00:23think that guy is for the Detroit Lions? I got a guy and I'm going to be intrigued
00:28to see. Kang, do you got a guy? You got a guy you think will exceed expectations?

00:36It's going to be out of left field. I won't say yet. Okay. I'm going to read a bunch of

00:40and maybe read some of the feedback we're getting and see if any, when you, if you hear your
00:44guy, say, that's my dude. All right. You ready? Derek Moore will surprise people how good
00:50he is. That's from Derek and Wyandotte. Rookie out of Michigan, physical specimen, really
00:57started to make plays. Um, you know, I, I was thinking mid round pick. They took them
01:03higher than that. Doesn't mean he can't be a player though. Uh, regarding Vita Vea, maybe
01:09Vita Vea would sign for 4 million per year. Could live in Bay city and helicopter to Allen
01:14park every day. Your thoughts. You know what? I didn't even think of that chance to live
01:23in Bay city. Uh, next text. Yeah. I don't see the lion signing him too big of a cost and
01:31not a huge upgrade from what they have. That's from an unnamed texter. My guy I'm still holding
01:37out hope for is Ennis Rake straw. It's such a small sample, but I always love what I saw
01:42from him in the last two preseasons. And I thought, man, this guy's going to be a player.
01:46Just please stay healthy. That's from Nick and Shelby. Well, one of the knocks on him
01:52out of Missouri was that he was hurt a lot. And then he comes to Detroit and he's hurt
01:58a lot. And so it's hard to get that excited about him. It feels like he's a player who
02:03the skillset is unquestionably there. It's just, he can't stay on the damn field. And
02:09when it comes to, you know, the whole injury prone thing, sometimes you are injury prone.
02:14You're just, your body's just not made to take the rigors of the NFL life and then
02:18what it takes. Other times you've had bad luck. If, if Ennis Rake straw is in the bad
02:22luck category, it's a great pick. Uh, Derek at work. I don't know why, but I feel like
02:28Rocky sin ends up exceeding expectations and ends up being a formidable CB one or two.
02:38Well, look, if he's going to, if, if DJ Reed is healthy and on the field and Rocky
02:42sin is healthy and on the field and Rocky sin exceeds him, it becomes a formidable
02:48exceeds DJ Reed. It becomes a formidable CB one. Then he has really stepped it up. I
02:54think he's a good player, but in fact, I saw some stats about him the other day in
03:00terms of, you know, what he was, you know, the, the, the metric of what is QB rating
03:06against you when they throw at you. And I can't remember who had it, but his numbers
03:12were really good. Like when people through at Rocky sin, the completion percentage wasn't
03:20particularly high. The, uh, QB rating wasn't particularly high. Um, if I'm a calling
03:26correctly, I got to see if I can find it. I don't know where I had it, but it feels
03:30like,
03:30um, feels like something that, well, it's definitely something I read, but I just want
03:36to make sure I got all the facts, right. I'll find it before the day is done. Uh, next text.
03:42Uh, I think golf is going to exceed expectations. We've seen him behind a bad line for a while
03:47now. And if this line can gel, I believe we will see golf that was in the MVP conversation
03:53a few years ago. Golf has been a pretty consistent performer in Detroit in terms of yards thrown in
04:00four touchdowns. The only stat that really matters though, is wins. And you know, he's
04:06pretty consistently one. Now last year team took a step back. There's no doubt about it.
04:12The wins weren't there. So something to keep an eye on and something that, um,
04:18something that I am hopeful for is that given golf, giving golf more time, you know, what's
04:24great is when a quarterback doesn't have to throw as much because your offensive line is so good.
04:28You could shove it down a team's throat and you're running out the clock at the end of
04:33games instead of trying to come from behind. So that's why you can get carried away with
04:37QB stats. And I think it happened a little bit with Stafford when he was in Detroit is
04:42when you're coming from behind, you're throwing a lot, but if the most important things, win
04:46the game. And when a quarterback is really good and really efficient, but his numbers suffer
04:51because you're winning, you're running, you're running the football late in games and you got
04:56a dominant run game. Let's go. There's, there's your formula that matters way more than what
05:02your quarterback yardage and touchdowns are. Um, okay. A couple of things I want to get
05:07to here because one of them might be a guy that could see the expectations. Tyleek Williams
05:13posted on his Instagram that he, it was a picture of him behind a wheel of a car, just a
05:21picture. Um,
05:23you couldn't see him. You could see out the front windshield about being off the camp
05:29and posting that he has lost 50 pounds, 50 pounds.
05:38Okay. Um, wow. 50 pounds. Now, how much did he weigh last year? And just cause you lost 50
05:51pounds doesn't mean it's your ideal playing weight, but you also probably don't lose 50 pounds
05:58just randomly on your own. Usually it is a team that's talking to you and says, Hey, we'd like you
06:06to be in better shape, uh, for the off season. Here's a goal. And
06:14Tyleek Williams says he lost 50 pounds in Instagram post.
06:21His playing weight last year was 328. So 278 pounds. That, that feels to me like a player
06:33that can play longer, play faster. Uh, Tyleek Williams did follow up that post by saying I
06:41was not 328 five months ago. Okay. So what were you? Were you 340? 350?
06:49350. It feels like this is not something that happens randomly. It is done as part of a plan.
06:57And I'm going to guess that the lions approve of this. It might've been the lions plan,
07:02but that's a player. When you take a player in the first round that comes with an expectation.
07:09And, you know, I think that it's just something to keep, keep an eye on. If a player is going
07:14to
07:14go through that kind of transformation in an off season, it's probably part of a grander plans.
07:19So two, four, eight, five, three, nine, 97, 97. Uh, who is the Detroit lion that you think
07:25is most likely to exceed expectations? The other news yesterday, cause we said, we get to some
07:31roster stuff on this eve of training camp is that the lions made a signing yesterday of Troy reader.
07:40Troy reader was a player that was, I think he signed his undrafted free agent with the Rams.
07:49And that means he was on, that was back in, hold on, let me look this up. Uh, uh, back
07:56prior to the 2019 season.
07:58So that means he was a player that was on Brad Holmes draft board. So it makes you wonder, all
08:05right,
08:06this is a guy that the Brad Holmes has an expectation for Brad Holmes. Like Brad Holmes spent some time
08:11and Brad Holmes scouted, liked him, signed him once. And just going back to that. Well, although Kang,
08:19uh, it might take some opportunity away from your undrafted free agent, your favorite, uh, Eric
08:25Hunter, the kid from Morgan state. Yeah. I always like to pick a guy that, or, you know,
08:30go, go through it down the roster and see like a bubble type guy. And, and listen, odds are Eric
08:34Hunter is probably not going to make the team and he's going to need to be pretty important on special
08:38teams to, you know, to make the roster, but it doesn't help me if I'm Eric Hunter fan. And when
08:43they're signing another linebacker, a veteran guy who's been in the league and it was also a special
08:47teams guy. Uh, but I think what that signing shows you and everyone does this around the league,
08:51Doug is, you know, depth and how many times did the lions have to go deep into the well,
08:56you know, at certain positions and linebacker was one of them when guys were getting hurt
09:01a couple of years ago, Jamal Adams was signed off the street and literally started like three
09:06days later, I believe something like crazy like that for the lines. They actually played
09:08and maybe started multiple games for the lines that year. I think that, you know, they're more
09:14aware of it. They've always been aware of creating depth of course, but maybe more so now
09:17because of what has happened the last couple of years. And so I think that's an older guy.
09:21They trust. And you, you just mentioned Brad Holmes has some, uh, familiarity with him
09:26in, uh, LA two, four, eight, five, three, nine, 97, 97. Who's your breakout guy? The player
