00:00In Venezuela, the National Civil Aviation Institution revoked the authorization to operate in the country for six international airlines for unilaterally conceding flights to the country.
00:23Following a note is from Foreign Authority.
00:25General elections are underway in San Vincent and the Granadians to renew 15 seats in parliament.
00:34The election contest sits between Prime Minister Raul Gonsalvo's Labour Party and the New Democratic Party.
00:42The Palestinian resistance denounced that the Sionese occupiers remotely executed fighters who remained besieged in the Rafa tunnels.
00:51Hello, welcome to From the South.
00:58I'm Anna Marrero, From the Telesur Headquarters in Caracas, Venezuela.
01:01We'll be with the news. Stay with us.
01:02The National Civil Aviation Institute of Venezuela revoked the authorization to operate in the country for six international airlines for unilaterally conceding flights to Venezuela.
01:27Following a notice from Afrin Authority.
01:31The decision published in the official Gazette of the Bolivarian Nation specifies that the measures have been taken against Iberia, Tab, Avianca Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Gold Airlines.
01:43The agency also stated that these companies joined the state terrorism actions promoted by the United States government by unilaterally suspending their operations to Venezuela based on a notice issue by an Aviation Authority without jurisdiction in the country.
01:58As general elections are underway in San Vincent and the Granadines, we go live to Kingston with our special envoy Belen de los Santos who will tell us more of this significant date.
02:28Hello, Belen, tell us about it.
02:33Hello, Anna, exactly as you were saying, we are starting this general elections here in San Vincent and the Granadines polls have been open since 7 a.m.
02:43It's 8.40 a.m. local time right now.
02:47And as you can see right behind me, the people are already in line.
02:52They are exercising their right to vote.
02:54Let's recall we are at the St. George East constituency at this moment.
03:00We are talking about general elections in San Vincent that are underway to elect 15 of the representatives of the Assembly, the one camera of the Parliament.
03:14And those 15 representatives, one pair each of those constituencies that make up St. Vincent and the Granadines, those will elect the Prime Minister.
03:25So whoever wins the most constituencies out of the 15, those will be the one to elect, of course, the Prime Minister.
03:34Both parties that are participating in this election are the incumbent, the ruling government of the ULP, the Unity Labour Party, of Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves at this moment that is looking to revalidate.
03:49And also for the opposition, the new Democratic Party, the NDP, and as we were saying, this is constituency by constituency, vote by vote.
04:02In this case, we are in St. George East.
04:06One of the things to keep in mind is that in this case, in St. George East, the candidate for the representative at the Assembly is Camilo Gonsalves, the current Minister of Finance and Economic Planning here in St. Vincent and the Granadines,
04:21and also the son of Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves, one of the most prominent figures of the ULP.
04:28And people are coming here.
04:30We've been looking at the numbers.
04:33Let's recall that St. Vincent and the Granadines has a 110,000 population, nation one, over 100, close to 101,000 are registered to vote.
04:45And one curious thing is that for a country where the vote is non-mandatory, it tends to have very high participation numbers.
04:53People are expecting around a 70% in this case.
04:57And because people know that every vote count, we are looking at constituencies that have been defined by 100 votes, by less than 100 votes, by one vote was one of the options of last election.
05:12So we'll be following close this process.
05:15It will continue.
05:16Polls will be open until 5 p.m.
05:19But, of course, if the lines continue, they will continue to be open and we'll be covering the whole day.
05:25So, Ana, you stay tuned because we'll have more information.
05:28Thank you, Valen, for the information.
05:37I will keep you for the next news brief because we know you have more to tell us.
05:42And we will continue with our news.
05:44On Wednesday in Haiti, the transitional government, the SIDA data for the presidential elections, the first round will be held on August 30, 2026.
05:53And if a second round is required, it will take place on December 6 of the same year.

06:46Welcome back to From the South.
06:48In Honduras, the international far-right and the United States government continue interfering in the country's elections by campaigning in favor of bipartisanship.
07:00Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump and El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele joined the international campaign that has already added voices,
07:10such as the Venezuelan far-right politician Maria Carolina Machado and U.S. Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar,
07:16who seek to promote external pressure in complicity with the bipartisan candidate Nasrila Asfura and Salvador Nasralla.
07:28This offensive, denounced by the government and the Libre Party for violating electoral sovereignty,
07:34exposes contradictions within the global far-right, which fails to achieve unanimously support for its candidates and diverse opinions within the bipartisan bloc.
07:46Several delegations of international observers are arriving in Honduras who will keep their eyes on the elections next Sunday.
08:00Many of them are questioning the attempts at intervention by movements, countries and figures of global far-right,
08:09who seek to obstruct the democratic process of a sovereign nation.
08:15From Teutigalpa, our correspondent Roberto Gopresa has the details.
08:18More than 6.5 million Hondurans have been called to participate in Sunday's general elections.
08:27Ahead of the vote, official sectors have denounced plans of fraud and international interference promoted by the right-wing bipartisan bloc.
08:35The director of the Center for Cooperation and International Exchange find it strange that abroad there is a talk of possible unrest,
08:42when the reality here is different.
08:43I've been here for four days, and this country is absolutely calm, it must be said.
08:54People are safeguarding their vote, defending their vote, and that seems to me to be exactly what every people does, right?
09:01The only aggressiveness I see is from a very hard, very strong right-wing, which does not acknowledge any of the achievements that have been made.
09:15Philip Ristick is a French political scientist, author of the book Venezuela, the Democracy That Is,
09:26a critique of the spread of false information in media and social networks about Venezuela's 2024 electoral process.
09:33He notes with concern that the same script is now being applied in Honduras.
09:36Because the narrative is the same, there is a government, a power located on the radical left, that seeks a better distribution of wealth,
09:46more social justice, more economic justice, and environmental justice, as well.
09:52And that troubles a part of the political spectrum in Venezuela, as in Honduras, which is commonly called the oligarchy.
09:59Other international observers reacted with indignation to the intervention of far-right figures,
10:10such as U.S. Congresswoman MarĂa Elvira Salazar and Venezuelan politician MarĂa Corina Machado.
10:18I see this as a very serious attempt at intervention in matters that belong solely to the sovereignty of the Honduran people.
10:25I believe the most recent example we can see of this strategy was in Venezuela.
10:37Precisely to create an atmosphere that would allow sectors dissatisfied with the results to reject the people's verdict,
10:44proclaim themselves winners, and thereby drag the country into a spiral of political instability.
10:49The National Electoral Council has planned for more than 6,000 observers, both national and international,
11:01to be deployed throughout the country to verify the conduct of the process.
11:08Hondurans will go to the polls next Sunday to elect their new president, members of the National Congress,
11:13mayors, and deputies to the Central American Parliament.
11:16of the Central American Parliament, Roberto Hugo Presa, Telesur, Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

11:38Welcome back.
12:01On Thursday, Pope Leo Ferdinand arrived in Turkey, where he will begin the first apostolic journey of his papacy.
12:12The Pope was created with military honors as he disembarked off the plane by Turkey's Minister of Culture and Tourism,
12:21Ugynous, under his member of the Prime Minister of Law, Tetris, Latvia, and the first expansion of the First Council of Higaya,
12:35Featuring key meetings calling for peace and dialogue in a region considered many to be the cradle of Christianity.
12:46With stops in Ankara, Iznik and Istanbul from Thursday to Sunday when he wielded the power of poor Lebanon,
12:56the Pope seeks to emphasize the search for peace and dialogue during his meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
13:02and his leaders and representatives of the other face.
13:27And we move on.
13:28The Palestinian resistance once again denounced that the Zionists' occupiers insist on undermining the ceasefire,
13:36accusing them of similarly executing fighters who remain besieged in the Rafa tunnels.
13:42Although the accruedment guarantees the lives of the fighters and Zionists had committed to the United States
13:50to resolve the situation of those who remain trapped, they continue executing them.
13:54The United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, warned on Wednesday that children in Lebanon continue to be exposed to violence
14:16despite the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah and marked its first anniversary this week.
14:22According to the agency, 13 children have died and more than 140 have been injured since the agreement came into force.
14:30In this regard, the organization's representative in the country, Marco Luigi Corsi,
14:36pointed out that the attacks continue to put children at risk and states that kids are far from being safe.
14:44In China, a huge fire in a Hong Kong apartment complex has killed.
14:57Fifty-four people left nearly 300 missing.
15:01According to the police, the fire might have spread due to the unsafe scaffolding that the fauna materials used during maintenance work.
15:12In this context, the Hong Kong police have arrested three men on suspicion of involuntary men's ladder
15:30for their alleged responsibility in the fire in the Typo district.
15:34The RSTs, aged between 52 and 68, are linked to the construction company responsible for the renovation work
15:44at the UNFU Kordok apartment complex.
