00:08So there's the four who will compete for the fastest lap. We just had a chance to watch the SX2.
00:12Now it's SX1 time, a lot more power, but they're struggling with it too.
00:17These guys ride at C-level most of the time. They get fine-tuned and dialed in around this certain
00:22power band.
00:22They come up here, everything changes, and it's how quickly you can adapt.
00:26And we're looking at some of the most experienced riders in all of Supercross right now.
00:31They also have to run a spec fuel as well. So being round one, these guys have a lot to
00:37figure out.
00:39Cooper Webb is coming up first. Let's go to Christian Beat before he takes off.
00:46A bit of a delay in Max Manstey making his way to the backdrop for his interview.
00:51That's because he stopped to talk with the Super Bowl contenders in the SX1 Classic.
00:55He was giving them advice on the whoops section. He told them the line that was working for him.
01:00He said the whoops are just getting so chewed up, there's only one space you can go and really hit
01:04the whoops with full speed.
01:05He told the SX1 riders where that's at.
01:07See what Cooper Webb does with that information.
01:10Jace, we saw him hopping the whoops. We saw him sprinting the whoops.
01:13We've done a little bit of both.
01:14My take is that hammering the whoops is definitely the speed move,
01:18but he typically goes to the jumping line when he needs to put together a race
01:22because of the other variables like lappers and mistakes.
01:25So I don't know if it's going to pay the bills right now, but he might fall back on that
01:29later.
01:30Yeah, and you can see him taking a very, very good look at this racetrack.
01:35Cooper Webb is going to set the benchmark for us here in the SX1 Super Bowl.
01:40Nice little wheelie over right there, right to the edge of the track.
01:44We'll go 3-3 out of the rhythm section, setting the standard in SX1 for Super Bowl.
01:51So watch that clock. We're at 16 seconds in.
01:53As Jace said, the first and the fourth segment are really quick and tight.
01:57It's these middle ones that are longer.

02:48Dean Wilson got the call. A well-traveled and successful man.
02:52I think he'll be able to hold the fort down for the Quadlock team.
02:55Yeah, and I love that there's just no way that you can not show up to this championship without four

03:01It just plays out of—it gives us such a dynamic championship, and, I mean, what better guy to bring in
03:07to that kind of role than Dean Wilson?
03:10That's like having your secondary quarterback be an absolute star.
03:15Think about Quadlock, too, and just the range of their roster and where they send these guys.
03:19Dean's ridden for this team, so it's not like you're bringing in someone that you don't know to hopefully do

03:25He is a Quadlock guy, so it's just he hasn't raced in this series.
03:28He's been over in the Australian Supercross Series, so the relationship is already there as he gets underway.
03:33Going to be really interested to see what these guys do in comparison to Justin Hill's qualifying time to get
03:40these guys into this race.
03:41Not as fast through that small sector one, but remember, it is only a small sector.
03:47Well, Dean was lighting up the last Super Bowl that he was in until a mistake, redemption for Dean on

04:43He didn't want to take it, because Colt Thompson is definitely the Canadian hero for the fans here in Calgary.

04:52He was so good last year in his first year back on that Honda.
04:54Yeah, and if there's anyone that can smash a trap for one lab that has a huge whoop section in
05:01it, it's Christian Craig.
05:02You talk about finesse.
05:03You talk about timing.
05:04You talk about technique.
05:05Christian Craig is the master at all of those things.
05:10Behind in Segment 1 for Webb.
05:13Must have been really clean to that segment.
05:15It looked like it didn't make any mistakes there.
05:17I don't think his rear wheel left the ground over that first-term roll.
05:21He's just got so much traction out there.
05:23But here's the strength to Christian Craig right now.
05:25This is where Wilson made up his time.
05:27Now he gets a little bit of a kick, not as fast as Wilson.
05:31Will we see green or will we see purple?
05:33A little mistake right there, too.
05:34We've had too many kickouts on this lap.
05:36Yet we're going to be a little bit behind here.
05:38So unless he pulls off a miracle berm, which I don't think he does,
05:43Craig's going to have a decent time, but not as fast as Dean Wilson.
05:46This puts in P3 right now.
05:48So it goes Wilson, Webb, Craig with the speedster.

05:54Oh, and I'm just so interested on this lap.
05:56I mean, this guy kind of lives for moments like this.
05:58If you watch any video online, you can see that Justin Hill is one of the most talented dirt bike
06:04riders
06:05on planet Earth, motocross, supercross, freeride.
06:10But when the lights are bright, this guy can't get it done over one lap.
06:14When I was in the fan zone talking to the crowd, one of the first questions from the fans is,
06:18is there any big fours, any big quads out there that Justin Hill can find?
06:22Because they know he's looking.
06:23And here we go.
06:24He was your fastest in qualifying.
06:26Can he piece it together on one single lap?
06:29Dean Wilson has set the standard.
