00:03In Venezuela, more than 20,000 families have already registered in La Guayra single housing registry over a month after
00:10the double earthquake.
00:17France and Spain authorities continue battling devastating wildfires that have forced the evapuation of thousands,
00:24while Morocco succeeded to extinguish two forest fires in Tetouan and Tarudan.
00:34In the latest and least escalation of facilities in the West Bank, Israeli forces have arrested more than 120 Palestinians
00:41in the past two days.
00:48Hello, welcome from the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Iglesiasu Studios in Caracas, Venezuela. We begin with the news.
01:14More than 20,000 families have already registered in La Guayra single housing registry more than a month after the
01:20earthquake between the impact and hope.
01:22This is how reconstruction is progressing. Let's watch the following report with Luis Tavera.
01:29More than a month after the twin earthquakes, La Guayra is making progress in assessing the damage.
01:34More than 11,000 people remain in camps while the unified housing registry key to reconstruction moves forward.
01:41And for those who lost everything, returning to the site of the disaster means coming face to face with the
01:46passage of time.
01:49In 99, I was 39 years old. Now I'm 65 and it's harder to get up. And given what we've
01:57seen, in fact, I haven't been back since the 25th when they evacuated us.
02:01And now I'm returning because they're conducting the census. Well, let's just have faith.
02:06The census also reflects solidarity. Take Daniela, for example, who accompanied her neighbor, an elderly man, to ensure his information
02:14was recorded.
02:16He lost his home, his apartment. He used to live on the street leading down from the Caraballo Clinic and
02:22lost everything.
02:24He lives alone. He's 83 years old. And my dad took him in as if he were part of the
02:28family.
02:30We're accompanying him so he can complete this census and anything else we can help with.
02:35Completing this digital registration is a step toward getting the assistance they need, the same assistance that brings back memories
02:41of that day when everything changed.
02:43I was watching my baseball game, just relaxing, at five in the afternoon, and there was a tremor.
02:50And then what happened five minutes later, it destroyed the entire building, everything.
02:54Through testimonies and visits to registration sites, State Governor Alejandro Teran gets a first-hand look at the stories of
03:01those seeking to start over.
03:11A process that aims to channel housing solutions to families.
03:18In just 13 days, 21,000 households have already registered in our Unified Housing Registry of people who hope to
03:26receive support from the Venezuelan government and the state government for a housing solution that will take various forms.
03:33This may involve access to subsidized mortgage loans covering up to 80% of the cost, as announced by the
03:38President of the Republic, or it may involve becoming a direct beneficiary of one of the homes we are building
03:45in different states, including here in LaGuayra.
03:48With three strategic locations set up throughout the state, the process continues to provide direct assistance to affected families, consolidating
03:57the data needed for the next phase of recovery.
03:59The single housing registry is a fundamental step in providing comprehensive assistance to those affected by the twin earthquakes of
04:07June 24.
04:08From the camera of Jesus Romero, Luis Tavera, Telesur, LaGuayra.
04:15Venezuela's acting president, José Rodríguez, led the ceremony to present the Heroes of Venezuela Award to the Rescue and Salvage
04:22Regrets of the Republic of Cuba.
04:24More than 140 Cuban doctors provided support at the CDIs and health centers in LaGuayra, as well as at 14
04:32temporary camps, offering medical, forensic, surgical, and psychological care.
04:36The Cuban contingent, which arrived on June 29, included rheumatologists, surgeons, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, rescue workers, and free-trained drugs.
04:47The mission's objective was to provide humanitarian aid to the civilian population in the most affected areas.
04:54President Rodriguez highlighted Cuba's internationalist solidarity, which has stood by the Venezuelan people throughout this tragedy.
05:07And hundreds marched through Mexico City to protest U.S. sanctions and energy restrictions against Cuba.
05:13Waving Cuban flags and carrying signs condemning the blockade, demonstrators demanded an immediate end to restrictions targeting the island's fuel
05:20supplies.
05:21Activists accused Washington of trying to shock Cuba's economy following executive measures targeting countries supplying oil to the island, which
05:29have severely cut crude shipments.
05:31The rally coincided with the anniversary of the 1953 Moncada Barracks assault, while U.S. authorities maintained sanctions that punished
05:38the entire Cuban population.
05:46That is why today we are mobilizing here from Mexico City, to let the Cuban people know that they are
05:52not alone, that we defend the Cuban revolution.
05:55And, above all, also to call on the governments of the world to uphold international law and for oil to
06:01return to Cuba.
06:02Donald Trump is pushing a genocidal blockade with the new sanctions and the new restrictions on Cuban tourism, on the
06:10Cuban medical sector.
06:12That does nothing but bring life to other places.
06:15So they are trying to strangle the Cuban people, to suffocate them in order to try to generate an internal
06:21revolt.
06:23And gun violence in the United States shows no signs of ceasing as a disturbing reality.
06:28A shooting during the Bike of Seattle Food Festival left three dead and several injured, including a child.
06:33According to a City Fire Department spokesperson, three people were killed and four others wounded in a shooting on Sunday
06:39evening during a food festival at an events complex near the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington State.
06:46The Harborview Medical Center received the victims.
06:48Authorities did not immediately release more information, as police continued investigating the shooting and urged people to avoid the area.
06:55The Seattle Center was hosting the Bike of Seattle Food Festival over the weekend, an annual event that drove 350
07:01,000 attendees over three days of food, drink and community celebration.
07:13I was about to grab me a boba from the boba stand.
07:15I heard about, I'd say close to 12.
07:18It sounded a little bit like firecrackers at first.
07:20It kept, it took like, I'd say a half a second pause and I heard a lot more.
07:24I realized it was semi-automatic, probably it sounded like a switch.
07:27I looked to my left, I saw at least one individual with a switch, semi-automatic.
07:32I saw another one that was two, that's when I heard over that those shots fired.
07:36That's when I took off around the corner.
07:39Yeah.
07:39I heard there was, I saw at least one person go down.
07:42I know it was a mom that went down.
07:43I'm not sure who else was injured.
07:45But I did see all the people running and my dad was outside.
07:49So I ran out to pull him in because they were stepping over people.
07:53They were stepping over people, there was a lot of food on the floor and there were people on the
07:57floor.
07:57There were kids, strollers, so I freaked out for him.
08:01And then inside, all the trees are enclosed in plywood.
08:05So we got behind the plywood, everyone, all the vendors got behind the plywood because of the shooter.
08:11Until, I don't know, it was like five minutes.
08:15Then it was kind of like, you know, a big silence.
08:17And it wasn't until like 15 minutes later, the cops started showing up, evacuating everyone.
08:24We know for our first break coming up.

08:33We're going to be right back. Stay with us.
08:58Welcome back.
08:59Diplomatic tensions have flared between Brazil and Argentina, following provocative statements by Argentine President Javier Melay targeting Brazilian institutions.
09:07Brazil has recalled its ambassador to Buenos Aires and summoned Argentina's envoy after Melay launched verbal attacks against President Luis
09:14Ignacio Silva and Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
09:18Speaking at a rally endorsing Flavio Bolsonaro, the far-right leader openly intervened in Brazilian politics while leveling unsubstantiated claims,
09:27accusing Lula's government of funding anti-Argentine campaigns.
09:31President Lula firmly rejected the hostility asserting that Brazil will defend its sovereignty against external interference.
09:43An outrage is growing in rural areas of Panama where residents are protesting a presidential decree ordering the closure of
09:50local cemeteries.
09:51Residents in Limón de Chacres are fighting plans to exhume human remains condemning the project as a desecration of their
09:59ancestral land and heritage.
10:00The government decree clears the path to dam the Indio River, creating a major reservoir designed to supply drinking water
10:08and maintain shipping operations for the Panama Canal.
10:10For their part, the affected rural families vow to continue to resist the flooding of their homes and sacred sites.
10:26So it's not just that they're going to desecrate these lands where our loved ones rest,
10:33but that they're going to desecrate this land that was the heart of our ancestors' way of life.
10:41Real Indio isn't called that just for the sake of it.
10:43There were a great many indigenous people who once inhabited these lands.
10:49The cemeteries in our communities are the roots of these towns.
10:55And moving forward with this law, with this presidential decree,
11:01will only serve to cause more instability and more pain for the people affected by this project.
11:13In Italy on Sunday, demonstrators marched through Bologna's pilastros neighborhood one week after Moroccan-born Abderrahim Fakir died while being
11:22restrained by police.
11:24Protesters held flares and chanted for justice for the Moroccan-born entrepreneur who died on July 19th while being forcibly
11:31restrained by police.
11:32Wildly shared footage of Fakir's death show police holding the 42-year-old face down on the ground where he
11:38repeatedly called for help before falling still.
11:41The incident has sparked nationwide outrage and heightened the debate around police brutality.
11:47Bologna prosecutors are examining the circumstances of his death, including the actions of the police officers and emergency medical workers
11:55involved.
11:55The case has drawn comparison with the 2020 killing of George Floyd in the United States.
12:07And tensions flared in Palma de Mallorca as thousands marched against mass tourism culminated in violent clashes with police.
12:14What began as a peaceful rally descended into chaos as police deployed heavy reinforcements to disperse protesters, leaving several confrontations
12:22across the city center.
12:23Tens of thousands joined the Mallorca at the Limit demonstration demanding caps on visitor numbers,
12:29extriced the rental controls and relief from skyrocketing housing costs.
12:34The mobilization follows a record-breaking year with over 13 million visitors,
12:38as local residents warn the island's current tourism model is no longer sustainable.
12:59And Spain's military emergency unit continues battling devastating wildfires west of Madrid,
13:05where flames have swept through thousands of hectares around Sotillo de la Drada in Ávila province.
13:11Firefighters backed by military personnel, aircraft and regional emergency crews are working to protect communities as evacuations remain in place.
13:19Spanish Minister for Ecological Transition Sara Aguesson described the blaze as the largest forest fire in the country's recent history,
13:27warning that increasingly extreme weather is fueling more destructive fire seasons.
13:31Authorities have linked the rapid spread of the flames to prolonged drought.
13:34Soaring temperatures and strong winds.
13:38Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has also stressed that the climate emergency is making the disasters more frequent and more intense,
13:46as Spain mobilizes public resources to confront another summer mark by record-breaking heat and growing environmental challenges.
13:59And raging wildfires in southwestern France have forced the evacuation of over 220,000 people as flames continue to spread.
14:07In the Gironde region near Bordeaux, more than 42,000 hectares have been destroyed, pushing emergency shelters to capacity.
14:15Railway services south of Bordeaux remains suspended as authorities struggle to contain the disaster.
14:20With nearly 100,000 hectares burned nationwide this year, France has set a historical record for wildfire destruction,
14:26prompting the activation of the European Union's civil protection mechanism amid a deepening climate crisis.
14:39It was 2 a.m. I just started to fall asleep when suddenly my mobile phone went boom, boom, boom.
14:45The neighbors were panicking and getting in their cars. I quickly grabbed some things along with my parents.
14:54What is complicated is that there are a lot of people coming at once. Several cities around the Bordeaux area
15:02were told to evacuate.
15:04We have enough food, water and provisions.
15:11Morocco successfully extinguished two forest fires in Tetouan and Tarudan, which affected 12 hectares of vegetation without causing any casualties.
15:19A source explained that authorities deployed Canada air amphibious aircraft and an EC-225 helicopter to support the efforts of
15:29ground brigades.
15:30According to data from the National Water and Forest Agency, the country recorded 310 forest fires from the beginning of
15:38the year through July 20th,
15:40with an estimated 1,850 hectares of wooded land affected.
15:44Previously, the General Directorate of Meteorology had forecast a heat wave with temperatures reaching up to 46 degrees in various
15:52regions of the country.
16:00Catastrophic flash floods have turned through northeastern India, leaving communities submerged and thousands stranded in Assam State.
16:07Sibas-Sagar district was among the hardest hit after sudden surges overwhelmed villages within hours.
16:13Raging waters destroyed homes, killed livestock and forced residents onto rooftops overnight.
16:18Officials attributed disasters to extreme rainfall and have reported cloudbursts in neighbouring Nagaland.
16:25Nearly 655,000 people are affected across six districts, with the death toll rising to 66.
16:32The Indian military and national disaster teams are deploying widespread relief operations as hundreds of thousands remain without adequate food,
16:39water or shelter.
16:47And rescue operations are underway in China after flash flooding in Gansu province left 10 people dead and 23 injured.
16:54The flash floods triggered by sudden heavy rainfall hit a scenic area in Weijuan County on Sunday afternoon, leaving 10
17:01people dead and 23 injured as of 6 p.m.
17:03In this context, China's Office of the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management
17:09have dispatched a work team to the area to guide local relief efforts after a flash flood caused casualties.
17:16Furthermore, the headquarters has activated a Level 4 Flood Prevention Emergency Response for the province.

18:01In the latest serious escalation of facilities in the West Bank, Israeli forces have arrested more than 120 Palestinians in
18:07the past two days.
18:08According to a report from the Palestinian Center for Prisoners Advocacy, Israeli forces have detained more than 120 Palestinians across
18:15the occupied West Bank over the past two days.
18:17The arrests come as part of Israel's sweeping campaign to exact revenge after an Israeli settler assault on a Palestinian
18:24family's land resulted in four Palestinian and two Israeli deaths on Friday.
18:28In this sense, the arrests were concentrated in Nablus, Tulkarem and Hebron, where troops raided homes, damaged property and beat
18:35detainees during field interrogations.
18:37The agency further called on the UN, the Red Cross and rights organizations to provide urgent protection for Palestinians in
18:44the West Bank.
18:51And the Yemeni Armed Forces have struck three Saudi vessels and denied passes to 16 others at the Red Sea
18:57blockade holes.
18:58According to Yemeni sources, since Yemeni imposed its naval blockade on Monday, no Saudi oil tanker has crossed the Bab
19:04al-Mandab Strait in either direction.
19:06Earlier on Sunday, Yemeni air defenses shut down a Turkish-made reconnaissance drone, allegedly belonging to Saudi Arabia, while it
19:14was operating over Al-Jub province.
19:17This comes after the Yemeni Armed Forces declared an end to the 2022 truce after a Saudi airstrike on Sana
19:22'a International Airport.
19:24Following large popular marches across Sana'a and other provinces, Yemeni imposed a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia under a
19:30blockade-for-blockade equation.
19:39In Libya's capital, anti-government protests erupt as anger grows over power cuts.
19:45Protesters in Tripoli have shut down roads and public buildings across the city as a civil disobedience campaign launched over
19:52prolonged power cuts and high electricity rates spread to more districts.
19:56Crowds blocked the coastal road in Jansur west of Tripoli on Sunday and gathered outside the West Tripoli power station
20:02in protest at the hour's long outages.
20:04The mostly young protesters also shut the offices of state telecoms operator Libyana, as well as the foreign ministry building
20:10in the capital.
20:11In this sense, demonstrators are calling for accountability over alleged corruption and for the dissolution of Libya's existing political institutions,
20:19including the government, the House of Representatives, the State Council and the Presidential Council.
20:31An Iranian supreme leader, Moshtaba Khamenei, has said that peace between Tehran and Washington is contingent on Israel stopping its
20:38attacks on Lebanon.
20:39Khamenei took to his ex-account to make the statement, saying the Islamic Republic of Iran has designated the preservation
20:45of Lebanon's territorial integrity
20:46and the absolute unconditional termination of the Zionist regime's aggression as the primary condition for any agreement to end the
20:54imposed war against the aggressive U.S.
21:04Meanwhile, Iranian foreign minister spokesman Ismail Bakay condemned Ukraine's attack against an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea,
21:10calling it a dangerous escalation of hostilities that breaks international law.
21:19You cannot be sure that a theatrical move to draw attention to display your not-so-great weight in international
21:24equations will remain limited to that level.
21:30Its consequences for you will certainly be unforeseen.
21:40This action by Ukraine was an absolutely illegal and unjustified act, contrary to the Charter of the United Nations, as
21:46well as a dangerous act of adventurism that will certainly not go unanswered by us.
21:53Iran says ongoing talks with Oman over the Strait of Hormuz are strictly by Ratelo, insisting the United States is
21:59not involved and that there are currently no negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
22:07Due to the U.S.
22:08Due to the aggressive actions of the U.S. and the insecurity that the U.S. has imposed on the
22:12region, the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.
22:16As I said, these talks have no connection with the United States.
22:19They are a bilateral matter between Iran and Oman, and they are continuing.
22:28Yes, intermediaries may convey messages from the U.S. side to us regarding ongoing developments in the region.
22:34But at present, we are not engaged in any negotiations with the United States.
22:42Russia's defense ministry announced Sunday that its military forces have taken control of a settlement in the Donetsk region.
22:47According to the latest daily briefing, Russian troops gained control over the village of Shevchenko.
22:52The ministry reported targeting several Ukrainian facilities, including long-range drone production and storage sites, logistic hubs and military infrastructure.
23:01Russian air defense systems also intercepted eight guided aerial bombs and down over 1,000 drones over the past 24
23:07hours across multiple areas.
