00:00Ready to get your eyebrows dutched up?
00:01I am, let's go!
00:03Come right in.
00:04Oh, we went the wrong way, I went the wrong way.
00:06That's okay.
00:07That's okay.
00:08Hey guys, it's me Anne, and this is Beauty With Me.
00:11There are very few beauty treatments that I love so much that I would talk about it to
00:16literally anyone who will listen, and microblading is one of them.
00:20Ever since I got my eyebrows microbladed for the first time, a little over a year and a
00:25half ago, I've been incredibly thrilled with the results, namely because I can wake up
00:30in the morning with perfect eyebrows and not have to spend a ton of time filling them in
00:35with pomades and pencils and powders.
00:37For those of you who may not be familiar, microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup
00:42that inserts pigments into the upper layers of the skin.
00:46It lasts typically anywhere from one to two years before it starts fading.
00:51I noticed that my eyebrows were starting to fade a little bit about a month ago, so I
00:55decided to book an appointment with my microblader Amelia Berry at Permaline Cosmetics.
00:59Before we get started, though, I wanted to mention something really exciting.
01:02The lipstick that I'm wearing is actually a Refine 129 and Revlon collaboration.
01:06We reimagined the packaging of three iconic Revlon shades, Cherries in the Snow, which
01:13is what I'm wearing, Love is On, and Black Cherry.
01:16They come in two finishes in really cute bags like this, so check out the description
01:21bar for more info on that.
01:22Okay, on to the microblading.
01:25I went and met Amelia at her studio where she does a lot of different forms of semi-permanent
01:30makeup and also teaches the craft to students through her training program.
01:35If you're happy with what we did before, I'm just going to refresh it.
01:40I actually really like the shape that you did.
01:42I think if anything, like maybe just adding one extra hair like right here because I feel
01:48like it's faded a little bit on this side.
01:50We got to work right away.
01:52She slapped on some numbing gel on my eyebrows and I sat tight for like 20 minutes while it
01:58seeped in.
01:59Once my brows were sufficiently numbed, Amelia wiped off the excess numbing gel and took a
02:05good hard look at my eyebrows.
02:07Now, what's kind of nice about semi-permanent makeup is that it does fade after one to two
02:11years, so you do have the option to alter and kind of change the shape or the opacity
02:17of your brows.
02:17I loved my brows so much so I was like, Amelia, just do the exact same thing but a little
02:23bit deeper because it had faded some.
02:25Let's double check the symmetry.
02:26You do have one eyebrow that you lift more, so it's your expression eyebrow.
02:31Is that one?
02:32Yes.
02:33Yeah.
02:33I like this shape, maybe like a little bit less right here, just in the bottom.
02:43Not going to lie, the first round of microblading hurts.
02:48It's uncomfortable, especially when Amelia was gliding the tool over my brow bone.
03:05After the first layer was done, Amelia added more numbing solution to my brows and after
03:10that I couldn't feel a thing.
03:30See, round two after the numbing.
03:33Chewy.
03:34Painless.
03:55Once my brows were in a good place, Amelia wiped off the excess fluid and applied an antibiotic
04:00ointment to my eyebrows.
04:02Then she told me exactly how to take care of them and how to keep them from fading so fast.
04:07According to Amelia, everybody has a slightly different experience to microblading.
04:18But there are some external factors that can make them fade faster.
04:21One of these things is the products that you use.
04:24Particularly the stronger, more effective skincare such as Retin-A, Vitamin C.
04:31Because they penetrate deeper, they work very well.
04:34The problem is if it's applied to the forehead, not even on the eyebrows itself, it will migrate
04:40and find its way to the eyebrows.
04:42They will fade faster than someone that wouldn't use it at all.
04:46I basically accepted that my eyebrows will fade and I'd rather continue my skincare routine
04:52than not use it and have perfectly microbladed brows.
04:57This is how I feel about it.
04:58When it comes to aftercare, it was the exact same procedure as when I first got my eyebrows microbladed.
05:03I had to keep my eyebrows completely dry for five days.
05:06That means in the shower when you're washing your face.
05:08I used like a shower cap and wore it the other way and put it over my face.
05:12When I was washing my face, I used like a wipe and different washcloths.
05:16So there are definitely ways to do it.
05:17It's not the easiest, it's not the fastest, but it works.
05:21First they get dark, right?
05:23Yeah.
05:23Because they're drying in and you're not supposed to put anything on them.
05:26Then they will get extremely light after about a week or so.
05:30And then they kind of set in and they get a little bit deeper, right?
05:33Right, so they get the light and then they oxidize in the next five, six weeks after they faded
05:40and they bloom back in by about 20, 30%.
05:43Got it.
05:44And I remember it was also warmer and it gets cooler too.
05:47The tone of the bowel gets cooler as it heals.
05:50Right.
05:51I like it.
05:52You can see all the hairs again.
05:54Yay.
05:56You're welcome.
05:57After the five day mark, you can start applying an ointment to it.
06:00I use the A&D ointment, which is what Amelia recommended.
06:02It is a diaper rash ointment, but it helps keep them nice and moist, helps speed up the healing.
06:06I'm actually in that process right now.
06:09So as you can see, my eyebrows are shiny and they're starting to flake a bit.
06:14I got my eyebrows microbladed at this point.
06:15It was a week ago.
06:16So the scabs that had formed are starting to peel off and I'm just keeping them nice and moist with
06:21the ointment.
06:22And I'm going to keep doing that for another five to seven days.
06:24And here we are.
06:26I will insert a photo right here to show you guys what my eyebrows look like after all the scabs
06:32have come off.
06:33According to Amelia, you don't actually see the final result of what the eyebrows are going to look like until
06:37about six weeks after your treatment.
06:39So that is it, my eyebrows.
06:41I hope that this answered any of your questions if you have been thinking about getting microbladed.
06:48I obviously love, love, love, love my microbladed eyebrows, but I know it's not for everyone.
06:55So if you have any questions about the process, let me know down below.
06:58But I will see you guys next week.
