00:00hey guys really quick video for food and eating in Japan playlist so this is what
00:05Japanese people called shokupan which is like milk bread which you and I might
00:10call bread or white bread so really popular since World War two white bread
00:17has become more and more popular in Japan of course the staple in Japan is
00:20usually rice however the white bread has become more popular so yeah it has a
00:27sort of a milky a little bit sweeter taste than maybe white bread does in
00:31other countries but it's basically just white bread some people love it some
00:35people come here and rave about how great the shokupan is Japanese people love it
00:39they go on about how good the shokupan is they sort of treat it a little bit like
00:43real food but it's sort of more like a snack food really because there's not a
00:50lot of nutritional value in it that's all white bread there all of that is white
00:55bread and then up the end here there's rye bread there and multigrain bread and
00:59there's like how many loaves about eight and there's some fruit bread at the
01:03bottom and that's about the normal percentage that you get tiny little
01:06percentage of rye bread and multigrain and the rest all white bread because
01:11that's just what they considered to be the the normal bread is the white bread is
01:16the shokupan so it's mostly air there's not a lot in it's very airy and then get
01:23some flour in there and some milk and probably a little bit of sugar it's a
01:26little bit sweet so there's not a lot of nutritional value in it but it is sort
01:29of tasty so shokupan more videos coming soon
