00:24i mean i'm excited about it for sure and you know he homered the other night i saw that
00:29i went down and watched him play last week and uh in toledo and he went 0 for 4 and
00:36didn't do a
00:37whole lot and you know it was just it was one of those games that's going to happen in baseball
00:41the only thing i was walked away with impressed was and this was something that i could tell
00:47watching video but yeah he's an athlete he is very very athletic and has a chance to be an
00:53exceptionally good baseball player i was also looking for a fly ball like a you know something
00:57that he could have to track um and he made every routine play but there was nothing
01:03that was particularly spectacular so i just picked a bad night to go max anderson had a hit and went
01:09one for four but i'm a fan right i i mean i you know there's there's excitement about this and
01:15so
01:15the fan in me is like cool um a reason to watch beyond after a scoobal trade is is the
01:22next wave
01:23and we've just seen a guy come up who's set the bar so high we have to remind ourselves
01:29if max clark struggles it's okay you know mcgonigal is the exception not the norm uh and mcgonigal
01:37continues to be so good but i have to admit here on you know the end of july i wouldn't
01:44be surprised
01:46i wouldn't be surprised at all if mcgonigal has hits a bit of a wall you know playing every day
01:52at the major league level the way he has for so long wouldn't be shocking at all to me if
01:59he hits
01:59a wall but with that said you know the way we understand the rules and and uh tom millican
02:05looked this up and to play at the major league level you have to be added to the 40-man
02:10roster
02:10which doesn't sound like a big deal unless there's any kind of extended work stoppage
02:19and you know if you have a guy at triple a that you need to add to the 40-man
02:23roster
02:25and you're competing by all means call that guy up once you've moved into the non-compete portion of
02:33the schedule which may or may may or may not be after you move scoobal if you have a full
02:39-scale
02:39you know fire sale then you're probably moving into the non-compete portion of the schedule and
02:45even to my opinion there's a lot of people think you can sell scoobal and still contend and i'm not
02:50really a believer in that however it's just to hoard minor league stars and put them in toledo
02:57leave clark there leave anderson there
03:02you'll clean out your major league guys and this is the long play i'm talking about the long play which
03:06i'm kind of in favor of is you know trade for for tibbs and sirota from the dodgers trade for
03:15uh laura and and adams and and more from the brewers whatever it might be trade glaber for what you
03:23can
03:23get i i would hope and think you could get a good offer for glaber but you never know and
03:28then you take
03:29that player those players and you put them in toledo for the rest of the year
03:35and you go to spring training you give them all a shot to make the big club but you leave
03:40them
03:40in the minors until the new agreement is reached so that those guys can play
03:48one thing that could happen to max clark is he could get called up finish the year out
03:55baseball gets locked out and he's not playing that lockout could last a week could last two weeks
04:03could last a month could last two months i mean there are some people that say it could wipe out
04:09all of next year which is disastrous a disastrous result because i want to give major league baseball
04:15credit for this i think the brand of baseball that's being played right now is the best of my
04:22lifetime i think abs is wonderful i think the the replay is wonderful i think there is more defense
04:30and pitching being emphasized the games move although i saw a stat the games are longer this year than
04:37last year but there's actually more pitches being thrown i think this is what i what i read so there's
04:44actually more action and and yet it feels like the games fly by doesn't it like they're not dragging
04:51on baseball went through a brutal stage where i had pitchers standing on the mound for 45 seconds
04:57between pitches which was a lot of downtime if you ever watch an old game right now you go how

05:03that but i like the brand of baseball that's being played right now and if they have a work stoppage
05:11that is a huge huge setback so i really hope they work this out but one of the downsides to
05:19calling
05:19clark up or anybody is you put them on a 40 man roster and you lose they perhaps lose the
05:27ability
05:27to play minor league baseball next year because the minor leagues will carry on and we're really lucky
05:34if you're a hardcore baseball fan if they were to do this and again this is the long play i'm
05:39i'm i'm
05:49they could have left clark down there uh and have a the next wave of players playing and playing and
05:57playing and i don't hear a lot of optimism there is talks going on between the major league baseball
06:04players association and the league but it's just something to keep in mind maybe clark comes up here
06:12and absolutely rakes shows competency in the field and ends up not there there's no work stoppage in
06:22which case it's much ado about nothing but i wouldn't when the people zig sometimes i like to zag and
06:30parking your next wave of players all in in toledo doesn't sound like a bad idea to me
