00:00we've always been afraid to do a book together we did have a really good offer but they wanted just
00:05dirt dirt dirt dirt dirt i remember saying my parents are still alive i don't know now i have
00:10kids so they're going to be embarrassed
00:14rock metal frog and everything in between welcome to this episode of talk and rock with meltdown
00:21don't forget to follow the audio only talk and rock podcast on all podcast platforms
00:25and now it's time for today's conversation here's meltdown hey ricky it's kind of uh it's kind of
00:32interesting that that you were a little bit late to the uh the broadcast day because i didn't know
00:36anything about this but i i was watching your your uh your your legend tripping series and i was like
00:43i was addicted to it i didn't realize that you were in all that stuff oh yeah it's a lot
00:48of fun
00:48and you know what there's some interest too uh as far as um like maybe a tv series or something
00:56like that so um you know i haven't been doing as much content because we've been talking about that
01:03yeah i don't like to say anything until like something's really good oh i just did i guess but
01:10but since you brought it up you know what i mean so no dude i'm super infatuated in that stuff
01:16i
01:16actually host another podcast called haunted michigan and i talked to you know paranormal
01:20people uh around the uh the michigan area uh but you uh one episode you did last year about
01:26gettysburg i was at that farnsworth house if you if you give me a second here i actually had a
01:31a small experience there on the third floor did you take the trip did you start in the third floor
01:36they told they did they tell you how everything worked out there what we yes we did we did all
01:42the
01:43farnsworth buildings and stuff like that over the week that well we weren't there a week we were
01:48there like five days like uh my daughter and i went along with the taps team uh and uh so
01:55we were
01:55there we saw so much stuff that week it was crazy yeah it was really good yeah i was up
02:01on that third
02:02floor and we were getting ready to take the tour and um and and the woman was the guy i
02:06can't remember
02:07if it was a man or a woman they were just they were explaining to us for people to know
02:09no uh the north
02:10was on the south side and the south was on the north side it kind of got switched around in
02:14gettysburg and they would shoot down the street through this window that's in this farnsworth
02:19building and when a when a soldier was killed they drag him across uh the the floor over and they
02:24they piled the bodies on the one side and people that stay there uh they they say that they they
02:28hear
02:28stuff all the time in there even two three in the morning anyways as the guide's talking this kid in
02:34the middle of the room stops him and he looked like he had just seen a ghost he said somebody
02:38has
02:38their hands on my shoulders and i was like i was like holy crap now it didn't happen exactly to
02:44me
02:45and i was there but it's like that was just kind of wild well you know what we you know
02:49i i was like
02:50getting nothing okay for the longest time i was getting you know no indication of anything being
02:56weird or we were in attics with lights off all this stuff i'm like okay maybe there's just too many
03:01people here i don't know what it is but uh then uh we were borrowing some of these you know
03:08we have
03:09heat detection and we were getting the good we have a couple of guys uh with the fire department uh
03:15in
03:15our group and they lent us a couple of these i forget what they're called but uh um they're meters
03:21to
03:21to to see heat uh meaning to find victims and stuff that was coming up in the building you're
03:29talking about that's where i started to see stuff and i was like wow and i'm trying to videotape it
03:35off my phone onto the you know what i mean yeah and uh so that was pretty wild that was
03:41probably about
03:41the most uh compelling evidence that i got uh over that period in time it was fun now you're playing
03:49the token lounge coming up on on august 29th there's a building called uh eloise have you heard
03:54about that eloise asylum i have heard about it yeah so that's four that's five and a half miles
04:00from where we are 14 minutes i actually googled it i was in there one night and we were in
04:05this
04:05surgical room and somebody was clanking together these lobotomy tools from way back in the day
04:10and i've got it on video when you come into town i'll play for i got about 25 seconds snippet
04:15but
04:16outside this room these shrieks came and everyone looked at everybody and the guides you know called
04:22the people upstairs you said did you hear that no one heard it and i got it on video and
04:26i've sent
04:27it to some of my friends like steve shippy from the travel channel and he said it sounded other
04:31were outer worldly or whatever it is but uh you should go you should go if you got if you
04:36got a
04:36little bit of time that afternoon to go check that place out or maybe i would love to yeah yeah
04:42even better yet yeah anyways i could talk to you about ghosts of paranormal stuff uh all
04:47all afternoon long here but like i said you got that show coming up august 29th uh what what
04:53precipitated this uh tour for for 2026 well i've been doing some gigs with rocket mafia it's a fun
05:01thing that i put together a couple of years ago um and you know when i found out poison wasn't
05:08going to
05:08tour and and to commemorate a 40-year anniversary i thought well maybe i'll do that and but how can
05:17i do it that the way poison wouldn't do it or you know i don't want to compete with like
05:22what brett's
05:22trying to do i realized that poison would never do the whole look with cat dragged in record like we
05:28just that wouldn't be in our wheelhouse we do a bunch of poison songs that's how that would go
05:34so i thought well maybe that'd be a cool thing so i kind of asked a few people a couple
05:40agents
05:41different people is this a good idea or is it cheesy and they're like no i think it's a really
05:46good idea so uh we i said let's do it let's let's have some fun with this it's only going
05:52to be a year
05:52it's only going to be this year um because next year won't be the 40th um so obviously so you
06:00know we
06:00we went for it and uh it's been a lot of fun like it's been received really well so because
06:06we're not
06:07trying to do it we're not trying to do a like be a poison tribute band and i happen to
06:12be in it
06:13we're doing it like rocket mafia is doing the poison record so yeah that's the that's the approach
06:20because otherwise it'd be super cheesy now if i'm not mistaken mick suedo was in the band at one
06:26point is that correct yes as a matter of fact i was texting with him today yeah so he's been
06:31busy
06:32with the bullet boys and uh what happened towards the end of last year when we were doing some gigs
06:38he had a knee infection that like the doctor's like you cannot play like you can't go stand on a
06:45stage
06:46we're like well can we bring out like a wheelchair and make play you know and he's just like no
06:51this is
06:52not good for insurance or otherwise so um so we wound up uh you know uh you know replacing mick
07:00for
07:00a little bit and then stacy blade stepped in and then when mick came back from his knee injury
07:06he got offered the opportunity to work with bullet boys again and i'm like hey man you know it go
07:13home
07:13if you want to you know i mean yeah yeah do that yeah yeah so i i think that if
07:20i'm not mistaken uh
07:21mick and you and i are kind of from the same area of the country i grew up in western
07:24new york and
07:24this isn't mick from isn't he from that area there as well he is yeah he's from like not buffalo
07:31but
07:31somewhere in that area yeah and i'm a little further down you know pennsylvania central pa
07:37yeah i've been down there before i've stayed down there at the old fogies place that's a
07:42i toured the uh i toured the uh york assembly plants i'm a i'm a harley guy myself oh i
07:47drove that
07:48track did you know where they test the track when they first came out with the springer remember
07:54when they oh yeah in the spring uh i rode one of the first springers so that was really cool
07:59i think
08:00i mean the whole band did but well i know brett did he was with us and scotty ross trying
08:05to remember
08:06but yeah the york plants right there man it was like you know how cool you know it's so cool
08:11for a
08:11guy like myself who's ridden harley's for almost four decades now to see that but uh you know i i
08:17was
08:17reading like your your biography for your book which we'll talk about here in a second but um
08:21i am not a los angeles guy growing up in in in western new york did did you become a
08:26los angeles
08:27guy moving from mid-state pennsylvania to los angeles i don't know i don't know what that means
08:34probably not i mean i don't you know we lived in hollywood in the early years you know what i
08:39mean
08:39yeah with poison um but i kind of i i live an hour away from the city i'm out in
08:46the boonies here
08:47where i can ride dirt bikes and well i guess i guess that's the thing it's like you know we
08:50all
08:51we grew up in a different era than los angeles or hollywood and and you know i've been out to
08:55los
08:56angeles i'm like this just isn't my groove yeah i always say you know i'm too ugly for la and
09:02too slow
09:03for new york so yeah that's funny but um so yeah your your book uh ghost notes uh my life
09:11in poison
09:12and like i said i just discovered that that you were kind of in all this paranormal stuff i don't
09:16know where i've been all this time uh but tell me about this uh book do you have a date
09:19for any
09:20release or anything like that yeah it's coming out next month september uh you can uh pre-order
09:27signed copies and all this stuff there's some on amazon there's rare bird books um rare bird is
09:35distributed now with simon and schuster so that's but that pushed the book back a little bit because
09:41then it was now a 90-day turnaround so um so the book you know you know ghost notes are
09:48kind of like
09:48the notes between the notes when you're a drummer and that's kind of what this is it's kind of like
09:53all my footnotes of different things you know throughout poison's career and some of it is
10:01more poignant moments in my life and uh what what i was thinking and feeling during certain times and
10:08what kind of molded me and all that sort of stuff so it's not like a tell-all book i'm
10:14not out trying
10:15to bash anybody or do any of that kind of stuff but i think people will find it interesting because
10:20there's a lot of personal triumphs a lot of personal struggles um and filling in the blanks
10:26with some of those questionable poison moments that just i go what why do they keep repeating
10:33the same narrative like it you know nobody punched anybody after the awards like it just you know it
10:40sounds great for press but you know yeah yeah i like the uh use of the double entendre to the
10:47uh ghost
10:47notes i guess i never would have put that together oh yeah so we do talk about actual ghosts okay
10:54so
10:54yeah so yeah it is a double entendre yeah i think i heard uh a comedian or some sometime some
11:01someone
11:01once say if you ever get lost a conversation ask somebody if they've ever had a paranormal experience
11:06so we kind of touched on a little bit so have you had like a paranormal experience i have yeah
11:12uh several
11:13several times several um i uh you know i've uh outlined some of it in the book um but you
11:21know i'm in a
11:22paranormal group um but you know because i'm sort of and because i'm a legend tripper i sort of uh
11:31approach
11:32things i don't want to say i'm pessimistic but i i don't come i come in with to a case
11:40not thinking
11:41anything i don't think that it's a ghost or not a ghost or this or that i just kind of
11:46come in and
11:47go okay so the ghost is supposed to appear on the train tracks at midnight let's sit on the train
11:51tracks
11:52at midnight make sure that we're listening for a train so we don't get hit and and uh or whatever
12:00i'm making this up right but um you know so that's kind of what we do you know kind of
12:05what i do
12:06and i think that i've been invited into this group because uh because i'm i come from a more
12:13um i don't know uh skeptical yeah spectrum you know i don't just take everything oh there's
12:22ghosts in here maybe maybe not maybe you know there's lots of things you know dude i am i am
12:29totally with you and and the one episode i heard the one episode that i was watching earlier today you
12:34said you go look i'm not one of these guys that's gonna act all excited about something i'm i'm
12:38completely 100 percent i'm just like you i'm skeptical but i will listen and i will i will be
12:44there and like i told you that that video i have i don't know how to explain it you know
12:47it is what
12:48it is i suppose but uh so you're in the the atlantic paranormal society taps is that correct yes west
12:54coast version which is like a does that make any sense but uh yeah no that doesn't actually
13:03but uh yeah so i met all those guys like part of the gettysburg experience was uh being able to
13:11to
13:12meet you know the guys that started the group many years ago hang out with people i'm the like one
13:19of
13:19the newest members i've only been a taps guy for like three years i think now two or three years
13:25and
13:26uh the other newest member has been there nine years
13:31so they're very picky about who they bring in and so it but that's great because you know we have
13:38a
13:38um a really good reputation that way and everybody i can rely on this group so well i don't ever
13:46have
13:46to walk into a situation think somebody's gonna run out scared and leave me or knock out you do
13:52something stupid like i don't have to worry about that everybody's so solid in this group you know
13:57yeah um and i love it so yeah i was i just uh at round thanksgiving time last year i
14:03went to salem
14:04i'm sure you've been there a bunch of times love it yeah yeah that was really cool i stayed at
14:08the uh
14:09the hawthorne because my wife told me of course yeah my wife said she goes she googled the most
14:13haunted place in salem and she goes and you're staying there well if you come out to california
14:18then you got to stay at the glenn tavern and i saw yeah i i think i saw you talking
14:23about that as
14:24well and that's great so getting back to your book and stuff so obviously like you said you've covered
14:28the ghost stuff you've covered i'm sure there's a ton of rock and roll stories in there tons yeah
14:34there's a lot but it's from you know again it's from my perspective it's not the the thing is is
14:40some of the most interesting parts of our career were when we were sort of cutting our teeth and
14:45figuring it out on the east coast everything just starts at the sunset strip with everybody else like
14:51that was a short stop in our career i mean it was important but uh but we didn't really get
14:58signed
14:58because of that you know we were uh making a lot of noise on the circuit uh but we wound
15:05up on an
15:05independent label and um you know uh enigma so i just think that all the stories not all the stories
15:14but a big chunk of the stories of those early days when we're playing dive bars in maryland and all
15:21these places i mean that was some of the that was some of the crazy stuff quite frankly it really
15:27was
15:27so like we're honestly like we you know i was a hairdresser at the time right and uh so we'd
15:35go
15:35and set up get everything going do a sound check and then i'd come back work for a while and
15:42then
15:42go back and play three sets go home go back you know at the end of the night uh two
15:50o'clock in the
15:51morning three o'clock in the morning and just go to work and like go to sleep in the shampoo
15:56bowl
15:57and like just wake up and brush my teeth and start work and then go back to the gig
16:02and and i did that so many times i can't even tell you i would not have the energy to
16:07do that now
16:08at my age but but you know like just crazy stuff like that and the whole time i'm trying to
16:13get
16:13girls to come to our shows and stuff you know um and that would work it worked yeah yeah for
16:20sure
16:21yeah absolutely so how long were you guys in california before like you guys started to break
16:28um it took a good solid year it really did um what we were doing was we were um you
16:37know because
16:37since we you know we came from a circuit where you had to do a bunch of cover songs uh
16:44and la is not
16:45that you know you do a 40 minute set of all your own songs basically that it's a showcase town
16:52and uh so
16:54in order to make money we would go to the outskirts of la you know tustin and places like that
17:00and play
17:01top 40 stuff go and play three sets and do top 40 and make money like we did back east
17:08that's how we
17:08survived and other bands were just playing once a month in hollywood and we're like we can't just
17:15sit in our hands that long there's no way yeah you know what i mean so that's that's what we
17:20did we
17:21we had i think a really good work ethic i think that was a big part of our success for
17:28sure now
17:29when you were in the uh when you're in pennsylvania were you running across bands like uh cinderella
17:33or kicks or bands like that or were they a little bit before you or what well kicks was before
17:38us but
17:39we opened shows for them okay uh we opened shows for the sharks and a bunch of different bands cinderella
17:45no um so we didn't we didn't know those guys well i think brett knew tom a little bit uh
17:51i think he was
17:52at a rehearsal or something um and uh but uh but no we didn't know those guys we played the
17:58empire rock
17:59room uh which is where cinderella got signed out of uh but yeah they were um they stayed closer in
18:07philly
18:08we were hitting a lot more they were just a couple years ahead of us okay tom's a little older
18:14eric's a
18:15little older uh maryland the drinking age was 18 at the time so we played a lot in maryland you
18:22know
18:23because we were young we were 19 20 years when we moved out here i turned 23 out here that
18:29year
18:30okay so we we were young you know and i'm the oldest member right and so so you leave at
18:3623 by 30 you're
18:37multi-millionaire rock stars right yes yeah i mean that's a that's a quick change yes it uh it you
18:48know i grew up in this band basically you know what i mean i it's hard to understand myself without
18:55the poison history you know what i'm saying oh yeah of course i had to do a book about it
19:00you know what
19:01we've always been afraid to do a book together i think because we um i i don't know you know
19:09poison
19:10has been well we did have a really good offer but they wanted just dirt dirt dirt dirt dirt and
19:17you know my i just remember saying my parents at the time i remember saying my parents are still alive
19:23i don't know yeah yeah i don't want to embarrass my parents you know now i have kids so they're
19:28going to be embarrassed yeah right like they are now yeah you say like the dirt and it's like you
19:36know the first thing i think of obviously is the motley thing where they did they they wrote the book
19:40together like that you know i've spent my whole life on in in the radio but it seems like sometimes
19:44rock stars have their own ups and downs obviously you guys were uh you guys grew up in mid-state
19:49pennsylvania you go to los angeles you catch fire next thing you know you're you're you're touring
19:54you know you're you're playing arenas and stadiums and with all these you know and then you know then
19:59grunge comes along kind of maybe goes down there's a there's a real roller coaster uh kind of aspect
20:03to some some of the rock stars lives isn't there uh absolutely i and i talk a lot about that
20:09um
20:10you know the thing is is that during the early part of the whole grunge thing we were so consumed
20:15with
20:15trying to kind of reinvent poison and uh fill cc's shoes in some way shape or form and we realized
20:24we're not going to be able to do that so we we made a left a little bit of a
20:30left turn i just like
20:31it's funny because i just listened to that record native tongue yesterday i haven't listened to it for
20:36a while except for one song i do in my drum clinic but um i love the way i played
20:42on that record i think
20:43it's a great record uh richie was great to work with um and i i'm very very proud of that
20:50record
20:51i feel like i feel like we went we're not going to try to be grunge because that's not our
20:57jam we're
20:57not going to try to be what we were with poison or i'm sorry with cc we're going to turn
21:04the page and
21:05do a new chapter and we're going to do it really well and i think we did all those things
21:10was it as
21:12successful as open up and say ah and stuff like that no it wasn't um people had grown to understand
21:19poison a certain way and then there were other types of music that were you know obviously out
21:25there and so you know there was a lot of ingredients for why but it still quietly sold a million
21:32records
21:32like in the first few months it's not like and we were still on mtv and we were still we
21:37did get treated
21:38differently than some of the other acts that followed us um you know what i mean so uh we got
21:45it and you know it was well received by a lot of people um a lot of critics liked it
21:51uh to this day
21:52i think a lot of people like that record and again i do too i'm sitting there listening i go
21:57i really like
21:58what i played on that like that's cool you know what i mean yeah i listen go back to look
22:03what the cat
22:03dragged in and i go oh my god why did i play that you know what i mean but you
22:07know it's 40 years later
22:08what do you want yeah it's almost like when when motley releases hooligans it was like it was a
22:12great record wrong time you know the whole thing it was a great record yeah yeah i mean anything with
22:19kohlrabi i mean it was like there was some really good stuff there absolutely so yeah i mean you know
22:25sometimes uh it's just perception and timing and all that kind of stuff but i mean we had a great
22:33producer richie zito was fantastic to work with and i mean i think everybody was playing and brett
22:40was singing everybody was like we were at our prime i feel like and i feel like so much of
22:45it got and
22:46great video like the stand video is incredible i mean i look back at that and i go wow like
22:52that really
22:53we shot it on film it looked freaking like a movie it was so good you know um but uh
23:00but it just didn't
23:01resonate with core poison fans you know most of them anyway it just didn't we went out we did a
23:08tour
23:08we did fine you know we were and all that stuff we did europe we i mean it was again
23:13it was fine it
23:14was good uh but it wasn't phenomenal you know what i mean yeah it's like it's like catching lightning in
23:20a bottle i suppose right it's like sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't that's right and that's why
23:26you can take super groups and put them together and it just doesn't you know you think you know a
23:32plus a and b plus b and this is all going to work together not you once in a great
23:39while that works you
23:40know what i mean but most of the time you can't formulate it you know uh i mean i arguably
23:48some of
23:48these ai platforms are trying to do that but all right um but you know what i mean like it's
23:54just
23:54through and you know uh speaking of ai we have to talk about that for just a second sure you
24:01know i
24:01have a 13 year old daughter who thinks almost everything is ai slop they her age group can't stand
24:09it so there's you know a lot of people i think feel like the next generation is going to like
24:16just go we
24:16don't want that that's not i'm not saying they wouldn't want it to calculate a new prescription
24:23that helps somebody right right the part i'm talking about you're talking about getting a
24:26song on the billboard charts right yeah yeah there's a lot of that garbage yeah yes and and it's
24:34very predictable and uh you know i mean that it's basically that ai stuff is taking what already
24:42exists and mish mashing it together it's not creating something totally new and you might say
24:47well aren't you taking your library and yes and no i mean there you ai is never going to create
24:55a
24:55cultural movement the way the 60s did or punk rock or or grunge even or you know any of that
25:03kind of
25:03stuff um you know it's just or the clam movement like it's you know that that stuff was social as
25:10well
25:11as as musical you know and ai is not going to be able to do that i don't think well
25:16i hope you're
25:17right you know oh yeah yeah i hope you're right because it's it's it's you know garbage like you
25:23said but uh you just mentioned uh some of some of your drum parts on look what the cat track
25:27did
25:27when you when you do this uh rocket mafia do you do you change anything or do you just kind
25:31of stick to
25:31the script no i change it not dramatically i don't want people to go like right but i but you
25:39know sure i make
25:40it i i think it feels better i think it you know um some of the fills are better you
25:45know what i mean
25:46i i just i just think it better yeah yeah and you know when you guys came out you know
25:51obviously you
25:51put out the debut record and then you guys put out a few more records right now nowadays it seems
25:55like
25:56bands wait like five or six years to put out a record do you notice that too it's like i
25:59wonder why that is
26:01you know there's not a lot of money in records these days yeah um and uh but i i think
26:09what it is
26:10more than anything is i think i think bands should do records i and release more music it lets everybody
26:18know you're still there and you're still thinking about the fans and you're still creative and you still
26:23have all that and prove to everybody it's not just about the money you know i mean it used to
26:29be like
26:29you know you do a record and you know you get an advance and you know and and uh whatever
26:34you don't
26:35use it's yours right at least for a while until you pay it back but um so you know i
26:41but but there's
26:42you know get really advances to any real degree anymore not not not like the old days there's no now
26:50our
26:50first record was 25 grand and back in the day that may have been what 5 000 would be today
26:57probably and
26:59and i know that sounds backwards like you know uh it should be 50 000 yes it should be this
27:05now but
27:06it's it's not like it's just there's no because of streaming uh i mean poison has a pretty good deal
27:12with streaming but most bands cannot cut a decent streaming deal you know yeah and it's uh so it's more
27:20like the music's almost like an advertisement used to be the other way around you go on tour to advertise
27:26your record you know now you put out a record to advertise your tour i mean that that's pretty much
27:33how that goes now yeah and you know one of the things i brought up was with when you guys
27:38put out a
27:38bunch of records like at one point you just have to say that you're done with it right you're recording
27:43recording recording and like you said you look back on you go ah man i wish i would change that
27:46but at
27:46one point you got to say you're just finished right you kind of do and the producer is really in
27:54charge of
27:54that um but i always tell people you know always really listen to what what is on a record especially
28:00if it's a hit because that's what everybody finally decided was the best thing right yeah so there's
28:07something to that you know um so i've always tried to do that i always try to listen to like
28:13what did that drummer finally settle on and why why did the producer say that's it and it dawned on
28:20me
28:20one time one time richie zito was listening back to one of our tracks and i said can i do
28:27that better
28:28can i be he goes i'm not really listening to the drums particularly i'm just listening to make sure nothing
28:34bothers me about him and i'm like what he goes i don't want distraction if it's distracting the
28:41song it's not going to work and i was like hmm drummers take note if you're distracting from the
28:49song you're not being a good drummer yeah i i have to wonder sometimes when i listen to a song
28:54on the
28:54radio or you know when i play one and whatever it's like what was the decision besides fading the
28:59song out or ending it cold i always i've never recorded a song but it's like i guess you just
29:03have to live with whatever decision you make right yeah that's that's i you know fade outs are so 50s
29:09right in 60s there was all those fade outs you know what i mean yeah and so it's it's kind
29:14of
29:14or modulation changes and stuff like that but yeah no i think i think if you just like really don't
29:20have
29:21an ending especially if you're just jamming out at the end you know it's like oh let's just fade it
29:27what do you think of fallen angel or something that fades out right it's like you know just thinking
29:32about some of the songs you know it's like why didn't you guys just end it or why did you
29:36choose
29:36to fade it out it's like it's like the ever ever never ending question i suppose you know i think
29:41maybe um critically thinking about it like uh when you're listening to like a chorus that's vamping out
29:49like that you want to keep that in somebody's head you know what i mean so but like a rush
29:55song
29:56for example may not work as well fade it out like you want a succinct ending you know what i
30:01mean
30:01yeah because it's not like a shout chorus or something like that so like uh so you know so yeah
30:09it's a good observation i'd never really hardcore thought about it but yeah if you really want that
30:15chorus to stick in somebody's head yeah you know fade it out you know i've always thought like this
30:20song fade down then it's at one point the band just gives up and they just walk away but by
30:23then
30:23it's already faded out so we don't know what happened yeah well listen here i'm going to start
30:29to close things down but uh uh you know i mean obviously everyone is talking about it maybe next
30:34year you guys get back on the big stage what do you think i'm hey let's do it let's do
30:39it i know i
30:40know i talked to frank have drums will travel do you miss did you miss the big stage when you're
30:46not
30:46playing on it oh absolutely yeah yeah i mean i'm i'm used to it and it's it's woven into my
30:54very
30:54fabric i tell you and but but what is what is the what is it like playing some of these
31:00smaller clubs
31:00what's the advantage of that or what's what's something you like about that it's scarier i swear
31:05i it really it is the pressure is different everybody's looking at you it's like okay i'm here
31:11dazzle me you know whereas like a concert has a you know an outdoor concert or a bigger venue
31:17has a different mentality when you're going in you're already decided i'm having a good time
31:22right like that's i'm getting in the car let's go for a ride i expect you to take me fast
31:28whereas
31:29at a club people not sure what you're gonna deliver you know what i mean it's like um so it's
31:35but it's a good challenge it's a i enjoy the challenge for me too and and it's nice to be
31:42that close to fans i mean it's like it's not they're not a mile away they're right there it's
31:48like you know hey i always tell people i've never been on stage before a bigger crowd is like almost
31:54faceless like i've been on stage in front of 40 000 before metallica and it's almost easier than
31:58being on stage at the token lounge you're right you're right absolutely yeah so well you'll be
32:05there saturday august 29th and uh i don't know man i think we should try to do something at night
32:10with eloise asylum if we can get in there that's that place is pretty wild i'm all for it dude
32:16i
32:16think it'd be great let's do it all right i'll reach out to uh barbara and see if we can
32:20make
32:20something like that happen i don't know what your schedule is the next day but uh i don't want to
32:23pressure you know but it's it's really close i think you'd really enjoy it you know what i i'd have
32:29to
32:29look um well we'll figure it out yeah we'll figure it out i i have no idea but uh i
32:35think we can make a
32:36little time come on oh ricky thanks let's do a meet and greet let's do a meet and greet there
32:43yeah dude
32:45that's where that's where i was i was doing a thing with this band called the funeral portrait and they
32:49brought a bunch of their fans there and they split them up into two groups that's what happened that's
32:53where i was that night hey maybe oh the gears are turning yeah see there you go it'll be fun
