00:00Even though we're all from different states, Seattle has definitely become a home for all
00:04three of us.
00:05And I think that's largely because we live together and we work so well together that
00:09it's really just became kind of like my comfort spot whenever I'm not with my family.
00:14Aww.
00:15It's like Olive Garden when you're here.
00:18You're a family.
00:26Hi Refinery29, welcome to Our Sweet Digs.
00:29I'm Isabelle.
00:29I'm Ally.
00:30I'm Carolyn.
00:31Fun fact, our house is from 1918.
00:34Come on in to our colorful Cap Hill home here in Seattle, Washington.
00:39We paid $3,400 for a three-bedroom, two-bath house.
00:43Our house has 1,800 square feet, which we love because it gives us lots of room to hang
00:47out and have fun together.
00:48We have three bedrooms all right next to each other upstairs.
00:51Where we are in Cap Hill, we're super lucky because we're walkable from so many different
00:55bars, coffee shops, restaurants.
00:58One of the highlights is Rapport.
01:00It's a two-minute walk from us and we can go there and get coffee, but our favorite part
01:04is they have wine by the top, so we love to just go there maybe after work one day and
01:08just grab a glass of rosé.
01:09And then there's Boat Bar, which is just a really good spot for seasonal food.
01:14And then right next door is Frankie and Joe's, so vegan ice cream, really delicious.
01:19Now let's check out our living room.
01:21So for this room, we really tried to make it bright, colorful, a little bit boho with
01:25some of the furniture that we purchased, which is 90% off Facebook Marketplace.
01:30One of our favorite things that we pulled in from our last house when we were living together
01:34was this couch.
01:35It's been in my family for probably like 15 years and it's just so comfortable that we
01:40found it a flea market one day.
01:41My family's pretty crafty, so my mom knitted all the blankets that you see in the room
01:46and then my aunt knitted the little puff in the corner.
01:49And then our friend is super artistic and painted the pictures behind us.
01:53She painted them for our old house, but they fit perfectly in this space.
01:56And this is also my office.
01:57I work in the corner.
01:59It's super bright in here, which I love, but it kind of keeps me secluded so I can be quiet
02:03on calls.
02:03So Allie and Isabel have been friends forever.
02:06They've lived together forever, so I was a little bit nervous coming in to living with them
02:10just because they like had a good system going down.
02:12But I feel like we're all really like chill.
02:17Like nobody's too cool for anything, like whether it's like a murder mystery party or
02:22just like, I don't know, saying words in a weird way.
02:25We don't take ourselves too seriously.
02:28So over here we have our bar cart, one of our favorite finds from Facebook Marketplace,
02:33but it was this really ugly gold color.
02:36So we spray painted it black just to match the rest of our furniture in this room.
02:41And then to go along with that, we all collect vintage glassware.
02:44So we put them on display in this room just to kind of tie the whole room together.
02:48So when we're not having people over to host, this is actually where I have my desk and work
02:52area.
02:53Carolyn and I have definitely tried to keep our areas a little separate just because we're
02:56on calls a lot of the time.
02:58I tried to add a little bit of color to make it more fun.
03:00So I added a wallpaper on the desk and then a cute yarn piece from World Market.
03:05I feel like when we moved into this house, we didn't really know what our style was, but
03:09we kind of got our core pieces and then just like added things together like color and gold.
03:15And we picked like certain accent colors that we wanted to focus on.
03:18And I feel like that really helped us like develop our style as a group.
03:23So the kitchen is one of our favorite places in the house because all three of us really do
03:27love to cook, however, it is also one of the least favorites just because it's pretty tight
03:32in here and we don't have that much hammer space.
03:34We actually ended up having to add a rack from Ikea that just holds all of our pantry items.
03:39And we also have the most important part of the house, the compost bucket right next to
03:44the other most important part of the house, the coffee maker.
03:47And then we also have a spice rack that's super cute that keeps them hidden, but also adds
03:52some character to the kitchen.
03:55So one pro tip we have for securing some houses is we printed out a piece of paper, put
04:00our pictures on it, what we do for work, what we like to do for fun.
04:03And we gave that to our landlords, which I think made the whole experience like very personable
04:07and also has helped us got our last two houses.
04:13Welcome to our upstairs.
04:14All three of our bedrooms are up here, which is really nice when we're trying to get ready
04:17together.
04:18We also put up one of our favorite pieces from Facebook Marketplace.
04:21It's a wicker rattan bench that has some storage in it, but it's a cute little seating area
04:26up here.
04:27Above the bench, we have some lovely artwork from my sister.
04:31Now let's go check out my room.
04:34So I love spending a lot of time in my room just because we've got these big eastern facing
04:39windows.
04:40So a lot of natural light comes in throughout the day.
04:42My style I would probably describe as kind of like worldly travel theme.
04:48In the corner we have my desk because I do kind of work from home a little bit.
04:52I have my book collection on my desk, which I've kind of arranged in a bunch of different
04:57sections.
04:57So I have my political theme, my random section, and my finance section.
05:02And then I have a set of Moroccan tea glasses that I like to display kind of on the little
05:10shelf by my desk.
05:11Got that at a neat little store in Portland.
05:14Over here also above the side table, I have these two little pictures from Vietnam.
05:21Ali and I went on a trip when we graduated college to Vietnam and Thailand, so those are
05:24really special pieces to me.
05:26Then I also have two big closets in my room.
05:30I love clothes, so it's really nice to have the storage space and Ali even keeps some of
05:34her clothes in my closets.
05:38So my room, I really tried to keep it pretty bright because it's not the biggest room in
05:42the house, but add a couple vintage pieces with the chair over there in the corner and
05:47my rug.
05:47Isabel and I, we actually went to Thailand after graduation.
05:50So we each have matching lanterns that I love, wanted to make sure to add those.
05:54I will say one of my favorite parts of the room, and I'm not afraid to say this, is my
05:59TV.
05:59I love chilling in here in my bed on Sunday mornings.
06:02The girls definitely come over and we watch a movie in here, so I love that part of it.
06:08I also have a similar like mid-century modern dresser.
06:12That was my biggest splurge.
06:14I spent about $400 on it, but I love that when you open it, you can actually see the date
06:19and it's from the early 1800s as well.
06:21So, one of my favorite parts of the room is definitely adding some of my mom's pillows.
06:26She made all of them and you'll see a couple other ones throughout the house downstairs.
06:30I grew up basically going to the Rose Bowl flea market every single weekend with my mom,
06:35and so that's where I really tried to bring in some vintage pieces.
06:38I'm always on the hunt for just some unique furniture like the chair in the corner or the
06:44painting above my bed.
06:47Welcome to my room.
06:48This room is really light and bright and colorful.
06:51I feel like my personal style is pretty feminine.
06:53I love pink, which you'll see throughout.
06:56I also love to collect candles and like self-care things by my bed.
07:01I have a little self-care station with my face roller and some lotion just so I can keep on
07:06top of that.
07:07I love how this wall is slanted.
07:09It kind of frames my bed.
07:11I didn't think I needed to add too much to it because it kind of just makes it this cozy
07:15little nook over here.
07:16And then on my dresser, I have a bunch of candles and just fun little knickbacks that
07:21I've collected over the years.
07:22I feel like I am a big candle collector.
07:25I love how they smell and love how they look.
07:27I think I have probably like 17 candles in here.
07:37Kind of going off how we did the rest of the house, we kind of just collected furniture
07:42from our families and from Facebook Marketplace.
07:44But the white dresser in the corner was my grandpa's and then my dad's and I painted it
07:49and it's been with me since I was a kid.
07:57This is our one main bathroom, we all share it together.
08:00You might think that three girls sharing a bathroom would be complicated but we really
08:04make it work and it's fun actually getting ready together.
08:06It has great lighting for doing makeup and getting ready and these little sconces add some
08:12great character to the bathroom as well.
08:14I feel like for us home means being together which sounds cheesy but that's really what makes
08:18our house a home.
08:20Also bringing things from our childhood that we grew up with that are sentimental and mean
08:24a lot to us from our families really makes us feel like we're at home.
08:27Yeah, I think home for me is also the together.
08:32Even people that don't live here, that's the biggest thing.
08:35I think the most fun times we've had are Sunday afternoons that turn into Sunday nights because
08:42everyone's just hanging out, watching TV, eating, having a good time.
08:46We're just together.
08:48We do want whoever comes over to just feel relaxed and be able to kick their feet up
08:53and just kind of go throughout the house and chill wherever they want.
08:57Thanks for checking out our Sweet Digs.
