20the bogey of Ghuspetias,
09:22like I've said this before,
09:23he's the first person
09:24whose resignation
09:25should be on the table.
09:26So, no one's listening
09:28to this dog whistling anymore.
09:30A.
09:30B. Foreign forces.
09:32If you've seen the ECI,
09:34if you've seen the ECI data infrastructure,
09:36the software,
09:37the clouds,
09:38it's all held by this company
09:39in Bangalore,
09:40NextGen,
09:41which is held by
09:43Finod Khosla,
09:43who's got ties to Epstein,
09:45who's based in Silicon Valley,
09:46who's not based in India.
09:48So, what are we talking about?
09:50This foreign infiltration,
09:53nationalist thing,
09:54we are anti-national,
09:55we've had enough of all of this.
09:56People who,
09:57there is no bigger criminal,
09:58democratic criminal
09:59in this country
10:00than someone
10:01who stole democracy
10:03and stole the mandate.
10:05And that is the BJP
10:06and the BJP ecosystem
10:07that has done it by
10:09Seema Khanna
10:10and Ganesh Kumar.
10:11There is nothing,
10:13there are no other criminals in that.
10:14Ms. Moitra, where does…
10:15So, I am Piyush Gowell.
10:16Does anyone listen to Piyush Gowell?
10:19You know, ma'am,
10:20you know,
10:20in effect,
10:21those who support the government
10:23will turn around
10:24and say the same of the opposition.
10:25So, you're well within your right
10:27to ask that question,
10:28but there's a counter-opinion
10:29on that as well.
10:30For those who do support the government
10:31and who do feel
10:32that the likes of you are spreading amity.
10:33What is the counter-opinion?
10:35I have not heard…
10:37I have not heard one counter
10:39from this government
10:40on what the main points are.
10:43I have not heard one counter
10:44from the Home Minister
10:47and Modi ji, the Prime Minister,
10:49on how Ganesh Kumar
10:52is still in his seat
10:53after it has been proven
10:54that the Election Commission
10:56has stolen the mandate.
10:58After it has been proven
11:00that people were illegally deleted
11:02without a chance for hearing
11:04from the database in this country.
11:07How…
11:07when it has been definitively proven
11:09that a majority of the 13 crore voters
11:12and definitely
11:13majority of the ones in West Bengal
11:15that have been deleted
11:17have been deleted illegally
11:18and should be back on the rolls.
11:21We've not heard…
11:22That is the main issue.
11:23The main issue is not about,
11:25you know, what you're saying,
11:26what I'm saying
11:27and this kind of tutu meh meh.
11:28This is not the issue.
11:30You said there were Ghospatiyas in Bihar.
11:32I was a petitioner in Bihar.
11:34Who were the Ghospatiyas?
11:35Could you prove at the end of the Bihar SIR
11:37how many Ghospatiyas were there?
11:39What's the number?
11:40There were 200 odd Nepali Hindu women
11:42who were married to Biharis
11:45on the border districts.
11:47In Bengal, there were 27 lakh
11:50pending adjudication
11:51where they are coming back.
11:52The hit rate of their being accepted
11:55once they are being heard at the tribunals
11:57is something close to 95%.
12:00So 95% of those 27 lakh people,
12:03now it is 32 lakh people
12:05should be back on the rolls.
12:06How many are Ghospatiyas?
12:07At the end of the Bengal exercise,
12:09give me a list of 100 Ghospatiyas
12:11that you found.
12:13Have you done that?
12:14These are the questions.
12:15This is not a question of tutu meh meh.
12:17And I would request you, Preeti,
12:18you somehow managed to take a stand
12:20somewhat divergent from India today
12:21which is complete Godi media.
12:23And I'm saying this, not you,
12:24so you're not responsible for it.
12:26But you've somehow been
12:27somewhat of a sane voice in India today.
12:29So I'm telling you on live television
12:31that it's high time
12:33that Vidya also called this out.
12:36We want real answers.
12:37This is not about Puyish Gowell
12:38doing tutu meh meh
12:39or Amit Shah doing tutu meh meh.
12:40Give us the answers.
12:41Miss Moitra, allow me to ask you
12:42one final question,
12:43but do allow me to say this.
12:44The sheer fact that I represent my channel,
12:47my channel represents me.
12:49And I just want to leave it at that.
12:50And I'm very proud to be associated
12:52with India today.
12:53And I will just now ask you
12:54one final question
12:55before we let you go.
12:56Wonderful.
12:57And I hope, yes, yes.
12:59Let me ask you one quick question
13:01before we let you go.
13:02Because the Congress
13:03has taken a very strident stand
13:05that the buck doesn't stop
13:07with the Chief Election Commissioner's resignation.
13:09They've escalated it
13:10to the Home Minister
13:12and the Prime Minister himself.
13:14Other political parties
13:15like the Samajwadi Party
13:16and even the left parties
13:17have made it very clear
13:18that their fight is limited
13:19to the resignation of the CEC.
13:21Where does the TMC stand on this?
13:26I don't think we are limited to that.
13:28I don't think and I don't know
13:29where you're quoting that from.
13:31But we've made it very clear
13:32that Amit Shah,
13:34we've said Amit Shah needs to resign
13:35a long time before.
13:37So we have said Amit Shah needs to resign
13:39ten months ago
13:39for the past two years ago.
13:41So we have made it very clear
13:42that Ganesh Kumar is not some rogue agent.
13:45Ganesh Kumar is being propped up
13:47by the government,
13:48by Amit Shah and Narendra Modi.
13:49Who is Ganesh Kumar?
13:50He's an IAS officer
13:52from who's been deputed here.
13:54Ganesh Kumar has not come from Mars
13:56on some mission
13:56to destroy Indian democracy.
13:58He's been placed here
13:58by people who destroy democracy.
14:00Why is this government
14:01after all of this uproar,
14:03all of this
14:04that people are hitting the streets
14:05bending over backwards
14:07to save Ganesh Kumar, Preeti?
14:08Who is Ganesh Kumar?
14:10He's just nothing.
14:10He's a puppet.
14:12Who are the ones holding the,
14:13who are the puppeteers?
14:14It's Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
14:16And of course the bug stops with them.
14:18If they would remove the Ganesh Kumar,
14:19they've got three other tattoos
14:20in the line to replace Ganesh Kumar.
14:22So obviously the bug doesn't stop
14:24with Ganesh Kumar.
14:25And I'm not sure that they,
14:26I don't know where you've got that
14:26that the Samaj Badi and the left.
14:28I'll tell you where I've got that from.
14:30And we've had both left parties
14:32and Samaj Badi parties
14:34who've come on the channel
14:35and said very clearly
14:36that their limited fight today
14:38is the resignation of the CEC
14:40and they're not escalating it
14:41to the HM and the PM.
14:43They've said that.
14:44But thank you for taking the time out
14:46and joining us this evening.
14:47I appreciate the time.
14:49That's not what I,
14:49that's not what I got to go away,
14:50but I definitely hope that.
14:52Okay. Fair point.
14:53Thank you, Ms. Moitra,
14:53for joining us.
14:54Appreciate it.
14:55All right viewers,
14:56let's quickly now cut across to
14:57what is seemingly now one umbrella,
15:02one unit,
15:03which is anti-CEC,
15:04political movement it can be called,
15:06entering a new phase
15:07and a new political alignment taking shape.
15:10For weeks, protests again,
15:11Gyanesh Kumar played out
15:13on separate stages.
15:14The India Bloc, ISA,
15:15and the Kokoro Janta Party
15:16shared a target,
15:18but not quite a platform.
15:19Today, Rahul Gandhi publicly,
15:23publicly backed CJP leaders,
15:24jailed over the Jantar Mantar protest.
15:26He didn't name the CJP,
15:28but he showed solidarity on the protest.
15:30CJP leader,
15:31Abhijit Dipke,
15:32in turn,
15:33thanked the leader of opposition.
15:34Is there a significant shift?
15:37Could we see the CJP
15:39and the opposition alliance
15:40now come under the same umbrella?
15:42Here's more.
16:01The protest against CEC Gyanesh Kumar has entered a new phase.
16:06Since the Indian Express report of September 23rd on the divide within the EC,
16:12protests have erupted under different banners.
16:15Same target, same demands,
16:17but separate protests until now.
16:20Nearly three weeks later,
16:22the India Bloc, ISA, and CJP are finding common ground.
16:27And today, Rahul Gandhi has thrown his weight behind CJP.
16:30The leader of opposition has condemned the arrest of CJP leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das,
16:37remanded to five days of judicial custody over the Jantar Mantar protest.
16:43CJP founder,
16:44Abhijit Dipke,
16:45in turn,
16:46has thanked Rahul Gandhi.
16:48The Kaukroj Janta Party is an independent pressure group,
16:51and it will always be an independent pressure group.
16:53But it doesn't mean that we are against the India Bloc.
16:56The impact of the India Bloc,
16:58and our impact,
16:59is for one cause.
17:02A first public show of support between the two sides
17:05that have largely kept their distance.
17:07When CJP protested against need paper leaks in July,
17:11Rahul Gandhi stayed away.
17:17On October 10,
17:19Congress skipped CJP's anti-CEC protest.
17:26Two days later,
17:28CJP was absent from the India Bloc's march to the Supreme Court,
17:31though ISA's Neha Bora joined it.
17:34Different protests,
17:36different platforms,
17:37one common target.
17:41Then came Rahul Gandhi's high tea with India Bloc leaders on Tuesday,
17:46attended by Neha Bora,
17:47now a key face of the movement.
17:49Together, they addressed the media,
17:51insisting there was only one protest,
17:54under different banners.
17:55We are all standing here together,
17:59as one.
18:02As I said yesterday,
18:04there are no parallel protests.
18:07There is one singular protest.
18:10And the protest has one mission.
18:18Restoration of democracy in India.
18:22When we say,
18:23we the people versus the BJP,
18:25we are talking about one fight.
18:28We are talking about one common enemy.
18:31One enemy of the people of this country.
18:33One enemy of the democracy,
18:36of Indian democracy.
18:37One enemy of the constitution.
18:40And the name of that enemy is the BJP.
18:42And with CGP leaders in custody,
18:46India Bloc allies have rallied behind them.
18:49But this solidarity comes barely 10 days after an ugly social media feud
18:54between supporters of CGP and Congress,
18:57with both sides trading barbs over who was leading the movement.
19:03So what has changed?
19:04A common adversary?
19:06The crackdown on protestors?
19:08Or the realization that separate protests have limited impact?
19:12The BJP, meanwhile, has mocked the emerging alignment.
19:17On one side, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party.
19:20On the other side,
19:21the CGP,
19:22the armed man party,
19:24the proxy team.
19:25All of them know all of them.
19:42The opposition is now attempting to turn scattered protest into a united front
19:48against CEC Gyanish Kumar and the Narendra Modi government.
19:52But one show of solidarity cannot erase weeks of friction.
19:58Will this unity outlast the moment?
20:01Can a common cause translate into sustained street power and political gains?
20:07For now, the opposition has found common ground.
20:11Whether it can hold it is the real test.
20:16Bureau Report, India Today.
20:22Anvivas, the test has now come already.
20:25The clarin call from the Cockroach Janata Party has gone out for the 16th October.
20:30Will we see a coming together of forces?
20:33Because today, or rather yesterday, Rahul Gandhi made one thing very clear.
20:37There are no parallel protests.
20:39There is one protest.
20:40So are we going to see one protest on the 16th?
20:44Let's cut across to our panelists this evening.
20:48Aishi Ghosh, All India Joint Secretary SFI, who has been very, very present on ground,
20:56protesting alongside Neha Bora.
20:58I have with me Dr. Rajay Alok, spokesperson, Bharatiya Janata Party.
21:02Rohit Patel, West Zone Coordinator, CJP spokesperson, Rahul Singh Kalija, spokesperson, Congress.
21:07I would like to begin with Dr. Rajay Alok.
21:10Dr. Rajay Alok, there seems to be now a clear change or a shift in stand where the government is
21:16concerned.
21:16And why I say that, sir, it stems from the fact, if you hark back to what happened in Jantar
21:21Mantar in July,
21:22where the government came out and said,
21:24we need to make them understand.
21:26And you shift to what happened on the 10th of October,
21:29where a clampdown by the paramilitary forces turned into a massive crackdown with allegations of Delhi becoming a police state
21:38over the weekend.
21:39What's changed?
21:47See, nothing has changed much.
21:50When the agitation was for a cause which was concerning almost every Indian that was paper leak.
21:55Yes, the government was very sympathetic to the cause and government did listen and government did some changes
22:01and exceeded a lot to a lot of things.
22:03There is no doubt about it because this concerned the whole India.
22:06Now, when the protest, in the name of protest, you are trying to spread the anarchy
22:13and you are changing gold flows according to your political whims and fancy,
22:17then this is not a weak government.
22:19Now, here you say very clearly in your opening statements that now when the Congress, Rahul Gandhi ji,
22:25he just said that any peaceful protest cannot be entertained with the arrest.
22:31Well, Mr. Samvidhan ke prakshak, all these illegal protectors of constitution,
22:37yeh Nadaish Samvidhan ke rakhwal hain.
22:39When a site has been prohibited, which has been done in the past by your grandmother, by your father.
22:47In 1972, the Lal Kila was prohibited from protest.
22:50In 1988, Boat Kila was prohibited from protest.
22:53And today when Jantar Mantar is being prohibited from protest, you are trying to create anarchy and go and raise
22:58the flag.
22:59What flag?
23:00This is nothing else.
23:01You are trying to create anarchy.
23:03And by giving support to CJP whom you used to criticize just two and a half months back
23:07and CJP used to give you in equal terms back.
23:09Now you are lending support and he is saying thank you.
23:12Well, I am not surprised.
23:13Because you know what?
23:14Adaptive siblings can have the same blood group and if needed, a transfusion can go into each other.
23:20That's what is happening.
23:21Because these adaptive siblings come from the foreign sources.
23:24All the funding they are receiving from the foreign sources to do all this, promote all this kind of anarchic
23:28activities.
23:29Nothing else.
23:30What is this?
23:32Nauratra is going on.
23:33Everybody is in a festive mode day after tomorrow happens to be a Saturday.
23:36The whole current place will be bustling with the tourists and the local deniers and will be out there for
23:40shopping
23:41and you guys are taking out a procession to raise a flag in Central Park.
23:45There is already a flag in the Central Park.
23:47Have you become blind or something?
23:49No.
23:50Political blindness.
23:51What is driving you?
23:52So go and try out all your luck.
23:54We will see what happens the day after tomorrow.
23:56Alright.
23:57It's just a Friday instead of a Saturday.
24:00So I just want to bring in Aishi Ghosh.
24:03Aishi Ghosh, where does the SFI stand on this?
24:06Will we also see SFI jointly come out in protest on the 16th like it has earlier?
24:13Yes, of course.
24:14We are all united in the cause.
24:18And what has happened today and yesterday?
24:21What has unfolded?
24:22And from the last few days in the national capital is unacceptable.
24:27The spokesperson here was almost kind of, I feel, the remarks that he made at the end, that let's see,
24:33they want to try our luck.
24:35I just want to say that it's not a crime to have a Tiranga Yatra, right?
24:41It is this same government who has told that Harghar Tiranga.
24:44So what if on a Friday evening we decide to march with our Tiranga?
24:49What problem does the government have if we want to march with the Tiranga inside this country?
24:54Are citizens prohibited from marching with the Tiranga?
24:57Even if there is one Tiranga hoisted in its corner place, what is the problem if citizens want to take
25:03Tiranga in their hands and march?
25:04Is it an anti-national activity that the government is trying to say?
25:08And second of all, when he's trying to say that it's an offence, that it was a prohibited area and
25:15hence what Ashutosh, Saurav and other people did, he should also be telling that it's not that we have tried
25:25to create any anarchy and chaos.
25:26We have been asking the officials that Janatar Mantar, before this, before this notice came, it was a designated site
25:34of protest.
25:35We have been giving intimation, asking that that protest place should be given so that we can collectively protest.
25:40Why was that not given?
25:41Because this government clearly fears that people will come out.
25:45What happened on 10th? I was there on the ground on 10th.
25:48We all know what happened on 10th.
25:50There were thousands of people who were even detained from other states nearby beforehand.
25:56Why does this government fear?
25:58It just shows how weak this government is.
26:00Because a strong government does not fear its citizens.
26:03A weak government's sign is it fears its own citizens speaking up.
26:08And what is criminal offence?
26:10I want to know.
26:11Saurav, Ashutosh or any of us, jumping into the barricades of Janatar Mantar is a criminal offence inside this country
26:18and waving the flag?
26:19Leave the flag.
26:20Even if they would have jumped without a flag, we would have still defended it.
26:24What is criminal offence?
26:26Were they going to jump and kill someone there?
26:28No.
26:28Absolutely not.
26:29They had only their team members.
26:31What were they supposed to do in that empty place?
26:34Okay.
26:34So this clearly shows how lost this government and their spokespersons are.
26:38And one last thing before I end, I just want to say something.
26:43He just said that need paper leak was an issue of the entire country.
26:47For us, vote chodi is also an issue of the entire country for each and every citizen.
26:52Let the government be not mistaken that the young people will only be speaking about education issues.
26:59And on the matters of democracy and on the matters of citizenship, we will be remaining silent.
27:03Okay.
27:03Aishi, you know, I'm going to go back before I go back to the other, you know, spokespersons.
27:10But I just want to go back to Dr. Ajay Alok.
27:12Because Ajay Alok, it does seem that it's you against three student leaders today.
27:17That could be from the SFI Congress and the CJP.
27:22But, you know, Aishi has made a spirited defense.
27:25What is it that you'd want to say before I cut across to the other two?
27:32No, no, actually I'm enjoying my young friends.
27:34But with a different mindset and a different ideology.
27:37I really like young people giving their opinion and coming out so fiercely.
27:41But one thing they must realize that what is the ground reality?
27:45My dear sister, she belongs to SFI.
27:47She's representing and she is the joint secretary.
27:49I hope all the best for her in the future.
27:52But the point is that your main political party is becoming extinct species in a political spectrum.
27:59You don't have any herds or mega herds attached to it.
28:02No state, no standing, no people ovation.
28:05The policy, the thinking towards communism has gone zero.
28:08In none of the universities you are active.
28:10You are just contesting to mark your presence.
28:12And what you are doing right now is you are promoting anarchy.
28:15Like what has been done in the communist countries.
28:17So what is the point of carrying outside ideology which does not resonate with the people.
28:22This is the fact you have to go and study what happened to Marx, what happened to Lenin.
28:26And where you are now.
28:28So your ideology is basically a different ideology.
28:32The ideology should be one which should be helping the common people.
28:35We should be taking the country forward.
28:37Okay, Dr. Alok, let me go now to the CJP spokesperson and I'll come back to you.
28:42Because like I said, it's Dr. Ajay Alok versus three young student leaders from various sections who clearly are converging
28:51on thought.
28:51So Rohit Patel, I want to ask you one question.
28:54Rohit Patel is the CJP spokesperson.
28:55I want to ask you and the West Zone coordinator.
29:00Will the Cockroach Janata Party this time ask for support from political parties like the Congress, the NSUI, the student
29:08wing?
29:09The last time around you hadn't done so.
29:11Because you made it very clear you are a political pressure group.
29:14Will you ask for support this time in protest?
29:17Thank you, Preeti, for having me here.
29:19And I'm also honored to be among the leaders and also our ideology class from Ajay sir.
29:24And so what I'm saying is, as Dipkes already has said that we all are together in this cause.
29:31We are an independent political pressure group.
29:34And we stand together with all the parties who is fighting against Kanesh Kumar.
29:39And we should focus not more on ideology, but more important than what is the issue here.
29:43Chief election commission's integrity is compromised.
29:48Basic structure is compromised.
29:49Democracy is a part of basic structure.
29:51We are fighting to save that.
29:54And our learned co-panelist here is giving us lessons on what should be the ideology of different sections.
30:01And how can just unfunding a Tiranga in country can be a crime?
30:07And I will tell you there are other crimes that this government, which is called themselves a legitimate government, they
30:12are doing.
30:12Right. There are different laws for goons.
30:14You saw goons were permitted to do anything what they did on 10th.
30:19And the people who are protesting, they were expressing their speech and expression.
30:23They were beaten. Right.
30:26I'm speaking from a month. I'm speaking from this.
30:28I was detained illegally. My article 22 was violated.
30:31No grounds were told to me why I am getting detained.
30:34And this is happening across the country.
30:36I wanted to go to join, to have a hospital treatment in Bhopal in Ames.
30:41And the police person, they took me, I was in a suspect situation, and they took me and they said
30:48that you cannot go there in the hospital.
30:52And they violated all my rights. And 163 was not even, you know, in place in here.
30:58So are we living in emergency? If we are living in emergency, then we should just declare it.
31:02I've heard about it, right? Somebody said that the first emergency that we had in 1975, the mistake by the
31:09Prime Minister was that they declared it.
31:10I think Mr. Prime Minister has learned from that mistake and he is not declaring it. But we are under
31:15emergency.
31:16And everybody right now, everybody right now is fighting to save the democracy. The flex doesn't matter. We all are
31:23together in this fight.
31:25All right. Okay. You know, I'm going to go to Rahul, but I'm going to go back right now to
31:28Dr. Rajay Alok to maybe.
31:30Yes, Dr. Alok, I'm coming to you and then I'll cut across to Rahul from the Congress.
31:34But the question, which has been raised by the CJP, that you arrest people for five days on grounds of
31:41just skipping one barricade and unfurling the Tiranga,
31:45while what took place over the course of the 10th and 11th October in CP, where certain groups affiliated with
31:53the right wing was seen beating up protesters, no action taken there.
32:03Well, if that is the case, Delhi police has already said that it was investigating into the matter.
32:08They have taken the complaint and it normally takes, after verifying the complaint, it takes 24 hours to lodge an
32:13FIR.
32:13The law will take its own course. As it is, NSUI has already said that if the FIR is not
32:18registered, we'll move to the court.
32:20Any lawful action which is to be taken by the police is always justified. If anything, such things have happened,
32:26has been done, action must be taken.
32:29But for my CJP friend, again, young mind coming with so much fresh ideas and calling of emergency and article
32:35so and so and so.
32:36It's so good to see that young people are so well-read these days. We were never like this when
32:40I was 21, 22.
32:41I was just a medical student, not knowing all these articles. But kudos to you all.
32:45Well, my dear friend, you were blown and brought up in this system only. Your parents were with this system
32:51only, with this election commission only.
32:53But where this idea was Cockroach Janta Party arose. Where it was born? It was born in Boston.
32:59It was born in Boston and in the next 14 days, 2 million followed and people like you followed this
33:04idea.
33:05Are you slave of the idea or this is your idea? All those who are supporting CJP must tell me.
33:09Are they slave of this idea or it's their idea? A person sitting in Boston and he floats Cockroach Janta
33:14Party. An insult to our democracy.
33:17Insult. Because Cockroach was used by CGI. For filing false litigations in the court.
33:23Okay.
33:23For filing false litigation in the court.
33:26Dr. Alok, I'm going to get in. I'm going to because you…
33:27All these people are behaving like cockroaches.
33:29Alright. Okay, Dr. Alok.
33:31I'll come to you. I'll come to all three of you. I want to go to the Congress spokesperson. But
33:39right before that, there's news break coming in from the Congress and we'll take it to the Congress spokesperson.
33:43A clear storm over denotification of Jantar Mantar.
33:48IYC Indian Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib has filed a plea in the Delhi High Court challenging the Delhi
33:53police decision of denotifying Jantar Mantar as the designated protest site.
33:59Petitions have also been filed before the Supreme Court challenging the denotification.
34:03Matter now to be mentioned for urgent hearing tomorrow.
34:07So that's the news coming in and I want to take it right now to our spokesperson of the Congress.
34:13Let's bring him in.
34:15And before that, let's cut across to Anisha who's breaking this news. Anisha, very quickly encapsulate the news for us.
34:22Well, both petitions have raised the concerns of denotification of Jantar Mantar.
34:27Three points effectively have been raised. One, that the Jantar Mantar and the Boat Club had been identified at protest
34:35sites decades ago in 2018.
34:37In fact, the Supreme Court had noted that removing them as protest sites would go.
34:42Now, there's more news coming in and there's news that I'm breaking as I speak. Rahul Gandhi is going to
34:47go to India Gate right now, I believe.
34:49Rahul Singh, this flash protest that your party is doing right now, is Rahul Gandhi now apparently marching to India
34:59Gate, Rahul Singh?
35:02Rahul Singh, am I audible?
35:05Yeah, you're audible. Go ahead, sir.
35:08Yes, Preeti, the issue of Jantar Mantar that the Indian Youth Congress has raised, we have been talking about it
35:15today.
35:15They might have denotified Jantar Mantar, but we are going to reclaim it because today Jaipur, Jabalpur, Jalandhar, Jammui, every
35:23city has become Jantar Mantar.
35:25And we are not going to let this government, let the fascists take away what is rightfully ours.
35:30Right to protest is ours and we will not let them designate a place which is so far from the
35:36city that they can shut the entire media, shut the entire visuals and eyeballs of the country from what students,
35:44what young people and what protesters talk about.
35:47You know, what they have also done is they have made it virtually impossible for people without money to protest
35:53because to book Ramlila Maidan you need approximately 1.5 lakh rupees a day.
35:58I mean, how are the daily wage labor unions or the auto unions or the young student unions going to
36:06book these grounds?
36:07And these grounds are also usually booked throughout the year for several other programs.
36:13So, this is one thing.
36:14Second thing, you talked about Rahul Gandhiji's march towards India Gate.
36:18We will keep on raising these issues because yesterday my fellow NSOI members were beaten up by Delhi police.
36:24Today, similar incidents again happened.
36:26Delhi police misbehaved with the national president of Indian Youth Congress and we are not going to bear with such
36:32behavior.
36:32We are not going to take these incidents lightly.
36:36Today, young lawyers, reporters, everyday people are getting beaten up, getting assaulted by Delhi police.
36:42And this is happening on one person's order.
36:44That is Amit Shah.
36:46And our leader has unequivocally said that we are against any and all sorts of incidents which are done against
36:53common everyday people.
36:55Any incident of violence will not be taken lightly and we will take action on that.
37:02Secondly, my fellow spokesperson from the Bharata Janata Party talked about whether or not we are going to support the
37:07CJP.
37:08CJP is a pressure group as they claim.
37:10And on this issue, I think both CJP and the Indian National Congress are in resonance.
37:16If we are in resonance, we are going to support the issue, not any organization.
37:20We are with the issue of vote chauri.
37:22CJP is also with the issue of vote chauri.
37:24Are we going to stand with any young person who is getting arrested for unfolding?
37:28Rahul, will you be protesting alongside the Indian Youth Congress and the NSUI on the 16th?
37:37Preeti, let me tell you something.
37:39So, my phone lock is the Tiranga.
37:42If I go on CP and unlock my phone, will that be illegal?
37:46If yes, then I will be doing that.
37:48We need not to stand with the CJP with our flag and our banner.
37:52We are with the spirit.
37:54We will be unfolding the Tiranga not just on the 16th but every day.
37:58All right.
37:59So, you've left it awake because I think your party still needs to make a call on whether your youth
38:04wing is going to go in and join in the protest.
38:07Final comments and I will come for the final comment to Dr. Rajay Alok.
38:10I just want to bring in.
38:11Ayesha, you want to quickly come in?
38:13Because Dr. Rajay Alok did ask you a few questions where ideology and especially electoral outcome of that ideology is
38:20concerned.
38:22So, glad that the BJP spokesperson is talking about foreign things, ideas, and not able to talk about what is
38:29happening going on inside this country today.
38:31We see a situation like emergency at this moment.
38:34This is the same BJP which has been continuously quoting about the situations of emergency, what happened in 1975, how
38:42were people picked up from classrooms, how were people picked up from their homes,
38:46but are not able to speak up and justify in defense that why are young people being picked up from
38:52their homes because they gave a call.
38:54And this has not only happened on the 2nd.
38:57We can't forget what happened on the 20th of July when the spokesperson of BJP saying that was apparently acceptable
39:06for them because it was a national issue.
39:08But why were students beaten up so badly on the 20th of July because I was again on the streets
39:12on that day.
39:14Pellet guns were there.
39:16What was happening on that day?
39:18Did the Home Minister forget what he did on the 20th of July?
39:20So, I don't want to go into this unnecessary debate that who is extinct, what is happening.
39:25I just want to say one thing.
39:27Why is the BJP scared of the left so much?
39:30You can talk about unnecessary things like what is happening electorally and all.
39:34But the fact that I'm here, the fact that my organization is there on the streets every day, taking up
39:40student issues, the fact that Neha is there also coming from the left organization, speaking up on the issues and
39:46resonating with the students and the Gen Z's shows that what you are fearing about because we are resonating with
39:51the students.
39:52Okay.
39:52And students are accepting what we are talking about.
39:54Can I get the CJP spokesperson?
39:56So, I just want to end, Preeti, by saying that better you focus on issues that's affecting the citizens of
40:03this country because I think the BJP has lost this plot totally in the last few years.
40:09Can I get in the CJP spokesperson because, you know, we had Dr. Alok who also told you that do
40:15you actually resonate with the ideology or ideology that emanated from Boston?
40:22So, you know that CJP started from the comment from Chief Justice of India, Surikand, right?
40:27And it was not Deepke who called cockroach.
40:29And it was the angst that people were carrying for the last 12 years because whenever somebody spoke something against
40:34a government which is a fundamental right of expression, they will call the maintain an excel, urban excel, the margin
40:38excel, and whatnot.
40:39So, we just became a medium of the angst that people were carrying, right?
40:43If it is so easy to create a party like that, why don't BJP create a next CJP 2.0
40:48from like California or somewhere else, right?
40:50It's not that easy.
40:51First thing.
40:52Second thing, the government was not sympathetic to the gentleman 1.0.
40:56We all, we remember how educationist like Sonom Wangchuk, sir, was lifted like a criminal, right?
41:01I said told just on 20th July what happened.
41:04So, this government was never sympathetic to the protesters.
41:06Don't, you know, wear that mask that we are sympathetic to the protesters.
41:09You are never, sir.
41:10Okay.
41:11And to conclude what I say, I would like to quote Mahatma Ganiji who just said that if a law
41:16feels unjust, it is a duty to violate it.
41:19And we will violate it with, we will do not follow the law that you cannot.
41:23Okay.
41:24And we are ready to face the consequences.
41:27If you want to put us in jail, put us, we are not afraid.
41:30All right.
41:30Rahul, quickly come in.
41:31Final comments before I go to Dr. Rajay Alok for closing.
41:34Priti, if the fact that CJP was raised from Boston makes them any less nationalist, then I think BJP is
41:42the most anti-national party.
41:43It is the same party which was raised by donations from Jinna's family, the man who divided India into two
41:48parts.
41:48I mean, it's quite ironic even by BJP standards.
41:52Secondly, unequivocally, Priti, we stand with every and any individual who is in support of the Vod Chori Andolan, who
42:00is in support with the spirit of India.
42:02Will you go to CP on the 16th or not?
42:06100% you will see me at the Central Park with Aishi and with the other members.
42:09Okay, so you are going.
42:11Okay, so at least they've all, yeah, because you didn't quite address the question the last time around.
42:16So, Aishi…
42:18100%, you will see me with Aishi, you will see me with other people there.
42:22Aishi, okay.
42:23Aishi and Rohit, you'll be there.
42:25We have been on the streets, Priti every day. Rahul and I have been meeting, I think, so every day
42:30on protest in different parts of the city because we are not allowed to gather up.
42:33You know, I want to go to Dr. Rajay Alok, who's very patiently heard all three of you out and
42:37also has given his point of view.
42:39So, in that sense, I think this has been a very, very constructive debate.
42:42He might have different views, but Dr. Rajay Alok, thank you for being this patient and hearing each of the
42:48three panelists in.
42:49Final comment, sir.
42:51No, I enjoyed listening to all the three young minds, sir.
42:54No, I enjoyed listening to all the three young minds.
42:56And I wish that your show must be viewed by at least millions, hundreds of millions of youth.
43:03And it should be viewed so that they can understand that how young mind can absorb negative things so easily.
43:10And how important it is to get rid of this negativity, what is currently getting there into head.
43:16And just go through the essence of a democracy.
43:20A democracy always means electorally how much significant you are.
43:24Democracy doesn't mean coming out on road and spreading anarchy.
43:27You have to be democratic, then play democratic, be democratic, act democratic.
43:32We can't end on it.
43:32Right, you cannot be like a congress that you impose emergency and then you talk democracy, saving democracy.
43:38We can give an answer to that.
43:38Right, you impose secularism in the constitution, putting all the opposition inside the jail and then you say, say we
43:45are saving democracy.
43:46You cannot be democratic when you allow 370 to continue for 70 long years, not taking Kashmir as an integral
43:53part.
43:54And then you claim you are democratic and you are saving democracy.
43:56How hypocritical.
43:57Please.
43:58Thank you very much.
43:59You are having discussion with you all.
44:01Thank you, Dr. Alok.
44:02And thank you all three of you.
44:04I know all three of you wanted the last one, but then it was three against one.
44:07We had to keep going back to Dr. Alok to have a fair debate.
44:12And we really did have a fair debate.
44:14I'm very, very glad.
44:14Thank you all three of you for joining us.
44:16Let's see what the 16th of October brings.
44:19Meanwhile, there's news break coming in right now.
44:21Rahul Gandhi is headed to India Gate.
44:23Now to meet Ankita Bhandari's family.
44:25All right.
44:25So that's the latest news break that is coming in.
44:27The leader of opposition is headed to India Gate.
44:30Will he be allowed to go there?
44:31That's another question.
44:32Ankita Bhandari, to jog our viewers memory, was killed in 2022 in Uttarakhand resort.
44:37And ever since has become a political flashpoint of sorts.
44:41The death of Ankita Bhandari.
44:43Her parents have been protesting ever since.
44:46And they are on Binandharna, not just in Uttarakhand,
44:50but have tried to bring their fight to Delhi as well.
44:53What you cannot miss, viewers, in midst of all of this is
44:55that there is an election in Uttarakhand coming.
45:04You're going to go back to your emergency room.
45:06It isn't the first time to all the people who meet,
45:07my parents are living with me.
45:08I'm coming.
45:15You're going to go back free.
45:17My parents have no trick, he's leaving.
45:20My parents have no trick, he's leaving.
45:21Hey, my parents have no trick.
45:22I've never left me.
45:22My parents will take my back.
45:24I have no trick.
45:25My parents have taken the back of it.
45:25I took a mistake.
45:25Let's not take this before.
45:26I have to take the information to make it.
45:46All right, so that's the latest that we are getting in right now.
45:50Ankita Bhandari's family is at India Gate, is what we've been told.
45:53And Rahul Gandhi now from Sunheri Bagh, where he resides not very far off from India Gate,
45:59is going to India Gate to meet the family of Ankita Bhandari.
46:03Let's get in Rahul Gautam. Rahul, what more can you add to this?
46:09Preeti, is that question to me? This is Moshmi.
46:12Okay, Moshmi, sorry, sorry, sorry, Moshmi.
46:13Because it's a live situation, we have multiple reporters patched.
46:17Go ahead, Moshmi.
46:17Of course.
46:18Go ahead.
46:18Of course. So, this is not the first time, you know, Rahul Gandhi had already met the parents of Ankita
46:25Bhandari
46:25about a month back.
46:28And this time round, they have sat in protest at India Gate.
46:34They have been demanding justice for their daughter.
46:37And Rahul Gandhi had also raised this issue on his social media posts about how they were, like, going from
46:46every pillar to post,
46:48demanding for something which was absolutely legitimate.
46:51And I'm told that he's supposed to reach India Gate anytime now.
46:58Remember, this is the kind of hands-on, you know, politics and approach that we've seen unfolding as far as
47:07Rahul Gandhi is concerned for the past one or two months.
47:10And Ankita Bhandari case has been a very, very burning issue in terms of the state of Uttarakhand and also
47:19as far as, you know, the parents getting justice for their daughter is concerned.
47:24And Rahul Gandhi, now, we are told,
47:27Really can't also deny that there's an election in order in the state of Uttarakhand?
47:33Oh, absolutely, Preethi.
47:35You know, that is always there because remember that whether it was the Shuddhi Karan Rao or whether it was
47:44meeting the parents of Ankita Bhandari,
47:47it's all transpired within the past three, four months.
47:50And with the upcoming assembly elections in Uttarakhand, there is a lot at stake for the Congress party that did
47:58not return to power last time.
48:02So, I do believe that, you know, as far as women's safety issues concerned,
48:08that BJP has been playing on the front foot in the past two, three days,
48:13calling out the Congress MP from JNU, the professor, who was suspended on those allegations.
48:21Women's safety is a huge issue.
48:23And needless to say that we will have to wait and see whether Rahul Gandhi is only going to meet
48:27or is he going to escalate it even further.
48:30Will he be allowed to meet?
48:32There's also a question there.
48:34He's left.
48:34We're going to try and get you the visuals.
48:36Thank you, Moshmi, for joining us.
