00:00Hi, I'm Chelsea.
00:02Hi, I'm Warren.
00:03And welcome to our sweet digs, where we have almost as many plants as we do furniture.
00:07All right, come on in.
00:09I have a nonprofit in Houston, it's called Mia's Closet.
00:12We collect clothing donations for kids from underserved communities,
00:15and then outside of that, my day-to-day is copywriting.
00:18I play soccer for the Philadelphia Union,
00:20and part-time designer and photographer for my brand, Craval.
00:28We live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in a bi-level, two-bed, two-and-a-half-bath apartment.
00:33We've lived in this neighborhood for a year and a half now, and we really love being here.
00:38I'd have to say my favorite part about the neighborhood is the strong sense of community.
00:42We love being able to walk to really popular neighborhoods from here, a bike,
00:45and we get to make the most of our time here.
00:47We actually paid $2,000 a month, so it might sound like a steal,
00:51but actually we were looking for something in a little bit lower of a price range.
00:54But all in all, this was a diamond in the rough, so we're just super thankful.
00:58Okay, guys, welcome to our living room.
01:01When we walked into this space and we saw the huge windows,
01:06the first thing we thought was like, oh my gosh, our plants!
01:08Like, they're gonna get so much natural light.
01:11I'd say we have around, like, 45.
01:13Here we have a corn plant.
01:15Here we have a palea plant, and I'm so proud
01:18because it's on its best sea paper for you guys.
01:20I also have a fiddle leaf fig. It's a baby one.
01:23And then we also have a ZZ plant.
01:25We have a plathos ivy, and then another one propagating in water.
01:30And then we have a cactus and air plant.
01:34We also have some photography by Warren.
01:36That's something that you'll see consistently throughout the house.
01:39I love his work, and I really try to find ways to highlight it throughout the house.
01:43So it's been really nice to set up the space, along with Warren,
01:45to incorporate the things that we like to see in each space throughout the room.
01:50And this is definitely one of my favorites.
01:52So a lot of our furniture is actually thrifted.
01:55I actually used to live next door to a thrift shop,
01:57so I would pass it a lot of times on my walks for coffee,
02:01and I would always stop by and see what they had, you know.
02:04And if it caught my eye and I, you know, was feeling the style,
02:07I would just kind of figure out a way to make it work in my apartment.
02:10And I've just kind of brought it along for the ride,
02:12and it's worked well in this new apartment.
02:16My mom has always been really big on creating a refuge out of your home.
02:21So when I was setting up the space, I really tried to focus on the things that I like the
02:26most,
02:26and it's this really nice blend of plants and some of our favorite magazines and books,
02:32and just different ways to make it feel really homey when we're here.
02:35Okay, guys, welcome to our kitchen.
02:37It is an open concept, as you can see, and it's really nice the way it flows right off of
02:42the living room.
02:43As much as I would like to say that all of our plants get the equal love that they deserve,
02:48the plants over the stove, I know they're probably not getting enough light,
02:52and we just really like having the greenery throughout.
02:55So unfortunately, sometimes that means you have plants that aren't in the most ideal location for them.
03:01Everybody's got their favorites, you know, and some just don't make the cut.
03:05And some of us don't care when they don't make it.
03:10All right, so this is our workspace, and this is a really special area for us
03:14because as opposed to pretty much the rest of the house,
03:17it's the one area where they both said, okay, you have your side, I have my side,
03:21and it's a way for us to fully express ourselves and our style
03:24without having to consider the other person.
03:26I'm a really aesthetically driven person, so I like to be very visually stimulated whenever I'm working.
03:33So I wanted to play with, you know, some colors over here.
03:37I have a couple of my photographs up here from when Chelsea and I went to Cuba.
03:41This is my space. So when I first set it up, I kind of like to have a workspace that
03:47reminds me of the things that matter most.
03:49My mom used to always put a little note in whatever box that she would send me when I was
03:53first moving up here and getting settled.
03:56So, you know, just to keep things in perspective and remember to stay connected to the people that matter most.
04:01And then kind of like on the lower part of my desk, I have plants as well.
04:05I also have a copy of my book because it's all about affirmations, and when my day gets crazy,
04:10I snatch it so I can, you know, kind of stay focused and all that.
04:16Hey guys, welcome to our guest room. So we set up this space with the intent of creating like a
04:23really welcoming Zen space for our guests.
04:26I used to call my room in my first apartment in New York like my little Brooklyn Oasis,
04:31and I just have a really strong sentimental attachment to it.
04:35So every apartment I've been in basically recreated it.
04:38The gold fans that I have over my bed are basically just another way to have a headboard. I love
04:44how they look.
04:45We have guests all the time. I'm actually an Airbnb host along with Warren.
04:49And it's just a great way to help people feel welcome when they're here,
04:53whether it's like friends and family or guests that we're hosting for Airbnb. So it's really cool.
04:58And that's my favorite plant in this room. It's my curly spider plant, and it took about two years for
05:04it to give me any spider plant babies.
05:06So I'm still kind of melting over the fact that it finally happened. But yeah, I love it in here.
05:10We don't spend much time in here erotically, but it's still one of my favorite spaces.
05:17Welcome to our bedroom. When we were setting up the space, we definitely wanted to create an area that was
05:23a little more chill,
05:25a little more low key, just because this is where we retreat for the night and we didn't want a
05:29lot going on.
05:30We obviously still have our plants and we love that aesthetic, but we definitely found some other ways to incorporate
05:37more feelings of home and other sentimental things that we have.
05:40So we put together this photo gallery wall. When I originally pictured the space, it was part of the vision
05:45that I had for it.
05:46And we were on the same team about making it happen. The way we wanted to do it was a
05:50little different.
05:51My parents were really thorough and like he takes his time. He had the love alert. He was measuring everything.
05:57It was so cute.
05:57But yeah, I think it came out really well. And most importantly, it's just a nice way to kind of
06:03bring in some of our favorite moments from over the years.
06:05Some places that we want to go to, some places that we've been, and a little bit in between.
06:09And then the bed is an area that we use just kind of for like under bed storage. So it's
06:14got a lot of sneakers.
06:16We just try to find ways to make the house feel really livable. The closet is actually a walk-in
06:20closet, which you're super excited about.
06:22Or it still has the whole closet in the guest bedroom basically is filled up with his stuff.
06:26I don't know about the whole closet. It's like half of the closet.
06:29More than half of the closet.
06:31Except for the bed.
06:33We also had a couple of really great surprises when we came to visit the house the first time.
06:39Like the bathroom was a double vanity and we just fell out because we had been sharing a sink bouncing
06:44back and forth between each other's places.
06:45So all those things, you know, you feel it and you really, really appreciate it just because it's, you know,
06:51it kind of makes you feel like you're transitioning into another stage of life.
06:55So it was just really cool.
06:59We love having this open space, but we definitely want to update our media center.
07:03It's a huge focal point for the space and we want to do a little tweak.
07:06Our current media center feels a little outdated, especially next to our modern kitchen.
07:10We wanted a new shelving unit, a new console, and a new rug to really tie the whole space together.
07:15We'd like to keep some items out of sight while displaying others, like the ball I still have for my
07:19first MLS goal.
07:27Alright, I'm really liking what I see.
07:29We chose the console for the storage. We chose the shelf for the height.
07:33And we love how the rug brings out all the colors in our living room.
07:36Now all we need is a new TV series to binge.
07:39Thanks for joining us for our sweet digs.
07:41We loved having you guys here, but we gotta go.
07:43So take care.
07:44Later.
07:45Later.
07:46Later.
07:46Later.
