00:00Hey, I'm Nagin. Welcome to My Sweet Digs. Before you come on in, make sure that you subscribe down below.
00:05Let's come meet my plants.
00:07My apartment is $1,450 a month and I have about 840 square feet. It's a one bedroom, one bathroom
00:15with a giant walk-in closet.
00:18I have a washer and dryer in unit, which is incredible. And my apartment complex also has a pool. So
00:24I think it's just a really great deal for me.
00:26This is my living room. One of my favorite finds of all time is my beautiful coffee table.
00:33I found it on Facebook Marketplace and it had a water stain and so I got it for like $80.
00:39Such a steal.
00:41So the one thing that my friends are definitely not a fan of are my Oak Knoll chairs, but I'm
00:47so in love with them.
00:49They're just so old and they creak a lot. I really splurged on my credenza.
00:54I got it at this vintage store called Rave On. It was about $850. I die inside when I say
01:02that.
01:02The next big purchase I made was this really amazing and comfortable couch. I paid $675 for it.
01:10I got it from Living Spaces and it just fits so perfectly.
01:14I am a full-time YouTuber. Above my dining table we have, oh, it's my YouTube plaque.
01:19I cried when I received it in the mail. It was such a pivotal moment in my career. It was
01:25just really nice to have it on display.
01:27I've been collecting my plants for roughly three and a half years and none of them have died.
01:34I really make it a point to have real plants living in this space. I think fake plants don't even.
01:40I'm sorry. If you have them, just don't. It really gives a fake vibe. So this whole place, all real.
01:48I hate fake plants. We have my fiddle leaf fig tree. His name is Fiddle.
01:53And then I have my pilea called Penny and it is just a beautiful, beautiful plant.
01:59I definitely talk to them every day. I'm not crazy, but I'll walk up to Fiddle and I'll be like,
02:03good morning.
02:05Doesn't say anything back, but you know, you do what you can.
02:09And we have my kitchen over here. I like to cook every single day.
02:15I really love cooking a roast chicken. I'm using Ina Garten's famous roast chicken recipe.
02:22I love it. I cook it like every month.
02:24I'll just have it in the middle of the week and it'll just last me for forever.
02:29My little morning routine is going to my Nespresso, putting in a Vanizio pod.
02:35It's the vanilla pod. And then I'll add in my collagen creamer.
02:38Then I'll come and sit onto the couch and I'll just do my work on my laptop.
02:43And you guys, this is just the highlight of my day.
02:46Everything in my apartment, I like to keep extremely, like super neat, except for my junk drawer.
02:53This is the only place where all of the random stuff goes.
02:58Here we are in my bathroom.
03:00I was really wanting to give off some spa-like vibes.
03:06I added in dried eucalyptus so that whenever I'm taking a shower,
03:11the steam from the shower will bring out the essential oils and it's divine.
03:16I decided to get a wooden mat to step out on.
03:21Doesn't really work that well, but it's for the aesthetic, you guys, and it's worth it.
03:24Although I don't have a window in my bathroom, I really wanted plants to live in here,
03:30but it's just, it wouldn't work.
03:31So I did go for fake plants, but they're pretty cute, you guys, and they're small.
03:36Well, they're real, because it really adds to the, they add to the aesthetic, okay, you guys?
03:42Don't judge me, okay?
03:44But I still hate them.
03:45If I could get rid of them, I would.
03:48And through this door, we have my walk-in closet.
03:52What really tops this apartment off is the walk-in closet.
03:56I mean, I just really love that it's so spacious,
03:59and I know my friends say that I'm spending a lot of money,
04:02but have you seen the closet?
04:04And this is my bedroom.
04:07For my bedroom, it is still a work in progress.
04:10I really was trying to go for a bohemian vibe,
04:14but I think it turned into industrial as well.
04:17Ideally, it would be bohemian.
04:19Bed frames can get pretty expensive,
04:20and at the time, I was like, oh, this is a cheap bed frame.
04:24The side tables work perfectly,
04:26because they have a lot of wood accents on them.
04:28So industrial in the back, boho in the front.
04:31I really wanted to have a really nice desk to work at
04:34whenever I'm editing my videos.
04:36I wanted a wooden desk, and I found it on allmodern.com.
04:40It's just perfect. It's a great size for me.
04:42It's not too big, not too small.
04:43I really wanted to have some influences from Iran.
04:47I have a little box.
04:50It has my grandfather's watch in there.
04:53Whenever he passed, I asked my family members
04:56to bring the watch down from Iran.
04:58I wanted to wear it, and so we got new batteries put in.
05:01But then the watch just completely died within the week.
05:04But, you know, it's great to look at once in a while.
05:06I have a Polaroid of my parents displayed right above my desk.
05:11I think it's so cute.
05:12I grew up as an only child.
05:14I have never had a pet before.
05:16Just growing up in a really tight-knit family
05:18has really helped me just get super close to them.
05:22We literally have matching tattoos.
05:24I don't know.
05:25It was cute.
05:26It was a little sweet little activity that we all did.
05:29Because I'm a YouTuber, I pay very close attention
05:32to what's in the background of my videos.
05:35And so that really influenced the way that I decorate.
05:38So having white walls is super, super important.
05:41Having a lot of natural sunlight is really beneficial for my videos.
05:45Working from home is really amazing,
05:48and it's also challenging at times.
05:51It does get a little lonely just always being here.
05:55I have to designate a lot of times throughout my day
05:58to see other people, like see humans.
06:01And so it's hard, but I just really love the time freedom
06:05that I have with working from home.
06:07So it's just something that comes with it.
06:09I actually was living in this complex,
06:11and I went through a breakup,
06:13and I really just love this place so much
06:15that I decided to move within the same complex.
06:18But it's okay because I really love it that much.
06:21I moved in here with my plants and my desk
06:24and my clothes and my kitchenware.
06:26I had to invest a lot of money
06:28into literally everything in a really short period of time.
06:32So I would say I've spent upwards of $4,000 or more.
06:37It was really hard adjusting,
06:39but it took about two months for this place
06:41to really feel like home.
06:42And the moment that it clicked,
06:45it was such a memorable moment.
06:46And it's just been a really empowering
06:48and fulfilling moment in my life.
06:50Now that I'm living alone and paying for my bills
06:54and taking care of myself fully,
06:56I feel like such a grownup.
06:58And I just feel really happy and proud
07:01that I'm just not relying on anyone.
07:03I can do all that I need to do by myself.
07:08Thanks for watching my sweet digs.
