It's the busiest weekend on the Mad March calendar and Adelaide's perfect weather has led to record crowds across the city's Adelaide Fringe events. Festival-goers have also been turning out in droves at WOMADelaide despite travel chaos from the war in the Middle East leading to some last-minute changes.

00:17We did have that sense, it was a little bit like 2020 when COVID was approaching.
00:21Five acts had to pull out from this year's line-up,
00:24with WOMAD quickly re-booking flights.
00:27I suppose $150,000 of extra cost, but having the festival go ahead,

00:37The festival says it recorded its biggest attendance on Saturday night since 2023.

00:53Yesterday was our biggest day ever in terms of ticket sales and numbers of people.
00:58While the full impact of the sales slump is still unclear,
01:02the huge crowd numbers are feeding optimism.
01:05Really good, the rides and stuff and the people around are really good, yeah.
01:10You can obviously tell the amount of crowds that are around, so yeah, it's fantastic.
