00:0623-year-old Julia Brunsdon and 45-year-old Michael Wolke were found dead inside this Charleville home in the
00:13early hours of Thursday morning.
00:16Authorities were called to the scene after reports of an assault and the area put into lockdown.
00:21The threats were made around a firearm and it was at that point that police, quite rightly in my view,
00:27chose to tactically withdraw from that situation because I viewed the footage and I can tell you that they were
00:32in what I would consider as grave danger.
00:34Mr Wolke was known to police prior to his death. An 18-month-old girl was rescued during the incident
00:40and is now with child safety. She was found covered in blood but it was not her own.
00:46And that police officer took that distressed child and did what anybody who has young children or knows young children
00:52would do and just held that child close to his chest and turned himself away from the scene of danger.
00:58But you pray that poor little girl will be happy somewhere one day, eh?
01:04The couple bought the house in 2024. Their neighbours were still getting to know them.

01:22Forensic teams worked overnight and are expected to remain on site into the weekend, going over what has been described
01:29as a complex and confronting scene.
01:31The local mayor is warning the community not to speculate about the incident online.
