00:41In a statement on Instagram, Laneway says taking a pause
00:44allows it to focus on making the festival the best it can be.

00:52Adelaide's Harvest Rock also announcing it would take a break in 2026.
00:56Music SA says it doesn't support major festivals being propped up by the government,
01:00but says it is supportive of conversations, funding or policies
01:04that could help the live music industry get the shot in the arm it really needs.
01:08What we've been able to display is that our major events have contributed significantly
01:14to putting South Australia on the map.
01:16Meanwhile, the music industry is hoping those behind the exodus of festivals
01:20might soon change their tune.
