00:00Donnie, I have a cup of joy for you this morning.
00:02Tell me.
00:03I'm going to tell you about James Blair, who is a Navy vet who now works as a fuel mechanic
00:09for the John Wayne Airport in L.A.
00:12Okay.
00:13He's worked there since 2006, despite hardly being able to walk from a pair of deteriorated knees.
00:21Okay.
00:22Okay, so while Lucinda Thackeray, a woman was sitting on the plane and looking out her window, and she's watching
00:30James out on the tarmac, like struggling to walk around.
00:34So she took a video and posted it online and said, who is this man and how can we help
00:40him?
00:41And, of course, the video went viral and a GoFundMe was started.
00:44So having recently turned 64, James was not far from Social Security and, like, maybe, like, a military pension, but
00:56he can't retire yet as, like, his income goes to support his elderly mother's hospice care.
01:02Oh, okay.
01:04I know, right?
01:04Oh, my goodness.
01:05So he gets word of this GoFundMe, and it's just, the money is just coming in.
01:13And James said, I was speechless because I felt like the world showed up.
01:18And I think in these times, we need people like that.
01:21So soon after, the two strangers met.
01:24Yes.
01:26And Lucinda was able to shake James' hand and hand him a check worth about $174,000.
01:36He sent her a bouquet of flowers and addressed it to the angel.
01:41Oh.
01:42So update, like, Blair hasn't retired just yet, but he has used some of the cash to buy himself a
01:49new bed, which is so important.
01:51Absolutely.
01:51Get comfortable.
01:52So well done.
01:53You know, I love seeing strangers helping strangers.
01:55Shout out to Lucinda for taking that step and helping out James.
02:00And then, I'll see you next time.
02:07You
