00:00When you're trying to find yourself as a young girl, it can be a little difficult to like
00:04really understand how you're supposed to kind of feel.
00:08Interesting would be a really great word to describe my hair journey.
00:11Having short hair has taught me how to truly accept and love myself in the rawest form.
00:17My name is Asia and I'm getting a faded pink wig.
00:21I'm a fashion designer.
00:23I design women's wear and do some custom men's pieces, but mainly women's wear.
00:27My hair underneath this wig is curly and it's about this long and I love my hair underneath.
00:34I just don't want to do my hair all the time and I don't have time in the morning to
00:38do my hair.
00:38I want to do the faded pink look because one, I've never had pink hair and I really love pink.
00:45To be honest, I am a little nervous about this faded pink wig option because once it's on,
00:51it's on.
00:52Growing up I was modeling as a teenager and during that time I was also coloring my hair
00:58a lot and it became really, really, really over-processed.
01:02So I came to a point where I had to pretty much just cut my hair off to start over.
01:08I've had a difficult time.
01:09I went through many different ups and downs, but actually my hair had become like an outlet
01:15for me.
01:15It was a way for me to express an emotion, whether I wasn't feeling good about myself
01:20or I had control over it.
01:22So when that moment happened, everything changed for me.
01:25I always felt confident.
01:27Even if my hair is a hot mess, I feel good.
01:30When I get the wig, I'm definitely facetiming my best friend because we're obsessed with
01:35Alonzo and she's jealous.
01:37Yes.
01:39Hi.
01:40Hey girl, how are you?
01:41I'm Alonzo.
01:42I'm Aisha.
01:43Nice to meet you too.
01:44Girl, you ready?
01:44Yes.
01:45I'm so ready too, girl.
01:46So what we're going to do in a rose faded pink.
01:49My name is Alonzo Arnold and I am a hairstylist to the stars.
01:53Wigs to me mean personality, versatility.
01:57You can be fun with a wig, but wigs can also mean bad things.
02:02Wiggy, humpy, horrible.
02:03Who wants that?
02:04Not me.
02:05So now I'm going to start coloring the wig and I know it's really bright, but y'all
02:10going to see how it's going to turn out.
02:12Okay.
02:12The process is very tedious.
02:14First, you have to measure your client's head.
02:16You have to look at your client's skin type, look at their undertones for color variations
02:22to see what specific colors go with the client because sometimes that is, you know,
02:27a job in itself.
02:27I did bring in a pre-bleached unit.
02:29I bleached it about two days ago.
02:31And then I let it soak in conditioner just so that the hair can retain its elasticity.
02:37And that way the hair doesn't break while depositing the color on it.
02:40All right, y'all.
02:41So that's the fun part.
02:42We're about to rinse the color out and we're going to give it a good shampoo.
02:46And we're going to see the results.
02:52This is like really, really full circle for me because during the age when I first cut
02:57my hair, all I wore was pink.
02:59Like my nails were pink.
03:01My hair was pink.
03:02I mean, my hair wasn't pink, but like had pink barrettes, pink clothes.
03:06So it's like I'm living my youth in a new way, which is really cool.
03:11This is my tinting technique that I like to do.
03:15I'm ready.
03:16Me too, girl.
03:18All right, guys.
03:19So that process is now complete.
03:22So now what we have to do is let it dry and we're going to apply this wig.
03:32When I first heard the word God-fidence, I was at church.
03:36It's like another level of confidence.
03:39When it's from God, it's from within.
03:41So it's like, it's heightened.
03:43So it kind of brings everything full circle from what I've learned from a little girl,
03:48learning to love myself deeply and not just from an outward perspective.
03:54The active adhesive is really good for, again, clients that sweat a lot,
03:58who work out.
03:59Do you work out?
03:59All the time.
04:00So this is a perfect adhesive for clients that do work out and that love to work out.
04:12Now we're trying to see what part we're going to do, middle or side.
04:15Now what you got?
04:16Middle.
04:17Ooh.
04:17That sounds like fun.
04:20My clothing line's name is TLZ La Femme, which means to live zealously femme.
04:26And this kind of ties into what I've been talking to you about, having that confidence.
04:31I want to share with women my journey and also be able to give them inspiration.
04:37And living in your glory and your power is really important.
04:40So go for it and be that feminine woman energy and embrace it.
04:46I can't wait to see.
04:47I can't wait to see.
04:48Show me.
04:48Show me.
04:49Are you ready, honey?
04:51I'm ready.
04:52Let me see.
04:53Here we go.
04:56Oh.
04:57My.
04:58Gosh.
04:59It's so you.
05:01Stop it.
05:02Baby.
05:03I told you.
05:04Okay, bounce.
05:05Get it on face.
05:06Hey.
05:07This look makes me feel like a completely new, youthful woman.
05:13Oh, give me a hug.
05:13No.
05:14Thank you, honey.
05:16Oh, thank you.
05:17I love you too.
05:19Answer your face time.
05:20I have something to show you.
05:26Yes, girl.
05:27I told you I was going to get the alarm delay, baby.
05:32You like it?
05:33Look at this girl.
05:34You love it?
05:35Yes.
05:36Oh, you look good on it.
05:38I love working with Asia.
05:40She is such a sweetheart.
05:42She's open to anything.
05:44You know, I thought she was going to be like, ah, I don't want to do pink.
05:46She took it in and she loves it.
05:48Like, all smiles.
05:49It's working in her favor well, honey.
05:50Her new look is everything.
05:52I love it.
05:53It is so sickening on her.
05:55I was really nervous about what it was going to look like because I wasn't too sure if
06:00it was going to fit me.
06:01But when I saw it, I was shocked because it's so hot.
