Willard and Dibs join Guru and Evan (in for Steiny) on a Thursday edition of the Crossover. The guys react to Anthony Slater's latest piece about the Warriors offseason and their decision to essentially stand pat...
Transcript
00:01Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:06All right, it's time for the crossover, brought to you by Bay Alarm.
00:09Rest easy, we've got you covered.
00:11Bayalarm.com.
00:12Gangs in for Stine Mets, Daryl the Guru Johnson, Mark Willow, Dan Dibley.
00:16Yeah, I need one today.
00:20You've got to get on the roll soon.
00:22I need to apologize.
00:24I misspoke during the break.
00:25I said, you're driving to San Diego?
00:27He's like, yeah, I do it all the time.
00:28I said, you know, one crash and that thing can get away from you.
00:32And what I meant was there could be an accident that you're not involved in
00:36and your traffic goes from an eight-hour trip to a 14-hour trip.
00:40That's what I meant.
00:41I said it wrong.
00:41Your shirt's dark, but that was darker.
00:44I have the whole room with whoa.
00:46The fact that all three thought the same thing, that's clearly on me.
00:49Yeah, we did.
00:50We did.
00:51Are we right?
00:52Do you believe them?
00:53No, what went through my head is that's what happens between being 30-something
00:57and being 50-something.
00:59When you're 30-something, you're like, yeah, I'm going to drive to San Diego.
01:02I'll probably do it again next week.
01:03And a 50-something is like, it's going to go very wrong.
01:06Do you understand how many things could go wrong if you drive from...
01:10Texas, you made it, Ian.
01:11Let me know you made it.
01:12I mean, you better bring extra food and an extra pair of underwear because you might get...
01:16Don't text while you're driving because it takes one accident.
01:19There you go.
01:20That's true.
01:20No, I'll have a gallon of water.
01:22I'll have a blanket in the back.
01:23I'll have Kindle just in case the car gets absolutely wrecked.
01:26You got to have 12D batteries, too, just in case.
01:29You never know.
01:30I'm in serious.
01:30You have flares?
01:31You have flares?
01:32Free flares.
01:33Absolutely.
01:35Check the pressure in the spare tire, too.
01:37You got to make sure you got 31 PSI on that thing now.
01:39Did get a maintenance check.
01:41That's always important.
01:42Always.
01:42Yeah, always got to get a maintenance check.
01:44But, yes, what do you guys haunt us today?
01:48Well, I mean, the...
01:50Someone's saying Diggs is a real mentor for that.
01:52For what?
01:53We were talking about mentors early in the show.
01:55How Draymond hasn't been one, and hopefully he'll be one for Yaxl.
01:58But early on, it doesn't look like it if that was stick.
02:02I mean, I always struggle with that because there's so many warriors who say that Draymond is, you know, big
02:12bro, this, that, the other, good leader.
02:14I know all we saw was him knock a kid out.
02:18And he admitted that, you know, he should have been better with Kaminga, and maybe that's what I'm judging him
02:22on.
02:24I don't know what his relationship with Kaminga was.
02:27I don't know what his relationship with Kaminga was.
02:28Well, he just said, you know, sometimes on the road they should have went to movies.
02:31He should have put his arm around him, go to the room, chop it up, fellowship.
02:36But we were just talking about have you guys ever been mentors?
02:39And I said at my sales job, I would train the newbie.
02:42At least you said you mentored your kids, and I said that didn't count.
02:44Yeah, he said that.
02:46I could use different stuff.
02:48I had a therapist one time go, hey, tell me about a sacrifice that you've made.
02:54And I just started, I went through, I was like, I got this answer and that answer and that answer.
03:00And he looks at me and he goes, so that's parenting.
03:02What else are you doing?
03:04So, Will, you've talked to somebody before.
03:06Of course.
03:06And you shared it.
03:07Of course.
03:08Wow.
03:08I'm not ashamed of that.
03:09Oh, no, you shouldn't be.
03:11Wow.
03:12Yeah.
03:13Anyway, I didn't mean to derail everything.
03:14No, no, no.
03:15I was going to say, have you ever been a mentor?
03:17I asked Devin, he said no.
03:18I didn't like to.
03:19I'll play it even.
03:20I'd like to think so.
03:21Well, no, you're doing that thing with the kids.
03:23That's giving me.
03:24Yeah, I'd like to think that it's helped some people out, but that's probably a better question
03:28for them than it is for me.
03:30Ask Deep Voice Simon out there in Silverado.
03:34Okay.
03:35All right.
03:36There you go.
03:36Ask him in another six months.
03:37We'll see if we can get him going somewhere.
03:39And Dibs, you got your mind.
03:40You got 20 under your wing.
03:42The thing that I may be most proud of is coaching high school volleyball and having your players
03:47turn into coaches.
03:48And I've had probably seven or eight go on to coach club or high school themselves.
03:53And so that is.
03:54You got a Dibs tree.
03:55A little bit of a tree out there.
03:56Yeah, and then I actually went up against one of them and they absolutely cleaned our
04:00clock, which was less fun.
04:02Shout out to Han Minikov and the Redwood Giants.
04:05Man, he gave me a hard time as a player.
04:07And then I'm like, I'm going to schedule you.
04:09I had a good team and nope.
04:11Uno dos.
04:11Adios.
04:12Wow.
04:12See you next time.
04:13I just think with Draymond, it's not really in his job description to be a mentor, but I
04:20think the difference is now as he gets older, those sort of things become more important
04:25to his, however long he wants to be a warrior.
04:30Like if he really does indeed want to retire one, which I think is important to him, then
04:35being a mentor, being a better role model, those sort of things will become more important
04:40just because his contributions by virtue of his age and kind of declining powers, there
04:45will be less to do on the court for him.
04:48And I think he's going to have to do more off the court.
04:50Maybe you won't want to, but.
04:51It's kind of an interesting thought to say it's not in his job description, and I totally
04:55get what you mean.
04:56Then again, I look at stuff like that in a little bit of an opportunistic way.
05:01If there's that opportunity, if there is a connection and the opportunity to help out
05:07a younger person who is trying to do what you've done, you know, if Draymond and staff
05:14are going to say, we want to leave this organization in a better spot.
05:17And they have.
05:18Right, but like, doesn't that also mean when you have an opportunity to help along younger
05:24players in your organization, you do it?
05:26Well, Brett Favre, I brought up Brett Favre and Rodgers, who didn't do it, and those guys
05:30were threats.
05:31And I get it, they're gladiators, and I ask you, you guys can tell me.
05:34They're also prickly.
05:35They're prickly personalities.
05:36Does Dray look at Yaxo as a possible, he's the next guy at my position?
05:41I don't know.
05:41Well, he is the next guy, but is he the next guy right away or down the road?
05:45And just hearing you guys kick that around, the thing I'm thinking about with Draymond
05:49is the added value, because you're no longer DPOY.
05:52You led the league last year in turnover percentage.
05:55You're not the same player you were.
05:57And if you do want to be here after your contract is up, the little things like this are going
06:02to matter more.
06:03And what did Draymond say that he said that Steve Kerr told him it's getting harder to defend
06:07you and all the things that are difficult about Draymond Green, well, you need to start
06:12adding in the plus column.
06:14And being a mentor is definitely a part of that.
06:16Yeah, I think aging with grace is a big part of the remainder of his career, because everything
06:22we know about him has been the fire on the court also is the fire off the court.
06:26And that's a big part of why the Warriors have been so successful.
06:30But, you know, is the juice worth the squeeze?
06:32It's like he played a lot of games last year.
06:34He was more available than Steph.
06:35He was more available than a lot of the younger players on the team.
06:38But his play is not what it used to be.
06:41And so if you're going to get this one last big potential bag and you want more, whether
06:47it's multiple years or one year contracts, I just feel like there would be more required
06:51of him that doesn't just have to do with basketball.
06:53It's going to be an interesting one.
06:55I mean, it's also to me, it's about how like personalities, how they blend.
06:59And I don't, you know, Yaxo, I found it very interesting to read in this Anthony Slater
07:06article today that the Warriors met with Yaxo last year and told him he was a jackass.
07:10I'm like fascinated.
07:11What does that consist of?
07:13And then Steve Kerr mentioning, he's like, he does not hold back his thoughts.
07:17And you're all seeing that in summer league.
07:21Yaxo Lundeborg, we've not gotten to know him yet.
07:23He's got a big personality, clearly.
07:25You called it.
07:26And to know that history, that it's just recent within the last 12 months that he's learned
07:32how to kind of rein it in and, and get his head screwed on straight with the way that
07:36he's working and practicing and everything.
07:38That's pretty recent.
07:39Like to learn that, you know, 15 months ago, this guy was like practice, whatever, you know,
07:44and had kind of a big attitude.
07:46I think people like Draymond inherently want to put someone like that in their place.
07:52And that's why Draymond's been saying, wait for training camp.
07:55But I never saw the flamboyancy from, unless I missed something, not way back when in 2025
08:02when he was a jackass, what did I miss outside of Yaxo?
08:06A reporter saying, hey, you got to pitch for LeBron.
08:08He mentioned Steph, he mentioned Dre, the best shooter, Dre.
08:11And then he could play with no rookie, but I've never seen anything over the top where
08:15it's like, I'm the, you know what?
08:17Right.
08:17But it goes back to when he went to the draft combine before he went to Michigan.
08:21And apparently he was saying what Mark was just describing, like, yeah, I kind of BS
08:25at practice and I don't take it seriously.
08:27And, you know, I don't always play hard in games, but I perform and he went to Michigan
08:32and basically he figured out that if he wants to get to this spot, he had to get things
08:36buttoned up.
08:37I think also even right when the Warriors drafted him and I don't have the details, but
08:42there was a little, right.
08:44There's a Michigan, Michigan state kind of playful back and forth.
08:47All right.
08:48If it's playful, it's playful.
08:49So I think it's fine, but if you're Draymond's personality and you draft the kid to 11 overall
08:55and he's already ready to be like, bop, bop, bop, let's have fun on Twitter.
09:01Draymond's going to try to put that person in his place.
09:03Doesn't mean it's negative or over the top or whatever, but it's going to be interesting
09:07to watch.
09:08Training camp coming soon.
09:09I'll say this real briefly to that.
09:11Of all the things that have been said this off season, all four of us in this room know
09:17when somebody sends you a text and when they didn't and the energy that you actually had.
09:22And I asked him when Stine and I had it on after a reporter asked him, yeah, I reached
09:27out to Steph and Dre.
09:28Steph responded.
09:31And the energy that Junkyard Dog had used profanity on I sent the text that didn't come across
09:38as, oh, they're just playing.
09:40So I was like, they're my, and Bill Gould, you're drawing with me?
09:43No, I'm not.
09:44That just stuck out to me.
09:46Like, that's a, it'll be interesting.
09:48Did the text go or not?
09:50Did you miss it?
09:51I mean, we had a text earlier about something that we had to record and it involved pizza
09:56and I ate the pizza when I wasn't supposed to eat the pizza.
10:00And so I clearly got the text.
10:02I haven't confirmed it, but these, both these, the marks are like, dude, what are you doing?
10:06You were supposed to wait, but I ate the pizza, but we were able to save the bit and incorporate
10:11it into the script.
10:12But yeah, he might've missed the text or he might've received it and actually didn't read
10:16it.
10:16I had a mentor one time.
10:19I kind of had to reach out about four times before I got a response and then I got invited
10:26into a meeting and he looked me right in the eye.
10:28He goes, that was completely on purpose.
10:30See if you wanted.
10:31Yeah.
10:32I was testing you and best believe there will be tests.
10:38Draymond is a test deliverer.
10:40No doubt.
10:41No doubt.
10:41Yeah.
10:42I think they're kind of similar.
10:44I don't know.
10:44And that can lead to stuff like this when it's, they're too similar.
10:48I forget who told me this might've been a mentor.
10:50Someone told me that you generally don't get along with people like you.
10:56Like you don't really originally at the start, don't like people like you.
11:01And I'm not saying that's what's going on here, but I do think that they are more similar
11:04than meets the eye.
11:06And that could be why they're both kind of mouth it off.
11:09And it's like, all right, you're going to talk like this.
11:11Well, I'm going to talk like that.
11:12I'm going to push you and you're going to push me.
11:14And that's their way to get better.
11:15I think it's just two people who both kind of have alpha energy.
11:18Well, there's a lot of those in the NBA.
11:20Exactly.
11:20And you're right.
11:21Like what you just said, I think, I think we've probably all experienced that where you
11:27get into a group or whatever, and you're like, this person's alpha and that person's alpha.
11:31And they're going to, you know, they're going to be like two rams on a hill.
11:35They're going to start butting heads.
11:36And neither one of them is afraid of speaking their mind.
11:39Yaxl seems to be more like goofy and I'm going to have fun and yuck it up.
11:43And Draymond is very direct, very direct in what he's going to say.
11:46Not that he can't laugh it up, but I think they're both really confident, like Mark said,
11:51and outspoken.
11:52And so there's going to be a little bit of this back and forth.
11:54You're listening to 95.7 The Game Cage, the MZF in HD1 San Francisco and Odyssey Sports
11:59Station, always live on the free Odyssey app and now broadcasting from the Laughing Monk
12:02studios.
12:03What else did you guys kind of take away from the piece?
12:06I thought there was a lot in there just to basically explaining why they're doing what they're
12:11doing, which is nothing.
12:13I mean, do you accept it or not?
12:14I do.
12:15I do.
12:16I mean, I think you have to.
12:17Go?
12:18I'm going to Evan.
12:19You have to, but I don't accept it.
12:21Well, then you don't have to.
12:23Well, I do.
12:24You don't have to accept it.
12:25If they win 12 of the first 13, I'm going to be like, you were right.
12:28We got something.
12:29The Niners 12 wins.
12:31So that's what I'm like.
12:32I'm putting that out there to where I'm not so mad or bitter that I won't join the party
12:38if there's music playing and dancing.
12:40Listen, but they got to go create that.
12:42But as far as do I think just running it back, hoping we'll be healthier and adding Yaxel?
12:47No, I think that's I think that's negligence, man.
12:50You can change your mind and you can, we all, we can say later that, wow, I didn't like
12:54this, you know, take the Jimmy Butler deal.
12:57A thing broke when Dibbs and I were on the air and neither of us liked it.
13:00I heard you got, I was, I was throwing.
13:01We didn't like it then.
13:03And I think we've both said since then, you know what, we were wrong that day.
13:06It was good for it while it lasted.
13:08And then now it's, yeah, but I'm not going to be like, oh, see, I was right because
13:11he tore his ACL.
13:12No, I thought it was a good deal.
13:14You would do it again.
13:15And you had some bad luck last year, but I think it's fair to say either you do or
13:20don't accept it, but that's kind of what I was, was reading with this and what, you
13:24know, to answer your question, Evan, what caught my attention?
13:27Like, what if I read this quote to you?
13:28This is from Steve Kerr.
13:30You have to understand your place in the league and where everybody else is and what the future
13:35looks like.
13:36Mike is really smart and prudent.
13:39He understands the landscape.
13:42Joe is in agreement on that.
13:44We're all pretty much really on the same page in terms of just being wise.
13:48Sometimes not making a move can be the best thing you do for your future.
13:52You keep stacking up good moves and eventually you pounce when you're ready.
13:58That, to me, that's the philosophy they used.
14:01For a team that doesn't do anything, the Sixers would rip that up.
14:05Well, but I think the Sixers would respond by saying it was our time to pounce.
14:10Right.
14:11The Warriors are saying it's not the right time to pounce.
14:14Maybe it'll be February.
14:16Maybe it'll be next summer when you have the books cleaned up.
14:19You've been talking about this all week.
14:20And I'm excited about how they're trying to clean the books.
14:22And maybe it'll be in a week and a half and they get somebody to take Chris Tapp's Porzingis
14:27and you're able to pounce at that point.
14:29I mean, I'm willing to be patient, but there will be, like, the bill will come due.
14:33It's like if you are preaching patience and you're telling us 2027, or maybe it's the deadline
14:39like you're talking about with all this flexibility we have, then you better do something with it.
14:44I mean, if you're hoarding your picks and you are keeping guys on one-year, two-year deals
14:50to open up the possibility, well, then it better happen.
14:55Like, if you didn't do anything this summer, you have to do something next summer.
14:58The one thing that also stood out to me, too, is it does feel like there's a lot of teams
15:02that are trying to pry stuff from the Warriors.
15:05And whether that's through four first-round picks and a pick swap for Jalen Brown,
15:10whether it's a brand-new contract and three first-round picks for Anthony Davis,
15:14you go back to Larry Markin and what Danny Ainge was asking for,
15:16there's a lot of teams that are trying to get at the Warriors in a very vulnerable place.
15:21And it feels to me like the league is trying to take advantage of their desperation.
15:25And that's why I felt it was wise not to do anything now, because if they did,
15:31it would be acting out of desperation, which generally doesn't lead to positive results.
15:35And the desperation probably wouldn't have gotten you to where you eventually want to get.
15:39And so it's a little bit like a football offense where, yeah, you gain three yards on first down,
15:45then you pick up two, it's third and five, and you get those five, and you just chip away.
15:49Or you're just going to chuck it deep every time and try to get the big score and make the
15:53big play.
15:54And sometimes you've got to just, you know, incrementally pound the rock.
15:57And you usually throw a pick when you do that.
15:59Right, right.
16:00I mean, like...
16:00LeTon just comes down with it, and you score a touchdown.
16:03To the point you're making, I mean, listen to the offers, and this is all just reported,
16:08but listen to the offers that apparently are coming in.
16:11And now, today, I loved hearing from Slater that this conversation about Jalen Brown was not at the trade deadline.
16:17Because that, remember, like we were saying, that doesn't make any sense.
16:20I missed that.
16:21Yeah, February, yeah.
16:21It was not at the trade deadline.
16:23It was more right before the draft.
16:25And the call was, hey, we would like your 11th pick, and three other first-round picks, and a pick
16:33swap.
16:33The future.
16:34I mean, that's too much.
16:37That's too much.
16:38But that's the kind of offer you get if people are smelling your desperation.
16:41Yeah, because everyone has been screaming from the mountaintop this entire week,
16:46Steph, can't go out this way.
16:48You need to help Steph.
16:49Okay, so if I'm another GM, and I'm saying, well, if they really want to help Steph,
16:52then they might be able to give me a little something else.
16:55And we learned from what Jalen Brown was actually worth, that was way too much.
17:00Yep.
17:00They only got one unprotected pick for Jalen Brown.
17:04So, clearly, four picks was way too much.
17:07The Warriors couldn't do that.
17:08Yeah, and I think the Wizards weren't going to trade Anthony Davis.
17:11Something that I learned in the piece, too, is their GM used to be with the Clippers,
17:14and so he saw what they were able to, or what they had to give up, rather,
17:18to get Paul George in the Shea Gildas Alexander trade.
17:21So, he understands that those kinds of deals are out there.
17:25And if you're Washington, and you don't want to give up Anthony Davis,
17:29but you can command an ungodly amount of picks and swaps.
17:32That's a really good observation, because that Clipper-Thunder thing,
17:37at the time, everyone's like, the Clippers are getting Kawhi Leonard,
17:41but it was contingent on them also acquiring Paul George.
17:45So, the Clippers are like, we're giving up Shea and a whole closet of picks,
17:50but we're getting Kawhi and Paul George.
17:52And the world loves it when you do that.
17:54You got the two established stars.
17:56Well, they got bubkis for it, and they built a champion with where they sent those assets.
18:03So, cautionary tale.
18:05Good cautionary tale.
18:07I was driving home yesterday listening to you guys, and I said to myself,
18:12Gu, who was doing a commercial, why did the Kawakami comment of, you know,
18:17Lake of focus on life after Curry trigger you?
18:21And I don't want to speak for Stiney while he's not here, but it was last summer.
18:25We were just at the cafeteria, and I asked him, do you think it bothers, true story,
18:30Lake of, that he didn't draft Curry?
18:33And they're family.
18:34Joe Lake of's already a Hall of Famer.
18:36Steph's going there.
18:36But we all have egos, and I guess I know why now I got closure,
18:42why I was triggered when I heard Kawakami say that,
18:45because if you're Joe Lake of, and you've maximized what you inherited
18:50when you bought this team and you had Steph, but just as a winner
18:54and a guy of his stature, there's no doubt, and you can't say this out loud,
18:59but his inner thoughts, I'm sure at night are, that day is going to come
19:03because I'm going to outlast Dre, I'm going to outlast Steph,
19:06and it's not a bad thought, but I told Evan this morning,
19:09when I hear that, that maybe that's what they're focused on,
19:13that would be the project that Joe has been talking or thinking in his mind
19:19of I'm going to show the world, not that everybody's asking,
19:22that I can deliver my own version of Steph Curry and have as much success,
19:27if not more, and I guess I parked my mental car there
19:31when I heard Kawakami say it, and I'm like, not you're giving up
19:34because you're not, but if you're focused on the future,
19:37maybe that's why you ain't doing nothing because you think you guys might be done.
19:41And you want to have the credit if you land somebody at that level.
19:45I understand it, and you know, you had Jerry West was here,
19:48the logo, rest in peace, and then Bob Myers got a ton of credit,
19:51and then even when Bob was here, the draft picks that didn't go right,
19:55a lot of people say, those were Lakob picks, and we all could be guessing,
19:58or we all have people who probably know, and so if that is the narrative
20:03for Joe Lakob, like, oh no, you don't get credit for Steph,
20:06or Draymond even, or Clay, but Wiseman and Kaminga, those were yours, Joe.
20:10So I get that part of it.
20:11But to me, you get credit for Steph.
20:13You created the second apron.
20:15Yeah, but how many times has somebody been like,
20:18I mean, even Andre Iguodala's out in the streets being like,
20:21this is Steph, and no one else.
20:23No doubt, no doubt, man.
20:24Andre doesn't want any credit.
20:26Durant gets no credit.
20:27Draymond gets no credit.
20:28Steve gets no credit.
20:30Joe gets no credit.
20:32Bob Myers gets no credit.
20:33That would bother me, I think, you know?
20:35Not to word anything with Steph, but just I can't wait.
20:38I mean, I caught a part of the article that I don't even think was the key part
20:43that everybody was reading, but did you recall reading that Dunleavy and Lakob,
20:48when they're in the draft room, and they're talking about that demonstrative
20:52sort of conversation, and Dunleavy says to Lakob,
20:55hey, we're going to get criticized no matter what we do.
20:59That line stuck with me, because it's very, very true,
21:03and I've been mindful, even as you and I and others have sat here this week
21:08and gone, you can't do nothing this offseason,
21:11that the Warriors are sitting there going, look, we could do a bunch of stuff,
21:16and then it still probably is going to leave us a little bit short,
21:20and then what are they going to say about us in two or three years?
21:24When we are stephless, pickless, and naked in the streets,
21:30they will get torched worse than they're going to be torched now.
21:35I think they know that. That's fascinating to me.
21:37And didn't they learn their lesson by the Jimmy Butler trade?
21:40We were heaping, well, maybe not everyone,
21:42but a lot of people were heaping praise on them for getting aggressive
21:45and going and getting a second superstar.
21:48And then that guy got hurt.
21:50He left you with a $54 million albatross bomb,
21:53and it's one of the main reasons you can't do anything right now.
21:57So that's right, two years later, it's, all right,
22:00they were big fans of us then because we went out and did something,
22:02and what did you get a return for?
22:04You're still getting killed two years later.
22:06Right, and the quote I just pulled it up was,
22:09Joe, no matter what we do, we're going to get criticized.
22:11It doesn't matter if we pick young, old, good, bad, short, or tall.
22:14And I don't think you're getting criticized for the pick.
22:17It seems like everybody's liking Yaxel, and they're liking him early.
22:20But to that extent, I mean, Dunleavy's right
22:23because the drafts that we've had in the past haven't gone great in recent past,
22:27and so you've got to get criticized.
22:29And now they're getting criticized for inaction at the summer period here.
22:33I still will bring this up until it is proven otherwise.
22:38Go ahead.
22:39What's the draft pick that Mike Dunleavy has made that you hate?
22:45That's the silence I'm looking for.
22:46Well, he's had just the one first-rounder, and it's Pods at 19.
22:49Right, but he's had other drafts.
22:50I think a lot of people would tell you they didn't like that one.
22:52I mean, Pods at 19 is a no-brainer.
22:56But even the second-rounders, all the maneuvers that they've made in the draft,
23:02any of them, can you argue with any of them at any level?
23:06And it's been, what, three drafts now for Dunleavy?
23:08Well, you can't kill anybody for a second-round pick.
23:10I thought it was funny, though, that they seem like,
23:12and we kind of talked about it at the time,
23:14they really wanted Burries from Arizona.
23:17That's what it sounded like.
23:18And that all changed because of the honest trade,
23:21where the Bucs got an extra pick.
23:23But I wonder, it's like, okay, well, how in love really were you with Yaxel?
23:27And does that end up being the correct pick?
23:30Because he had a better summer league, might be a better, who knows?
23:32They have a need for that position.
23:34Does another team's choice of a player that the Warriors would have taken,
23:39and I fully believe if he was available there, that was their guy,
23:43did the Bucs potentially do them a favor?
23:46That's like, that's the beauty of sports is,
23:48if Yaxel Lendenborg turns into a sensational talent,
23:52draft night is going to be where we will look back and say,
23:54well, actually, the Warriors caught a break instead of, well,
23:57the last couple of years we've been talking about how they didn't get Trey Murphy,
24:01or they didn't get Jalen Johnson, or they didn't get LaMelo Ball.
24:04And it's like, maybe it bends back in their favor.
24:06It might, yeah, and I'm reading from the piece,
24:09and I guess they got calls from a couple teams behind him to go ahead and move back.
24:13And so if you weren't totally liking Yaxel Lendenborg,
24:16then you probably would have moved back if there was another player who went later
24:19that you did like, Ade Mara or, you know, somebody else,
24:23Amant, who I don't think is that great.
24:24But if you liked one of those guys and you thought you could get him,
24:27you could have moved back, but you liked Yaxel and you made the pick.
24:31Yeah, no doubt.
24:32All right, guys, I'm going to get on the road.
24:34Drive safe.
24:34Oh, my God, drive safe.
24:36There's so much danger out there.
24:39I really, my God, I can't believe you're doing this.
24:42That lane is for passing only, and make sure you have the ways.
24:45Not anymore.
24:46It is a bit of a free-for-all on the road.
24:48No, be a part of the solution, not the problem.
24:50If you're feeling drowsy, please pull off the road.
24:53Go to sleep.
24:54We're going to try and break eight hours if we can.
24:57San Diego's coming up.
24:58At 2 and 10, eyes on the road.
25:00Stay off the phone.
25:01Sounds good.
25:02Unless you want to put on the Odyssey app.
25:04I will.
25:05Okay.
25:05To turn on 95.7, the game.
