00:00Well, we've had some tremendous flooding and the earth was swept away under the foundation
00:06of this garage, at least at the back, in Maui, Hawaii.
00:10That happened again on Sunday after tremendous amounts of rain late last week through the
00:17weekend tied to a really impressive, dangerous Kona low pressure system, an area of low pressure
00:23off to the west that just directed this persistent zone of high-octane moisture right into the
00:29Hawaiian islands from the southwest and you can see street flooding and this wasn't just
00:33street flooding but river flooding overwhelming many neighborhoods there in Oahu as well.
00:38So we're going to be dealing with another Kona low. This one won't be quite as severe as the first
00:43one
00:44but it's going to be a similar pattern here. New low pressure system setting up shop to the west.
00:49The deep reds and maroons here, that's where you have tremendous amounts of moisture and here we go
00:53through Friday afternoon and into Friday evening and we're going to be dealing with more high-octane
00:58moisture and fuel for very heavy rain to again buffet parts of Hawaii. So it's another Kona low.
01:05There's your low pressure system off to the west. Moisture, tropical flow coming in. This is going
01:10to bring heavy rain returning, renewed flooding and again the risk of mudslides again and more travel
01:16trouble. So specifically as we take you through the next several days here, we're going to be dealing
01:20with round after round of rain. Here we have Friday into Saturday, Saturday afternoon. It's the southwest
01:26facing slopes of the mountains where we're going to see the worst of it Sunday and Monday. It won't
01:30last as long as the previous. It'll begin to shift away eventually but still we've got some issues out
01:35there. So rounds of rain through the weekend and then lingering showers that will become less
01:40numerous and less intense into next week in Honolulu.
