00:04Hi! What's up, guan? What's up, guan?
00:07My name is Kimmy. Welcome to my Sweet Digs.
00:10Before you come in, make sure you subscribe below.
00:13And before you come into my house,
00:15make sure you take off your shoes.
00:17Follow me!
00:18I'm a content creator and actress that is based in New York.
00:22I live in Mount Vernon.
00:24It's between Bougie Pelham and the Boogie Down Bronx.
00:27And I live here with my mom, my sisters, and my nephew.
00:31And my parents migrated here from Jamaica in 1994.
00:35We started off renting out the basement,
00:37and then we moved to the second floor,
00:39and then we bought the house.
00:42And I pay, drumroll please, $600 for rent,
00:48which is a steal in New York.
00:50If you know, you know.
00:51So I'm going to show you my space, my room.
00:53Follow me.
00:56This is my cardio for the entire year of 2021.
01:02I would describe my home style as very colorful, very vibrant.
01:07I like when things are playful and fun.
01:10This is my room where I journal, where I write,
01:14where I create content.
01:15And it actually used to be blue,
01:17but during the pandemic having to sit with that blue for so long
01:21was too much color for me.
01:22So I had it painted white, kept the pops of color.
01:25So you can follow me to my content creation station.
01:29This is my desk.
01:31She's a little bit unstable.
01:32She's probably going to need therapy after the year we all had.
01:37It's really where I can let my creative juices flow.
01:41Something that made social distancing not so bad
01:44was the fact that I was able to start my channel.
01:47I feel like if it wasn't for this pandemic
01:49and being pushed into my own company,
01:51I wouldn't have started the channel that I did.
01:54I'm so proud of it and so happy that it's out there.
01:59And then, of course, I have Herbert,
02:02who is a miracle all by himself.
02:04The fact that I am able to keep Herbert alive
02:06is something to honestly just give me a round of applause.
02:11And then I also have my journal that keeps me sane.
02:15And speaking of the most creative person in this household,
02:19let me show you her room.
02:21It's my mom.
02:22Follow me.
02:27So this is her room.
02:29Not everybody is allowed in here.
02:31So just take a peek while you can.
02:33And of course, I cannot forget my sister.
02:37This is her room.
02:41Hello.
02:42We love the purple.
02:44It's her favorite color.
02:46Before the pandemic, I was so close to moving to Brooklyn.
02:50And then the pandemic struck and I ended up staying home.
02:54And I'm so happy that I did because I've been able to connect to my family
02:58in a way that I'm so certain we would not have been able to do
03:01had I moved to Brooklyn.
03:04That's the kitchen, but I'm not cooking for you guys.
03:07So let's go to the washroom.
03:10Right this way.
03:13Everybody does their own laundry.
03:16I would describe my style as very colorful, very vibrant.
03:21I wear vibrant clothing when I'm filming for my channel because I know
03:26that it will uplift someone.
03:27It'll bring a smile to someone's face.
03:31Don't you love the smell of fresh laundry?
03:34Okay.
03:35So now this is the living room.
03:37This is where I run to for my TV shows and movies and family time.
03:43I love to drink some tea, maybe grab a couple bits of content if I have the time.
03:51Let me introduce you to my favorite person in the house, Priscilla, my drum set.
03:58Priscilla and I met in 2001 when my dad started a church called Lighthouse Ministries International.
04:04Unfortunately, in 2008, he passed away, but my mom took over as the pastor and she has been such an
04:11instrumental part of me playing these drums.
04:14She was the one who said, go for it.
04:16I was eight years old, had my little church socks on.
04:18I was like, it's time to pull them up and meet Priscilla.
04:20One, two, three, four.
04:24In this pandemic, you've had to come into this space and have church because if you're a pastor's kid, you
04:31know that regardless of hurricane, weather, delays, snow, rain, we haven't church.
04:40Let me stop before the neighbors sue.
04:46I would say that I'm spending a lot of time getting to know myself.
04:50Like, who are you, good sis? Like, what's happening?
04:53I've gotten to know myself a lot better and also gotten to know my family members a lot better.
04:58We've had a lot of heart-to-heart conversations that we weren't expecting, worked through a lot of stuff, so
05:03that's been cool.
05:05I feel like my space is influenced a lot by how I'm feeling.
05:11That's, I think, something I get from my mom definitely, because if we don't feel something, we're about to change
05:16it.
05:17Just so that we can have peace of mind about where we come home to and how it makes us
05:22feel.
05:24Spending time at home has definitely made us all declutter everything, whether it's physical decluttering, spiritual decluttering, relationship decluttering.
05:35A lot of stuff was brought to light, and I'm so grateful for that time and that space to be
05:41able to do that.
05:42Thank you for checking out my sweet digs. If you liked the video, feel free to like it.
