The biggest Christmas parade in the southern hemisphere has kicked off this morning, spreading festive cheer through Adelaide’s city streets.

00:00Thousands of families have lined the streets here in the city with many camping out for
00:07hours to secure front row seats.
00:12The sun is out shining as the crowd awaits the arrival of Father Christmas.
00:17According to organisers about 300,000 people usually line the streets each year with 170
00:25different floats and performances on display for the pageant's 93rd year and people have
00:31come from far and wide to enjoy the day.
00:34I'm excited about seeing all of the floats come around because they all look cool and
00:38cool.
00:39All the atmosphere and all the joy and all that, yeah.
00:45I'm most looking forward to seeing my mum because she's in the pageant this year.
