00:01One of Alan Jones's six alleged male victims has been given evidence for the past six days
00:07of this trial since it started last week against the veteran broadcaster and this person is
00:14referred to as Complainer J. Now Complainer J says they were allegedly indecently assaulted
00:20by Alan Jones on multiple occasions when they were a teenage athlete. They say those alleged
00:26assaults took place at Mr Jones's properties in Circular Quay and also in Fitzroy Falls. He says
00:32he was also gifted multiple items and even payments, weekly payments from Mr Jones over the time that he
00:38knew him. Those gifts included a car and a mobile phone. Today we heard from the brother of Complainer
00:44J who he says confided in him when they had a conversation at a McDonald's after he had made
00:51his allegations to police. Now Complainer J, the trial was heard, came forward with his story to
00:56police shortly after Mr Jones was arrested in November 2024 and he allegedly had a conversation
01:04with his brother and the brother says that that's the first time he revealed to him that
01:08that Alan Jones had allegedly sexually touched him. He described some of the incidents not in great
01:14detail apparently in this conversation that he had had but he had told him that police were going to be
01:19in contact with him to ask for a statement. He said that it was the hardest thing he would ever
01:23have
01:24to tell his brother that he alleges that he was kissed by Mr Jones, that he was touched on his
01:31genitals
01:31and that he was given hugs and that those hugs would get progressively longer as well and he says
01:37that's the conversation that took place, not in great detail but a conversation nonetheless that took
01:42place at that McDonald's as well and the brother was then cross-examined by Mr Jones's defence team
01:48and the defence put to him that it didn't align with the evidence that was given by Complainer J,
01:53the details of that conversation that took place. Complainer J initially told the trial in his
01:58evidence-in-chief that he had a brief conversation with his brother saying he was coming forward with
02:03the allegations against Alan Jones and that he couldn't really tell him more because police were
02:07going to be in contact. So the defence team trying to pick some holes there and some contradictions
02:11between the evidence that was given between the brother and the complainant.
02:16And where does the trial go from here? Yeah, just before trial wrapped up for today, the hearing
02:21wrapped up for today, we started to hear evidence from Complainer J's ex-girlfriend and she is another
02:27person that says that Complainer J confided in her about these allegations but she says that the time
02:35they had that conversation where he supposedly came forward and said that Alan Jones had been touching
02:41him inappropriately was in the early 2000s when they were still in a relationship and when Complainer J
02:47still had a pretty strong relationship with Mr Jones at the time. She says that immediately following
02:53his trip between Mr Jones and Complainer J to his property in Fitzroy Falls, he came back to his then
02:59partner's place and had a conversation where he came forward with these allegations but then said that
03:07he didn't want her to tell anyone about this or repeat anything about this. She described him as
03:12looking like he had just seen a ghost and that he wasn't himself when he came forward in that
03:16situation and that's something that she recounted in her evidence as well. And the defence is also
03:23trying to challenge her on whether or not she had a discussion with Complainer J in the many years
03:29later before he came forward to police about whether or not um he had uh or her had reminded each
03:35other
03:35about that conversation took him uh taking place uh but that that uh ex-girlfriend is still uh under oath
03:41and is still giving evidence to this trial at the moment Jo.
