00:02Arriving at court to defend himself against allegations from the third assault complainant,
00:08a high-profile athlete is alleging Alan Jones kissed him twice without his consent
00:13during their lengthy friendship.
00:15M told the court yesterday Mr Jones' regular compliments made him uncomfortable,
00:20the broadcaster's barrister putting to him today that it was the truth.
00:24You were an extraordinary athlete, weren't you? Thank you.
00:27You were something special, weren't you? I believe I still am.
00:32Complainant M told the court an alleged kiss in 2015 was on the corner of his lips,
00:37but the defence says his police statements only say it was close to his mouth.
00:42You didn't refer to being kissed on the corner of your mouth in any of your five statements.
00:47I don't believe I did.
00:49M says after the second alleged kiss in 2020, he hesitated to respond to Mr Jones' texts,
00:55but agreed he sent Mr Jones Christmas well-wishes that year.
00:59I was being polite.
01:01I made reference yesterday to the challenges of the relationship between myself and the defendant,
01:06someone that has a presence in the media,
01:09someone also who's been generous to me at times in my life.
01:12The defence argued M accepted Mr Jones' generosity and support.
01:17He was someone you could go to in times of trouble in your life,
01:20in certain areas.
01:22And you did go to him.
01:23I did.
01:24The defence position is that there are inconsistencies between M's police statement
01:29and what he said in court, and that the alleged kisses never happened.
01:33But M is insistent that they did.
01:35He'll continue giving evidence on Thursday.
