00:00The season finale of Severance ended brilliantly, with Innie Mark, Helly, and Dylan all asserting
00:04their full worth as humans. But if the finale left you with some remaining questions about
00:09why Gemma was dismantling that crib, what Cold Harbor is all about, and what Lumen's true
00:14purpose is, we have some thoughts. We believe the Severance chips at this stage are imperfect.
00:19The Severed Innies will still randomly feel grief, triggered by something that would deeply
00:23affect their Audis, and vice versa. That's why the Severed floor is such an austere,
00:28trigger-free space. Cold Harbor is a necessary step to refining the Severance chip, so that future
00:33workers are completely unburdened by their Audis traumas. In fact, we think Lumen's true purpose
00:38is to use Severance to create a sort of anesthetized utopia, as they already do in the birthing center.
00:44Gemma was a perfect candidate for this experiment, deep in grief after her failed attempts to have
00:49a child. And her final test, after being severed 25 times, is to do something her Audi would find
00:55unbearably cruel. It seemed like it worked too, until the spouse ruined-
