00:00As an EGOT, but now she's decided to add one more thing to her list of accomplishments.
00:07Barbra Streisand is becoming an author.
00:12Oh, okay.
00:13But not just any type of author.
00:14She's authoring a children's book.
00:18How cute is this?
00:20I'm trying to picture, like, is it going to be, like, set to a stage, like, theatrical?
00:26I think what you're going with is a great idea, but she actually is going a little more personal.
00:33So she's known as Gamma Barbra to her grandchildren.
00:38And this book is called And By The Way.
00:42And it's set to contemplate life's most important truths.
00:46Now, it sounds Heidi, right?
00:48But, like, keep in mind, it's a children's book.
00:50Yeah.
00:50She said that her favorite thing to do in the world is to read books to her grandkids.
00:56That's adorable.
00:57So she thought, I'm Barbra Streisand.
00:58I can do whatever I want.
00:59I want to write a children's book, which is so adorable.
01:03So it's set to hit the shelves March of 2027.
01:08And, by the way, could be on your kid's bookshelf soon.
01:12Yeah.
01:12You have two little ones.
01:14What was your favorite children's book growing up?
01:16The Giving Tree.
01:17Oh.
01:18I mean.
01:19That one's very depressing.
01:20Michelle Silverstein, right?
01:21Oh, yeah.
01:22I mean, depressing and good.
01:23Like, powerful, strong.
01:24Yeah.
01:25I just love, like, all the little, like, poems.
01:28And that it was, like, short, right?
01:30It was all little separate, like, separated stories.
01:34Yeah.
01:34I could keep my attention as a three or five-year-old.
01:37Good point.
01:37Very good point.
01:38Yeah.
01:38I have to say, we love the Pout Pout Fish right now.
01:41Oh, I don't think I know that one.
01:43Mm-hmm.
01:44And there's another book, and I'm going to forget what it's exactly called, but you would
01:48love it, too, because it's about empowering young girls.
01:52So it's ABC.
01:54ABC, what can she be?
01:55Yeah.
01:55Yeah.
01:56I think that's what it's called.
01:56Oh.
01:57And each letter of the alphabet is a different job that a woman could hold when they get older.
02:03I'm pretty sure, and now I'm forgetting this, but I'm pretty sure when I gave you a gift when
02:09McKinley was born.
02:10It was that book?
02:11Was it that book?
02:11No, no, no.
02:11It wasn't that book.
02:12Was it that book?
02:12No, it wasn't that book.
02:14That would be so awkward if I was like, this is our favorite book.
02:16And you're like, yeah, I bought it for you.
02:18No, no, no.
02:18No, it was ABCs of influential women.
02:22Yes, I know that one, too.
02:24Yes.
02:25So we have two reading areas for McKinley.
02:27One is by her reading nook in the basement, and one is next to her bed.
02:30So we have split up the powerful women books.
02:33There he goes.
02:34It's all over the house now.
02:34So she can find it anywhere she needs to go.
02:37Yeah.
02:37So ABC, what can she be?
02:39Each single letter is a different profession, and McKinley has memorized them all.
02:45But they're not easy.
02:46N, neurosurgeon.
02:49She's not even three, and she's saying neurosurgeon.
02:52No joke.
02:52Q, I'm not kidding.
02:54Quantum physicist.
02:56And she's saying that.
02:57And I say Q is four, and she says quantum physicist.
03:01Aww.
03:02Is radio in there?
03:04Radio host is not in there.
03:05Oh, man.
03:06It's probably radiologist.
03:08Yeah.
03:09She's x-ray technologist is in there.
03:11That's a tough one.
03:12That's a really tough one for X.
03:13McKinley's going to grow up to be so smart.
03:15Way smart.
03:16She's being smarter than us.
03:17You're smarter than us.
03:18Jinx.
