00:42Brody Connolly in the top five. It looks like Jack Chambers and Luke Fowser, an amateur KTM
00:49rider who was just turning professional, gets the call from the 595 racing team. He was
00:54scheduled to race Loretta Linz, and now he's up front in a World Supercross main event.
00:57Jumping straight into the deep end. Mad respect. But it is the same story as Moto1. Sue out
01:04front, Hicks in second. This first run through the whoops is going to tell the story.
01:09How about Connolly, though? This is a great start for him. He's the quadlock rider. Not
01:15a lot of Supercross experience when it comes to his racing, but a lot of talent. Look at
01:18Anstey getting physical right away. He knows who's out front and who's getting away.
01:22Man, this opening lap for Anstey is actually incredible. He was buried in the pack. If
01:26you can see where Simonson is, they were together. Max has had a dream run on these
01:31opening laps. And you're right about Connolly. He's probably a name that not a lot of guys
01:36have heard. But in the limited Supercross races that he has done, he has been fierce.
01:42Not scared to backpast. Another talented Kiwi that we have on the world stage.
01:47Jack Chambers, too. Nice start to this race. Sitting in fifth right now. You see Fowser,
01:52six, McAdoo seventh, Simonson eighth. So two of the favorites in this championship having to dig
01:56through the field. You see Wageman coming up the inside there as well. I'm sorry, that's Ryan
02:00Brees on the number 200 machine up the inside on Simonson. No, but it's the two Starks running
02:08one, two. There's Anstey again. Three, one to the inside. Not close enough, but he is closing in.
02:12And I wonder what adjustments Sue has made in this second race. The start's obviously not a problem,
02:19but he did fall off the pace. So very interesting to see what he changed, if anything, and if he
02:24is
02:24going to be able to put up more of a fight. He has not dropped his teammate Hicks in these
02:28opening
02:29laps. And if you're Michael Hicks right now, if you can get to the lead and have some open track,
02:33you might be able to get away. He hung in there in that first race. Will he be aggressive with
02:38his
02:38teammate with a possible win sitting in front of him? He goes out to end with a little cut in,
02:43but Sue hangs in tough. This is awesome racing by these boys out front. Brodie Connelly just
02:50dropped a tiny bit off Max. He was right there at the end of that first rhythm section. Looks like
02:56the boys have this jump line dialed now. Max charging his way through the whoops. This three-one
03:02Oh, it's so fast. And you can get to the lead. How aggressive will he be early in this race?

03:22Team manager. And I asked him the question you were asking, Jace, which was what changes did they
03:26maybe make? After Brian Sue and Gina Race 1 dropped off the pace. He said he made no changes at
03:31all. It
03:31was his fitness. He wasn't feeling as confident on the track. They've now re-strategized and talked
03:36about line selection to improve Brian Sue's efficiency late in the race, guys.
03:40And for Max Anstey, now it is tightening up between Brian Sue, Michael Hicks, Max Anstey. Look at Brodie
03:47Connelly. What a ride in fourth as McAdoo and Simonson now running 570. Got Chambers in there as well.
03:54Here goes Anstey up the inside. 3-1. Hicks does it too, but out to the outside.
03:59He squares up and Anstey, you see him check up right there. That's so crafty, man.
04:04And I love what he's doing with that 3-1. You're getting so much momentum to hit that triple as
04:09you
04:09come into that turn. But then you can soak up that single coming in to that next turn,
04:14go up to the inside, and you can just control the corner. Max Anstey up to second place.
04:20The laps are counting down. Will he make a run at the leader? You know he'll try. Brian Sue
04:25looks a little bit better in this race than he did in race one. I love those twos right there.
04:30He's
04:30getting out of those flat corners. We'll see if he gets this one as well. Anstey going to the inside,
04:34going roll. Sue doing a completely different rhythm. And I love this track. It's got some
04:40options that way. I think it's going to play a role later in the night too, as it dries up
04:43just a
04:44little bit. And here comes Anstey, ripping the whoops. Wheels in. A little bit of a kick
04:52for Max Anstey, but you got Michael Hicks sitting in third, Kristen.
04:56Max, this is such an interesting dynamic, right? Because you want to focus on moving forward.
05:01You want to focus on Brian Sue. But when you have a rider like Michael Hicks behind you,
05:05you have to decide, am I racing forward? Am I racing defensively? Daniel, what is the right choice
05:09for this instance? I think that's a tough call, Jay. I mean, you're in a moment where you have a
05:14race
05:14opportunity, a win. You're tempted to always take the aggressive move, but at the same time,
05:19you've got to look big picture. So I don't know. Personally, as a racer, I usually made the wrong
05:24call in these situations. I'm not the best to ask. Hey, I'm even worse to ask than you. But I
05:29do think
05:29Max Anstey is in the best headspace of his career. He is so in control of this world championship.
05:36He is so in control of his own destiny, it feels like, when it comes to this series.
05:41He is the big name in this title fight. Another epic run through that works. Probably only a
05:46matter of time until he answers that question for us. Here comes Cameron McAdoo. He is closing
05:51in on Michael Hicks for the third position. You see Simonson has made his way to fifth.
05:57Brian Sue continuing to lead this race. Flawless little mistakes, but everyone's making them,
06:03Jayce. They're not big. They're not costing him time, but he is losing time right now. Max Anstey
06:08closes that gap little by little as the lap counter clicks down. Yeah, that's what I was just about
06:15to say. He is making a little mistake here and there, and he is losing a bit of time, but
06:19these
06:19laps are winding down. Max Anstey knows that this long, challenging group section is the ace that he
06:25has in his sleeve. Two different rhythms. Sue threes out.
06:31Anstey with a three double on the way out. Now, Anstey switches up. That's a different line for him
06:35as he blitzes by the right. Three one. What will Sue do here? Does he get aggressive? Anstey cuts over,
06:41takes the lead again. That was unbelievable from Max Anstey. I got to think that Brian Sue might have had
06:48something for him if he didn't make just a little bit of a mistake exiting that section. Max Anstey,
06:54final lap in control. Does Sue have anything for him on this last lap? Oh, he's going to go for
06:59it. A win
07:00is sitting right there, but here comes Higgs again, and Higgs might be sitting with a three three after
07:04these first two races, but for Max Anstey, the maturity, the veteran move to move over to a
07:11completely different line. When his whoop line was taken away, he sticks to the blitz. Three ones from
07:16out to in. What an awesome move for the defending champ to take the lead. And Sue isn't not safe
07:23there in
07:24second. No, here comes Higgs. Late in race one, he was making moves. Here we go. The two Stark
07:29Vargs battling it out for second as Anstey blitz right in between two different runs. Higgs goes three one
07:34from the outside. Gets in a second. Cameron McAdoo has not given up for a second through this race. Max
07:45Anstey wins again. Solid win to great race craft. Very patient, waited till he knew he could get it.
