00:00As you look towards the Atlantic quieting down, but one place that is somewhat active with some
00:04of the stormy weather has been the Pacific. And you can see this is Hurricane Fausto still
00:10working its way through the Pacific. Where is the U.S.? Well, this is Mexico here,
00:15the U.S. to the north, and you have Hawaii well over here. So we are really kind of in
00:20the middle
00:20of the Pacific, so to speak, at least the eastern Pacific, that is. And as this continues to push
00:24its way west, it will get near the state of Hawaii. In fact, we are looking at just kind of
00:30skirt the coastline of some of the islands here as a tropical storm. So currently, this is, again,
00:35a hurricane. It will likely weaken to a tropical storm, but still has some impacts here for the
00:40state of Hawaii as we talk about it staying kind of just to the northern side of things. Now, it
00:45does
00:45find cooler water near Hawaii. That's why it weakens wind intensity. It loses wind intensity so quickly.
00:51But we still have wind gusts of more than 40 miles per hour, especially along the northern shores of
00:57the islands. And the rain will likely be more of the story. So we will get one to two inches
01:02of rain
01:03here along some of the islands. The good news is the places, the sides of the islands, the western
01:08and southern sides that tend to be a little bit more dry and arid and can't quite handle as much
01:13rain, that's not going to be the side that really gets the most rain from the storm system,
01:17ideally. And there will be at least some impacts with that rainfall and the gusty winds for the state
01:23of Hawaii.
