00:00Hi, I'm Sochi.
00:01And I'm Courtney.
00:02And welcome to our Sweet Digs, Sorority Edition.
00:04Before you come in, make sure you subscribe below.
00:07Cool.
00:09Our apartment is located in West Hollywood.
00:12We pay $18.95 a month.
00:13It's about $9.50 each, and then utilities are about $50, so that's like about $1,000
00:19each.
00:19And we think that's really affordable here in Los Angeles, especially considering what
00:24other people pay.
00:24It's 840 square feet, and it's two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms.
00:28We both went to Cal State Long Beach, and we actually met through our sorority, Delta
00:32Gamma.
00:35This is our living room.
00:37This is where you'll find us most of the time, binge watching The Office or something.
00:40I first saw this apartment listed on Craigslist.
00:43We came and we saw it.
00:45It was at like 4 p.m., so it was very sunny through these windows, and it looks so magical
00:49and so beautiful.
00:50I furnished the place in about one week.
00:52I went to a million stores every single day, trying to find places, texting Sochi pictures.
00:57Some of the stuff's even like furniture that I had from the past, but it didn't match,
01:01so I painted it.
01:01She's very crafty, this one.
01:03Before we moved in, so she like went to Ikea, and she saw this perfect couch.
01:07I was like, okay, like I'll look on Craigslist first just to see if I see anything similar,
01:11and then we end up finding the exact couch that we wanted.
01:14It was for about half the price, so it was $600, and she delivered it, so it was so perfect.
01:18We do have this really cool balcony that goes across our whole living room.
01:22We do go out on it, but not that often just because it's very small.
01:25The only struggle we have with it is the fact that our slide door is like impossible to open
01:31and close.
01:37And then...
01:41Oh, I got it that time.
01:42And then over here we have our dining area and our bar cart.
01:47We definitely eat in front of the TV more, but whenever we have people over, this is our
01:52favorite part to be because it has our cute bar cart, and then it has our Vogue posters.
01:56It's the focal point as you're coming in from the doorway, and it just perfectly captures
02:01our whole like design theme.
02:02This one on the right I had in my college dorm, and so I've just kind of had it with
02:07me all
02:07these years.
02:08I honestly just found these two other covers on the internet, and then they match perfectly,
02:12so I just framed those as well.
02:14Over here is our kitchen.
02:15I don't personally cook very often.
02:17I typically only make eggs like in the morning, or I'll make like dinosaur chicken nuggets in
02:23our oven.
02:24I tend to do a little bit more cooking only because I try to save money.
02:27Some things I can make well is like pasta, steak, and chicken.
02:31But I'm trying to learn new dishes so that I have more of a variety.
02:35For decorating our kitchen, I wanted to add some color to this very white kitchen.
02:39So right here I added this fabric that I glued around a piece of cardboard, and it just adds
02:45a little tiny pop of color.
02:47So this is our tiny bathroom.
02:48We tried to do what we could with the small space that we had.
02:52We tend not to use this one as much.
02:54I would say we definitely use that one more just because this one is so combined.
02:57This is our big bathroom, the one with the shower that we share.
03:02We don't really have a set schedule for sharing it, but we will always just check in, like
03:06be like, do you need the bathroom?
03:08Like, do you need the shower?
03:09Just to like see with each other.
03:11But we usually, it just works out.
03:12On these tiles, they're white with like brown and blue circles on them.
03:18But I covered them with white washi tape just to make it more white and pink and match
03:23with our overall theme.
03:24And this is my bedroom.
03:27It's very colorful.
03:28I found this painting actually in a dumpster.
03:31Me and my mom happened to drive by the dumpster.
03:34We were like, oh my gosh, there's no way someone meant to throw that away.
03:36It's way too pretty.
03:38So like a few days later, we drove by it again.
03:40We were like, nope, it's thrown away for sure.
03:42So I'm taking it.
03:43And I have no idea who Bert is.
03:45I literally found this in a trash can.
03:46I have a twin sister named Lindsey.
03:48After we both graduated from college, we went on this trip throughout the country.
03:53And one of our stops was in Austin, Texas.
03:55There's this like street artist who was writing poems.
03:58We decided to ask him to write about twins.
04:01And he wrote it.
04:02And then we both have a framed copy of it in our rooms.
04:04And it's just really special.
04:05I'm in fashion.
04:06I'm a stylist.
04:07I used to work for celebrities, but now I'm sort of transitioning into something new.
04:11I would describe my home style as very colorful.
04:15But it's also very influenced by my love for fashion.
04:19And I also used to be a ballerina.
04:20And I have a lot of pieces, especially around my room, that have that ballet influence.
04:26This is my bedroom.
04:28Very white and simple.
04:31My room is definitely more neutral.
04:35White is my favorite color.
04:37And it has a pops of pink and gold and silver.
04:40Definitely like to make it look as clean as possible.
04:43My room has been like an ongoing process.
04:45I still haven't finished decorating it completely.
04:48When I'm out and I see something that matches the decor, then I'll bring it home.
04:53There's still a lot of things that I feel like I'm missing.
04:55So it's definitely not done yet.
04:57The most sentimental thing I have in my room is this picture frame circle I have right above my desk.
05:03I'm just a very organized person in general.
05:05So I feel like my desk always has to be perfect.
05:09It kind of serves as my workspace, kind of a little bit of storage, and my studio whenever I have
05:15time to sit down and record something.
05:17I work in public relations.
05:18So I work right now at an agency.
05:20And my next dream apartment really would just be somewhere that allows dogs.
05:25Because right now we can't have pets here and I miss my dogs.
05:28I would say our home style is a perfect combination of the two of us.
05:32Mine's very colorful and sort of vintage-y.
05:36And then hers is very simple and neutral.
05:38So I think out here in like the shared spaces, it's very much an even combination of both those.
05:44The worst part about our apartment would have to be the fact that we share a parking spot.
05:48Street parking is okay here, but it's really annoying that we have to text each other every day, like after
05:55work and stuff.
05:55Are you home yet? Are you coming home late?
05:58And then we have to like figure out who gets the spot.
06:00We compliment each other as roommates, I think.
06:02Our relationship is a very perfect roommate relationship.
06:05We get along super easy.
06:07We're very good at communicating, but we also have like our own lives.
06:10We just were such perfect roommates.
06:12Like we have no problem with each other at all.
06:21Thank you so much for watching our sweet digs.
