00:00We are still following all the strong storms yesterday that caused flooding damage across
00:04the northeast. Take a look at some of this video from Hawthorne, New Jersey, showing flooded streets
00:10and cracked asphalt from the storm there. It can make a mess real quickly when water rises like
00:16that. And the problem is we're not finished yet. We're still talking about the rain in the northeast.
00:22It's been spinning around and rotating. Here we are still going through it as we head through
00:27your Wednesday night. Greatest concern will be parts of southern New England and parts of the
00:31Hudson Valley where we have already picked up several inches and now we're adding even more on
00:36it. Now, this might seem like a real downer, but the good news is it kind of comes in the
00:41middle of
00:41the week. So for many, we're still kind of grinding out through the work week. The better news is it
00:46does offer some drought relief. Well, there certainly are risks with flooding. We do have at least some
00:52dryness or even moderate drought ongoing here across southern New England. So this will be
00:56beneficial rain. It just comes down so quickly at times. It can be a bit of a challenge for us
01:02as we move through things as low pressure system can still sitting and spinning for your Thursday,
01:07which means you guessed it. There's more rain in the forecast. Lots of cloud cover out there.
01:12There's a drier slide across the Ohio Valley. So that's where we'll see a little bit more sunshine,
01:17brighten things up and also warm things up. Notice Pittsburgh, 82 Indianapolis, 85 versus New York,
01:2475. New York City, it's a morning showers for us. Then things start to dry out a little bit as
01:29we go
01:29throughout the day. But the clouds and the showers will linger throughout New England as we go through
01:35much of the day and into the afternoon and evening hours. So the rain is far from over just yet.
01:40The
01:41good news is this is going to be lighter rain. So it's not going to be as widespread heavy rain
01:46downpours,
01:47but we will still have the rain out there. It continues into your Friday. Notice how this moisture is still
01:51hanging out across the Ohio Valley. Very stubborn to get out of here. The high pressure to the west
01:57does manage to keep in a little bit of a drier forecast for some of the Ohio Valley. So we
02:03will
02:04get to have some brightening there, a little bit warmer temperature, higher temperatures, I should say.
02:08Indianapolis still 85, 88 in Detroit, and we're still at 83 in Albany. 70s as you work your way to
02:15the New
02:15England coastline. But what's changed is we've added some sunshine. Boston, mix of sun and clouds for our
02:2173 for that high. A few more clouds towards the Hudson Valley. It's not going to be a completely
02:25cloudy day, but again, still allowing for some of those showers along the Hudson Valley. Overall,
02:30trying to brighten things up, lessen the rainfall out there for us. Going through time, keep in mind,
02:36into the month of August, we're still concerned about the wildfire smoke. Some of it has been coming
02:41from Canada. A lot of it has been coming from the northwestern U.S. That still has influences across
02:46the north central. But at times, it's even branching into the Ohio Valley and across the mid-Atlantic as
02:52well as the northeast. So you will still contend with some of those hazy skies at times. New York
02:58City, as we head to Saturday, sunshine, clouds, 83 for that high. We're close to 90 in Washington, D.C.
03:05But the next storm system is already getting set to work in, and that's going to bring more clouds,
03:10a little more moisture for us. So Sunday, you can identify here temperatures all hanging out in
03:15the 80s or even 70s like we see in Pittsburgh, but there are a lot more clouds, a little bit
03:20less sunshine as we roll through that time frame.
